I'll need to plot those numbers to see if the rate is accelerating or remaining constant. But it's not going up by a factor of 100. I'm definitely NOT saying to blow off the situation, but we need to work with some reality. The Chinese have made that a damn hard thing to do.

I had to wear an N95 mask to do some moldy renovation in a cold room. I managed five to ten minutes before taking it off. It was scratchy and my cohorts kept asking me to repeat things. Hot weather would have been unbearable.

Once we're mostly at home due to shutting down public events and offices, the only people who really need these masks are going into medical facilities or work with the public. If you have them already, that's good. Don't pay scalper prices though.

I bought a bottle of the OTC pain med my elder prefers. This was more for peace of mind than expecting it to be used.

I am planning end of life legal paperwork within the next ten days or so. Insurance companies will fold before paying out on all the deaths we may see, so I'm doing what I can as though there will be no insurance money but with optimism that our legal framework will survive.

Prison overcrowding will be relieved. Homeless encampments will go away. Nursing homes, shelters, and any other place people are warehoused will empty out.
I'm worried about troops, cops, and firefighters. When they drop out ... I can't go there. Y2K on steroids and I'm too old to run this time.

Whether or not he’s correct is another thing.

Expectations are like that, sometimes correct and sometimes not....

This may be the first data free global pandemic, Searcher. We may end up with a billion dead and have no scientific data to understand what happened. I know we have no symptom showing virus shredders, plus the Super shredders, but what I don't know because the Chinese doctored the data is what global impact either of them will have. Thus is why we are going to have to sit here. Chewing our fingernails another two or three weeks, hopefully without daily news releases saying that sick people are popping up. all over the globe.⁹

You have a new ie novel virus infecting a virgin population with no immunity and using the airborne vector and with carriers showing ,some of them anyway, no symptoms, shedding viral load and flying around the globe will nilly. Yep, this virus is about as bad as it CAN, NOT WILL GET, BUT CAN F GET AND IT WILL BE CLEARER BY VALENTINE'S DAY whether we are going worst case. So sit back, pop a brewski, and wait for the end of the world. or not!!

You gotta look at the big picture and then decide.

During an unprecedented outbreak of a killer virus, is it more likely that the bins outside the crematorium contain carpet scraps or bodies?

For those of you who suck at math..

Those sites that show charts for virus growth..

A straight line is a constant velocity. If it's close to horizontal, it is slow. The closer it is to vertical means it is fast.

If the line is curling upward, it is accelerating. If it starts curling down to horizontal it is slowing down.

**NOTE** the scale of the graph can stretch the line making velocity dependant upon the scale, but you can always tell if it's curling up or down.

Right now, growth is accelerating

Saved, to glorify God.
MAKE SUPERSIZED ALCOHOL WIPES!
( It’s not rocket science or exact measuring.)

Get a pack of at least 80 THICK BABY WIPES
Put them in a Ziplock FREEZER bag.(sturdier bag)
Get a 16 ounce bottle of 70% or higher rubbing type alcohol. (Or half a quart bottle )
Dump the whole 16ounce bottle of alcohol into the bag of wipes,

There should be some loose alcohol left in the bag of wipes after you added it, or else pour more alcohol in. Separate and turn groups of the wipes in the alcohol, so the inner wipes are equally alcohol soaked.
When done, the bag should still have some small amount of unabsorbed, loose alcohol.

The wipes will gradually absorb the alcohol and be
IDEAL for disinfecting hands, contaminated surfaces or items like phone, keys, steering wheel, Tv remote or anything you have to touch, or may have touched with unclean hands.
Carry some of them them with you and have lots of them at home.

The baby wipes that we have are a hundred count.... Will leave the extra twenty....

Since we only have quart and larger bottles of alcohol, I guess that half a quart bottle of alcohol should work.... Seems a waste of good JD Black, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made.... May use that old bottle of Everclear.....

^^^ I've never seen the film version but I highly recommend the book. One of the most compelling books (based on true events) I have ever read. Scary too.

Tom, the issue is that we are just getting the first cases in the rest of the world. We are at the same phase today that China was at just a few weeks ago. We know things are bat-soup crazy in China right now. The million dollar question is will it be like that for us in a few weeks?

I see a huge problem with this if they do not have someone monitoring his movements 24/7. Did they really diagnose this guy and then just send him home with him promising that he will not go out????!!!!! How do we know he doesn't go out to get his favorite booze, coffee, etc? They need to have an ankle bracelet or deputy stationed right outside the home to make sure he stays. I can't believe what I am reading.

Not that most of us need to be told there is more to this virus than the run of the mill flu bug but you don’t run to immediate cremation for a seasonal influenza victim.

Apparently. all the supply donations that countries and individuals have been sending to the Chinese Red Cross are not distributed. I saw a video by someone last night that said that volunteers are helping to supply hospitals and the diversity of donations means that they have to sort through and separate everything. There are not enough volunteers or time to do this. Also, the Chinese government does not want the people to perceive that help is coming from anyone but them.

About a week ago, I saw that an LDS leader had made a large donation of protective gear from the LDS warehouses. I wonder if they were left to rot like this.
