What if?

What if McCain picked Colin Powell as a running mate? I have thinking about this for some time. It would be verrrry interesting if he did. I mean it would take some serious wind from Obama's sail. Actually ... I would not mind voting for him as president.

Would it change anyones mind from voting 3rd party or for Ron Paul?

I give up.
I asked something about Colin Powell here a couple of months ago, I think it was, and one of the members said he said he would never run for anything.

That was the gist of it anyway.

I would rather see Ron Paul pick Colin Powell for his running mate. Or even the other way around.

I thought his wife would not let him run as president ... but VP ... maybe.

I don't think most blacks will vote for Powell. They call him an Oreo - black on the outside, white inside. However, if he did run it would be harder to say it was racism if Obama didn't win. :shr:

Some black conservatives who feel they "have to" vote for Obama might vote for McCain if he had a black running mate. But black liberals would be accusing the VP candidate (whether Powell, Rice, whoever) of being an "Uncle Tom/Aunt Jemima" for playing second-fiddle to a white man.

Colin Powell's wife does not want to be in the public spotlight. I don't think it's likely.

I hope McCain picks Romney, myself. Somebody who could be strong on economics. The scuttlebutt around here is that he still likes Pawlenty.

Who knows.
