Lord be with this loved one. Give the team of caregivers wisdom and insight on how to deal with her injuries. Give the family peace knowing that this passed before your throne and allow your peace to overtake them. In Jesus name amen.

All your prayers are appreciated more than you know...I haven't heard anything yet as to how Deanna is doing. I'm going to let her folks contact us. I'm sure with the severity of the injury, it would be a burden having to deal with each and every person they contacted.

When I get new info I will be posting it.

Again... thanks a million Prayer Warriors!

Oh my goodness! Must have been a heck of a fall for someone only in their 30's to cause a spinal break! Praying that God will give wisdom / skill to the doctors, and prevent any permanent damage from occurring to her spinal cord, and to heal her quickly so she can return to her family who needs her!

The gals in this family run big. I'm no skinny pinny. They are quite a bit bigger than me. I fall quite a bit (figured average of one every six months). I put my arms out. Broke my arm one January, right next to the elbow. Went home and stayed there until April because the Doctor said if I injured it any more I would have to have surgery. He didn't even cast it.

Last fall I had in late October, messed up the arthritis in my hands so bad (what I fell on was my hands to break the fall), that I wound up with cortisone shots in both hands and it has helped some. Oddly, it was exactly a week after the actual fall that my hands acted up.

Ashley didn't relate the details of Deanna's fall, so I don't know how or what transpired.

How awful! Praying that she gets the very best care. Praying the doctors will do what is necessary to make the correct repairs for a quick recovery.

DH received this update from Deanna's Dad:

They put her in a brace and are going to see if she'll be able to heal on her own, she did move her legs a little yesterday. She slipped on the baby gate and fell on the step leading into her kitchen, she broke her T 14 vertebra and got a concussion.

NOTE: She's in a hospital that is approximately 1-1/2 hours away from her family and home. :(

She has a long road yet. Sure appreciate the prayers!

Thanks for the update. I hope the brace will be all she needs.

BTW, maybe she broke T4, because there are only 12 thoracic vertebrae.
