And for a day or so, leave coffee alone. Instead suck on a tea bag. Just put it in the palm of your hand, soak it in warm water and pat it with your finger until the water starts turning 'tea colored'. Then put it between the cheek and gum on the side where the pain is. Within a minute or 2, the pain should be gone. Btw, tea has caffeine in it, too.

Cappy, my dentist recommended exactly that with the tea bags.....

Griz, thanks for that info! I’ve been looking into the different types of implants as well. If I could do the all-on-4 or similar for $12,000, I’d jump on it. From what I’m reading it can cost up to $60,000!

And I can verify that it works, too. Back when I had teeth, I was always having toothaches...mostly at night when I was trying to go to sleep. First time I tried it, I had the most peaceful, restful, night long sleep I'd had in (seemed like) years.

Last Christmas, I was given a large can of popcorn, divided into three different 'flavors'. I couldn't resist...but the hulls, small, super thin and very sharp, had my gums hurting like crazy. 1 large, soaked tea bag had me sleeping like a baby in short order.

Oh and I believe the one that gave me the idea also told me that the tea fights the infection that causes the toothaches. If true then it should fight a few other infectious mouth 'bugs'...and I do believe it's true.
