I foresee the day when following your particular route one would have to give up driving cars/trucks due to the state’s requirement for paying yearly fees (registration, proof of insurance , inspections) for the “right/privilege” to use the roads.

paying the “tithe” to Caesar So to speak.

combined with the requirement to pay property taxes in order to maintain one’s land “ownership”, it seems there is no where left to live free except walking (and KEEP walking) in the right-of-ways, or migrate out onto the coastal waters and forget having a motorized boat as that would require a license also. I am starting to think that the government “by the people, of the people, and for the people “ has gotten a little too demanding, almost over-bearing one might say.

The "State" is a belief system, a religion in other words. The belief that a select group has authority to rule by force. It is said that, "All political power comes from the barrel of a gun." Once one understands this concept, the way forward is much more clear. It involves applying your efforts to activities that don't involve using force on others through the proxy of the State.
I recommend reading Letters to Jessica ( Embassy of Heaven - Letters to Jessica ) or/and, The Most Dangerous Superstition, by Larken Rose ( The Most Dangerous Superstition ).

Did you know there is a tax law for that? It covers not just goods but services as well. And with the way they are killing small businesses, and have the bigger ones in a stranglehold it is very hard to pay someone under the table. As it is if you pay anyone more than $599 thru the year and want to take account for it in bookkeeping, you must 1099 them, now a 1099-NEC rather than a 1099-misc. And it includes more categories than it did in the past. Lawyers, property management, etc. And individuals are supposed to be doing this, not just businesses.

But in reality, how many individuals keep those kinds of records to report it? You worked with any contractors or had service people in for repairs lately? <$600 is getting rarer and rarer. How in the world would it be enforced from the IRS? It's not like the business is required to report on each and every transaction, and who it was for.

Hell, I probably spent over $600/year (a couple years) on my hairdresser/salon.

Talk about big data.

Trust me, I get it. But everyone is expected to know the law and follow it. There are some exemptions ... like if it is a partnership or s-corp or an LLC that is set up/run like an s-corp. So if your hairdresser/salon is more than an individual or a basic LLC you won't have to 1099-NEC them. But if you hire a lawn guy, even if it someone under the age of 18, and he files his taxes as an individual you are now required to get a W-9 from him and file a 1099-NEC with the amount you paid him (assuming more than $600) and file it with the IRS. And you can get caught if he isn't filing correctly, or even if he is and there is not documentation on file proving his filing status/amount.

There are some other exemptions as well so do your research. But life isn't getting any less complicated and that's a fact.
