Oh, goodie, which means our prices will likely go from around 12 to 15 dollars a gallon. It doesn't seem "as bad" because they sell it per liter but last time it was about 5 or 6 dollars a gallon in the US, it was 10 dollars a gallon here.I've seen several posts, no article links, on facespy this afternoon that gas prices are predicted to hit $6 to $7 a gallon this summer. I did a quick google search and am not finding anything about the price increase being this high.

A lot of our costs are taxes though I have no idea at what point the government would break down and lower them, they are saying they won't lower taxes on heating oil and gas but they may also face riots if people actually start freezing and/or serious black outs become a way of life.

Biden on High Gas Prices: You Can Save Money if You Buy Electric Cars
Charlie Spiering3-3 minutes 11/23/2021
President Joe Biden promoted his efforts to lower gas prices on Tuesday, but he reminded Americans they would save more money on gas if they owned electric cars.
“For the hundreds of thousands of folks who bought one of those electric cars, they’re going to save $800 to $1000 in fuel costs this year,” Biden said, referring to the $112,595 electric Hummer pickup he test drove at a General Motors factory in Detroit earlier this month.
The president appeared frustrated that some Americans continue blaming his environmental agenda for higher gas prices, dismissing it as a “myth.”
“My effort to combat climate change is not raising the price of gas, what it’s doing is increasing the availability of jobs,” Biden insisted.
He claimed his government subsidies for green energy and electric cars would only help Americans get jobs and save more money.
“Let’s do that. Let’s beat climate change. With more extensive innovation and opportunities,” Biden said, claiming the economy would be “less vulnerable to these kinds of price hikes” on fossil fuels.
The president notably suspended all federal leases on oil and gas and shut down the Keystone XL pipeline after taking office, which hurt the amount of domestic oil production.
Domestic oil production was on a steady rise in the United States when former president Donald Trump was in office until the coronavirus pandemic hit. Domestic oil production continues to lag even though the demand for oil has recovered.
Biden still has no plan to increase the domestic production of oil, but he frequently complains that OPEC+ nations are not releasing enough oil to the world.
The president has also resisted leveling an export ban of oil from the United States or loosening blending regulations and standards to alleviate the cost of production.
Biden announced plans to release 50 million gallons of oil from the Strategic Oil Reserves to help lower prices but cautioned Americans it would take a while to have an effect on gas prices.
“While our combined actions will not solve the problem of high gas prices overnight, it will make a difference,” he said. It will take time, but before long, you should see the price of gas drop where you fill up your tank.”
Biden’s efforts did not immediately have the desired effect on the oil market as prices rose over three percent per barrel on Tuesday morning after his announcement.
He can kiss my a**. I wouldnt own an electric car unless it was given to me!
NH now at about 18cents per KWHR.
Who the F has any MONEY to buy a $40,000 electric car??? This piece of TRASH in the White House is Loony Tunes!!!
Question for everyone, just who is making the batteries for these electric cars?
Just how toxic are these batteries and what about the recycling process?
I have no idea. I was just guessing. So almost as much as buying a cheap house I guess. What do they cost? More than $60,000? That's crazy. Regular working people can't afford that. These commies are insane.Have you priced non-electric vehicles recently, especially trucks? $40 is an entry level price.

Wow. I'm not up on house prices, but when I bought my dumpy farmhouse 22 years I we paid $57,000. 3 acres too.A "cheap" house in my area will run you about $229K In some of the smaller towns that are a bit out of the urban area might run you $69K. Meemur and others that live in Iowa, in or just outside of small towns might have a better idea than myself on housing prices. Last time I looked at a rural home/acreage the seller was asking $229K for the house and one acre and the place was a dump, needed a new well and new septic, and this was nearly 20 years ago now.
Is it stupidity or hidden but deliberate enmity? As someone wrote if our leaders were just plain STUPID half the time something would be in our favor. Yet somehow it never is. Wonder why...?This level of abysmal stupidity shocks me - NOT!
Good points. Here's another:I'm lost here..............why are EV even a thing?
1) Mining of minerals for batteries will leave us depleting resources faster and sooner than we do with oil/gas
2) Where do you get them charged..........and how long does it take to charge them?.........you can gas up a car good to be good for another 200-400 miles in a few mins. How long does it take to recharge the battery in the EV and how many miles is that good for?
3) How many rechargers to they get before the battery needs replaced?
4) How green is the manufacturing of batteries and their disposal?
5) How green will it be to replace gas reserves with electrical power grids to recharge all the EVs?
In 2023 the WEC (world endurance championship) with sports prototype racing (Like at Lemans 24 hrs race) have been intensively developing alternative fuels. Including clean burning gas made from recycling of land fill garbage and/or human waste.........and hydrogen cars which fuel can be made from sea water and the only by product is oxygen and clean water..
With ideas being pushing in certain forms of motorsports like this as the laboratory for alterative energy in transportation in the future.......it seems to me like electric is going to be a problem child not a solution in the future. Not to be outdone there is an all electrical F1 racing series known as FE or Formula Electric out there but the WEC is the area that really holds promise to the kind of personal/commercial transportation solution society needs while allowing for responsible human stewardship of the planet.
Of course, but their goal is the destruction of America. Can save even more, if the dems re-open the pipeline, allow for more drilling and quit pushing the climate cult BS
China is making them, I forget where all the minerals are mined at, some come from Africa, some come from Brazil, they are highly toxic to manufacture, and are an issue when it comes to recycling, etc. the biden family is heavily invested in nickle and a few of the other ores used to make the batteries, there is a thread about their investments here at TBK.
You mean those electric cars that require the unavailable chips? Those electric cars with significant fire risks? Those electric cars with charging time issues that impact distance issues? Those expensive electric cars with significant maintenance issues and costs?
Those electric cars?
Idiot. Every time he opens his mouth he proves to be more foolish.
Go figure, just a few months and a dollar shy of me winning the gas poll at work...smhI've seen several posts, no article links, on facespy this afternoon that gas prices are predicted to hit $6 to $7 a gallon this summer. Saw on news about $6.17 in LA.I've seen several posts, no article links, on facespy this afternoon that gas prices are predicted to hit $6 to $7 a gallon this summer. I did a quick google search and am not finding anything about the price increase being this high.
Nobody, not even this mental vegetable, is THAT stupid.
They are goading us.
Amen!FJB

I don't want one even then !!He can kiss my a**. I wouldnt own an electric car unless it was given to me!
Yeah, prices are nuts. I bought my 1 ton new last year for $59K, now that same truck is $80KHave you priced non-electric vehicles recently, especially trucks? $40 is an entry level price.
This was the difficulty with BOTh the VW Diesel (before its EPA denoument) and the Prius (before it became "just a car" instead of a yuppie symbol.) Parts for these were EXPENSIVE, virtually unobtanium, and repairs could be effected only by those "trained in the trade."I don't think the insurance industry has fully weighed in on the EV. Collision and comprehensive costs have to be based on the cost to repair. At this point things like parts and service are unimaginable for these new startup brands. EV owners will be penalized by every aspect of the fire risk, whether it be charging at home, driving, towing or scrapping. The trade in value of an EV with depleted batteries is what? (negative?) Cost of gas is nothing compared to these costs.
Pretty much, but I do have to say I'm trying to drive my big V8 pickup truck like a Prius. I take my foot off the gas pedal as often as possible. He can kiss my a**. I wouldnt own an electric car unless it was given to me!
