“Prudence, indeed, will dictate (which) Evils are sufferable. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations under absolute Despotism, it’s Americans duty to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

US Constitution Preamble

Have we reached the point of unbridled despotism?

Texas GOP floats secession after Supreme Court defeat
by Anthony Leonardi, Breaking News Reporter

| December 11, 2020 08:24 PM

The Texas Republican Party chairman released a statement that all but calls for the state to secede from the Union immediately.

The statement was released after the Supreme Court rejected a Texas challenge to President-elect Joe Biden's wins in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

"The Supreme Court, in tossing the Texas lawsuit that was joined by seventeen states and 106 US congressmen, have decreed that a state can take unconstitutional actions and violate its own election law. Resulting in damaging effects on other states that abide by the law, while the guilty state suffers no consequences. This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the US constitution and not be held accountable," the statement reads.

"This decision will have far reaching ramifications for the future of our constitutional republic. Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution," the statement continues.

It ends with a sentence that says the "Texas GOP will always stand for the Constitution and for the rule of law even while others don't."

The decision means all Trump-nominated justices on the Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett, sided against the president's case. The Electoral College will meet to vote Monday to make Biden the next president of the United States.

The lawsuit all but ends President Trump's chances at overturning the results of the election in key swing states.

Just remember this.

"No standing".

That's what you say when they say "you can't do that because...".

They have no standing with us.

No standing “on Texas determining how another State runs it elections”? Yet that wasn’t the complaint it was that those 4 States didn’t follow Article II of the US Constitution during the election while other States did, creating diluted results.

If this should be attempted; we could see UN troops on the ground and Chinese troops pouring in from Canada and Mexico. Bad Idea!!

My fear on this is that if the states do secede then the people in those state would no longer be under the Constitution.
I am sure another would be written quickly, but who would be trusted to write it, and in the currant 'woke' mentality, how many currant rights would disappear, and how many perversions would become rights?
Would marriage be a man and woman, or would people 'have the right' to marry anyone, or anything?
Would people still be allowed guns, or would that be limited to the police and military?
Would people still have freedom of religion, or would we all have to become atheists?
Would people again have the right of ex post facto, would that just be forgotten, since it is so ignored now?
You get the idea..

As for Texas, we'd run under our existing Constitution of 1876 and amend as needed. I have no idea what the other states might do, or how encompassing their constitution and state government structure is.

For more information on what's going down here, visit the TNM website's Texit page.

We are attending a meeting where David Miller is speaking this week.
Should be interesting.
You mean Daniel, and the thing going on in San Marcos? Should be a good one. It's not far from me but I can't get shook loose in time to get there. Love to see him get to Kerrville or Fredericksburg, close enough where it's not too long on my wife's behind in her wheelchair, we'd be there in a heartbeat....but 4hr of driving on top of the event, just too much :/

Charmer, the process has begun in Texas. Rep. Kyle Biedermann (Fredericksburg) has filed a bill in the House to put a referendum on a ballot this November asking if Texas should reassert its independence.

It was Great!
Several hundred patriots attended.
The venue indicated that masks were necessary to enter. That did not happen, only the employees of the venue wore a mask.
Both Rep. Kyle Biedermann and Daniel Miller had informative discussions.
Texas has a detailed process to go through to become the Republic of Texas.
20 other states have inquired on the process.
The TEXIT lawn signs are now available.

I can guess on some of them. Wyoming, Oklahoma, one or both of the Dakotas, Mississippi, Louisiana.... of course these are guesses, I have no knowledge of anything concrete.

Yep ! All very valid concerns.

:ld:
Keep those concerns in mind when people start talking in favor of a convention of the states
