I've used vet med more than once without a problem.
I secure my suture kit materials from my local army surplus. I prefer stainless steel to those plastic disposable suture kits that are clumsy to use and impossible to autoclave to sterilize. The date for maintaining the sterile state of those kits is short (probably due to the porous paper cover on them) and if they needed to be autoclaved again due to expiration date or contamination from liquids or moisture wicking in, you'd be SOL with those little plastic kits.
I get my H2O2, gloves, ace wraps, gauze etc, from Chinamart (Walmart). Can't beat their prices, that's for sure. Shipping is prohibitive on liquids (heavy!). And peroxide is cheap. Just today I paid 88 cents each for the big bottles at Chinamart. They are nearly that cheap at the chain drugstores like Walgreens and Rite Aid.
I make most of my own salves and ointments, but the few commercial products I keep on hand, I purchase online at Amazon.
