ALERT Widespread wireless service outages

Interesting is that now Facetime is having issues, and Whatsapp is having issues, but more so in Europe. Volume related maybe? It's interesting to watch the cascading effect if nothing else.

I've been having trouble today. My brother tried to call me and when I called back I could not get through for 5 or 6 tries. Got the message- your call cannot be completed at this time. Finally got through and found out my Aunt passed away :shk:

A Public Safety Alert just went out through the emergency alert system: "Local cell phone carrieres are experiencing outages that are impacting 9-1-1 services. Extent of outages are unknown. If unable to reach 9-1-1 for an emergency please call (303)980-7300 or call from a landline"

Are you sure about that?

Okay, that's a sobering development.

Our Verizon is working on the other side of the mountains from LA but neighbors phone wasn't an hour or so ago. She has one of those minor services not sure what. She thought it was because she was playing a game. It was dead when we tried to call.

A fiber backbone was cut in Wilmington, NC.

I frequently opine that our comms are incredibly fragile and fiber is the weakest point.

You will notice as you dig into this too that the telecoms were hit about 10am MST, and the banks started getting hit at 5pm MST what are the odds of a natural occuring cascade happening that widespread, in the same time block?

Do we know if this is the root cause for everything we are seeing as an outage or is it mainly the cause of the T-Mobile problem?

(snip)
TUCSON, Ariz. -- If you're having trouble making calls or connecting to the internet on your cellphone, you're not alone.

CBS Tucson affiliate KOLD-TV reports several major cellphone providers -- including Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile -- were having service issues on Monday.

The website downdetector.com, which compiles users' reports of outages, posted maps highlighting a number of different areas with problems:

Spectrum customers were also having difficulty Monday, CBS affiliate WNCN-TV in North Carolina reports. Officials from the company said a backbone fiber line was cut in the city of Wilmington and more than a dozen crews worked to repair the line.

They never fill in the technical blanks.

You have to kinda guess from what tidbits of info that leak out.

I'm not gonna call any of the cell NOCs that I have access to over this one. (National Operations Centers)

I save that for outages that affect me.

I just got back from a jaunt to Chena Hot Springs, about an hour from North Pole. Got there - they were so happy to have guests after Covid, etc. BUT: no water (pump out), no internet, no phone. No matter - we just came for the air and the hot springs. Funny how priorities can change. I feel recharged, relaxed, and renewed. Even if I couldn’t get a phone line out - something about being really remote and hauling water to flush toilets puts things in perspective. Lovely there though, wish I could take you...

Spaceweather updates once a day, Solar Ham updates every thirty minutes. There's a thread in the unexplained about the Sun Dimming, that's what happened right before the Carrington Event in the 1800's people noticed that the Sun had dimmed taking on a whiter more silvery appearance. If this is the case the Sun could be putting out energy that we don't yet understand that could be affecting satellites and thus communications here on Earth.

That is tricky... fits in the the stuff from the remote viewer guy's discussion. (In the Q thread) Said the sun was going to be affected somehow, very soon. (along with all the usual end of the world, False Flag stuff)

Att is fine in St Charles County, Missouri (outside of St. louis). My SIL (who handles outages for different sections of the US for Charter) said his Messenger was down for a while about 3 pm CST. He is off work today, so unaware of any other problems.
