CHAT The INTJ critter

Instead of being annoyed/frustrated, I had to come to the realization years ago that many other people's brains are wired differently. There might possibly be a use for them in advancing the culture/knowledge base/human condition that I have yet to discover. Otherwise, I can't see the economy and natural selection value in so many of them being so spatially handicapped. ;)

Right.

Also the ones in my trade that can't see the math/geometry are often my clients.

Gotta love them even if they are annoying. Some of my bread and butter too!

I’m painfully INTJ. Take the test annually to see if my results change. I answer honestly because I do want to see valid results.

I would be very interested to see a change and the excitement of analyzing to see if I can find a root cause. Was it a major event with a paradigm shift and immediate change? A small event that trended over time to a change? Or just growing older and wiser?

And my OCD is still cringing from the op. The intentional use of a number then a letter on the major bullet points. Major points will use numbers and then letters for minor, or vice versa. That is the well established format and it is bothering me knowing someone intelligent did that.

You do realize that was a joke, right? Targeted specifically at INTJ people.

Doubt it will change, though I think at least some of we female INTJ's mellow a bit in favor of more "feelz" post-menopause. Must be those darned grandkids. ;)

I can see back to a strain of INTJ-ness on my Dad's maternal line - people I actually knew...including probably my Grandmother, and definitely her male siblings and their kids. Very intelligent, solid, competent, decisive, yet always pushing the frontiers. Engineers, inventors, "fixers"...it fits.

Anywho..who needs a cause. It's a Blessing.

I found myself wondering (of course) if our little subspecies tends to be,
A. Conservative
2. Highly intelligent
Or are we A. because we are 2.
Perhaps we are 2. because we are A.
Getting a headache now.

I find that it is the fact and logic based approach of INTJ thinking. Much of the liberal ideology is grounded not on logic or fact, but emotion. This is automatically 2 strikes with an INTJ. INTJs are notorious for not being receptive to emotional appeals. Also, do not come at me unless you have facts and logic.

Notice it a lot from my wife. Does not want to use IVM because it is used for horses. Not even tablets, which horses don’t use. Also doesn’t like packaged food next to cat litter while shopping. Both are in sealed containers and the litter is unused. Go figure.

Think that came from Seinfeld.
I like things like “He’s not the sharpest sandwich in the chandelier.”

I never got into Seinfeld. I've seen a few episodes and never understood why it was such a phenomenon, same with Friends both of which were trendy with my generation.

So I recently decided to go back to school and Monday I reached my annoyance threshold with this 18 year old who always talks about her OCD. We tend to congregate in the science building before astronomy class so I chat with her twice a week. Where am I going with this?

I told the girl I can test her OCD and took her to one of the display cases, specifically the one that had a placard saying dendrochronology. I asked her to rearrange in a proper pattern and she was stumped. I said count the y as a vowel...

So, INTJ with a splash of OCD answer. Dendrochronology is 16 letters made of 10 consonants and 6 vowels which was nice and easy with both sets being even. There is a breakdown pattern: EDN ODR OCHO RNO LGY. The mirror split is between the C and H. I drew the mirroring and she said she does not make patters, so I told her she was definitely not OCD.

One of my things is license plates. Ours are in the 1ABC234. I look for straights on the numbers, like poker, the occasional two pair, etc. Amazing how many there are.

There is an amazing amount of over analysis in this thread.
We haven't yet begun to analyze. If one of our code writers here could come up with an in-house Myers Briggs, then we can start collecting data to analyze. We can then extrapolate in all kinds of ways; distribution of personality types across this broad, post count to personality type, and dozens of other ways.

why reinvent the wheel?
