I know how long it took for my trimaleolar ankle fracture to heal. A LONG EFFING TIME.

As to tox screen, if he rolled in around 8:15 gorked like he was they would have drawn that along with the trauma panel of blood, and would have known PRECISELY where he was drug/alcohol wise before 10. BTDT. On a trauma as SOON as you get venous access you draw bloods. Usually about 6-8 tubes of various contents for the blood drawn, and in that literal fistfull is what they need to run a tox screen. they KNEW when the Sheriff answered the question. They NEEDED TO KNOW so the knew what they could and COULD NOT use for surgery etc.

Maybe, eventually, we'll stop hearing about this clown. He puts a ball in a fricking hole! Yeesh, once it's there, leave it there, and the problem's over, so you can do something else with more point.

Like the Kardashians and Martin King, his 15 minutes was over a long, long time ago.

Unsettling future for golf after Tiger Woods crash
By Steve Keating
4 Min Read

(Reuters) - Already in the final chapter of one of golf’s greatest careers, Tiger Woods may have penned a shocking end to that story on Tuesday when the winner of 15 majors was involved in a single-car crash and taken to the hospital with multiple injuries.

Battered by years of back and knee surgeries, Woods has recently spent as much time away from the PGA Tour recovering from injury as he has on the course, providing the golf world an unsettling glimpse of what the future might look like without its biggest drawing card.

“I think golf has accommodated the fact that Tiger is no longer going to be active in attending events on a regular basis,” Neal Pilson, the head of Pilson Communications and former president of CBS Sports, told Reuters. “I think he has lifetime exemptions at every major event but I suspect we are probably not going to see Tiger in a competitive golf event going forward.

“In his prime, it was clearly established if Tiger was playing on Sunday, numbers for Sunday coverage were usually up 25 to 30%,” Pilson said. “If he doesn’t play again, he will be missed for sure.”

Almost since the moment he burst on the professional scene in 1996, Woods has been the tide that raised all boats, a crossover star who drove television ratings, purses and endorsements to spectacular heights.

With more viewers came more sponsors and larger purses, with Woods creating a new class of golfing millionaires.

That popularity made Woods one of sports’ richest athletes, Forbes anointing him in 2009 as the first athlete to reach $1 billion in career earnings (prize money and endorsements).

Along with injuries, the 45-year-old has survived several scandals throughout his career including a 2017 arrest on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said on Tuesday there was no indication that Woods was under the influence of any substances at the time of the accident.

If Tuesday’s car crash was purely an accident, and even if it affects Woods’ ability to play golf in the future, his longtime sponsors may stick by him, said Patrick Rishe, director of the sports business program at Washington University in St. Louis.

“Because of his historical success, there’s still value in partnering with him,” Rishe said. “There’s plenty of athletes who are still brand endorsers who have long been retired.”

REVOLUTIONIZED GOLF
For more than a decade, golf has waited for Woods’ successor to emerge from a crop of prodigious hitters and skilled young players, but none has been able to grasp his mantle or the imagination of the golfing public.

There were signs Woods had been on the cusp of passing the torch and not to world No. 1 Dustin Johnson or Rory McIlroy but to his son Charlie, when they partnered last November in the PNC Championship, a joint PGA/LPGA Tour family tournament.

The 11-year-old Woods showed he had some of his father’s golfing genes, from the twirl of his club to walking in a birdie putt.

The greatest golfer of his generation, Woods, as the game’s first African-American superstar, did more than rewrite the record book but changed the way golf is played and looked, bringing diversity to a sport that had been the domain of the white middle class.

With never-before-seen power, Woods revolutionized the game, forcing gold courses, even iconic Augusta National, to Tiger-proof layouts.

While Woods appears to have another long, grueling road back to fitness in front of him, one of the hallmarks of his remarkable career has been resilience.

Former President Barack Obama wished Woods a speedy recovery in a tweet on Tuesday night, adding: If we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s to never count Tiger out.”

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
He’s had it all, and lost much along his path. I like the man, wish him well, hope he’s learned from his mistakes. I’d call him one of the more honorable celebrity sport stars.........given the nature of man.

Hyundai Genisis GV80 beta test?

/s/
The Hyundai Genesis GV80 that Tiger Woods was driving was a beta prototype of their entry into the flying car category which Toyota is also getting into. While equipped with the dashboard buttons to enable flight mode, it seemed that Wood's car was not, in fact, fitted with the full suite of flight options.
Notably missing were the propellers and wings.

I hate to say it, but he might not survive it. Blood clots in the legs with that amount of injury (think IED going off under you without severing your legs) are a given.
I'm not a crash expert, but I look at cars trucks and SUVs every day-that crash was BAD. Bad as in marginally survivable. Media is focusing on the leg injuries-head and torso injuries have to be in play as well. That suv looks like it hit a wall straight on at a high rate of speed. At 60 mph, a crash like that is equivalent to falling off a 9 story building. Not to mention the secondary and tertiary head and neck injuries; the leg injuries are minimal compared to the neck and head. Curtain side airbags at those velocities aren't going to do much, if anything at all.

Yes, I heard he was staying on the South side of the peninsula, while trying to make time traveling up & over & around to the North-West side of the hill. Golf course hotel, to golf course.

Hill’s have no pity for those who ignore the laws of physics, or sound judgement behind the wheel.

one thing's certain---

He'll never be in a hurry again....:(

He must have been hauling some serious a**! The front of the car is. Gone.... stub rails gone, and they're high strength steel. Wheels sheared at the control arms-he was flying to obliterate the front of the vehicle that completely. Engine and trans shifted completely under the vehicle. Looks like a toyota highlander-its a wonder he's alive.

I can't tell a thing from those tiny little pictures, and I've yet to see a close-up one. You must have good eyes (I admit I don't, not any more).

I am wondering if this was a botched suicide attempt.

I don't think so---finally found some close-up pics and VIDEOS OF HIM DRIVING (from roadside cams) RIGHT BEFORE THE ACCIDENT.

There's a good video of him driving by--he doesn't appear to be driving that fast there but then long distances can be deceptive, and the article says he hadn't yet gotten to the downhill grade where he went off the road:

6:48 PM PT -- TMZ Sports obtained the first video of Tiger driving Tuesday morning on Hawthorne Blvd, minutes before the crash.

This surveillance video shows 2 vehicles heading uphill -- Tiger's Genesis GV80 SUV is trailing behind a minivan at just past 7:05 AM PT. You can see the logo on the door for the Genesis Invitational golf tournament, for which Tiger was in town. He didn't appear to be driving exceptionally fast at this point.

Remember, cops say they got the call about Tiger's accident at 7:12 AM, and where this video was shot is roughly 5 miles south of where he wrecked. You can see there's a big curve in the road -- not unlike the spot where he crashed, except that was downhill where he'd likely be carrying more speed into the turns.

PLUS a report from (if I'm understanding him right) a man who saw Tiger at his hotel around 7 am that morning--and that he was "in a hurry" -- so much so that he nearly hit someone getting out of the parking lot.

Sounds like some have speculated here---he was LATE and was speeding--

TMZ has learned ... Tiger was staying at a hotel where a major network television show was being shot. Production sources tell TMZ, when the director arrived just before 7 AM, Tiger was driving his SUV very fast as he was leaving the property and almost hit the director's car. The director was shaken enough to tell production staff about it after he parked.

A crew member who saw Tiger as he got in his SUV at the hotel tells TMZ, once Tiger got in his vehicle, there was a delay in driving off -- we're told his SUV was blocked by another car that was loading luggage -- and he appeared "agitated and impatient." The crew member says once the delay was over, Tiger "took off fast."

Tiger was scheduled to arrive at Rolling Hills CC at 7:30 AM PT for a shoot ... he was reportedly going to give Drew Brees lessons.
