It seems I can only move in slow motion today. I wish I had half the energy that my granddaughter has, she‘s a hoot. DH has told her that “A farmers work is never done” and I just overheard her telling him that “A little girls work is always done”!

Chicken and Gnocchi soup is what‘s for supper tonight. I have both milk and chicken broth that needs to be used so this will take care of both. I don’t have any fresh spinach but I’m thawing out some frozen that’s been in the freezer awhile so I’ll add that if it still looks good or skip it if it isn’t! Either way, it should still be good.

We enjoy breakfast for dinner/supper too, especially our 2 grandsons where bacon, sausage and pancakes are involved. DH and I had omelets Sat. night for supper and fresh eggs make the best.

Judy~ Prayers for a speedy recovery for your DH and make sure you get rested up, stress is hard on a person.

Sherree~ Prayers for your Dr. to help with the problems you’re having.

Tympanoplasty, with mastoidectomy - right ear. What ever that is, I don't think either one of have a clear understanding of it. The issue started with bleeding from his ear, they said it was an infection, but only gave him drops, two times. And after several months "they" said he needed surgery to fix the problem, although it will not help his hearing.

The definition is The primary goal of surgery for chronic otitis media and cholesteatoma is to remove all infection and cholesteatoma. The definition says a repeat surgery may be necessary, but the doctor did not tell him that, he is 79.

Thanks, Judy. I'm praying that his healing goes well.

3 egg cheese omelets stuffed with chopped ham, green onions, and bell peppers with homemade hash browns with chopped onions, and hot biscuits are on our supper menu quite often. Love those eggs!

So I made a pledge to myself to not order anything in December. I've decided that books don't count. One of my favorite authors has a new book coming out in January. A sort of precusor to the new book is one that I already have, then there are three with the main character in the one I have. I also have the first one of that series, but not 2 and 3. I wanted them on kindle, but they are much much cheaper in used hardback. So I ordered these 2.

I've been scratching around trying to find something that I already have to peak my interest, voila, its peaked.

Television is so boring with reruns of reruns, so I really needed something to read. I really like to read on kindle, but a real book will do nicely. The two that I have to read on kindle I do have in real book form too. Yay me.

Another day done. The new boss is happy. She thought it was going to take weeks to get this done. Plus I'm finding things that are a lot less headache to fix now than in 4 months. Hearing bits about how long it took other people to do these tasks that I'm just ripping through. But I'm not going fast by my standards. The hardest part is actually taking the lunch break without popping back to continue working.

Having double monitors is proving to be tremendously useful. Although I hit eye strain limit today. Going to have to double check and make sure I have the blue light filter working.

Dinner was baked chicken breasts and veggies. Yum.

I didn't get much sleep last might because Mr. FedEx did not show. I have proof he didn't come when he reported he did. But package was there this morning, and the items inside were in good condition.

I'm a hair tired today. So I stopped with doing more laundry and getting all the trash out. And reviewing figuring out ease for homemade patterns.

Tomorrow I get to run to Sam's Club and Joann's. I can work in the afternoon if I want. Or take the whole day off. After I finish this task, I get to go in and clean up vendor lists.

Spent yesterday cleaning out 2 cabinets. Rode with DH into town and picked up some containers at $ tree. One of the cabinets had become a catchall. It looked like a bomb went off in the kitchen and I stirred it with a stick. Got it all put up. Recognized a couple holes in the preps when I could see what was what.

Filled a bag with stuff for grands and a bag for thrift shop. Delivered both while in town so that's more stuff out of my way.

Have a mayo crisis, lol. Gotta get more mayo and miracle whip in the backups. Cleaned out fridge today since we are taking a couple days away for anniversary. Tried a manwich copy cat recipe for lunch today. So good we had the leftover for supper.

Elderly relatives out of hospital and happy in the nursing home. Ready to rest and de-stress.

Okay. Prep check.
Hubby got me a Yule/bday gift of an electric canner that came in on Friday. How fitting as the day is named after Frigga, my matron. I've canned up 10 pints of smoked turkey, 4 pints broth, 8 halfs of pumpkin butter, 8 halfs of cheddar.

As for new canned goods, 8 cans of chicken, 8 cans tuna, 12 cans vienna sausages, 2 cans Spurkey, 2 cans generic Spicken. Stocked back 3 more bottles sf bbq, 2 bottles sf ketchup. 2 jars good mayo.

I found cream for the first time since b4 Thxgvg. Got 2 gallons. Gonna sacrifice a qt to an experiment in canning. Instructions say bring it up to pressure, then turn it off. Supposed to work for everything from milk to cream. I'll give it a shot.

Will be butchering extra male quails this coming weekend. That'll be some good meat going into my freezer. They are fighting and stressing the females to the point of not laying. Can't have that. It's messing with my income.

Harvested more carrots. The full sized ones are about 3 inches. The smallies are about the size of a cherry tomato. Anything smaller and all the greens went to the cavies. I left a few in 1 bed to mature for seed. Danvers half longs.

No excuse not to process tge rest of those pumpkins now, eh?

It's still pouring rain this morning with a bit of thunder mixed in. We're not supposed to have any severe weather, though. I just hate having to get out in it, today. Doctor appointment at 3pm, then on to Sam's. I have other places I'd like to go in big town, but it'll be late when I get out of the doctor's office and Sam's. I think we're going to wait to go another day, even though, I wanted this to be our last trip to big town until after Christmas.

Cary got his last pair of shoes in last night and one of the books he ordered. Gosh, it was almost 7 pm when FedEx ran. His book came by regular mail. We are both now really stocked up for a few years on shoes and boots. All of mine fit perfectly. His, too. I found a pair of Skechers online that were in my size, yesterday, and I had to hold myself back from ordering them. They were soooo cute, too. I need to stop window shopping online, LOL! Cary told me to go ahead and order them, but it didn't feel right, since I had just received my past orders a few days ago.

Supper tonight will be Chick fil A deluxe chicken sandwich meals with chocolate shakes while in big town.

Speaking of quails, there is a young family around here that have 7 children 10 and under, one is special needs. 5 girls and two boys, oldest is a boy and the youngest is a boy.

The munchins are learning to process quails. I find that amazing. The children are all precious and loving and are true country children. They are also home schooled, so not learning crap at school. In addition to processing quails I'm sure they are also learning all kinds of things self sufficient.

The dad works at a paper mill and the mom is a stay at home mother. Wonderful family. The dad is hands on when is is home.

I ordered three more pair of pants at half price; they arrived this morning. I will clear out some old pants and am really set on clothes (pants, shirts, underwear, socks, shoes) for the next few years. Better half also ordered some new clothes and will get some at Christmas, so we are all looking good in that department.

We did a huge order with Chewy and got about 3 months worth of food, some litter and some treats. Was almost $300, but puts us up to about 8 months of food for the cats and that is about all we can store for them right now.

Stopped by Trader Joe's yesterday. Their pasta is still 99 cents a lb. I added 8 more pounds, including 2 pounds of orzo to use in making soup. I haven't added much to the stockpile as there is no place for much of anything new, but I have replaced the canned beans and diced tomatoes I have used in the last month making chili, goulash and some other dishes.

Ordered some candles off Ebay at a decent price. Have a lot of candles, but doesn't hurt to have more. Got another 4 pack of butane and another 2 pack of propane since the last time I updated as well.

I told Cary just this morning that we need to start back buying all of our doggie treats from Chewy. That way, we wouldn't be pressed to go into town twice a month just for his treats when we can get by without having to go at all. I'm trying to cut down on making trips to Walmart if we can do without. It would be nice to only go once a month shopping, instead of twice. I'm going to have to make a run into small town tomorrow just to get his treats. I'm going to use my discount card to get them at Walgreen's, since Cary needs to pick up his scripts there anyway.

DH drinks coffee in the morning only...several years ago I had a bout with food poisoning... and haven't had a taste for coffee since...so I now drink tea..DH drinks tea after work and no longer coffee.. did some counting we use a little over a thousand tea bags a year..

Well that got me thinking about the problems with the supply lines..we like a lot of English teas... which are grown mostly in India and Africa...then moved to England then shipped here ...so needless to say been busy..going through the teas..we like the best and ordering them ...even American teas ..are grown overseas.......and blended and processed here..again a bunch of shipping involved.. just saying

We are well stocked on coffee for dh..but soon will have tea well covered ... I am vacuum sealing into smaller packages... that fit my tins...plus less space needed to store it..again variety is great...as things get ugly...

Tea bags can be used more than once...plus back when we were young and poor dealing with the mess of inflation that old jimmy Carter caused we found that in an electric drip coffee pot (anything like a Mr Coffee) you could add more water to pot and squeeze out a few more cups from the used grounds...was it as good as fresh no...but was it drinkable yes.... saved us money at the grocery store..things were really rotten back then.... for those of you too young to remember..we watched many of our friends lose there houses...today reminds me of those days....but today is on steroids...

I have two tea trees (camellias) growing. And yaupon hollies. And a whole bunch of herbs/flowers that make nice teas. It really isn't hard to grow them. Now fermenting them for the version of black tea that we are used to ... that's an experiment to come.
But I do have a really good stock of all my favorite teas. And my eye on some more plants that help make some of those teas.

I got a call from an actual human being from FedEx. Turns out there have been enough local complaints, so there's a human being digging into it. The GPS spot for where my packages were dropped is an insurance company office that is a few miles away. And I told him about that package that was marked delivered at a time when it was not, but that I was just happy that the package showed up. And that packages from them, no one else, end up in weird places. Also that I really don't like my packages ending up outside overnight, which he completely understood. I forgot to tell him to take a look at the completely black pictures. But I'm guessing that he'll get to it.

Today just went sideways in spades. We were out the door when the deadbolt decided that I couldn't have my key back. So took son to Sonic, called friend and canceled. Came home quickly to try to figure out wtf. This is a problem I've had on the inside before, when a lock was about to die. But not on the outside. A can of air jarred something enough to get my key out. And then tri-flow oil on the key, and then inserted in the lock, got the lock releasing the key again. Note: the cylinder and everything was moving fine, it just wouldn't let go of the key. Now it will. Going to add grabbing a deadbolt to the shopping list. Just in case it dies.

Otherwise, digging through the to do list so that today isn't completely blown. Getting things done that I was planning to do this weekend. So that I'll be able to shift today's errands to the weekend without completely frying those days.

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
I have been feeling really bad lately. Started with big, bad headaches, it seems like everyday for about 10 days, with just a bit of increased mucus, but not much really. Also, total lack of energy and wanting to sleep all the time. Yesterday and last night were pretty bad......felt like I had been run over by a truck and throat was really sore. This morning is better.

I had gone on full keto for about the last three weeks and I think it was just bottoming out my blood sugar. I am hypo glycemic, but have always been able to do keto before.....
Last night feeling so bad I broke down and had a few biscuits that I whipped up. I feel MUCH better today.

WEIRD huh??

As far as prepping, I have not gone to town in over a month, except for getting 2 bags of dog food at the little Dollar General here.... I'm sure I was be shocked by prices when I go for my regular Doctors visit tomorrow!!!

You will always feel better when you feed the addiction. You can have carbs on keto, just not a lot. Maybe up your daily carbs just a hair.

I wish I wasn't going to town. I normally don't for the entire month of December. This year is not working out that way.

Well, I woke up at 4:35 am this morning, couldn't go back to sleep, got frustrated, and just got up. So, here I am sitting here drinking my first cup of coffee.

My doctor visit went well, yesterday, but I left his office feeling very overwhelmed and a bit unsettled. I guess, since I was a new patient, he felt the need to go over my life story, along with those of my close relatives, medically speaking. Yes, he diagnosed me with high BP, and wrote a script for a very low dose of some BP drug. It's the same that Cary takes. Then, because of family history of cancer, and me being a heavy smoker for 30 yrs. (I haven't smoked in 13 yrs.), he practically told me that I was going to get lung cancer, a 1 in 3 chance. Then he also told me that there was that same chance of me developing all kinds of cancer, since it was in my genes from my mom. So, he recommended me having a CT scan on my lungs every year, plus a colonoscopy next year as early detection protocols. I already have a mammogram every year. Next, He wanted to start me on a low dose anti-depressant, like Paxil, to help bring my stress and anxiety levels down, contributing to the high BP. I got a blood draw and an EKG while there. I won't know the results of the blood draw for a few days, the EKG was normal, but my BP was 157/108. I've got to go back Dec. 28 for a follow up visit.

After it was all said and done, I ask him why he was trying to hang such a dark cloud over my head. His reply, "Not a dark cloud, just reality". I told him I would have to think about all these cancer screening tests, and let him know, later on. I told him, no to taking the anti-depressant. I'll get the script for BP filled, today, but just to have it, not to start it right away. I'm going to be making an even greater effort to bring it down on my own. If I can't, I'll then take it. I'm also going to start looking for ways to prevent cancer. Steps I can take to try to prevent it. At 63 yrs. old, it seems a bit late to start.

I've decided to go ahead with grocery shopping, today, since I have to go to Walmart, anyway, to fill my script. Cary needs to pick his up at Walgreen's, and I have clothes in the dry cleaners that need to be picked up. It was pouring rain when we left the doctor's office, and I couldn't bring myself to go to Sam's or anywhere else shopping, so we just came home. I'll just order what I need from Sam's.

He's been Cary's PCP for years and has always been very blunt. I guess I just wasn't expecting him to be so blunt with me. He wasn't pushy about me having all of these cancer screening tests done, just advised it. I already knew that cancer runs in my mom's side of the family, but I was shocked to find out my chances of also getting some type of it. Mom had breast cancer (cured), and my sister died of melanoma that metastasized to her lungs and brain. My maternal grandparents both died of cancer (lung and kidney), and Mom has two other sisters who had breast cancer (all cured). It's heart failure that runs in my dad's side of the family, but Doc didn't seem too concerned about that.

All in all, he's still a darn good doctor and a great guy. I'd rather have him treating me for anything, instead of a NP. I don't have anything against NP's, but when it comes to treating certain things, I want a specialist.

Sherree I would be bummed too after an appointment like that. My opinion on ways to prevent cancer are mostly diet related, so I'll spare you that. A supplement that you might consider is Curcumin.

Praying for you.

DH is still in pain, but at least he is outside, gathering the eggs, feeding the chickens, watering the goats and it looks like he is picking persimmons off his tree. And he is in trouble because he climbed the ladder he had put out there. He didn't stay on the ladder but a minute or two.

May be repeating myself, but my new knee braces came from the VA, really nice, gives my knee a lot of support. The physical therapast told me not to wear it all the time, like all night.

The series "Dr. Quinn Medicine woman is just about over, although the will start it over next week. I use to watch it in reruns all the time but got tired of it. It only lasted 6 seasons. Not to say I won't watch it anymore but I won't be anxiously waiting for the next episode. There just isn't that much to watch on tv. Although there are some British sitcoms that we watch, but they are all old reruns, but still funny. For some reason I just can't get into American sitcoms.

I'm feeling withdrawal from church, we missed Sunday morning and now Wednesday night. But they are having their annual Christmas party for a "boys" group home on Saturday night. They've been having this party for over 30 years and all the "boys" are up in age. The church goes all out for them. A long time church member that has a son in his 50's that lives there and I'm sure that's how it got started. Its a nice thing to do. They haven't been able to have it the last two years because of covid.

We just got home from doing my grocery shopping and picking up meds. I've got it all dated, rotated, and put away. It's not raining, today, so it was a good day to go.

Large eggs had gone up from $3.32/doz to $3.68/doz since the last time I was there 3 weeks ago. I bought 2 dozen. I bought another large jug of Folger's coffee and only a few cans of different veggies to replace out of storage. A 3lb bag of frozen chicken breasts, 2 Polish Kielbasas, 1.5 lbs of Wright's bacon, and a medium sized beef roast. That was it for meat. I needed all the fixings to make another pecan and pumpkin pie for Christmas dinner, plus a large tub of Cool Whip. Several bags of doggie treats, plus something special for him for Christmas. 2 loaves of Jewish rye bread. 2 packages of cheddar and 2 packages of Swiss cheeses. Aluminum foil pans to use for Christmas cooking. A bag of yellow onions and a 10lb bag of jumbo russet potatoes. 2-1lb packs of Land O Lakes butter. 2 large bags of Christmas mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for Cary. 1 box of the special eye drops I have to have, plus a bottle of clove essential oil. 2 large bottles of veggie oil I use for deep frying French fries to replace the large jug from Sam's I just used up. 3 pairs of women's cabin socks to keep my feet warm. 2-6 packs of Cary's favorite beer. A few other things that I can't think of right now. $432.56.

We stopped in at the new wine shop to restock. This one's prices are a bit cheaper than the one in big town, and they do carry our favorite wine. After comparing prices, today, we'll just shop at this new one from now on. They also had Cary's favorite egg nogg, too, Pennsylvania Dutch.

I'm tired, so I ask Cary if Campbell's Chunky Soup (baked potato with steak and cheese) with crackers would be ok for our supper, tonight. Of course, he said, yes.

That's a lot of money, no way I could ever do that. LOL you are blessed to afford yourselves. But we do fine, we don't drink wine, so that saves, and no egg nog either, I used to drink it from time to time with Johnny Red in it. I've added up what I need to restock and its only a few dollars, although it was cheaper in the first place.

We got a gift card a few months back and we spent it all on bacon. But I think we've only used one package, maybe two. We don't eat it regularly. Mostly we have ham ends and pieces with our 3 eggs each for out first meal of the day. Today we had it at 2:30.

Yes, we feel that we are very blessed. I bought more than usual this time, because of extras for our Christmas meal (I just remembered that I bought a tray of frozen yeast rolls for that, too, instead of making them myself, again). If I had only bought what I needed to replace in the pantry, I wouldn't have spent so much. Plus, this is for 2 weeks. We will not buy anything as far as groceries/food items again for another 2 weeks. I don't run to the grocery store or any other place every other day to pick up stuff, either. What we buy for 2 weeks is it. We do without, until time to go again.

I didn't mean to imply that we don't have what we need and a lot of what we want. In the past I spent a lot of money stocking my pantry. But now I only spend around $100 a month and some of that is to replace what we've used. I'm good to go on most things, but I do find a hole from time to time.

One thing I had not stocked up on has been Chicken Noodle Soup because we were getting a couple or so of cans a month in commodities. I didn't keep track and I needed a can yesterday for DH and only found one. So I have 12 of the walmart brand on my list. They are 68 cents a can and campbells is 1.26. I remember getting 3 or 4 cans for a dollar, but then I'm older. I consider it nasty stuff but DH likes it when he's under the weather. Neither of us particularly like canned soups. Although I do have some. I did stock up on cream of whatever soups a couple of years ago for flavor in things, although I don't consider these soups healthy. I used to make things like this out of ingredents and not out of a can, but not so much any more.

I didn't mean to imply that we don't have what we need and a lot of what we want. In the past I spent a lot of money stocking my pantry. But now I only spend around $100 a month and some of that is to replace what we've used. I'm good to go on most things, but I do find a hole from time to time.

Oh no, Judy, I didn't think you were implying anything. I just wanted you to know that I had a lot of extra stuff to buy, otherwise, I wouldn't have spent so much. But it's for our Christmas dinner, so it was worth it to me. The only things for storage this time, were the cooking oil, coffee, and a few cans of veggies. I wish I could have gotten out that light.

Cary hates canned soup of any kind, except plain Campbell's chicken noodle soup. He will eat others, like tonight, but he'll only eat it on occasion. I was too tired to cook, after shopping, and I've got a few cans of assorted flavors in the pantry, so that's what we had, but I don't stock a lot of canned soup.

I consider you very blessed, too, Judy. I wish we had our own chickens for meat and eggs. Cary won't eat any venison or wild pork, which ya'll get free. You more than likely have a pantry twice the size of mine, too. Very blessed, indeed.

Sherree,
Your post about your new doctor and his recommendations spoke to me, and I thought I’d chime in with my recent experiences.
Last week (Tuesday) I had my first colonoscopy (I’m almost 52). The process was NOT a big deal at all despite all the stories I had heard about it. The doctor removed several polyps, but I have one that needs to be surgically removed. They said I needed a cat scan before surgery. The imaging place called and asked if I could come back that afternoon for the cat scan. While there, the surgeon’s office called and scheduled a consult appointment for two days later (this past Thursday). My head knew that all of this happening “so fast” could mean things were pretty serious, but I tried to keep a positive mindset. I met with the surgeon, and he said my cat scan results were “clear” (ignorance was bliss on my part - I didn’t realize at the time they were checking me for cancer). My surgery is now scheduled for December 20. They need to cut out a part of my colon and reattach the two parts back together. Two-three hour surgery with a three night stay in the hospital. I pray all goes well.

I say all that to say …… I am SO thankful I went. I caught it in time I think. (they think anyways with the clear cat scan- it will still be sent away to pathology but they think I caught it before cancer. (I lost a dear friend five years ago to colon cancer as by the time it was detected, she was at stage four and it was everywhere. That could have been me.) Both the colonoscopy doctor and the surgeon mentioned that if I had done nothing, it WOULD turn to cancer. I feel so much gratitude that I went.

Anyway, I felt led to share my recent experiences. I know I made the right decision for me (Which might not be the same for someone else). I wish you the best as you decide the right path for you.
I am encouraging others I know to get their “routine exams” scheduled. It is important.

And, I imagine I will post a prayer request in the Corkboard a bit closer to the day, but I would appreciate prayers. ❤️

It has been a whirlwind this past week (quite the understatemen).

It's been a busy week - PT twice and an oncology visit. Everything is going on track; I think the Botox is working to help me open my mouth more. I have been cooking a lot - extras go in the freezer for times that I may not feel like cooking. I'm a little irritated with myself - I forgot to pick up my prescriptions today while I was in town. Oh well, I'll pick them up Monday.

Prices are high for sure, so I only picked up things on sale. I have a feeling that I may need to start baking bread. We'll see. I'd love to get a zorioshi (sp?) breadmaker, but only if I can find it at a thrift store! I had to throw out a bunch of turnips and beets - I just couldn't get them processed fast enough. I think the same may happen with the carrots. I'll slice up a lot of onions this weekend and get them in the dehydrator. The squash is getting slowly used up, or cooked and freeze dried.

So much to finish up this weekend before the great chemo and radiation adventure begins. I really don't like asking for help, so I'll do as much as I can ahead of time.

Life's insanity. Turns out I'm getting paid more than I realized. I'm good with that.

But I finished the current project by noon, and weeks ahead of expectations. So I got an unplanned afternoon off. Since the deadbolt is now functional, I grabbed a friend and we ran yesterday's errands. And it turns out our local Sam's Club no longer had any push wheelchairs, just electric. And only one functional electric one. We got lucky and made it work. (She's not super mobile atm because of knee surgery.)

We got to go into Joann's. Found everything that was needed. But son was a little disappointed. The Sew Lush fleece was almost gone with none of his favorite colors. And the licensed prints were... odd. Very few of any movies that we recognized. We finally tripped across a purple Aristocats print that he like, and an odd Nightmare Before Christmas one. In the end he decided on the Aristocats.

Friend found the knitting needles she needed. We escaped with very little budget damage.

FedEx delivered the replacement packages while I was out. Unprotected in pouring rain, but, hey, they got here and it wasn't almost midnight. And they were actually at the front door.

Rotisserie chicken was dinner. And now I'm just chilling. New task to start tomorrow.

Sending hugs to you all. Wishing you all a warm drink and a night of relaxation and good health.

DH and I went shopping in Franklin TN yesterday, it’s a two hour trip there and another two hour trip back plus a little longer since it rained all the way there! We didn’t get home until after dark and it was so foggy, we were both worn out but still had to get things in the house and put away. Car trips alone are hard for me. The walking and pushing shopping carts takes every ounce of energy I can muster and takes me days to recover from.

First stop was Aldi, they have one of the larger, nicer ones and I enjoyed checking it out since it’s been a few years since I’ve been there. Stocked up on some canned fire roasted tomatoes, French style green beans, creamed corn, evaporated milk, boxed cheesy potatoes, heavy cream, a couple of tubs of their pimento cheese that I really like, a few different kinds of their version of stovetop stuffing that I wanted to use in a few casserole recipes I saw online (now to remember where those recipes are) chocolate bars for stocking stuffers and other treats for the grandkids.

Next stop was Costco which was the main reason we went. We aren’t planning on renewing our membership and ours goes out next month. DH likes their socks and wanted to get a pack and a few of their big jugs of dish liquid since the Kirkland brand is one I’m not allergic to and it doesn’t dry out our hands as bad as some do. Wouldn’t you know they only had Palmolive and Dawn, none of the Kirkland brand. And for some reason by the time we met back up at the check out he had only gotten one pack each of socks and underwear, I told him he should have gotten at least two.

Anyway at Costco we got two of the 6 packs of Dole Gold Pineapple, we haven’t seen it in Sam’s or Costco in the past year or so. A few bottles of jet dry for the dishwasher as it was on special, dried parsley, a tin of Christmas cookies, a couple blocks of sharp cheddar cheese, Hebrew Nationals franks, bacon, and generic aleve.

I was getting really tired so I didn’t make it to many parts of the store. We left and since I knew DH was hungry, I suggested he go get us something to eat and we could just eat in the parking lot at Sam’s. At this point I took both an aleve and Tylenol. It took awhile to get through the chick fil a line but we got our lunch and headed off to Sam’s. By the time we had ate the meds had kicked in some and I was able to go in at Sam’s, I thought I was going to just have to stay in the car and let hubby finish up.

We got 10 lbs of carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, mini sweet bell peppers, mini cucumbers (youngest two grands love the peppers and cukes) 4 bags of shredded mozzarella, cheese sticks and some other cheese snacks, almonds, mixed nuts, cashews, a big tin of butter cookies, sparking cider for the grands for Christmas, coffee, socks for DSonIL, and all 3 grands for Christmas, a tub of cookie dough (granddaughter has been wanting us to make cookies and this may have to be my easy out for awhile LOL) 2 packs of little smokies that were marked down from $11.98 to $8.98, they have a good date so we’ll split them up and vac pac for the freezer. By this time the fatigue and brain fog had set in with a vengeance and I somehow forgot to get the sour cream, cream cheese and something else I can’t remember now. And we probably got a few other things that I also forgot about. Oh, we did get Princess AG a cute pair of pink rubber boots with a unicorn design so she can slosh around the farm without messing up her nice shoes. They were also marked down and she absolutely loved them and wore them on and off most of the day. My eyes are crossing so I’ll say good night, prayers for you all.

Thank you, briches. Yes, I had a colonoscopy 9 years ago. Everything was fine. No, it's not that big of a deal, except for the cleansing stuff.....GAG. Mom and Dad both had to have polyps removed, and Mom had to have a section of her colon removed as well, because of a polyp they couldn't reach. All were noncancerous. I'm considering it, and new doctor told me I could let him know if I changed my mind, and he would set me up with an appointment. Same with the CT on my lungs. I've still got 3 molars to have cut out, and a cataract surgery to go through sometime early next year, plus all of mine and Cary's routine doctor's appointments. I really don't want anything else on mine or his schedule right now. It almost feels like we're living at doctor's offices and the hospital even now.

Sherree, 2 of my old neighbors, who were more family than any of my real family, both chain smoked for over 50 years, and neither one of them got cancer. He died in his 90's of complications from dementia and she had a heart attack when she was in her mid 80's --- and she was still running her small farm and doing almost everything herself. I hope to go out the same way.

Cary's dad was the same. He chain smoked all his life, almost, and died at 93 from a stoke caused from having an abdominal aneurysm surgery. His BP bottomed out just as they were finishing the surgery. He lived on a few months afterwards in a nursing facility. His surgeon warned him that that was possible going in. His heart was in great shape as they found out from all the pre-op testing.

I'm still considering all these tests, but I'm not in any hurry. Sometimes, it's just best to leave things in God's hands and His timing. I'm open to His leading.

Until the last couple of months we always got raisins in the little boxes. Nothing in the last couple of months. I've looked at walmart several times for raisins in the little single serve boxes and all they have are coated with yogurt. So I've been buying them in larger packages. Several months back DH was slightly deficient in a couple of things and the doctor recommended that eat walnuts. We also added raisins to that daily. This time his numbers were all normal. We've come to enjoy the raisins and walnuts. It doesn't take a lot every day to do what is needed nutrient wise. DH has been good about eating both of those every day.

I also like cranberries, but DH can't eat them because of his afib and blood thinner. In addition to a few walnuts I'm also eating a few almonds. So much nutrition in a small daily amount.

The extra chargers for my watch came, so as long as I have a charger I can keep my watch going.

DH is feeling somewhat better from his ear surgery, but still in pain and not sleeping well. The surgery will not help his hearing.

Covid, flu, RSV and other crap going around. No vaccines for us, and thus far we only have allergy and sinus issues, which is normal for us.

Judy, I've been sitting at my computer all morning looking at foods that can help prevent cancers of all types. Foods high in antioxidants, lots of fruit and veggies, more fish and poultry, limited amount of red meats, no processed foods, etc. I love raisins, but I thought they worked best for iron deficiencies. Do they work as a fruit as a cancer preventative, too? I don't eat much fruit. I'm going to start. Cary eats lots of mixed nuts, but I can't chew them.
