INSANITY My Trip to O'reilly Auto Parts

Stopped at the neighborhood O'reillys today. As soon as walked it the door the little twat behind the counter called me out because I didn't have a mask. I yelled out (yes, yelled) "I have serious pulmonary problems. This makes me exempt from Gov. RINO's decree." She gave me a 'deer in the headlights' look and I went ahead and got what I needed. Just to be a further asshole I went to her for checkout.

I am so sick of this BS!

City council here is voting tonight on whether or not to make mask-wearing "mandatory." It is expected to pass despite push back from the citizens. They have stated (not officially) that they will not actually be enforcing the rule for individuals. However, the documentation I read stated that if a business allows someone in without a mask, the BUSINESS will be fined, not the individual. We are an HVAC/plumbing business and our guys sometimes need the opportunity to come into the air conditioning and be able to breathe freely doing so. As a result, we will be closing our office and not be allowing customers into this portion of the building. If a customer wants to pay a bill in person, we will be meeting them in the shop area since the bay doors are always open, hence making it the same as outside.

If you aren't going to fine the INDIVIDUAL, don't turn around and try to fine the BUSINESS. If you don't care enough to enforce YOUR OWN RULES, don't expect us to do it for you.

I wear a mask because of my health....and also to avoid confrontations that would directly effect my blood pressure....its high enough already....

Elza you can be sick of this all you want, but its only going to get worse, are you prepared for that?

Good luck making that logical point in the midst of an emotional debate. It goes in the same file cabinet as raising taxes on corporations so they "pay their fair share", while never having to remind people that corporations don't pay taxes, their customers pay them when they do business with those companies.

That seems the same cowardly approach as gutless politicians both enrich themselves and don't have to face the music about raising taxes when they institute a lottery.

BUT IT'S ALL FOR THE CHIRRUNS!

Bull$hit. If it was for the chirruns, they wouldn't be starting school in the fall.

And you're right. Logic doesn't work in an emotional debate, unfortunately.

I live in Illannoy. We have mask rules all over. I make a point to not have mine. SO far, not too many direct confrontations.
Excuses on tap:
1) A convicted murderer, I can't legally wear a mask.
2) I have a concealed carry permit, I can't legally wear a mask. The DW has used that one.

Usually leaves them speechless.

On TB every waking moment
Took DW to the eyedoc this AM, she was getting drops and wanted me to drive her home. Sweet little 20something at the lobby door looked approvingly at my Karen mask (blue earloop procedure mask worn over a beard, I doubt it was the First National flag patch on my cap that caused it), took my no-touch temp and asked me to wash my hands in the lobby bathroom.

I will do anything I can for a sweet mountain girl (already married to one, and this one might have brothers or a mean daddy) so I did as she asked and smiled under my mask all the way up to my eyes.

I gotta live here too ... the desk folks were not going to let me in the waiting room but DW said she needed me to translate what the doc said, so they grudgingly let me sit and wait till I was called.

I'm the one that can't breath in a damned mask. It's my O2 level that drops to a dangerous level. Just what, pray tell, do you suggest?
Common, they make masks so thin you would have to double fold them to wipe your butt with, they are meant to keep big particles out of your nose and mouth Mimimal if any filtering.

So - my solution has been to drape it over my shoulder. Still wearing a mask right? Just not on my face. There are a couple of places where yes, I will put one on (mostly the grocery store), but otherwise I get dirty looks, but I'm still wearing one, just not where they want it. And I can't breathe through the blasted thing and it fogs up my glasses.

Getting grouchier by the day as is my avatar.

I thought about using that but wondered if they would decide wearing a mask trumps my constitutional right and would say I’d have to leave if I can’t wear one and I’d have to come back with a mask on and without a gun.

Can you sew? I’ve thought about making a mask from a lingerie laundry bag. The holes are ridiculously large, probably the diameter of a pencil eraser.

My daughter in Denver bought some lace on amazon and wears it. She said no one bats an eye. It’s all about the illusion of compliance.

I've spent a lot of time in the hospital since last january (9 days total with a $300K bill, got great insurance) I've npticed that nearly all the Doctors and Nurses don't wear their masks "Properly". They let them slip a little so they can breath.

I don't really see any reason to yell at low paid clerks that are trying to just make it through the day and get by.

To me that is a true asshole.
Assume much? I never said I yelled at her. She was half way across the store from me. I was barely inside the door. I wanted to make sure the rest of the store heard me. I would think that my reference to "Gov RINO" would explain my motive. Apparently it went over some people's heads.

I wish I knew! I been avoiding things I need to do like dentist, doctor, glasses and especially the hospital. Just can't breathe in a mask. Other than that I stay in the truck and direct my DH on what to do or stay home altogether. I don't however try and tell anyone else what to do. The businesses in my area are mostly enforcing the mask order. Watched them make a guy leave the PO and put one on the other day and everyone I saw at the market and bank was wearing some kind of face covering.
And this dispute over masks is getting serious as a security guard just killed somebody in a mask dispute. There are more and more cases of these fights so we need to be on at least orange alert when out and about.

I'm kinda liking the lace idea. According to the ordinance that will most likely be signed tonite, it should fit the definition:

"Face Covering" means a covering that fully covers a person's nose and mouth. The term "Face Covering" includes, but is not limited to, cloth face masks, towels, scarves, and bandanas as recommended by the CDC or OSDH, an N95, KN95, or other mask that would be appropriate for a health care setting, or a surgical mask. The Face Covering should fit snuggly on a person's face but allow the person to breathe easily and worn consistent with the guidance provided by the CDC or OSDH.

That concealed carry excuse would be a good one, but here in Colorado you can wear a mask when carrying. Around here, in the stores it's about 50/50 people wearing masks.

My daughters boyfriend carries in Colorado and he was the one that told me about not being able to wear a mask while carrying. Can you point me to something I can send him?

Is it true about the concealed carry? In KY?

Show me. Before you laugh a lung out show me where I said that I yelled at her. I said "I yelled out".

I even put it in bold for you
