1946 Cessna 140.
An uncle owned one of these and, one time when visiting, took a 16 year-old-me up to 6,000 feet and proceeded to do a tailspin. I had a ball but Mom just about stroked out because she watched the whole thing from the airport, thinking we were crashing. Uncle Stanley had some ‘splaining to do after landing.

SHORT STORY:
1975 Honda CB360T
I bought this used in 1978 with 1200 miles, just after getting married. Enjoyed it for a few years until responsibility and kid came along, stuck it in the shed and forgot about it. 20 years later, fixed it up but didn’t really run right- back into the shed!
Finally, last year I took it to a pro who went thru all the mechanicals and made everything right. Been riding it all summer and she runs like a brand new bike! The bride and I will be celebrating our 45th anniversary and are still lovin’ it. The odometer just turned 9300 miles.
This was NOT a restoration- all paintwork and chrome are original, the motor and transmission have never been opened, even the seat cover is original!

And I was riding mine in 1984. Paid $350 for it, had less than 500 miles on it.

You're not old.

The bottom middle picture is like the last phone that I had. When I finally tossed it (not too many years ago), I looked on the bottom. It said Property of MaBell.
LOl that first pic in the grouping here the couch? I had that entire set. Couch, 2 chairs and the coffee table that went with it. I loved that set. They seemed to last forever.

Early 80s, 80, 81 and 82 I was there, we had a dance hall, called "Happy Trails" they played classic and new rock for the time with a DJ. Had a pool table, snack bar and arcade. Age limit was encouraged at 13 to 17. Cover charge was a dollar.

Placed near the woods. On the edge of what we called town, so there was bonfires and kegger party's often close by.

No such thing today, I don't think.

Kennedy Space Center display of most significant rockets, from Mercury to Gemini to Apollo (lying horizontal in background, plus Telstar. Gave me a huge flashback, watching each of these do their thing.

Surprisingly, seeing them up close and personal, they are not nearly as big as I had envisioned seeing them on TV. That made their accomplishments seem even more moving. Note the two people at the base of the one of far left, for scale. The second one is much closer, half the distance to the men standing between the two Mercury vehicles. The nearby Shuttle launch model setup is freaking massive, though

Note wife standing just to its right, for scale

Department stores I remember back in the 1960s did not look like anything we have today.
The town (Riverhead N.Y.) Went all out with decorating the down town area and the two traffic circles they have it was a sight to see. Some time durning the mid 1980s I asked what ever happened to all the Christmas decorations they use to put up they had no idea and said they would look into that, two months later they told me it's all sitting in a warehouse all boxed up and was surprised how much of it was in there.
I like to see them put it up for Christmas and if anyone complained tell them to stay home or find another country to live in.
