Hope you slip some rest in there somewhere, Moldy!!

Pulled 3 - 12's in a row; well, 1 - 12.5, 1 - 13.2, and a 14+ on Monday (why do restraints/attacks/seizures/you name it always happen right before shift change!) with an additional hour after I clocked out - one of our chronic patients was in trouble so we tag-teamed him: one coworker kept him on the phone while another coworker went to pick him up to bring him to the hospital; I waited at the ER door for her to hand him off to me; then stayed with him until he was headed to the unit. I do so love my co-workers; such a great team to work with!!

Was at daughter's house early Tuesday to hang out with the boys and wait for an appraiser as daughter was heading for the airport for the first leg of her trip to Australia. Home shortly before lunch, then fed the boys before hanging up a world map, US map, and dusting off the globe so that we could track her trip. Boys played outside for a bit while I got things set up for their extended stay - they will be with me until 8/8. Didn't seem like it had been more than a minute before we were headed back out the door to go to a family dinner with aunt/uncle/cousins from my Mama's side of the family - said gathering included pitching my hospital to one cousin's daughter who is headed to nursing school, discussing the methamphetamine crisis and recent Hep A outbreak in the local area with a cousin who works in Public Health and is a foster parent, commiserating with another over short staffing at work, and receiving an invitation to visit from a Montana cousin - with another cousin chiming in and saying "I'll drive; when are we going?" (September, I replied ) Got home and found 2 boxes of canning jars on my porch that had been left there by a neighbor who didn't want them 'cluttering up' her house but didn't want to throw them away either so dropped them off at 'Renee's home for orphaned canning jars' per the note  I just carried them right on in the house and loaded them in the dishwasher; now to find clean boxes for them - and a place to stack said boxes

Today, the boys and I need to run to the store for some bananas and a birthday card, swing back by the produce farm (my cukes bit the dust); then pick up the neighbor teen who will keep an eye on the boys while I mow the yard and then weed and till in the garden. Pool time after that; teen taken out for a DQ treat and given her birthday card with a silver Maple Leaf coin (co-worker found us another silver deal), home to toss meatloaf burgers on the grill for supper, cook up some box mac 'n cheese, slice some 'maters & cukes and then hopefully early to bed for all.

Thursday is shopping day - WM for the last of the school supplies (that I know of), grocery store, Amish store, picking up a birthday present for a party younger grandson is going to Friday evening, and getting the boys haircuts - gotta fit canning tomatoes in there somewhere...

Friday the teen will be coming over again so I can get some work done in the house or in the shed, then we will drop the teen at home, play in the pool for a bit, then head for the birthday party. Saturday will be dealing with the tomato deluge; plus there is another birthday party but Hubby may be attending that one on his own; not sure yet. I'm hoping to find time to take a hike either Friday or Saturday...

Dang; almost time to head to the store; reckon I'd better go wrangle the boys and get 'em headed in the right direction.... Take care all; wishing you all a peaceful and productive week!

Picked up the last of the boys' school supplies yesterday; granddaughter came along for the ride as for once she didn't have some sort of practice or workout, so she was able to get her school supplies as well. Hit Aldi for weekly type groceries, and stocked up on a few pantry items at both WM & Aldi since I was there. I was finally able to get in for a much needed haircut and the young lady hit the perfect length - not long enough to be annoying, not too short to pull back or put up; gotta remember to ask for her the next time I go in! I did managed to run one canner load of tomatoes in quart jars - dipped in boiling water, peeled, cut in quarters or halves depending on size of 'mater, dumped in jars and squished down until solidly packed to 1/2" from the top, added a little salt, then BWB for 30 minutes.

We have been inundated with fresh broccoli, so after I picked another canner's worth of tomatoes, I picked today's harvest of broccoli, blanched it, then chopped it before putting it in the dehydrator - which I plugged in to the side porch outlet  I prepped and put another 7 quarts of tomatoes in the canner, then brought in a couple of 2 gallon buckets/lids from the shed and cleaned them up; while they are air drying, I'm going to vac seal some of the beans, rice, and pasta I picked up yesterday in heavy gallon vac seal bags and put them in those buckets to use for short term storage or handouts in case of an emergency. Teaching the grandsons water conservation this morning - they shared bath water last night, then I let it cool in the tub until this morning before siphoning it out into buckets and letting them use it to water the non-edible plants in the flower beds. I explained why we weren't using it on the food plants in the garden - older grandson broke it down for younger one by telling him: "It has butt germs in it, Dude; you get sick if you eat butt germs." I love kids :)

My pole beans have finally started vining so I may end up with a crop this fall; pretty sure the heat was keeping them down. I halved some of our yellow cherry tomatoes, sliced one of the cukes I picked up yesterday, chunked up an onion and part of a green pepper, then sliced a string cheese stick in rounds and layered it all in a 24 oz freezer jar, dumped some Italian dressing on top, and put on a tight lid; I'll shake it up now and again; maybe turn it on it's top, and let it marinate, then serve it up for supper along with fried fish from a nearby town's festival that benefits their Volunteer Fire Department/Ambulance Service; thinking about getting an order of those cool 'tater chips too - where they spiral cut a large spud and deep fry it.... Of course, it's right before I'm supposed to get my annual labs done for the wellness program at work  May as well up the HgbA1c with some lemon shake-ups and ice cream that's been churned by an old hit 'n miss engine while I'm at it :)

Still need to get the boys haircuts as that went by the wayside yesterday, but may have to hold off on that until next week (unless I can con Hubby into using his clippers on them) as various activities keep popping up - like laundry  Not sure how two boys who seem to spend half their time running around in their underpants managed to generate so much laundry - other than the towels I keep mopping up various spills with!

Well, the neighbor girl just got dropped off by her grandmother so I reckon that's my cue to get some work done.

Take care all; have a blessed weekend!
