I give up.
I've watched a couple of the last tournaments, Tiger is getting old, and I mean really old, as far as pro golf is concerend.
Now is the time he should become one of those "beloved legends" like Arnie, Jack, etc.

If it wasn't for cheating on his wife with a long list of prostitutes he might well have, but not now.Now is the time he should become one of those "beloved legends" like Arnie, Jack, etc.

With the amount of damage to that front end, it's going to be a LONG time before he's able to walk again-let alone play golf. Pray the old boy gets to walk again; he can try golf later.
That impact on the front was completely dead center-had to be a high rate of speed to generate that kind of damage.
I'm surprised he survived to be honest, and the day is still young on that prognosis.
I hate to say it, but he might not survive it. Blood clots in the legs with that amount of injury (think IED going off under you without severing your legs) are a given.
I'm not a crash expert, but I look at cars trucks and SUVs every day-that crash was BAD. Bad as in marginally survivable. Media is focusing on the leg injuries-head and torso injuries have to be in play as well. That suv looks like it hit a wall straight on at a high rate of speed. At 60 mph, a crash like that is equivalent to falling off a 9 story building. Not to mention the secondary and tertiary head and neck injuries; the leg injuries are minimal compared to the neck and head. Curtain side airbags at those velocities aren't going to do much, if anything at all.
I am not saying he was under any influence. But he could not possibly have been tested for all of that yet. Perscribed Prescription drugs included. So that report is not credible based on the timing. What this tells me is that even if he was impaired then the fix is in.LA sheriffs dept source:
no alcohol no drugs involved
sorry nopeI doubt that he was impaired at 7 am. There were two vehicles involved and no word about the second vehicle or the condition of the other driver, which makes me suspicious about the second driver. It would not surprise me if the other driver was an impaired illegal with a false license.
Yup I just edited my post. I had heard two vehicles involved in earlier reports from faux news.sorry nope
LA Sheriff in news briefing says SOLO vehicle
me too added more info lolYup I just edited my post. I had heard two vehicles involved in earlier reports from faux news.
More pics. He's lucky he didn't roll into that street:

He was across that street traveling (North which is downhill). He is said to have hit a medium city boundary sign as he crossed the elevated curbed medium, crossed into the oncoming traffic lane, jumped that curb, and rolled UP-HILL a few more flipping car lengths.
I know that road a bit.
He is extremely lucky not to have involved other lives.
A lot of young Kamikaze challenge their vehicles and themselves on this down hill run.
I told my son you said this ^^^^^^^^^^^ and he said he was stupid for taking a 7 AM meeting. He jumped out of bed at @ 6:45, ran in the shower, and stumbled out the door wet. Without his coffee. That'll do it.
Ever ride as a passenger with someone on pain meds for their back? You know, the serious meds they give for a serious condition? Well you won’t do it again unless you’re seriously wasted.I see what you did there.
Actually Woods was in a single vehicle accident. Another driver stopped to render aid and his car was struck by another vehicle. It was a minor accident and neither of those drivers were hurt.Yup I just edited my post. I had heard two vehicles involved in earlier reports from faux news.
Shattered ankle and 2 leg fractures, one of which was compound.
Ouch! Yeah, he's on the wrong side of 40 for those to knit easily and well, although they have some truly amazing therapies these days, and as others mentioned above, he'll get the best available. But I think a return to top level competitive golf is unlikely... although I also thought Drew Brees' multiple rib fractures and collapsed lung would be career ending- and he led the Saints to the championship game! Modern medicine plus human heart is truly amazing.Shattered ankle and 2 leg fractures, one of which was compound.

I hate to see this happen to anyone. However, even if the “statement” says no drugs, I have a REALLY difficult time believing that. But he’s screwed up everything now either way you look at it. Of course, he will receive wonder care. Not what we would receive.
If you have “handlers” they can pretty much get anyone to say anything. Not saying that’s what happened, but uh, you can also say day after day that Bidet has no mental issues and a lot of people will believe it. But I’m a pessimist I know. I call BS.

I predict he will try to make a comeback, even if brief. Alex Smith, an NFL QB, made it back to the field after a gruesome leg injury not unlike Joe Theismann's. Though he won't be the same for sure.Ouch! Summerthyme
Genesis vehicles are supremely crash worthy. That's one of the new Genesis suv's. Hyundai makes them, they're trying to make the genesis brand in the image of Lexus. Extremely high quality build and finish. 5 star rated crash protection too.
I'd definitely label this a marginally survivable accident.
