"Equity" involves all humans kept to a single level/condition.

Thus in their compulsion they get to view themselves as the "saviors" of mankind. This by deciding your fate to a possibly unproven and more likely self-serving condition for them.

It, of course, is ALL a fabrication of their own creation for EXACTLY this reason.

More like equity becomes "Any reason is a good one to dominate you and elevate me."

It would be sad and possibly fatal to humanity generally if the human spirit could be so constrained. At least part of the reason for the short life-span of any non-representative government is the eventual "drying up" of human agency under these constraints.

Without the butter of "incentive," humanity is dry toast. You become chattel of your "betters." And their compulsion is insufficient incentive.

This is plain to me. I live this life.

You can but you won't because "your betters" (i.e your tribal elders) will deem it "prideful" (ie, you do it because you want something more) or somehow it will offend "Mother Gia" (like they're the only person who can decide what Mother Gia wants) or even the fact that you choose to exercise your "agency."

There will be "proof of need." Large families get a pass lest they be inadequately housed. Or "proof of capability. Like a Building Permit keeps the unsafe or out of conformance construction "regulated." Or even "value acceleration." Like property taxes net more for the additional inspection, loading of common resources that a large mud hut will represent.

This akin to the "it takes a village" attitude of the Democrats. You don't get to do ANYTHING without the support and approval of those around you.

This goes far beyond Obama. I read limits to growth back in the mid 90s in college. This book was used as an official textbook at the Kennedy School of Government and others..... where most of our Senior Executive Service aka deep state folks got educated.

Malthus preceded all of this. Insightful (to say the least) Malthus has not been supported by actual outcomes since the early 19th century.

Malthus did not anticipate human ingenuity. Did not anticipate harnessing of fossil fuels, or the myriad of other energy sources (including solar and wind). Did not anticipate genetic advantaging of food production (like it or not GM corn is a staple worldwide.) Or improving techniques of food production. (like "integrated" agriculture which creates "cycles" between plant growth, husbandry, and recycling.) Or the effect that something as simple as "education" can have on human reproduction (by in large the more educated a population is, the less reproductive - so called "modern" countries actually have birth rates today which are below the "replacement requirement" - and the population is shrinking - possibly to their national detriment.)
