Thanks, that is just what I had in mind.in mine are . . . a few protein bars, few fig bars, small btl water, life straw, silcock wrench, spare pair sox, 55 gal drum liner, 50 rounds .357, bic lighter, folding knife w/ 3" blade, whistle, space blanket.
Good carry a scotch bonnet pizza.

believe sum a y'all are missing what Judy has asked for . . . a SHORT HOP bag not the entire gettin outta dodge rig - not a bug out bag
what I heard is this - he's headed sumplace he can walk back home from - that would be a 24-36 hr trip going into town but having to walk back . . .
so NOT a bug out bag - a grab it and run kit to WALK BACK HOME WITH . . . some thing small but ready right there to grab and leave with -not having to yank stuff out of a BOB and reassemble it elsewhere.
huge difference as I see it - but YMMV
Then, you can call what we both have as Get Home Bags. Just enough stuff to get us back home should we have to walk. That could be up to 3 days, but not likely. We only travel around 30 miles from home at any given time. Most of the time, it's much less than that.

And 100 pounds of dog foodMine is just a normal load-out in the truck. If I leave the house, it's a 30mi minimum to town. Most days, I'm 100-300mi from home.
If I had to bail out of my truck, there have to be a culling of gear, with some things getting stashed/buried nearby. I keep industrial trash bags for that.
That's what we do, although, we do have our BOBs in our vehicles at all times, and have the necessary accessories on us.
Thanks, its more like going 75 miles to the doctor. A small bag with food and drink to eat. DH has a tool box on the back of his truck so any needed tools are always there. I've still working on emergency bags to keep in the truck. Heck, I've got a folding chair in my van in case of a vehicle emergency and its hot, I can sit down outside and wait for DH or the tow truck.believe sum a y'all are missing what Judy has asked for . . . a SHORT HOP bag not the entire gettin outta dodge rig - not a bug out bag
