Because so many haven't a clue as to what America is/was, these "so many" look upon this election, this man, the color of his skin, as being their final solution to generations of being considered less than citizens of this country.
The mindset, for generations, has taught them that they should be looked after, taken care of, given what they need and want in life instead of rising above the stereotype and making their own life without the hand outs, generally speaking here.
So now they have "one of their own", if you will, in the most powerful position in the country and because of that mindset, they're letting everyone know that they're ready to collect on all those promises of the generations before them and the promises of "their man".
They don't care that the Constitution and Bill of Rights has been shredded to the point of almost not being recognizable. They dont' care that those were written for THEM also, not just white Americans. They don't care that more babies will be slaughtered or the right to own guns will be taken from them. They don't care about those who did work and save to have something for their families, they just know they don't have what you have and they want it by hook or by crook.
It's the mindset. They have no logical reason for doing and saying what they're doing and saying. They just know that "their man" is in the white house and now it's payback time. And they actually think he's going to deliver to them what they want. And when he doesn't, guess who they'll take it out on? Will they march to the white house and demand to be given what was promised? NO. They'll march down the streets of America and take it. Might not have been the 27 inch television that they wanted, but they settle for the 19 inch.
Will "their man" be able to persuade them that this type of action is not helping? NO. They'll see it as "you said you'd do this and that and you didn't, so we're going to take things into our own hands. We're tired of waiting on you to give us what is owed to us". And it just gets worse from there on out.
They dont' see themselves as being America. They don't see themselves as being part of the solution rather than part of the problem. They've been told that all their lives and believed it. So "their man" is going to make things better...for them. But in making things better for them, they don't realize that "their man" is really making things worse. It's the material things they want. True Americans want peace, freedom, true justice, and have been and are willing to fight for those attributes. But not "his people". New cars, stereos, tv's, big houses, fancy clothes, a check put into their bank accounts every Friday whether they earned it or not.
This sounds like it's a black against white issue. Some of it is. Some of it isn't. It's all in the mindset. If you are white and voted for "him" or black and voted for "him", when the promises are not kept, do you think that when the rioting and looting start that you'll be able to stand in your door and tell them: "But I voted for "him", I helped you get "your man" in the white house!" And they'll say thank you and walk away and NOT loot your home or burn it to the ground? It will be the color of your skin that they will be looking at and what you have that they don't have that will be the deciding factor.
Was this a black against white election? You'd be surprised how many think that it was. It wasn't who was the best man for the job, not that the other choice was all sparkly either. It was based on who could promise the most to those that feel they've had less than their fair share during their lives and those before them and those before them, etc., etc.. Generations voted in this election so there was generations of pent up anger and frustration and it just got turned loose. It's not the past they're wanting so much to have corrected, it's the present. Right now. And they want it "right now".
This is where it's all going to fall apart. But they don't realize and don't care because they rejected the knowledge, they will not reap any of the rewards of being IN America AS an American. Very sad for so many to live only in the moment and have no real understanding of who they are and what they could have accomplished.
It's all in the mindset.
