Not solar, but not hard to do. The YouTube channel has many different configurations for free light.

This is all BS to the highest order (nothing against you, Helen). They make money on people who want it to be true by clicks, affiliate links selling the parts or just enjoy putting out entertainment. In any case it can't and won't work.

While I love the Touchlights I posted earlier, I also use a few others, including the Goal Zero "Crush Lanterns" and the Luci Lights. The GZ ones are great to give to people for inside use as long as they can remember to keep an eye on them during recharging as they are not waterproof. The Luci "marshmallow" lights are great for kids as they are waterproof and will take a lot of abuse, you just have to make sure that the kids don't forget and leave them outside charging in windy conditions as they will blow away. I have found that you can set 8 of them in one of the Pepsi 2 liter bottle holders and that keeps them both on the right angle to the sun better, but also keeps them from blowing away.

All of them on "low" will work for days and give usable light.

Awww. I hadn't had time to check ot out, but I thought the little ones would enjoy doing it this summer. The kid projects we did involved a battery. This guy only uses fluorescent bulbs. I thought there was some kind of residual storage in the ballast.

My bad.

Am a big fan of the rechargeable puck lights. I spent all of Black Friday 2022 on camping gear, solar lightbulbs, puck lights, jackery unit etc.

These are for indoor not waterproof but you can put one in a sealed jar for porch or garage.

Amazon has a myriad of options, these are USB rechargeable not the battery operated ones at Dollar Tree. Get a multipack for sticking in conventional lamps, around bathroom vanity mirror or under a kitchen cabinet over a sink. They reboot up lovely off a solar charger. Get about 6-8 hrs of very bright light depending on the brand.

Am also experimenting with rechargeable hanging light bulb to compare. I like both, but puck lights are very versatile and inexpensive for a set of 3, 6 or 12.
