I never took the test. Why give our enemy (the governments…) any free information about ourselves?

leave them uncertain and with holes in the profiles they are constantly updating on us. It may be the only thing that makes it hard to ambush you…

Yeah, left me wondering who this new person is, and what did they do with the old me....
Back in the 90s, British Petroleum in Alaska went on a Myers-Briggs kick. I found out afterwards that I'd driven the moderators crazy because I kept landing on each side of the lines and they couldn't definitively pin me down. They actually sent a second round of "experts" who re-tested the (very) few of us who weren't so clearly definable according to their ideas.

Turns out I was so close to the line that it almost depended on circumstance more than internal factors and they had to test me using a different "instrument", as they called it. The second one sort of defined the differences between my personal preferences vs. doing the job I might be doing at the time. I am naturally somewhat introverted, for instance, but needed to be strongly extroverted to lead the rig team in its daily operations plus interfacing with the various departments which needed to know what we were up to (and I was, and am, comfortable with that). But I needed personal time occasionally to recharge and couldn't do that without some alone time. Fishing in Alaska worked well for that.

I don't know but I think they were all full of BS. One does what it takes to do the job and also does what it takes to refresh.

I would never take the test at work (those stupid, fluff team-building exercises and such). Hey - somebody had to mind the shop while the rest were off wasting time. Fully suspected as a young person starting out after college that the few times I took the Myers-Briggs for a job application process, it worked against me.

Management doesn't want to deal with INTJ's. We make them look incompetent when they are. If they aren't incompetent, they are probably INTJ's.

This^^^ This is what I learned living in a university town for the past 28 years, genius, being an INTJ, doesn't always mean they have common sense, or can even drive a vehicle properly.
I have found just being me, INTJ and 140+ doesn’t make me socially adept. Common sense isn’t bad, and I can drive just fine. When I was commuting 300 miles a day, I noticed my driving became, not aggressive, but assertive. Not reckless, but efficient. I had a long way to go, and a short time to get there. Also mastered the Power Nap.

A judgemental perfectionist? Would explain the land surveyor career, (and the late wife...) but not the wood gas vehicles, geodesic domes, alternate energy, spiritual and other pursuits filed under idealistic (And top secret...) . Again, keep the enemy guessing...(and tentatively fearful...)

The test isnt perfect. I dont strive for perfection like I use to. And Ive learned not to be so judgmental.

I want Gods definition of perfection however.

Balance, Temperance, longsuffering, meekness, are just a few.
And He still has some work to do on me.:)

Female INTJ.

I used to print oval labels for the lotion I made, and I can't tell you how many
sheets I threw away due to the printer making them a 'touch' off-center.

One day I realized that no one, absolutely no one, would notice if they were a
hair off.

It took a week of forcing myself to let non-perfect ones through, and then
I never looked back.

If you're the expert, you see the 'pre-warts', customers sometimes don't even
see the boulders.
