Trump aide Conway draws ire for kneeling on White House sofa

Really? This is a nothingburger. I'm amazed that the MSM is running out of things to bitch about after only five weeks. The networks and newspapers are just one big barrel o'failure lately.

I don't believe this is any where near as serious as other things that have happened in that room, but it is still not proper behavior.

Why give people the rope to hang you, or bullets for their guns to shoot you?
If she came into your house and sat on your couch like that during some kind of official formal ceremony, I think most of you would not think it proper.

As far as proper behavior, demand as much from the administration you like and voted for, as the ones you had contempt for.
Saying "but Obama did it, or Clinton did worse" doesn't change proper behavior or good manners. It just shows that we're willing to overlook bad things as long as it's our people who did them.

This!

I've seen several pics of Presidents in the past put their feet up on their desk. Ass wipes will find fault with everything. I do like it though when they get pics of a fly on Obama or the Mooch's face. Did you know that when a fly lands on something it poops? :D

Dear God, who in their right mind would want to deal with the pressures and public scrutiny of the President's Office? In my nearly sixty years on this Earth I have been involved in social settings and professional environments ranging from outlaw motorcycle club houses to diplomatic, business and military offices. In any setting, were one to be extremely picky and only moderately observant, examples can be seen of people violating the social mores of the environment. I do understand - and appreciate - the necessity for certain behavioral norms in different settings, but everyone knows that it's all a bit of an unnatural 'show' dictated by circumstances. A junior officer addressing a flag officer is certainly going to use different language and adopt a different demeanor than he or she would amongst their peers in a locker room. Fortunately, for nearly all of us, being in the spotlight and having ourselves scrutinized only occurs for a matter of hours during the work week and at social functions.

Working for the President - or being the President - throws all of that out the window. There are no "off" hours and everything, no mater how ridiculously minute, is seen through a microscope. Mrs. Conway's knee incident has resulted in a minor scandal, countless wasted pages of news coverage and this absurd thread (which I am regrettably participating in). Despite the supposed power of the office, being in the Presidential retinue represents the ultimate prison. If I was Conway (or Trump), I'd be strongly inclined to don an old work shirt, grab tackle box, a six-pack and a couple of poles and go fishing. I'd kneel where I wanted, scratch my butt if I felt so inclined and pop a few cold ones.

Best regards

I've got to agree (yet again - gag) with Terry. This was a formal meeting. Proper etiquette for the job and the venue would be to sit normally and conservatively. But I grant her dispensation because 1) She's very new at all this, and there's a learning curve, and 2) she probably did it unconsciously.

How dare she do a - bad thing as you call it.

Why don't call the White House and demand that she resign?

That will teach her.

Maybe then Michele Obama could take her job - if she promises to never set that way.

This thread convinces me the conservative side is doomed.

I'm sure there is a legitimate reason for doing that and we don't know what it is
She certainly has enough class to know what to do at the right time
Trump would not put up with embarrassment to the establishment

It looks as though she was trying to stay out of the angle of the camera facing the president's desk and off to the side as much as she could while still snapping some photos. Whose phone/camera did she have? Was she asked to snap a picture?

We just had an illegal alien false president destroying every aspect of America in that room for 8 years and what we worry about is a woman in an unusual position on the couch taking pictures? Context would sure help.

I think Conway is great but a lady should not sit like that at all in that setting with that company and in that house. Some of you really need to take a relook at all the pictures on this thread. Those that claim she was trying to remove herself from the pictures being taken are clearly in error. Look at the pictures again! First, unless I am missing something, she is perched up on the couch with her legs NOT crossed very, very close to the president's desk at the beginning of the couch. Second, the full shot where she is not present shows much more of the couch and she is no longer on that section AT ALL.

George W. Bush, love him or hate him, was never seen not wearing a suit and tie unless he was on vacation. When asked why that was, his response was (paraphrased), "I wear a suit out of respect for the office I hold."

That, first, last and foremost, should be the grounding thought of all who are in Mr. Trump's employ.

NO, this thread convinces me, and should prove to you, that many of us have one standard for ourselves and people we like, and a different standard for others.

Your facetious words about calling the White House and demanding she resign are typical of people who want to belittle something that although improper, was done by someone they like.

And yes, conservatives are doomed as long as they act like democrats and overlook their own faults while condemning the other side for the same thing.

Remember the thread we had here of Obama with his feet on the desk?

This was a Drudge headline with large picture.
I'm not saying it's all that serious, but she needs to learn a little more discipline. It's one thing to shoot from the hip with hostile reporters during a campaign and it's another to contradict the President words after an election, or tell people to buy his daughters clothing line because you're upset with some reporters.
Self discipline is what it is all about.
I know she's new, but she needs to learn fast. Think before she opens her mouth. Think before you do anything that can be misinterpreted, because it will be with the media we have now.
And you know damn well that Melania or Ivanka would never be caught like that during a formal meeting in the Oval office.

Doesn't bother me at all.

For what she did helping Trump get in that office she could be in PJ's and I wouldn't care.

IMO even if you don't like it - it bothers me that - you would take sides with the left.

That is the only think I admire about the left - that they don't attack each other.

They are more concerned with winning.

Attacking her - is helping the left.

I'm good with anyone who helped Trump win. I'm not attacking her, but I AM criticizing.
Strongly.
I call it as I see it, not as I thought it was, nor as I would prefer it to be.
If that photo showed the Mooch, rather than KellyAnne, we would all have a LOT to say about it.
Rightly so. No need to be a hypocrite.

I doubt either of the previous aides "could" sit like that.......lol. And I don't see anyone there in the Oval looking nasty at her for doing it either. It shows me that she is comfortable is all. And that the President doesn't mind. After all the foo for all tho, I bet she doesn't do it again. Sigh. These libs nitpick at everything.

Concur 100%, Wise Owl... Some folks will look for anything to attack President Trump, his family, his Administration... Anything. No matter what the President does, there will be those who will attack him...

Excellent point WE would have.

The other side would have DEFENDED her.

Not attacked her like a lot on here have.

She in under more criticism than - very few in this countries history - has ever been.

And now our side is in attack mode.

Every day I worry she will give up and quit.

And if I was her - after the crap our side is putting on her - over something so insignificant - I would say SCREW you all - I going to homeschool my kids.

Tell me if our side wins in getting her to quit - who is out there who could possibly fill her shoes?

Perfect example of biting the hand that feeds you.

To me this seems like a great big nothingburger. But, here's a thought. Maybe she isn't trying to be disrespectful necessarily to the office and the president-but rather to the crew of dindus that was let into the room? Perhaps a passive form of showing disdain, like looking past dindus when they acknowledge you?

First I heard of it, was AOL, and just a headline, no pic. I figured another Fake News attack, and she had needed to put her feet up maybe after a dizzy spell. Lately, she looks like death-warmed-over, and appears half umkempt (her hair is a thin stringy mess). The stress shows, and she has probably been working too hard. I don't follow her life; I hope she doesn't quit, but, lapse of judgement... whatever, that spike heel in upholstery was not acceptable. Totally inappropriate. It is what it is.

You remind me of an Officer - freaking out at his best sniper - who just saved his life - because his shoes are not shined - on the day he has to re up or not.

Perspective - man - perspective.

If she is wrong only an idiot publicly humiliates her.

They take her aside and say - you are great and I'm thankful - I'll defend you - but please no more of that.

As I ask in another post -

What are we going to do if you guys and your - join the liberals - in a pile on mentality - are successful in getting her to quit?

I stand by the statements I posted earlier in this thread. And that's not attacking.

Too many people in this country subscribe to the "greater scum" theory of politics. That is, "my guy might be scum, but the other side's guy is way scummier than my guy." Thus, if our guy does the same thing the other side's guy did, we tend to overlook it, while if their guy does it, we yell and scream. This incident is an offshoot of that.

I choose to hold "our guys" accountable for the same things I hold "their guys" accountable for. If some of you can't accept that, then you should probably review your own political biases.

Just sayin...

This! I had the audacity to post on FB (on someone else's post) that is was a very unladylike pose and that I was disappointed in her. Not one person agreed with me, and were upset with my post. Its very hypocritical because I know they would have had a fit if someone from the left had done this.

Yes, they are making a mountain out of a molehill with this episode, but it was a very unprofessional and unladylike way to act in the White House. If she was at home, its fine, but we are talking about the White House and around a group of dignitaries.

Once again the liberal media has thrown sand in your eyes. They have blinded you to the BIG PICTURE here, and successfully diverted your attention from what really matters.

What the story SHOULD be about: Just weeks into his presidency, Trump invites dozens of black university leaders for a major conference on education.

But that doesn't fit the false narrative that President Trump is a racist, and hostile to the wants and needs of the black populace. So instead, everyone's attention is steered to a woman who momentarily put her feet on the furniture. I can't believe everyone on this thread so far took the bait.

OPEN YOUR EYES, PEOPLE. Sheesh.

Not defending her sitting like that in the oval office but it looks to me like she might of tried to back into the couch enough to get out of the way of the picture and the camara person decided to make her an obvious shot in the picture. Look how off center the President is. The whole shot looks off to me. What a crappy camara person if that's the case.

That's what I was thinking, if she had her feet on the floor, legs crossed or not, it would have blocked the Presidential seal on the carpet, she probably would have been better off just moving off the couch altogether.

Playing the game of "defending the dignity" of the oval office is a bit much. It seems somebody is really having a hard time putting reality into perspective. I don't care if Trump wore a sweat shirt and yoga pants to do the job. The priority is to clean out the waste, corruption, unlawfulness and treason in this country. You bet your ass I can allow much more leniency for someone actually doing the job as compared with a treasonous devil threatening my life, freedoms and family.
