i saw it last night. i wasnt shocked as many folks were, as i am a big reader and have had some practice in eye opening since clinton. my grown kids came with me, my youngest daughter (23) insisted we all go as she had seen it before. there were people crying during it and at the end. also, at the end the whole room applauded and some even stood up and clapped. i have to say i was pretty amazed at the response for this little town.
yes, i know MM pushes buttons, and its not so much a documentory as, well....maybe and 'expose'? what i got out of it was that bush just doesnt have the mental capability to hold the position of President of the US---and this film is not the only reason for me coming to my conclusion.
i think he is biding his time playing a game while others behind him pull the switches and levers. he is doing what he is told to do.
just watching his facial expression when he is in the classroom after being told about the plane crashes on 9/11...clearly he did not know what to do. actually i was kinda surprised that one of the handelers didnt come in and whisk him away because of a national emergency, ya know? thats what i didnt get---they just all stood there.
the money ties look pretty firm to me, so to me, this shows that jr bush is just playing a role he was cast into but is a guy who would really rather be back on the farm playing rancher.
id like to see bush defeated, but doesnt it come down to having the devil you know versus the devil you dont? i sure dont trust kerry anymore than bush.
i think the movie was a good one and will make some folks start to think and maybe then they will ask questions and talk to others and they will ask questions and tell others...cause after all---is this movie only about bush or the whole damn corrupt system?

Well, most of the things he's brought up have been out there piecemeal for a long time. MM takes these bits and pieces them together showing FOI documents and news clips that many of us have been well aware of. That's why it's considered a documentary--because it has the documents and news archive clips to back up what he's saying. Because so many people don't follow what's really going on behind the scenes, a movie like this really opens some peoples eyes.
BugoutBear, you mentioned UNOCAL, and the Afganistan pipeline. Yep, I remember back when they were still trying to negotiate with the Taliban over that. We all know what happened when that fell through. He only touched on that briefly.
I will make one comment on the technique MM uses to present his information. Most of the shots of Bush, and those around him, are shown blurry or low resolution. That is specifically done to show something in "bad light." You'll notice the same technique used by both the republicans and Democrats in their campaign ads. Just look how Kerry looks in a Bush ad and you'll see what I mean. Archive footage is clean. Also, bringing in the personal aspect--especially the mother losing her son--adds to the emotional impact.
It's these things that make this movie a powerful statement that will remain on the minds of many who see it. The emotion is bound to the statement, and that is what makes this something that should concern the Bush clan.

Well, I figured out how to burn a working copy of Fahrenheit 9/11. Turns out I did not have to convert it to an .iso file at all. Also, my copy of Nero Express simply could not burn a good copy of this from a .bin/.cue or .iso.
For those interested....
You will need a high-speed internet connection (even fast dialup will not cut it), a CD burner and over 2Gb of free hard disk space. You will also need a couple software pacakges, all of which you can download for free:

I downloaded the '27-06 : Fahrenheit 911 CAM-POT' file. The BitTornado dialog box will pop up when you click on the title you wish to download. WRITE DOWN PRECISELY WHICH FILE YOU DOWNLOADED. Click on the 'Open' button, not 'Save' (trust me on this). You will be prompted for the path to your download folder, and once you select that, the download will begin.
If the download stops for any reasons, just go back and click on the same filename at the download site, and the download will resume again from where you left off. You do not have to start over from scratch. It took me nearly seven hours to download the movie through a DSL connection.
What you will get in your downloaded files folder is a folder containing two subfolders (mine were labeled 'CD1' & 'CD2') and a couple info files you can ignore. The two subfolders contain a series of WinRar .zip files.
Now you need to create a directory where your movie is to be saved, with two subdirectories for the image files of the two CDs you are going to create. Open your download folder, open the downloaded folder, then open the 'CD1' folder. Ignore the files with numbers in the file extension, and find the one ending in .rar . Right-click on that one, and select 'Extract Files. WinRar will ask you for the path to where you want the files extracted. Point it to one of the two subdirectories you created to store the movie in. The file extraction will take quite a while, so be patient. When you are done, repeat the process with the second downloaded subfolder, 'CD2'. Now that you have done this, you should have a .bin and a .cue file in each of the subfolders you created.

Well, I just watched it. I had wondered why even many liberals said it was propaganda, and now I know. I have never seen such a blatant, obvious, manipulative collection of lies, distortions, attempts at guilt by association, and most of all, editing totally unrelated video clips together to foster a total false impression. Michael Moore is a first-class liar. He makes Clinton look meek and timid by comparison.
The most amazing part of the movie to me is not that uninformed people would buy this; it is that *informed* people who know better would buy this. You practically have to stare into the screen and scream "LIE TO ME !!! LIE TO ME !!! I LOVE IT !!!" to convince yourself that this tripe could have any validity to it. I used to think that only Arabs, Africans and the French were capable of this level of self-delusion, but sadly I can now see that many Americans (and TB2k members) are equally out of touch with reality.
Seeing the movie forces me to retract one thing I said. I previously stated that Moore is a brilliant propagandist. I was dead wrong. He is transparent, juvenile, and crude at his craft. Herr Gobbels would dismiss him as a rank amateur.
BTW, anyone who want to see the movie, but cannot figure out my download instructions or lacks the necessary equipment or connection to download & burn a CD set of the movie can PM me for help.

i know what you are saying buffdawg,
and i know that the islamic fundementalist groups want to kill off anyone who refuses their brand of religion, but hasnt our government been guilty of trying to manipulte them, use them for years, playing one off another, interfering in their different governments, bombing , attacking countires, doing take overs and such, supporting corrupt regimes---havent we been guilty of messing with them and stirring up their hatred for us?
i want to look back and learn why we are so hated---is it only because they are jealous, are they pissant judgmental...they hate us only because we are infidels, why not have the same level of hatred for all other non-islamic countries.
there is just more to the picture i reckon---surely our version of foreign policy thru the decades have some responsibilty.
i just ordered a book called Sleeping with the Devil about our governments involvement with saudia arabia/oil/money and why the hatred towards the US has been brewing and coming to a head.

No matter how you cut it, it is just one director's point of view. Some say he did not go to far, some say that it was all one sided, some say that it was propoganda. I would say that it would be refreshing if we saw fifty films like this a year with all sorts of opionions and then you could just see it far that sake, a different point of view.

I downloaded this movie, via bit torrent, from suprnova.org, it wasn't a bin/cue file. Just 2 files i clicked on and watched for free.
It was boring, I expected something more juicy or something i already didn't know. Infact, halfway i was tempted to just shut it off because it was wasting my time. If someone hasn't seen it and would like to see it then DL it for free because its a waste of money and time. Most people here at TB2K coulda done a better job with some of the stuff ive read.
Also MM is a fraud and his last 2 movies(F911 & The columbine one) prove this.

Fox is also not as 'integrity-challenged' as CNN, since it does not make deals with evil dictators to suppress bad coverage about them in exchange for access and security for thier people, as CNN did. The major media lives, works and broadcasts only from ultraliberal enclaves like Hollywood, New York and Atlanta. The fact is that Fox is far closer to the mainstream views in America that looney liberals like Jeff Greenfield. The major media lives, works and broadcasts only from ultraliberal enclaves like Hollywood, New York and Atlanta. They think thier little world is the 'real world', and the rest of America is 'flyover' hicksville, full of ignorant bumpkins that could not possible grasp thier educated wisdom. But then, that kind of condescending arrogance is typical for leftist psuedointellectuals.

Fox News does not spin any worse than other major media outlets... in the USSR during the height of the Cold War.
Fox is also not as 'integrity-challenged' as CNN, since it does not make deals with evil dictators to suppress bad coverage about them in exchange for access and security for thier people... unless you count the Bush Administration.

Well not only did I see the movie, I paid for the tickets for all my fellow employees and their friends to go see it this weekend. Everyone was shaken by it. Many said they cried. Many reporting that they are taking their parents and others to see it next weekend.
