I just wanted to let everyone know here about our new line of Food Storage, as many TBK members have purchased Berkey Water Filters because of our last post on TBK and we really appreciated the response here. Anything purchased does support TBK, as we are making a donation today.

We are Happy to Announce that we now offer Wise Food Storage!

http://www.directive21.com/wisefoodstorage.html

We looked around for not only Great food storage for emergencies, but also a food storage menu and taste that we know you will enjoy.

Here is a quick description:

Wise Foods Grab and Go Food Kits are perfect for any unplanned emergency. Our ready-made meals are packed in airtight NITROGEN PACKED Mylar pouches, and then encased in durable plastic containers. Our unique packaging process removes the majority of the residual oxygen through a nitrogen flushing practice. Wise Food Storage Grab and Go Food Kits carry up to a 25 year shelf life, with absolutely no rotation needed.

We currently offer Gourmet Emergency Grab and Go Food Kits, but if anyone would like multiple quantities or a years supply, please call us at 877-886-3653. On quantity orders, we have plans to offer a free Berkey System. Call for details.

It's nice to see that you're making a donation to tb. Thanks! If I can ever scrape together the money, I plan to buy a Berkey.

Are two 250 - 350 calorie meals a day enough to keep you going?

Great question, you would eat more depending on your needs and activity level.

Also, each packet has more than 1 serving in it, so the calories are more than 350 if you eat the entire packet.

About 1,200 calories a day to stay alive and not lose weight.
This is without no workload.

The military feeds about 3,000 or more calories a day during hard working times such as battle and boot camp.

The most dense form of calories is FAT so try to keep alot in your diet. It does go bad but the best way to store it is canned goods such as tuna in oil and not water.

TVP is not the best way to provide protien IMNSHO
-- Soy: if it is so good for post-menupausla women, how can it be healthy for pre-pubesant children? [tm]

Now if you could only provide organically raised food. No GMO, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, synthetic hormones, irradiation. Don't want that crap in my body.

California regulations require testing. Maybe things have updated in the last few months but there was debate as to which test protocols to use. Until then things are on hold. Road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Thanks for the info, it depends on what kind or part of the soy we are talking about, but from what I have seen from Wise Food Storage, they offer a superior product.
I looked for the thread you were talking about, and saw the lawsuit filing, and saw the major differences, as Wise food storage packets are not 455 calories in a packet, but are well over 1000 calories per most packets. It seems from the buckets that costco was selling, the claims were not substantiated, but I am not sure of what happened with the lawsuit.
