It is going to be fun to watch Trump "run the table".
Probably won't lose any states. MIGHT lose Texas to Cruz, but I doubt it.
It is going to be difficult for the Repukes to NOT nominate him. If they do nominate him, he kills the Republicans(As we know them today). If they don't, he kills the Republicans forever.

What is the downside?

Wait and see.

Texas is big.. A lot of delegates and it is a winner-takes-all state.

Trump should win by a wide margin, unless they stasrt pulling the same crap they did the last election.

I voted Cruz. I would love to see Trump skunk them all, but it asked who I think will win, not who I hope will win. I think my vote in most state and all federal elections means nothing.

I am leery that Trump has got his voters organized. There is a whole methodology needed to actually translate polling numbers into caucus votes. The two are not the same.

If your votes means nothing, then Bush will win Iowa.

I'll decline voting on this particular poll - since the results show which TB2K user voted for which candidate (and, yes, I realize that this is only on this poll - not actual voting).

No offense intended towards 'Baloo', who started this thread/poll . . .

Who will win the Iowa Caucus for GOP? Vote now; closes at 7pm.

Should have the choice of it doesn't matter, we all lose anyway you cut it.

Can't vote. Still think the whole field is a joke.

Why would someone care if they knew who you voted for in a forum poll, seems a bit paranoid for no reason at all......and if declining to vote in the poll why make it public that you are not gonna vote......people sure do some strange things in life

And yeah, I voted Trump and am not expecting someone to show up at my home to break my arms or firebomb my the house....

I voted Rubio and here's why...

I think the latest news about Cruz's campaign shaming the voters by mail, and Cruz himself stating that he would not apologize, will cause lots of his voters to choose someone else. They were only pro-Cruz because they didn't like Trump for some reason. (The old lesser of two evils thing again.)

So, they still don't like Trump, which leaves them with Rubio.

I am hoping they'll decide to vote for Trump, but I'll stick with Rubio for this poll.

Trump has a 5pt to 8pt lead depending on what poll you read. I think Cruz will be second place and probably Rubio 3rd.

I voted Trump, however we don't know to what extent the voter fraud will affect it. I don't have any faith in our voting system so who knows? Those who take care of those things don't want Trump.

Bev, did you miss the Rubio comment on doing something quite similar to Cruz's mailing??

Personally, I don't like any of the candidates--either party. For the poll I voted that Trump will win in Iowa. I'm not planning of voting for him but I don't honestly know who I will vote for. Every election seems to come down to voting for the lesser of two evils for me.

I think Trumps going to win it. Personally I don't like any of them, but I dislike Trump the least. I'm taking a wait and see attitude about ability to run the country. While he may be the best man for the job (at least he's had a job, been bankrupt and got out of bankruptcy....more than you can say for most politicians) there's just something about him that reminds me of Benito Mussolini. Don't know why....but he does. could just be my weird mind, but it does bother me.

Sorry-I did not mean to do that. Plus, how do you see that-I can't find that option to see votes?

I will vote Trump for one reason--he will build a wall. It's really the only issue that matters. On average 10,000 people illegally cross the Mexican border every year. This influx is bankrupting this nation. If its not stopped in the next term I think our country is over. IMHO its why Falwell, Sessions and Palin support Trump too.

I'm generalizing, but lots of people here are angry. I expect both sets of caucus goers to give DC and the party leaders the middle finger salute by voting for Trump and Sanders.

Lots of people dislike these candidates but they dislike establishment candidates even more and want to send a strong message.

I also think Rubio will knock out Cruz for 2nd place, just based on what I'm hearing here.

I find it interesting how many are willing to listen to sound bites instead of true vetting. Then those who willing choose to have no skin in the game.

Neither here nor there.
I haven't voted, but I see no one has voted for Carson. His poll numbers are low here in Iowa but don't second guess him, he has quite the following with the 48+ year old crowd and these people are more likely to vote than the 20 something's. that said I think he'd make a better Veep than POTUS and an even better Surgeon General.

Ron Paul won it in 2012. I'm thinking Rand will win it this year.

Ain't. gonna. happen. The shine has worn off of the Paul legacy and too many people still remember the whole fraud with the Paul/Bachmann that involved a local congress critter during the 2008 campaign.

Just to reiterate - the poll is asking who we think is going to win Iowa, not who we are personally voting for. I believe Trump is going to win Iowa, but that doesn't mean I'm voting for him or anyone else in particular. I'm still undecided about who will get my vote.

I voted for Rubio - but only because I think he's been "endorsed" by TPTB Rinos. Its not that I want him.

I sorta wish Trump would trump, but I don't think its going to happen. Too much skulduggery like happened in 2012.

As to selection of one candidate over another, the results of this poll will be confused because some (like me) are attempting to predict the Iowa Caucus outcome - and others, probably most given the Trump results, are voting the candidate of their choice.

Got a question folks-I'm on the GOPe mailing list, as well as the Socialist/Democrat mailing list. Yeah I know I'm weird but I like to know both sides of a story. And today alone I've gotten TWO emails from the GOPe on behalf of Marco Rubio. On the socialist side two for Bernie over the weekend. Both of them asking for money.
Thought that kind of odd. Has anyone else been receiving party emails like this?
My gut tells me Trump has the GOPe sewed up tonight in Iowa, and Bernie for the Socialists.

From Political Room:

Trump Leads Cruz by 9 Points in Iowa on the Eve of the Caucuses – 34-25%
http://overtimepolitics.com/trump-le...aucuses-34-25/

Posted on January 31, 2016 by Fred in Polls // 0 Comments

In approximately 12 and a half hours, the Iowa caucuses will begin in earnest. Right now, it appears as though Donald Trump is going to do quite well in the Hawkeye State, as he currently leads Ted Cruz by 9 points. 34-25%

Unlike the Democratic caucus, the rules are much simpler for delegates on the Republican side. There are no viability thresholds and the process is much more straightforward. If you get a little more than 3.7% of the statewide vote, you will be walking away with at least 1 delegate.

How the undecideds caucus could make or break one of the lower tier candidates, or it could add a delegate to any of the front runners.

Trump holds the lead among all demographics except those making under $10,000 a year, and Hispanics, which are both led by Cruz.

Keep an eye out for the Delegate Predictions feature which will be coming out later tonight. The final simulations still need to run, and it should give us a pretty clear look regarding who will win Iowa tomorrow.

Results:
Donald Trump – 34%
Ted Cruz – 25%
Marco Rubio – 14%
Ben Carson – 7%
Jeb Bush – 5%
Rand Paul – 3%
John Kasich – 3%
Chris Christie – 1%
Carly Fiorina – 1%
Other – 2%
