CHOUTEAU, Okla. — Many Chouteau residents have heavy hearts as they think about their beloved elementary school teacher, Shelly Snodgrass.
Snodgrass died unexpectedly yesterday, according to Chouteau Mazie Public School.
As the flag remains at half staff and the quaint community of Chouteau goes about life as normal, Shelly Snodgrass remains on their mind, especially for April Heidler and Renee Burns. They've been friends with Snodgrass since childhood.
“She was just the fun one you know what I mean," Heidler said. "She was the go-getter.”
Recent Stories from kjrh.com

For Heidler dealing with her own injury, she knew she could count on Snodgrass to check up on her. She remembers Snodgrass for going above and beyond, especially with her own son, Bradley.

“He (Bradley) is hilarious," Heidler said.

Snodgrass loved Bradley more than anything, and he clearly loved her back - along with every student who had the pleasure of being in her class.

“Alot of the kids she’s taught in the past that’s in high school, if you ask them who your favorite teacher was, it was always Ms. Snodgrass," Burns said.

Mischievous, athletic, and bright are some of the best words to descibe her. But most of all, she was a beloved teacher and mom.

“I always thought she’d be a nurse growing up with her and stuff, but teaching is where she needed to be," Burns said.

NORTON SHORES, MI – The Western Michigan Christian school community is mourning the sudden death of a high school student this week.

Alia Zuidema, 15, died as a result of a medical emergency on Saturday, April 29, 2023, WMC interim principal Clyde Rinsema told MLive/Muskegon Chronicle.

Zuidema was a freshman at WMC, where she played basketball, cross country and soccer.

Zuidema was described by school leaders as “an absolute gift from God who used her many talents as a shining light for Christ in everything she did,” according to a tribute posted to the school’s Facebook page.

“Alia had a great drive and a passion for everything she did because she lived on purpose,” the post states. “She lived by faith in Christ. That is where she drew her strength. Although our school community is rocked and shaken, it is with that faith we are able to find strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.”

Even as a freshman, Zuidema quickly emerged as a leader among her peers, school leaders wrote.

“We remember the cross-country runner who, as a freshman, ran hard at the MHSAA state final this year but always joked with teammates on long runs in the woods,” according to the Facebook post. “The basketball player who had fun on the court while still being fiercely competitive. The soccer player who worked hard, scored goals, and still made her teammates laugh. The teammate that ate the chocolate tops off our scotcharoos or called an opponent a ‘silly goose.’ The student and classmate who thought the piano was too loud in choir or didn’t want to sit in a chair but always did her best because learning mattered to her.”

Pastors and counselors were brought into the school on Monday to provide support to students following Zuidema’s sudden death, Rinsema said.

WMC will host a candlelight vigil in Zuidema’s memory at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at the WMU Outdoor Athletic Facility, located at 455 E. Ellis Road in Norton Shores.

A full obituary is expected to be posted to the Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services website on Tuesday, May 2.

Alia Zuidema is survived by her parents, Jason and Anne Zuidema.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Second Christian Reformed Church, located at 2021 Sheldon Road in Grand Haven.

16-Year-Old Alexandria High School Student Dies Suddenly at Home

by Jim Hoft May. 7, 2023 1:00 pm220 Comments

A freshman at Alexandria City High School was found dead in his room on Tuesday morning, and his family is still looking for answers about what happened.

Yonatan Vazquez Méndez, 16, was found lifeless in his bedroom by his father, one day after they all had a birthday party.

“I saw him lying on the floor. I ran and hugged him,” Vazquez Méndez’s father, Daniel Vasquez, told Telemundo44.

The teen’s parents have stated they had no clue what caused their son’s death.

According to NBC News, they had a birthday party for Mendez’s mom just the night before he died.

More from NBC News:

“I don’t understand what happened to my son because he had a life with many plans for him. I don’t even know what to say because he was a very obedient child,” the teen’s mother, María Anabel Méndez, said.

The cause of death of Yonatan Vazquez Méndez is under investigation.

A GoFundMe was created for the Vazquez Mendez family that had raised almost $6,000 as of Sunday, May 7.

“Yonathan was a son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend, and most importantly a child of God,” the fundraising page reads.

“He dedicated his time and life to Jesus Christ alongside his family and played the guitar in his congregation. During his free time he loved spending time with his family watching movies, play video games, while eating pizza and drinking his Starbucks. We ask during this difficult time that you pray for our family and we appreciate whatever amount God places in your heart, we thank you very much. God bless you!

In an email obtained by Daily Voice, ACHS Principal Peter Balas broke the news of Yonatan’s terrible death to the school community.

“Yonatan has been part of the Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) family since he was in middle school, and his passing is a sad and tragic loss for his family, friends and our school community.

“He was always respectful and was well liked by his peers. On behalf of the entire Titan community, we send our thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones.”

The family’s apartment was crowded Thursday with relatives who drove from Texas when they got the tragic news.

“I still can’t believe it because one day we had him with us and the other day we didn’t,” said Yonatan’s cousin Sindi Méndez.
His cousins said they saw Yonatan as a brother.

“He was very humble, sweet, kind, smart, energetic. He was, he was the type of person that … like, he was always there for you,” cousin Chris Depaz said.

Music was Yonatan’s passion and something he’d hoped to pursue as a profession, his family said. He played guitar for their church’s band every Sunday.

His parents said Yonatan had an important role in their family looking out for his two younger siblings and using his English language skills to help take care of the bills and other household business.

Alexandria police said they’re investigating the circumstances of the teen’s death and whether it had anything to do with opioids. They are awaiting a report from the medical examiner.

The family, however, said they’ve never seen any indication their son had tried drugs.

“I had a meeting with the counselor, and he said that they had never seen anything with Yonatan, and he told me, ‘Really, I congratulate you for being vigilant because not all mothers are like you,” María Anabel Méndez said.

My cousin’s son died yesterday.

He was a very healthy, 31 year old. He worked part time for the forestry service for several years, and just landed a very promising job full time with the US Park Service that was going to require that he move to Washington.

He did have a mild case of Covid back in January 2023, but he got over that pretty quick.

And as a government worker, he got the first two vaxes. I do not know if he ever got a booster.

He was packing Thursday to make the drive to DC. His Mom - a nurse - was there to help him pack and see him off.

He told his Mom he did not feel good. She took his BP, and it was very low.

So she took him to the hospital.

Within hours, he was intubated, His kidneys were failing on Friday.

He died yesterday afternoon.

Totally unexpected.

RIP, “Johnny” (not his real name)

I would like to know the time between getting the jab and the sudden death. What is the longest period? After a certain time do you enter a safe zone?
There has been observed a peak in deaths around five months or so. Safe zone, nope. Every day you wake up north of the grass is a gift. Assuming you’ve bought a lottery ticket at all.

Champion Waterskier ‘Died Suddenly’ At Age 18, Team Says

An 18-year-old Canadian water skier “died suddenly” May 6, his team announced Monday.

Michael Arthur “Micky” Geller was a freshman at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and a top-ranked Canadian water skier from Ontario, according to Water Ski Canada. Geller “died suddenly,” the team said in a statement. No further information has been released concerning his cause of death.

“It is with great sadness that the University will lower the University flag to half-staff in memory of Michael Arthur “Micky” Geller on Thursday, May 18,” his school wrote in a statement on Facebook, sharing a photograph of Geller below.

Geller started practicing the sport when he was just four years old, according to the New York Post. He went on to represent his country in a series of championships, including the U17 IWWF World Championship, the Jr. U.S. Masters Water Ski Tournament and the 2022 Pan American Championships. He climbed the ladder to become the sixth-ranked junior water skier in the world for the U21 jump.

“In his free time Micky enjoyed the company of close friends, motorcycling, snowmobiling, having deep conversations and debates and just chillin’,” his family wrote in his obituary. “With his full throttle approach to life, Micky experienced more in his 18 years than many ever will.”

From early days, there was a five-year span being floated. I suspect we can have some confidence in that number. Given a normal distribution, we are probably 35% of the way through that timespan, and have seen less than 15% of the total fatalities. The peak is probably late this year and early next.

High school football player fighting for his life after collapsing during basketball game

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A Paulding County High School football player is fighting for his life after he collapsed and had a seizure while he was playing basketball with his friends, according to his mother.

Avery Cox is a rising senior. A family member, Lisa O’Neal Youngblood, wrote on Facebook that after he collapsed on Monday, his heart stopped. He was life-flighted to Egleston, where he was put on a ventilator.

“His initial exam at Egleston indicated excessive swelling in his brain with little brain activity,” Youngblood wrote. “The doctors informed us that he had blood in his lungs and that he was in acidosis. They told us that he was very sick and that his body had suffered a major trauma.”

Acidosis occurs when body fluids contain too much acid. The condition can cause seizures, although it’s unclear if that’s what caused Cox’s seizure.

Cox’s family is asking the community for prayers. Paulding County High School held a prayer meeting for the teen Wednesday night.

“We are praying that his brain wakes up and we see brain activity,” Youngblood wrote. “We are praying that his lungs clear and that he is able to come off of the ventilator. We are praying that his heart is healed and beats and functions properly.”

Cox was a linebacker for the varsity football team in the 2022-2023 season, according to hudl.com.

The school district issued a statement to Channel 2 Action News, reading:

“The school has been in contact with the family and our hearts are with them during this difficult time.”

She most likely committed suicide. She had a history of mental health issues and neighbors had reported her several times for acting erratically. Several people reported here as ‘sudden’ or ‘unexplained’ (at least two on the first page alone) died from complications of overdoses. If you followed UFC, you knew pretty quick Stephan Bonner was an overdose, he had publicly struggled for quite awhile.

Anyone who says any of this is normal is fooling themselves.

The number of people I personally know (or second hand) who have been suddenly diagnosed with late stage cancer in the past year is mind-numbing. It's not clear what's causing this, but what speaks VOLUMES is the fact that the government and the mainstream media are ignoring it.

If this many people started dying of COVID, they would lock us down again and throw away the key.

Yep. A very good friend was just sent home on hospice... terminal lung cancer and less than 20% heart function from what they are calling a "silent, massive heart attack". I don't know how you can have a heart attack that severe without noticing, but he apparently did. Yes, he's vaxxed.

And yes, he smoked for 50 years... but he had prostate cancer about 4 years ago, which was declared "cured"... but he's still had yearly PET scans, etc, NONE of which showed any sort of lung lesions.

His only symptom was extreme fatigue. He's 69. Both his mom and dad lived into their 80s (despite being heavy smokers), so this is definitely "too young" in terms of genetics.

It sucks.

CINCINNATI —
The Hamilton County community is mourning the loss of a new deputy who died just nine months after joining the sheriff's department.
Thirty-six-year-old deputy Marcus Zeigler died on Friday after the sheriff's office says he suffered a medical emergency while participating in police academy activities.

"I was so proud of him," said Zeigler's aunt, Deloris Palmer.
Zeigler was a role model to many. He taught concealed carry classes and helped a lot of people as a Hamilton County Deputy. His aunt and uncle say it was his dream and lifelong passion.
"Family was the most important thing to him, and of course, Cassaundra, his wife, that was his sunshine," said Zeigler's uncle, Elsworth Palmer.
Zeigler was an employee of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office for nine months and is survived by his wife, Cassaundra and children Dominique, Aziah Miles, Marcus, Gionnie, and Dutchess.
His childhood friend, Scott Price, is trying to wrap his head around this sudden tragedy.

"He was extremely healthy. He lost a lot of weight, and then he made sure he watched what he ate. Just chicken and rice, for the most part. He would work out two times a day," Price said.
Zeigler served as a deputy for just nine months with the whole world ahead of him.
"He said 'Auntie, I did it and this is something I wanted to do and I made it and I'm going to go further,' and I told him you can do whatever you set your mind to," Deloris Palmer said.
Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey said a public visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, from 1-3 p.m. at the Spring Grove Funeral Home located at 4389 Spring Grove Ave.

One of my best friends is dying of lung cancer. She did not get the shots but she did get the virus very seriously, she was in (unknown at the time) contact with someone who just got the shot. She was perfectly heathy before that now she has a couple of months left, if she's fortunate.

She insists she got this from shedding. I saw her last week and she was still mobile, she told me that the way it's going she thinks she has about 2 weeks left. Oh, she was already in stage 4 when they found it and she decided not to get any treatment.

I'm sad.

She insists she got this from shedding. I saw her last week and she was still mobile, she told me that the way it's going she thinks she has about 2 weeks left. Oh, she was already in stage 4 when they found it and she decided not to get any treatment.

I'm sad.
I'm so sorry....Prayers of comfort for your Dear Friend :rs:

Where I am supposed to be.
I've lost 2 friends within the past 2 months. Both vaxed, both had no medical issues, living normal lives, loving their families. They just dropped dead. Their families are stunned and shocked. Ages 69 and 70. I'm sad. Had some good times with those gals.
Back in 1972, my brother let me borrow his El Camino for the night. I said I was staying at her house, she said she was staying at mine. Nothing was happening in the hometown, so one of us had the brilliant idea to go to Baltimore. We were gonna hit all the clubs (neither of us had ever been clubbing in Baltimore and remember they lowered the drinking age to 18). Almost sunset and we're cruising down a 2 lane street and folks on the sidewalk were waving and hollering at us. Hale, we thought they were just being friendly. Turns out we were headed the wrong way on that street!!! They were tryin to keep us from getting killed head on....Yeah, we didn't have gps, and couldn't find any clubs, we were in the wrong part of town...so we headed home, found a farmer's field to park in, drank a few beers and fell asleep. I'll miss that sassy Lassy.

The other gal I've known since wee lil kids....and shared a lifetime of memories.

I'm worried about the future of my friends and family....I really am.

I think it’s important that we keep putting names and faces to these deaths. Across a number of threads (thankfully now this thread has finally gained some traction) I’ve posted dozens and dozens of photos of young people who died “suddenly” and “at home.” These have all come from one online news source from Schuylkill County, PA, a mostly rural county.

Gotta keep putting names and faces to these deaths. Too many Americans are like the good church-going Germans of the 1940s. Many simply raise their voices in song to drown out the noise of the death trains rumbling by. “Oh, I don’t want to think about that!”

We are in the midst of a holocaust.

Names and faces, my friends. Let us continue to shine the light of truth upon this tragedy, this holocaust.

Obituary of Jane Ellen Roop

IN THE CARE OF

Demaine Funeral Home

Jane Roop, 71, wife, mother, and proud Mom-Mom passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Fairfax Hospital. She adored her family, and was adored by them. Jane is survived by her beloved husband Charlie of nearly 53 years and her loving children Heather Fulford and her husband Andrew, Michael Roop and his wife Raina, as well as her treasured grandsons Payton Fulford, Chase Fulford, and Mason Roop. She is also survived by brothers Alfred Derosier and John Derosier.
Jane was an 'Army-brat' who was born at Fort Knox, Kentucky and lived on several CONUS military posts as well as in Hawaii, but moved to the small town of Perryville, Maryland, her mother's home town, after her father retired. It was in Perryville by chance in 1968 in a fast food restaurant that she met Charlie, the love of her life -- and she was most definitely the love of Charlie's life. They married on Independence Day July 4, 1970, and enjoyed many travel adventures together via Charlie's initial military and follow-on Department of Defense civilian positions with stops in New Jersey, Maryland, Arizona, Southern California where daughter Heather was born, Washington state, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and finally settled in Northern Virginia where son Michael was born.
Jane loved to travel and she and Charlie continued to do so regularly after they settled in Virginia. Several of her favorite, regular stops were Las Vegas, Southern California, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
More than anything Jane loved her family. She was a devoted wife and best friend to her husband Charlie and absolutely loved being near both kids and all three grandsons. She especially loved celebrating birthdays and family holidays with them at her home.
It's impossible to measure how much Jane will be missed by her family and her many, many friends but her memories will forever be a blessing.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — An ESPN production employee who had worked for the company for 16 years died Saturday after suffering a medical emergency at an NCAA baseball tournament in North Carolina, the company said in a statement.

The man, 42-year-old Kyle Brown, died unexpectedly, ESPN said.

“Kyle was a deeply admired member of our production team — and highly accomplished, having captured two Sports Emmy Awards while working a multitude of sports from baseball and basketball to Monday Night Football and college football,” ESPN said in a statement.

"A former Ohio State pitcher, Kyle cherished the opportunity to have a career in sports," the statement continued.

The company extended its condolences and support to Brown family. He is survived by his wife, Megan, their four children — Makayla, 14, Carson, 11, Camden, 9 and Madyn, 6 — and their beloved dog "Rookie."

Tragic.

Athletic individuals seem to be afflicted more often than sedentary ones. It makes me wonder if the deadly effect gets accelerated in hearts that regularly perform intense exercise? If so, does that mean the sedentary hearts may also be affected but perhaps at a slower rate? Maybe we are not even close yet to the peak of these “died suddenlies?” :shkr:

The timeline of 3-5 years was given for a reason. Were in year 2, going into 3. And most Americans are sedentary.
