Some grocery stores in Charlotte, NC are opening their stores for those 60 and over from 6 to 9 a.m. It was great, just a few older people in each store, with everyone else that was younger, sitting in their cars. I went to two stores that I have never been to, a large Latino grocery and one in the "hood". These stores were stocked more than the big name stores, I was shocked. For the first time in 3 weeks, I was able to get eggs, vegetables, bread and chicken stock for me and my elderly neighbors, who are in their 90's and have no business going anywhere. I didn't bother with the meat aisle, they've raised the prices too much - I'd rather make meals with beans, rice and veggies.
The Mexican markets around me are much better. They truck their own produce and eggs and such direct from the ranches and have a better stock of items so Im told. We are not leaving the property and not to be cold blooded but I am calling in markers right about now and have people doing things for me.
