As seen in the video, these two scumbags were trying to kill the victim. Any blow/strike to the head is considered deadly force. With the repeated stumps on the victim's head, there is no question about it being deadly force. Deadly force can be used to stop this attack by anyone there. They could use a firearm, bat, 2x4, knife, car or whatever they have. Of course you could use something other than deadly force, if it will stop the attack. The minimum about of force is always best, but that might be deadly force.

It probably bears repeating for anyone who might be willing to intervene in such a situation, it's likely a very good idea to understand your state's laws regarding the protection of a person not known to you...

In Florida, it seems pretty clear cut that you are able to come to the aid of an apparently innocent third-party who is being threatened with death or severe bodily harm, but as with all law there are ... intricacies.
