Hong Kong to start reopening border with China on Sunday

HONG KONG (AP) — Hong Kong will start to reopen its border with mainland China on Sunday and allow tens of thousands of people to cross from each side every day without quarantine, the city’s leader said.
The city’s land and sea border checkpoints with the mainland have been largely closed for almost three years under China’s “zero-COVID” strategy, which has restricted entry to the country, isolated infected people and locked down areas with outbreaks. The reopening is expected to provide a much-needed boost to Hong Kong’s economy.
Thursday’s announcement came as China is easing some of the world’s toughest anti-virus controls. From Sunday, China will also gradually increase the number of flights between Hong Kong and the mainland and scrap the limit on passenger numbers for flights from the city, the Chinese government said in a statement.
“My personal inclination is, if factors permit, I want to allow a large number of people to go through because that has been the voice of a lot of people, both locally and overseas — wishing Hong Kong to proceed to normalcy as quickly as possible,” Chief Executive John Lee said at a press conference.
During the first phase of the reopening, four border checkpoints that were closed for nearly three years will resume operations, bringing the number of checkpoints up and running in the city to seven, Lee said. Currently, all but three checkpoints in Hong Kong are shut.
The Hong Kong government will decide when to expand the scale of border reopening after reviewing the situation with mainland authorities, Lee added.
Under a quota system, up to 60,000 people can travel from Hong Kong to mainland China each day. The same cap is also imposed on the number of travelers entering the city from the north, he said.
But Hong Kong residents in mainland China who want to return to the city are not bound by the quota system, and neither are mainland Chinese residents in Hong Kong going north.
Travelers will have to obtain a negative COVID-19 test result within 48 hours before departure. Those crossing via designated land border checkpoints have to register online to secure a quota slot.
Hong Kong is a semi-autonomous Chinese territory that borders Guangdong province in southeast China. People must pass through immigration to cross between the two. The border restrictions imposed since 2020 have hammered the city’s economy, especially the tourism sector.
Also starting from Sunday, the mainland will no longer require inbound travelers to quarantine, marking a major step toward fully reopening travel with the rest of the world.
Mainland Chinese residents will be allowed to visit Hong Kong for sightseeing purposes in a gradual and orderly manner, depending on the city’s capacity and pandemic situation, the Chinese government added.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s plan is to “let those who are destined to be infected get infected,” according to an official who viewed an internal document.
The official told the Chinese-language Epoch Times that the internal document has been circulating within the top echelons of the CCP, requesting that all regions should “let those who are destined to be infected get infected” and let this wave of infections reach and pass its peak before the CCP’s two sessions in 2023, which is usually held in March.
It indicates that the CCP’s plan is to have the entire population reach herd immunity on a full scale in two months, so that people will go back to work and production will resume at normal levels.
To this end, local governments and enterprises in China have issued new regulations requiring employees who test positive to go to work and not to take sick leave, or else their wages will be deducted.
The official asked to remain anonymous to protect his safety.
The Chinese-language Epoch Times was able to verify the existence of the internal document independently with two other sources.
Big Cities Criticized for Opening Up Too Slow
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) suddenly eased all pandemic control measures on Dec. 7, 2022, and a tsunami of infections immediately ensued across the country. The internal document reveals that the CCP purposely reopened society at this point because the economy was on the verge of collapse after three years of strict pandemic controls and lockdowns.
The Chinese authorities will also start issuing passports for Chinese citizens to travel abroad from Jan. 8, once again exposing the entire world to the virus, the same way it originally spread from Wuhan.
Song Wen (pseudonym), a public servant in Shanghai, spoke to The Epoch Times on Dec. 27. “There are people with positive test results everywhere in the mega-city, but the central inspection team still said that Shanghai is too slow in its opening. They criticized Shanghai, saying that the city should reopen quickly,” he said. “Some people also reported that many have died from COVID infections, but the leaders above said the intention is exactly to have those who are destined to be infected to get infected, and those who are destined to pass away should die as soon as possible. Some time ago, the media also made a similar statement, that let whoever destined to be infected get infected, let whoever destined to die from COVID die from it.”
According to Song, the leaders at the top also said that the society should be opened and return to normal production by March 2023; otherwise, China’s economy won’t be able to sustain itself.

Taiwanese media Newtalk also reported that a leaked social media chat among officials at Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, showed that the provincial level officials criticized the city for being “too slow to get into [COVID] positive” and told the municipal officials that the economy “can resume to a normal level of operation” if Wuxi can get “most residents contract COVID-19 once” by March 2023.
Massive Wave of Infections
Hu Ming (pseudonym), doctor of Shanghai Hongqiao Hospital, told The Epoch Times on Dec. 28 that almost all doctors and nurses in the hospital have tested positive for the virus.
“This is the first time in my ten years of medical practice that I have seen so many patients in the hospital. It is as crowded as a shopping mall. Almost all medics have been COVID-positive, and those who are seriously ill cannot come to work. With reduced staffing, for those who are still working, it is normal to work on a 12-hour rotation. And we have to continue to come to work the next day,” Hu said.
The recent massive infections and even deaths of COVID patients, among whom many were high-ranking officials, seem to confirm that the CCP is indeed carrying out a forced herd immunity campaign.
Before the CCP lifted its COVID restrictions, it instructed the public not to panic, saying that over 95 percent of COVID-positive cases are asymptomatic or causing very mild symptoms, as illnesses caused by Omicron are less severe than previous variants.
However, there were numerous reports on Chinese social media about “white lung” COVID patients, referring to CT images of lungs showing white spots or patches. The white lung images indicate a serious infection, as alveoli in the lungs are filled with exudative or inflammatory cells at this state.
Other Countries on High Alert as China Opens Its Border
The CCP’s National Health Commission announced on Dec. 26 that China would downgrade management of COVID-19 from Class A to Class B, and cancel quarantine requirements on inbound travelers from Jan. 8. Moreover, the country will gradually resume outbound tourism.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on Dec. 28 that the United States will require all travelers two years of age and older entering from China, Hong Kong, and Macao, to show proof of a negative COVID test within 48 hours prior to boarding an airplane, starting on Jan. 5. This requirement also applies to passengers arriving in the United States from China via a third country in transit.
Italy began testing incoming Chinese passengers on Dec. 26. On the first plane being tested, more than 50 percent of Chinese passengers on board were positive.
The Indian Ministry of Health said on Dec. 24 that it will be mandatory for travelers from China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand to provide proof of negative COVID tests, and if they test positive, they will be quarantined.
Japan began testing all inbound passengers from China or whoever had visited China in the past seven days on Dec. 30. A total of 92 inbound passengers from various countries tested positive on that day, 90 of whom had a history of travel to China.
Mizobe Hgasi, a resident of Tokyo, Japan, told The Epoch Times on Dec. 31 that the CCP’s border opening is terrible, as Chinese tourists will bring the virus with them into other countries, just as they did when the pandemic first broke out in Wuhan.
“They made a mess all over the world back then, and now we are going back to where we were three years ago,” Hgasi said. “The CCP’s conduct is immoral. It’s simply too scary.”
Amano Misuki, a calligraphy teacher in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, also expressed serious concerns with The Epoch Times on Dec. 31.
“I know an old saying in China, ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ Why did the CCP do this? The Japanese government should seal the border to China, the COVID tests they are doing will always have omissions. If tourists lead to a new outbreak again, the consequences will be unimaginable,” she said.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus posted on Twitter on Dec. 30, saying that: “In the absence of comprehensive information from China, it is understandable that countries around the world are acting in ways that they believe may protect their populations.”

New COVID Variant May Be Loose in China: Immunologically Suppressed Americans at Risk, Experts Warn

Experts predict that a new strain of COVID-19 may be spreading throughout China, which may pose a serious risk to immunologically suppressed Americans.
Chen Erzhen, vice president at Ruijin Hospital and a member of Shanghai’s COVID-19 expert advisory panel, recently admitted that “the spread of the epidemic in Shanghai is very wide, and it may have reached 70 percent of the population.” In response, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) imposed a new travel mandate affecting travelers from China, requiring passengers 2 years and older—regardless of nationality or vaccination status—to produce a negative COVID-19 test before they are allowed to board the plane. Those who tested positive for the virus 10 days before flying can provide proof of recovery from the virus instead of the test.
Considering Dr. Anthony Fauci’s proclamation eight months ago that the United States is no longer in the “pandemic phase” of COVID-19, and data showing that nearly 70 percent of the U.S. population has been fully vaccinated, the travel ban has caused speculation among some health experts as to what the CDC is trying to keep out of the United States. Several suggest that a new variant is on the loose in China, which could pose a serious risk to America’s immunologically suppressed population.
High Viral Loads Versus Natural Immunity
According to Dr. Syed Haider, China’s lockdowns were so severe that, while they were able to slow the spread of the virus, the program simply delayed the event they are going through now.
To Haider, an internal medicine specialist and founder of MyGoToDoc.com, the CDC’s new mandate may be an effort to “prevent new variants, which may be developing in the population of China, from entering the United States.”
“A lockdown will slow or stop the spread only until you end the lockdown,” Haider explained to The Epoch Times. “Now [China is] having to deal with COVID while everyone else has already done that for the past couple of years.”
Haider’s biggest concern is this possible new variant may also affect people with natural immunity, which is probably why the CDC’s mandate includes a requirement for proof of recovery, regardless of vaccine status.
“What’s going on in most countries like the United States is that people who got vaccinated are now suffering from suppressed immune systems and getting weaker with each booster, making them more prone to catching and spreading the virus,” Haider explained. “The most concerning thing is that the virus is multiplying out of control inside of their bodies, so they are developing higher viral loads, and then they are more likely to infect someone who even has natural immunity.”
As Haider explained, “the vaccinations are what drove the evolution of the virus, along with diminishing immunity in those who are vaccinated, leading to higher viral loads and different variants, which are more likely to evade natural immunity.” He noted how studies are now showing drops in immune functions with every shot. This is the same opinion expressed by Dr. Christina Parks, a cellular and molecular biologist, while providing testimony before the Michigan House of Representatives regarding HB4471 on Aug. 19, 2021.
“Those two things, higher viral loads and new variants that can evade natural as well as vaccine immunity, are leading to this outbreak in China, which is why it’s concerning for the rest of the world,” Haider insisted.
He also said many immune systems are now “shifting in the direction of IGG4 immunity, which is a type of antibody immunity meant for things that you’re not supposed to react to, like allergies.” For example, he noted how most people have natural IGG4 antibodies against peanuts. Because most immune systems are trained to mark this as not dangerous, the body won’t attack the allergen because it isn’t supposed to be harmful.
“You don’t want this for viruses,” Haider asserted. “We want the body to attack viruses. But for those with a second, fourth, fifth, and sixth vaccination shot, their entire immune response is shifting over to IGG4, which means their bodies are marking this virus with a sign that says, ‘this is not dangerous, let it multiply as much as it wants.’ Then it multiplies all over and fills up their organs with viral cells, and eventually—when it’s too late—their immune system realizes it’s all over now and they die, but not before passing on higher viral loads to everyone they come in contact with. This is why we are seeing people with natural immunity getting sick again and hospitals being more full than they have ever been. Death rates are going up. People are getting RSV flu and COVID 1, 2, and 3 all at once. Why is that? Because people have weakened immune systems.”
‘It Could Be ADE’
In the opinion of Dr. Simone Gold, what we are beginning to see “could be ADE.”
According to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) occurs “when the antibodies generated during an immune response recognize and bind to a pathogen, but they are unable to prevent infection. Instead, these antibodies act as a ‘Trojan horse,’ allowing the pathogen to get into cells and exacerbate the immune response.”
Data from an NIH study published Sept. 9, 2020, suggests anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies could exacerbate COVID-19 through ADE. On Sept. 14, 2021, the NIH admitted that ADE was an unavoidable problem in vaccine development.
“Since Asia was seemingly not as affected in 2020 as the rest of the globe, perhaps the mutations from the world’s mRNA vaccine rollout have made their way back to expose those countries, and [are] presenting more virulently because of antibody-dependent enhancement,” Gold told The Epoch Times.
Gold cited how the mutations of the SARS-CoV virus being caused by the mass mRNA vaccine rollout in the United States are similar to the problems that followed the use of Dengvaxia in a mass immunization program to inoculate children against the dengue virus in the Philippines in 2016.
On Dec. 22, 2015, the vaccine’s manufacturer, Sanofi Pasteur, announced that the Philippine government had granted marketing approval for “the first vaccine to be licensed for the prevention of dengue in Asia.” A year later, Sanofi Pasteur admitted the vaccine could worsen symptoms for people who had not previously contracted dengue and recovered. On March 1, 2019, the Philippine government announced it would file criminal charges against Sanofi Pasteur for the deaths of children who had been injected with its vaccine. A total of 730,000 children were vaccinated with Dengvaxia. On June 6, 2018, the Philippine government’s Public Attorney’s Office Chief Persida Acosta announced that its Department of Health declared the deaths of 87 children might have been caused by the vaccine.
Gold also suggested that China may be dealing with something completely new.
“It could be a new virus, as their bio-safety is sorely lacking and they perform gain-of-function research with regularity,” Gold suggested.
The NIH describes gain-of-function as “the gain of new functions by organisms through genetic changes, which can naturally occur or by experimental genetic modifications.”
“Gain-of-Function research on viruses is enhancing transmissibility, virus replication, virulence, host range, immune evasion or drug and vaccine resistance to get insights into the viral mechanisms, to create and analyze animal models, to accelerate drug and vaccine development and to improve pandemic preparedness,” the NIH explains further.
The Vanden Bossche Prediction
Haider also theorized that China may be seeing a new variant that’s “five or six variants in from the rest of the world.”
“This may be their first real exposure to COVID,” he said, suggesting “they may have never seen another variant before.”
“These people in China were vaccinated for the initial strain. Now they’re seeing a strain that’s been evolving for two years to specifically evade vaccine immunity,” Haider explained. “We are seeing recombination of the current variants. Omicron is starting to pick up some of the Delta mutations in its spike protein and some of the latest variants are showing very concerning upticks in mutations. Delta was more severe than the first strain. Now Omicron may be heading in that direction. So I do worry that what Geert Vanden Bossche predicted is happening as we speak.”
In May 2022, Geert Vanden Bossche, an independent virologist and vaccine expert who holds a doctorate in both veterinary medicine and virology, predicted (pdf) that SARS-CoV-2 would evolve into things far more dangerous.
“I SERIOUSLY expect that a series of new highly virulent and highly infectious SARS-CoV-2 (SC-2) variants will now rapidly and independently emerge in highly vaccinated countries all over the world and that they will soon spread at high pace,” he wrote, adding his expectation that the “current pattern of repetitive infections and relatively mild disease in vaccinees” would “soon aggravate and be replaced by severe disease and death.”
“Unless we immediately implement large-scale antiviral prophylaxis campaigns in highly vaccinated countries,” Vanden Bossche theorized, “there shall be no doubt that the pandemic will end by taking a huge toll on human lives.”

While the world is more focused on COVID-19 catastrophe unfolding China, worried about the American variant XBB.1.5 and also concerned about the collapse of the NHS in UK due to the COVID-19 surge…what is brewing in Japan that seems to be showing no respite has been largely ignored by the Western mainstream media and also virologist and variant trackers.
Since late November, Japan has been faced with a onslaught of a cluster of a variety of new SARS-CoV-2 variants and despite the country having one of the highest vaccination and boostered rates, infections and reinfection rates are skyrocketing in the country of about 123 million people. But since mid-December, not only has hospitalization rates and mortality rates increased, increasing disease severity especially among the fully vaccinated and otherwise healthy young adults are becoming a common occurrence. Interestingly, the older Japanese are simply contracting mild symptom initially upon infection but dying suddenly due to heart failures creating the suspicion that some of the new variants circulating in Japan could be exhibiting enhanced tropism for the heart.

New COVID Variant May Be Loose in China: Immunologically Suppressed Americans at Risk, Experts Warn

Experts predict that a new strain of COVID-19 may be spreading throughout China, which may pose a serious risk to immunologically suppressed Americans.
Chen Erzhen, vice president at Ruijin Hospital and a member of Shanghai’s COVID-19 expert advisory panel, recently admitted that “the spread of the epidemic in Shanghai is very wide, and it may have reached 70 percent of the population.” In response, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) imposed a new travel mandate affecting travelers from China, requiring passengers 2 years and older—regardless of nationality or vaccination status—to produce a negative COVID-19 test before they are allowed to board the plane. Those who tested positive for the virus 10 days before flying can provide proof of recovery from the virus instead of the test.
Considering Dr. Anthony Fauci’s proclamation eight months ago that the United States is no longer in the “pandemic phase” of COVID-19, and data showing that nearly 70 percent of the U.S. population has been fully vaccinated, the travel ban has caused speculation among some health experts as to what the CDC is trying to keep out of the United States. Several suggest that a new variant is on the loose in China, which could pose a serious risk to America’s immunologically suppressed population.
High Viral Loads Versus Natural Immunity
According to Dr. Syed Haider, China’s lockdowns were so severe that, while they were able to slow the spread of the virus, the program simply delayed the event they are going through now.
To Haider, an internal medicine specialist and founder of MyGoToDoc.com, the CDC’s new mandate may be an effort to “prevent new variants, which may be developing in the population of China, from entering the United States.”
“A lockdown will slow or stop the spread only until you end the lockdown,” Haider explained to The Epoch Times. “Now [China is] having to deal with COVID while everyone else has already done that for the past couple of years.”
Haider’s biggest concern is this possible new variant may also affect people with natural immunity, which is probably why the CDC’s mandate includes a requirement for proof of recovery, regardless of vaccine status.
“What’s going on in most countries like the United States is that people who got vaccinated are now suffering from suppressed immune systems and getting weaker with each booster, making them more prone to catching and spreading the virus,” Haider explained. “The most concerning thing is that the virus is multiplying out of control inside of their bodies, so they are developing higher viral loads, and then they are more likely to infect someone who even has natural immunity.”
As Haider explained, “the vaccinations are what drove the evolution of the virus, along with diminishing immunity in those who are vaccinated, leading to higher viral loads and different variants, which are more likely to evade natural immunity.” He noted how studies are now showing drops in immune functions with every shot. This is the same opinion expressed by Dr. Christina Parks, a cellular and molecular biologist, while providing testimony before the Michigan House of Representatives regarding HB4471 on Aug. 19, 2021.
“Those two things, higher viral loads and new variants that can evade natural as well as vaccine immunity, are leading to this outbreak in China, which is why it’s concerning for the rest of the world,” Haider insisted.
He also said many immune systems are now “shifting in the direction of IGG4 immunity, which is a type of antibody immunity meant for things that you’re not supposed to react to, like allergies.” For example, he noted how most people have natural IGG4 antibodies against peanuts. Because most immune systems are trained to mark this as not dangerous, the body won’t attack the allergen because it isn’t supposed to be harmful.
“You don’t want this for viruses,” Haider asserted. “We want the body to attack viruses. But for those with a second, fourth, fifth, and sixth vaccination shot, their entire immune response is shifting over to IGG4, which means their bodies are marking this virus with a sign that says, ‘this is not dangerous, let it multiply as much as it wants.’ Then it multiplies all over and fills up their organs with viral cells, and eventually—when it’s too late—their immune system realizes it’s all over now and they die, but not before passing on higher viral loads to everyone they come in contact with. This is why we are seeing people with natural immunity getting sick again and hospitals being more full than they have ever been. Death rates are going up. People are getting RSV flu and COVID 1, 2, and 3 all at once. Why is that? Because people have weakened immune systems.”
‘It Could Be ADE’
In the opinion of Dr. Simone Gold, what we are beginning to see “could be ADE.”
According to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) occurs “when the antibodies generated during an immune response recognize and bind to a pathogen, but they are unable to prevent infection. Instead, these antibodies act as a ‘Trojan horse,’ allowing the pathogen to get into cells and exacerbate the immune response.”
Data from an NIH study published Sept. 9, 2020, suggests anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies could exacerbate COVID-19 through ADE. On Sept. 14, 2021, the NIH admitted that ADE was an unavoidable problem in vaccine development.
“Since Asia was seemingly not as affected in 2020 as the rest of the globe, perhaps the mutations from the world’s mRNA vaccine rollout have made their way back to expose those countries, and [are] presenting more virulently because of antibody-dependent enhancement,” Gold told The Epoch Times.
Gold cited how the mutations of the SARS-CoV virus being caused by the mass mRNA vaccine rollout in the United States are similar to the problems that followed the use of Dengvaxia in a mass immunization program to inoculate children against the dengue virus in the Philippines in 2016.
On Dec. 22, 2015, the vaccine’s manufacturer, Sanofi Pasteur, announced that the Philippine government had granted marketing approval for “the first vaccine to be licensed for the prevention of dengue in Asia.” A year later, Sanofi Pasteur admitted the vaccine could worsen symptoms for people who had not previously contracted dengue and recovered. On March 1, 2019, the Philippine government announced it would file criminal charges against Sanofi Pasteur for the deaths of children who had been injected with its vaccine. A total of 730,000 children were vaccinated with Dengvaxia. On June 6, 2018, the Philippine government’s Public Attorney’s Office Chief Persida Acosta announced that its Department of Health declared the deaths of 87 children might have been caused by the vaccine.
Gold also suggested that China may be dealing with something completely new.
“It could be a new virus, as their bio-safety is sorely lacking and they perform gain-of-function research with regularity,” Gold suggested.
The NIH describes gain-of-function as “the gain of new functions by organisms through genetic changes, which can naturally occur or by experimental genetic modifications.”
“Gain-of-Function research on viruses is enhancing transmissibility, virus replication, virulence, host range, immune evasion or drug and vaccine resistance to get insights into the viral mechanisms, to create and analyze animal models, to accelerate drug and vaccine development and to improve pandemic preparedness,” the NIH explains further.
The Vanden Bossche Prediction
Haider also theorized that China may be seeing a new variant that’s “five or six variants in from the rest of the world.”
“This may be their first real exposure to COVID,” he said, suggesting “they may have never seen another variant before.”
“These people in China were vaccinated for the initial strain. Now they’re seeing a strain that’s been evolving for two years to specifically evade vaccine immunity,” Haider explained. “We are seeing recombination of the current variants. Omicron is starting to pick up some of the Delta mutations in its spike protein and some of the latest variants are showing very concerning upticks in mutations. Delta was more severe than the first strain. Now Omicron may be heading in that direction. So I do worry that what Geert Vanden Bossche predicted is happening as we speak.”
In May 2022, Geert Vanden Bossche, an independent virologist and vaccine expert who holds a doctorate in both veterinary medicine and virology, predicted (pdf) that SARS-CoV-2 would evolve into things far more dangerous.
“I SERIOUSLY expect that a series of new highly virulent and highly infectious SARS-CoV-2 (SC-2) variants will now rapidly and independently emerge in highly vaccinated countries all over the world and that they will soon spread at high pace,” he wrote, adding his expectation that the “current pattern of repetitive infections and relatively mild disease in vaccinees” would “soon aggravate and be replaced by severe disease and death.”
“Unless we immediately implement large-scale antiviral prophylaxis campaigns in highly vaccinated countries,” Vanden Bossche theorized, “there shall be no doubt that the pandemic will end by taking a huge toll on human lives.”
The vaccination program they had in China is doing the same thing it’s doing everywhere else it’s weakening the immune system.
I believe we’re at the beginning of a great catastrophe as Geert predicted. This white lung disease were seeing in China could possibly be here in the US already and it’s pretty scary.

They are doing everything in their power the cover up the danger of the vaccination program so they can continue to vax more people. How sick and how sad is that?

It is really scary to think about. The way I am currently dealing with it is denial*. I don't know how much longer I can use that tactic though.
*denial - as in maybe this isn't what Geert predicted and it's what Dr. Campbell says - just a mild omicron variant and the Chinese will get herd immunity and it will be over there in a few more weeks and the rest of the world will be fine and we and all those we love who did get vaxxed will be ok. Add in prayers for that to be true and all is good ... for now...

I like Dr. Campbell and I respect him but he’s been a day late and a dollar short throughout this whole pandemic in regard to the vaccination program.
And you know HD ... it’s a myth about the virus turning into a weaker phase. You helped to point that out and showed us what Geert taught. Campbell believes the myth.

I know and I agree with your assessment about Dr. Campbell. But denial is a wonderful 'drug'. I don't think it's too dangerous at this point because I know it's denial. In a few weeks we may not be able to use denial so I'm using it while I can. (Or until Geert actually says something about all of this definitively. His silence helps me deny...)

Hong Kong has the world’s highest covid death rate—again

It’s unclear how many people have died in mainland China as covid tears through its population.
What appears certain, as the World Health Organization indicated yesterday, is that Beijing is under-reporting its covid deaths. China reported a single new covid death on Wednesday (Jan. 4), bringing the official death toll to 5,259 (link in Chinese) — with only 28 of these since Dec. 1.
Hong Kong, though, is still reporting covid deaths. Though Beijing has brought the city under its direct authoritarian control, Hong Kong’s official covid statistics are still widely regarded as transparent and accurate.
And the picture is sobering.
A city of 7.4 million people with a GDP per capita that places it among the wealthiest nations, Hong Kong is currently recording the world’s highest rate of covid deaths per million people.
On Tuesday, the city recorded a seven-day average of 8.78 covid deaths per million, according to statistics aggregated by Our World in Data. That’s nearly six times the level in the US, and almost double the level of Botswana, which currently has the world’s second-highest death rate of 4.45 per million.
Hong Kong’s fatal covid repeat
Hong Kong is no stranger to a deadly covid wave. Last March, its severely under-vaccinated elderly population was particularly hard hit when the Omicron variant ripped through the city. At its peak, Hong Kong recorded a single-day fatality rate that surpassed the most deadly days of the pandemic in the US, when adjusted for population size.

It’s unclear how many people have died in mainland China as covid tears through its population.
What appears certain, as the World Health Organization indicated yesterday, is that Beijing is under-reporting its covid deaths. China reported a single new covid death on Wednesday (Jan. 4), bringing the official death toll to 5,259 (link in Chinese) — with only 28 of these since Dec. 1.
Hong Kong, though, is still reporting covid deaths. Though Beijing has brought the city under its direct authoritarian control, Hong Kong’s official covid statistics are still widely regarded as transparent and accurate.
And the picture is sobering.
A city of 7.4 million people with a GDP per capita that places it among the wealthiest nations, Hong Kong is currently recording the world’s highest rate of covid deaths per million people.
On Tuesday, the city recorded a seven-day average of 8.78 covid deaths per million, according to statistics aggregated by Our World in Data. That’s nearly six times the level in the US, and almost double the level of Botswana, which currently has the world’s second-highest death rate of 4.45 per million.

It's definitely concerning. I don't think we can evade what's coming down the pike, but when it gets here we'll know. Geert said there will be no denying it when it shows up. So I'm denying it while I can. I'm not letting my guard down, I'm not not-prepping because of my denial; I'm just giving myself some calming possibilities. Btw, I had an annual checkup type thing and when I asked, the dr told me covid in the area is way up. I assume Omicron mild variant because when I brought up XBB there was no reaction. But it's still out there circulating, evading the vaccine immunity. I'm not surprised, but hearing it officially was sobering.

New COVID Variant May Be Loose in China: Immunologically Suppressed Americans at Risk, Experts Warn

Experts predict that a new strain of COVID-19 may be spreading throughout China, which may pose a serious risk to immunologically suppressed Americans.
Chen Erzhen, vice president at Ruijin Hospital and a member of Shanghai’s COVID-19 expert advisory panel, recently admitted that “the spread of the epidemic in Shanghai is very wide, and it may have reached 70 percent of the population.” In response, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) imposed a new travel mandate affecting travelers from China, requiring passengers 2 years and older—regardless of nationality or vaccination status—to produce a negative COVID-19 test before they are allowed to board the plane. Those who tested positive for the virus 10 days before flying can provide proof of recovery from the virus instead of the test.
Considering Dr. Anthony Fauci’s proclamation eight months ago that the United States is no longer in the “pandemic phase” of COVID-19, and data showing that nearly 70 percent of the U.S. population has been fully vaccinated, the travel ban has caused speculation among some health experts as to what the CDC is trying to keep out of the United States. Several suggest that a new variant is on the loose in China, which could pose a serious risk to America’s immunologically suppressed population.
High Viral Loads Versus Natural Immunity
According to Dr. Syed Haider, China’s lockdowns were so severe that, while they were able to slow the spread of the virus, the program simply delayed the event they are going through now.
To Haider, an internal medicine specialist and founder of MyGoToDoc.com, the CDC’s new mandate may be an effort to “prevent new variants, which may be developing in the population of China, from entering the United States.”
“A lockdown will slow or stop the spread only until you end the lockdown,” Haider explained to The Epoch Times. “Now [China is] having to deal with COVID while everyone else has already done that for the past couple of years.”
Haider’s biggest concern is this possible new variant may also affect people with natural immunity, which is probably why the CDC’s mandate includes a requirement for proof of recovery, regardless of vaccine status.
“What’s going on in most countries like the United States is that people who got vaccinated are now suffering from suppressed immune systems and getting weaker with each booster, making them more prone to catching and spreading the virus,” Haider explained. “The most concerning thing is that the virus is multiplying out of control inside of their bodies, so they are developing higher viral loads, and then they are more likely to infect someone who even has natural immunity.”
As Haider explained, “the vaccinations are what drove the evolution of the virus, along with diminishing immunity in those who are vaccinated, leading to higher viral loads and different variants, which are more likely to evade natural immunity.” He noted how studies are now showing drops in immune functions with every shot. This is the same opinion expressed by Dr. Christina Parks, a cellular and molecular biologist, while providing testimony before the Michigan House of Representatives regarding HB4471 on Aug. 19, 2021.
“Those two things, higher viral loads and new variants that can evade natural as well as vaccine immunity, are leading to this outbreak in China, which is why it’s concerning for the rest of the world,” Haider insisted.
He also said many immune systems are now “shifting in the direction of IGG4 immunity, which is a type of antibody immunity meant for things that you’re not supposed to react to, like allergies.” For example, he noted how most people have natural IGG4 antibodies against peanuts. Because most immune systems are trained to mark this as not dangerous, the body won’t attack the allergen because it isn’t supposed to be harmful.
“You don’t want this for viruses,” Haider asserted. “We want the body to attack viruses. But for those with a second, fourth, fifth, and sixth vaccination shot, their entire immune response is shifting over to IGG4, which means their bodies are marking this virus with a sign that says, ‘this is not dangerous, let it multiply as much as it wants.’ Then it multiplies all over and fills up their organs with viral cells, and eventually—when it’s too late—their immune system realizes it’s all over now and they die, but not before passing on higher viral loads to everyone they come in contact with. This is why we are seeing people with natural immunity getting sick again and hospitals being more full than they have ever been. Death rates are going up. People are getting RSV flu and COVID 1, 2, and 3 all at once. Why is that? Because people have weakened immune systems.”
‘It Could Be ADE’
In the opinion of Dr. Simone Gold, what we are beginning to see “could be ADE.”
According to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) occurs “when the antibodies generated during an immune response recognize and bind to a pathogen, but they are unable to prevent infection. Instead, these antibodies act as a ‘Trojan horse,’ allowing the pathogen to get into cells and exacerbate the immune response.”
Data from an NIH study published Sept. 9, 2020, suggests anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies could exacerbate COVID-19 through ADE. On Sept. 14, 2021, the NIH admitted that ADE was an unavoidable problem in vaccine development.
“Since Asia was seemingly not as affected in 2020 as the rest of the globe, perhaps the mutations from the world’s mRNA vaccine rollout have made their way back to expose those countries, and [are] presenting more virulently because of antibody-dependent enhancement,” Gold told The Epoch Times.
Gold cited how the mutations of the SARS-CoV virus being caused by the mass mRNA vaccine rollout in the United States are similar to the problems that followed the use of Dengvaxia in a mass immunization program to inoculate children against the dengue virus in the Philippines in 2016.
On Dec. 22, 2015, the vaccine’s manufacturer, Sanofi Pasteur, announced that the Philippine government had granted marketing approval for “the first vaccine to be licensed for the prevention of dengue in Asia.” A year later, Sanofi Pasteur admitted the vaccine could worsen symptoms for people who had not previously contracted dengue and recovered. On March 1, 2019, the Philippine government announced it would file criminal charges against Sanofi Pasteur for the deaths of children who had been injected with its vaccine. A total of 730,000 children were vaccinated with Dengvaxia. On June 6, 2018, the Philippine government’s Public Attorney’s Office Chief Persida Acosta announced that its Department of Health declared the deaths of 87 children might have been caused by the vaccine.
Gold also suggested that China may be dealing with something completely new.
“It could be a new virus, as their bio-safety is sorely lacking and they perform gain-of-function research with regularity,” Gold suggested.
The NIH describes gain-of-function as “the gain of new functions by organisms through genetic changes, which can naturally occur or by experimental genetic modifications.”
“Gain-of-Function research on viruses is enhancing transmissibility, virus replication, virulence, host range, immune evasion or drug and vaccine resistance to get insights into the viral mechanisms, to create and analyze animal models, to accelerate drug and vaccine development and to improve pandemic preparedness,” the NIH explains further.
The Vanden Bossche Prediction
Haider also theorized that China may be seeing a new variant that’s “five or six variants in from the rest of the world.”
“This may be their first real exposure to COVID,” he said, suggesting “they may have never seen another variant before.”
“These people in China were vaccinated for the initial strain. Now they’re seeing a strain that’s been evolving for two years to specifically evade vaccine immunity,” Haider explained. “We are seeing recombination of the current variants. Omicron is starting to pick up some of the Delta mutations in its spike protein and some of the latest variants are showing very concerning upticks in mutations. Delta was more severe than the first strain. Now Omicron may be heading in that direction. So I do worry that what Geert Vanden Bossche predicted is happening as we speak.”
In May 2022, Geert Vanden Bossche, an independent virologist and vaccine expert who holds a doctorate in both veterinary medicine and virology, predicted (pdf) that SARS-CoV-2 would evolve into things far more dangerous.
“I SERIOUSLY expect that a series of new highly virulent and highly infectious SARS-CoV-2 (SC-2) variants will now rapidly and independently emerge in highly vaccinated countries all over the world and that they will soon spread at high pace,” he wrote, adding his expectation that the “current pattern of repetitive infections and relatively mild disease in vaccinees” would “soon aggravate and be replaced by severe disease and death.”
“Unless we immediately implement large-scale antiviral prophylaxis campaigns in highly vaccinated countries,” Vanden Bossche theorized, “there shall be no doubt that the pandemic will end by taking a huge toll on human lives.”

I think we here spend far more time reading about Covid then most doctors do. They are told what the CDC says and that’s about it. Especially if they’re corporate like Kaiser. Tyson and Fareed, they’re real doctors.

I had reservations with it too. She was ventilating very adequately, the unknown is how much oxygen was actually getting into her bloodstream.
She looks more like a panic attack to me. I've seen people hyperventilating to the point of passing out. The aftermath of her "death" isn't shown so she might have started breathing on her own just fine afterwards. When you blow off all your co2, your cerebral vessels constrict causing unconsciousness. Once the co2 builds back up (from slower respirations) you'll regain consciousness.

To be fair, these aren't related to mask wearing. Hyperventilation happened a long time before masks were invented and continues to happen. I've worked ems and ER for a long time, I have yet to see anyone having issues exhaling co2 because of a mask. I have seen multiple people that can't breathe in due to them, but no issues exhaling. They don't trap air going out and barely filter air coming in. Talking about surgical masks that we are required to wear, not n95s. Properly fitted n95 masks do filter air coming in, but do not do an adequate job with covid. The first time I caught it was in full PPE with an n95, goggles, gown, gloves, and face shield. Everyone that went in that patient's room caught it from her. This was in July 2020.
