Let's see if we even make it to the next election yet. Anything else is presumption in this day and age. But, if we make it....and if they don't knock Ron off yet, I'll be voting for him.

I think it's time for either a female or a black president. Yup. I just think we need to break that glass ceiling. Is it going to be Hillary or Obama. I think I am leaning toward Obama.

I only listed the top nine I thought had the best chances, but there are still votes for 'other'.

I would be interested in knowing who 'other' is, if you don't mind posting.

I'd bet those others are Duncan Hunter and/or Fred Thompson.

So what would be the point of supporting anyone but Paul?
Unless you hate America.

:stfu:

Maybe Huckabee, maybe Thompson, maybe Ron Paul. But if I don't support Paul it isn't because I hate America, some of these Ron Paul supporters are becoming way beyond annoying. Got a book several of you should look into.

I'll admit, probably wouldn't hurt me to crack it open again myself but I sure don't think a good number of Ron Paul supporters are doing his cause any good at all by being total horses' behinds about those who don't initially support him. Would be funny if the main reason his campaign flopped was because of his supporters, they would probably still blame Bush and the MSM and the CFR and Karl Rove :lkick:

I'm sorry but none of the other candidates support the constitution not at all.

It is some sort of stockholm syndrome to pretend otherwise.

There is simply no pretending that they do.

I would like to believe everyone here will wake up and support the constitution of the united states.

Sure you can argue with Ron Paul about the periphery of what the Constitution means - in fact I do on a couple of issues - but you cannot argue that he has not made the effort to contort all his position to that which is exposed by the constitution nor that most of his positions reflect the clear language thereof.

The Constitution is a document I and many others here have sworn to protect and defend from all enemies foreign and domestic.

Take this not as a castigation but a call to rise to your best selves.

It is now or never - defend the Constitution.

rodeorector, although I am not LDS, I live in an LDS community. From the discussion I've had with people so far, I haven't found anyone voting for Romney. I think a lot of LDS take the church dictate to 'vote their conscience' seriously, and do not necessarily vote to a party line -- or for a particular man solely based on the fact he's LDS.

Thanks Monty - you took the words right outta my mouth.

Sorry but if you support Obama then you probably DO hate America :lkick:

I'm actually falling more in line with Ron Paul but still probably undecided.

I just posted the below on another forum about Fred Thompson, don't think I will end up supporting him, trust is fading...

I thought Fred was the answer but I don't think he is going to end up who I want to throw in with.

Spencer Abraham, no way in Hell, Fred Thompson.

Fred Thompson has been my favorite for President in the 2008 election, until now. If what I'm hearing about Spencer Abraham, Thompson's new campaign manager, then Fred's campaign is dead in the water. Spencer Abraham, according to reports, is a supporter of open borders. That by itself is enough to turn most conservative voters off. On top of the border security question, I'm hearing that Spencer Abraham is an apologist for the Islamists. No way Fred can get elected if this is true. No way in hell.

Fred Thompson and Spencer Abraham: Bad combo
By Michelle Malkin • July 26, 2007 11:41 AM

In my 2002 book Invasion (p. 71, 76), I noted the open-borders obstructionism of former Sen. Spencer Abraham (R-Michigan), who fought to block the implementation of two different tracking databases–one for foreign student visa holders and the other for all temporary visitors (which was mandated by Section 110 of the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act). Abraham led efforts to starve the first database of funding and crusaded several times to kill Section 110 altogether. On September 11, 2001, neither of those databases was in place. To this day, they remain incomplete.

Now, Fred Thompson has gone and hired Open Border Spence as his acting campaign manager:

Republican presidential hopeful Fred Thompson, who hasn’t officially entered the presidential race, is shaking up his campaign staff, replacing his acting campaign manager with a former Michigan senator and a Florida Republican strategist.

Thompson spokeswoman Linda Rozett said acting campaign manager Tom Collamore, former vice president of food and tobacco giant Altria, still will advise the campaign. Collamore has helped organize the campaign for Thompson, who has not officially jumped into the race.

Thompson has established a “testing the waters” committee that allows him to raise money for a presidential bid. He is expected to formally kick off his candidacy in September, after the Labor Day holiday.

“The Friends of Fred Thompson have made a number of changes as they prepare to enter the next phase, adding new experience and political strength to the organization,” Rozett said.

Replacing Collamore will be Randy Enright, who has served as Florida regional political director for the Republican National Committee, and Spencer Abraham, the former senator who lost his bid for re-election in 2000 to Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.

Bad, bad move. If the Fred campaign is trying to win over grass-roots conservatives, this is a dumb way to do it.
He isn't making a lot of friends in the Christian Right either and if they don't get out to vote, he isn't electable.

My choices are in this order (so far):
Duncan Hunter
Ron Paul
Tancredo

then after that I've move on to:
Romney
Rudy
Thompson

IF we just HAVE to have a Democrat, I'd have to say Hillary because Obama or Edwards would be unbearable imo.

I don't see the point of voting for someone just cause they are female or black. If that's ok then it is also ok to decide to vote against them cause they are female or black, correct? I don't think it matters but that fact you do leads me to believe your judgement is suspect.

Come on Monty - I hope you are joking.

Yes, I am joking but I can't imagine why a right thinking person would vote for Obama or Hillary.

Easy for you to say, Monty, since you are neither female, nor black.

Right-thinking? What does that mean - that I don't think just like you?

Geez, pat someone on the back and it goes right to their head. sheesh

My color and gender has nothing to do with this conversation just like it should have nothing to do with where you cast your ballot on election day.

So what is it about being female or black that qualifies someone to be President? Would Whoppi make a good President? Of course not so obviously that isn't a good starting point.

What is it about Hillary or Obama that makes you think they would be a good President besides being female or black? What values, qualifications or positions do they bring to the table that makes you want to vote for them?

Right-thinking = being about to rationally and intelligently come to logical conclusions.
