I couldn't find Duke's mayo at my walmart, so I went online. I always only buy from retailer "Walmart", no pro-sellers (I got scammed once by a pro-seller, they sent an empty package. And even tho Walmart made it right, it was a hassle).

Almost nothing except lo-sugar or olive oil. Then I spotted a jar for $10.28, expensive but ok I bought two. They came a couple of days ago, and they're GALLONS. Omg, what am I going to do with gallons of mayo :shr: .

lol, thats a lot of Sammie’s!

I just bought a dehydrator. I've had a small one for years, to make beef jerky, but I finally splurged and got an Excalibur. Think I could make dog food and dehydrate it? Maybe dehydrate turkey, rice, carrots & peas separately? Or would it be better in the freezer? My pug Maisie needs her homemade food :-)

Went to Fred Meyers yesterday
CLOROX disinfecting bleach in a HALF GALLON (2 liter) plastic JUG was $5 !
Thats at least 100% INFLATION !

Inflation is getting to the point where the MINIMUM WAGE TO LIVE is $30 an hour, for the even the LEAST SKILLED, QUALIFIED people.

As I was making my monthly online shopping list for Walmart, got a huge surprise.

A one gallon jug of bleach was listed at $51 !!!!!

Apparently if my local Walmart is out of something they will suggest alternative sources.

So third party dealers, not part of Walmart, will ask sky high prices. Hoping a buyer is desperate.

I also noticed that some of stuff I regularly buy isn't even listed anymore. Poof! It's gone.

Tried the Hy Vee delivery service and so far is good.
But Hy Vee prices are high.

The bleach i was talking about was on the shelf, in the Fred Meyer store, Not third party! $5 for a half gallon.
WINE is cheaper than bleach!

Kids were making a Costco run today. NO chicken breasts. I had asked them to buy a few packs for when I'm there because they usually like the thighs and I'm not a big fan. Chicken is probably my number one meat in my diet. They're going to check the commissary when they get back home.
Dark meat chicken HAS MUCH MORE NUTRITION THAN BREAST MEAT!

Central Iowa: shoe polish, leather cleaners, and shoe care products in general are in short supply all over.

Yes, there are homemade cleaners! But I thought that I'd mention that commercial products in my area.

Was at Wally World today. No spaghetti, (Zip, Neine, None, Zero) and no bags of noodles at all. They had just a few boxes of those shells and about 50 cartons of lasagna noodles. I was wanting some angel hair for my shrimp scampi this weekend but I guess it'll be over rice.

Not exactly food, but I went to Tractor Supply today for kitty litter ... they had exactly TWO pails... the 20 foot long, 3 shelves aisle was otherwise empty!

I told hubby if I could have gotten help to load them, I would have bought both! Darned shop cats- mother and daughter- are super uunters, but in hubby's words, "they sh!t like heifers" LOL! Sure hope Tractor Supply will have some when this pail runs out. I figure Chewy's prices have to be higher to cover shipping, but I'll check.

We all need to be flexible about our menus. No bags of noodles use eggs and flour and make your own. No pasta then use rice. I love beef but other than ground beef I have not bought any for over a year. I'd love some beef stew, but not at the price of stew beef right now. Pork is reasonable in price so I eat that or chicken or ham.

I take two ladies to the mobile food pantry every second month and since I qualify, I get the food too. Last month we were given a 10# bone in ham. Since I have a LOT of ham in the freezer from Christmas, I decided I would can this ham. Today I made and canned split pea with ham soup. Tomorrow I plan to can plain ham. Once its canned, its shelf stable for years.

Local grocery has tuna for 58c/can and mayo (store brand) for $2.98 (cheap for here). Our chickens are laying a LOT, so really I should just make mayo, but I'm lazy. I will see what Safeway has for sale tomorrow before I decide if I will venture to town or not. It's cold here and I just don't want to leave home.

I don't think there was more than one employee in the entire store. It likely would have taken forever, IF she could have even left the store to help. Funny, though... there's a homeless guy begging at the plaza entrance... 50 feet from a store that's desperate for help.

I should have grabbed it, but I'm in physical therapy to rebuild my depleted muscle mass and stamina, trying to stabikize my spine and prevent the need for surgery. Serropeptase (or *something*!) has reduced my inflammation and neurogenic pain about 90%. But I'm very leery of overloading the spine until I get my core back a bit!

The store we have here is covered up in help. 5-6 staff on the floor about any time you walk thru the door. They will load up feed on the cart for my GF and after check out one of the staff will push the cart to the truck and load it for her.

Gee, Summerthyme, maybe for a tip, that homeless beggar might have lifted two buckets of litter from the door of the store into your vehicle.

I have gotten so weak and rickety looking nowadays, that people going in or out of the store often stop and offer to help me with heavy things. Even young girls and women have done so. I just smile and accept the help with much thanks, and hope it makes them feel as good as it always did me when I used to do the same for others when I was young and strong.

People in Arkansas are mostly as nice as can be, and I have never once regretted moving here over half my lifetime ago!

Judy, do you remember what brand it was that was empty?
The shelf was empty and the price tags on the shelf edge was small so I didn't look.

Actually this has been proven to be false, read about this a year or so ago.
It depends on where you get your information.

maybe for a tip, that homeless beggar
I've done this before when I was so tired I could hardly move much less load my groceries. I only had a $10 and gave it to him gladly, the man was so greatful.

God is good all the time

No offense taken.

The sickening sweetness of banana or jelly with peanut butter makes my stomach want to roll right over. I don't much care for sweet foods except for pie that contains fruit...apple, peach, blueberry, etc.

Guess I'm one of those rare people who really don't care much for most sweets.
