Belated prayers for all involved. Have the two older daughters seen their sister yet?
Oh, yes! She's been hugged and kissed, and saved from loving mauling several times! Of course, the mechanics of it all fascinates them, with the 2 year old gleefully informing me "the baby came out of mama's vagina!" Of course, they will repeat this- to their parents mortification, at every chance, including at church or the supermarket! I think I need to help them practice what to say to people who compliment her! LOL!
The girls are very happy, because they have insisted all along that the new baby MUST. be a girl. The adults were sort of hoping for a boy to carry on the family name... all except DS, who confided in me that he was hoping for another girl... he adores his daughters. And he treats them very much like he would a son... they go everywhere and do everything with him, and the older two are very mechanical already. (The oldest, at 20 months, rearranged all of DS'S shop drawers one afternoon, and he said she actually had everythung categorized quite well... cutting implements together in one drawer, etc!)
Today we need to get Ellie to the pediatrician to get checked out. Need to go to the town clerk's office to get her birth certificate. And I think I need to make a Wal-Mart run for some mittens, a couple of hat's (we had a hard time getting her warmed up last night... it's winter here, and their house is brand new and snug, but they're all warm blooded and usually keep it pretty cool.
They lost all their infant clothes when their house burned in 2019. If I was home (or if we had moved my sewing machines and supplies before this, but I've been putting that off so I could do holiday sewing) I coukd whip up anything she needs in a hurry, but I guess it won't hurt to give the evil empire a few BUCKS.
Thanks everyone! I'm absolutely certain that prayers help.
