Is it your belief that we're upon the cusp of war? Seems like we're balancing upon the edge of a razor's edge, with the wind beginning to pick up... I am certainly not sanguine about this... Too many spinning plates, juggling balls, and demented, malignant dwarves running around. In this case, just one, is more than enough...

IMHO we are as close as we've been to conflict with a peer/near peer power than we've been since the 1980s or arguably since the mid 1990s when Clinton almost got into a shooting war with North Korea but made one of many "deals" (both with North Korea and the PRC) to prevent one.

This time around the Pyongyang PTB aren't as stable as they were under the prior leadership, the current Kim has shot or fired most if not all of the old hands who'd be urging caution. Kim has thus put himself into a corner with very few options and as I see it, fewer still that include the survival of his regime over the long haul, never mind Kim finding himself in front of his own firing squad.
