I think our time to prepare for this virus is about up.

I made my list for my usual Sam's club and Aldi trip this morning and set out for North Mississippi around 10:30. Wanted to arrive in time to have lunch with family members who live there, before shopping. This is a trip I make at least twice a month. This time it was a bit different. First thing I noticed was that the parking lot at Cracker Barrel was only about half full. I had zero problems finding a spot near the door and there was not wait to be seated. This place is usually packed. I have never been there and been seated immediately.

After lunch, I stopped at the Home Depot for a couple of things. I decided to check the supply of N-95 masks while I was there. I turned down the aisle where they are located and stopped short. There was a man and woman standing in front of the mask area. They were Asian and they had with them their luggage. Not a small bag, but the full size luggage with wheels and a backpack. Mind you , my Asian doctor had told me earlier in the week to avoid Asians wearing masks. This couple were not wearing masks, but seeing them standing there with their luggage, gave me pause. I went on to grab the items I needed and returned a few minutes later and they were gone. The only N-95 masks they had were in 2- packs. No boxes at all. Fortunately, we have a good supply.

There was nothing unusual at Aldi, but I went ahead and got extra, just in case. The next stop was Sam's. I pulled out my list and quickly got what I needed. I noticed that the rice, beans and flour sections were very low. There were other areas like that as well, but I don't remember what they were. I looked up and saw people wearing masks and decided that it was time to go. Standing in line to checkout, I noticed that just about every cart had a package of nitrile gloves. I've never seen that before.

This is just my experience today, I have no idea if other areas are stocking up. For me this was a big dot.
I have to go back next week for a doctor visit. I plan to check my storage and fill in any holes then, if I can.

Catskinner, I've not noticed anything like that around here, but I live in a rural area and the town where I do most of my shopping is a college town, I was just at walmart, it was crowded but it was off from work time. I was picking up an order and I wanted to get dog food, but didn't want to stand in line. We stopped in a really small town on the way home at the dollar general so I could get dog food, smaller bag (35#) and more expensive, but I got it. DH said why are are you buying dog food, we have more than half a bag (50#) and I told him I didn't want to run out. He's kind of a "don't get it" but he's a good sport. Tells people that I keep stocked up because of Katrina, of course that's not why, but what the hay.

I hit Rural King on my way home from work Friday morning to pick up bird feed; did take advantage of their buy one/get one free seed deal - they had most of their seeds included in the sale. I picked up yellow and red beet, and spinach to plant early; green and yellow zucchini, and red and yellow watermelon seed, plus some birdhouse gourd seeds to make into birdhouses and birdfeeders next year. The rest of my seeds are on order from Shumway, except I'm still looking for the yellow wax pole beans.

I'm going to wait one more to week to see if Rural King's wool socks get marked down any lower; if not, I'll bite the bullet and pay the current mark down price.

Made a quick trip to Dollar General this evening; picked up several items, some with store coupons, some with paper coupons; and used my $5/$25 store coupon as well. Several 32 oz bottles of peroxide, children's pain relief/fever reducers and allergy meds, and adult pain meds/fever reducers were among the items; those went into a specific medical tote that is currently stored on the main floor and will be pulled out as needed - which might be soon....

Daughter informed me yesterday when I went to pick up the boys that over 100 kids were out of school at just the grade school (500 kids) with flu like symptoms (fever, malaise, pain, etc..) while they were gone on their trip; she was hopeful that the boys missed it but I think the little one is coming down with something - he's got a fever and is tired and needy; older one is just showing allergy type symptoms.

Is anyone besides me annoyed with all the various toilet paper roll sizes? Regular, Big, Double, Mega.... I haven't gotten up the gumption to do the math to figure out how they measure up cost wise, but I'm gonna venture to Wal Mart and take some photos of packages to see what I can come up with - of course, then I'll have to check other stores since I think some stuff at Wal Mart is packaged specifically for them.... So far, I'm buying the Mega roll packs when the price ends up at $1 or less a roll (coupons/sales included in price.)

Well, the littlest germ factory is asking to use my computer to watch a video so I'm going to wipe it down, and then set the peroxide and wipes next to it to remind me to do it again when he's done...

Take care all; have a great week!

Prep School article specifically on urinary infections and antibiotics >>>>>
amoxicillin is a standard treatment and readily available in the fish department.
For most women who get a UTI, it is not a one-time thing but recurring. Once you go to the doctor and get a successful treatment then you will know what to buy to have on-hand for future use.

I had a UTI last year for the first time in at least 40 years, just came out of no where and I did have to get an antibiotic and darn if I can remember what it was.

30 years ago my wife got a UTI and the doctor said we both had to take the amoxicillin because we would transfer the infection back and forth (like she felt like having sex with a UTI). Turns out I was allergic to amoxicillin and I went into the hospital for 4 days.

LOL we don't have to worry about transfering it like that. I'll look for some fish amoxicillin. I tried several things and nothing worked until I had the antibiotic, I think I may have let it go too long, kinda like denial.
