I'm hoping that the evangelical, Pentecostal, Catholic, and other black Christian voters will see through this and not vote race over faith. My understanding is that that was why Obama didn't make this statement before now. Maybe he figures if he locks down the gay and pro-gay vote he doesn't need the vote of every last black person---or (she said cynically) he knows he's unbeatable via fraud so it doesn't matter anymore.

Of course he's a fag. Homos constantly recruit kids in schools and kill each other with nasty diseases. Homoseuxals commit an inordinate number of sex crimes against children for their numbers, and on and on. Plus they want to donate blood - big push for that. They aren't benign.

I truly hope that gay people are more intelligent than to believe this assclown supports their 'right' to marriage and that they will consider the SUM of all he has done to this nation instead of voting for him on this ONE washed out issue.
I generally tend to try and say to each his own because I don't have to face judgement for YOUR sin...just MINE....
But if gay people vote for this demon-in-chief JUST BECAUSE he suddenly supports them getting married, then I have nothing more to say to them nor for them. That's just how I feel. No apologies.

In fact, I consider you no better than the black who votes for him just because he's black or the white who votes for him just because he's black and they feel bad about it.

As I said: pandering Pandering is the act of expressing one's views in accordance with the likes of a group to which one is attempting to appeal. The term is most notably associated with politics. In pandering, the views one is verbally expressing are merely for the purpose of drawing support up to and including votes and do not necessarily reflect one's personal values.
Pandering is essentially a reaction of panic in elected officials who must either tailor their views to public opinion or risk losing their existing or potential seat

Their whole argument is that they want benefits like married couples. I think that is fine. They can have CIVIL UNIONS for that. MARRIAGE is a religious ritual and scripturally is between a man and a woman. The last time a people tried to tell God it was OK, he destroyed two whole cities.

My friends all countered me with "what kind of Christian are you if you dont allow them to have marriage", My response is "A good one, one who knows what the Word says and stands by it, even if it isn't popular"

I once heard a preacher say (back in the 1980's) that a society's acceptance of immorality (ANY deviant or sinful sexual relations---out-of-marriage sex, adulterous sex, incestuous sex, bestial sex, etc.), and particularly of the type of immorality expressed as homosexual sex --- was the LAST step up (or down) the ladder before which a society reaches lowest ebb and falls.

We are there.

I have absolutely no problem with civil unions. It is not up to me (or anyone else) to judge the state of someone else's heart. Civil unions provide protection under the law for many unconventional relationships (and there are MANY that don't necessarily include a homosexual relationship). Having said that, 'marriage' is, by definition, between a man and a woman.

---the timing of the announcement on the heels of yesterday's primaries, and the final door-slam against the old traditional Democratic base: blue-collar white workers, rank-and-file union members, etc.. To hell with them, the Dems have new friends now.

---the total narcissism evident in O's explanation, the constant use of "I", right down to O referring to military members "fighting on my behalf" (not the country's, but his).
