I had a nose that decided to swell up on me in August. I went to the doctor and she sent me straight to the hospital. The culture came back positive for a MRSA based cellulitis infection. Man did the hurt! I was in the hospital for 4 days, though I felt silly for being there just for a swollen nose. I am grateful that I was released (2 days) before I had to go back to school to prepare for the new year.
My doctor referred me to an ENT to follow up. He is referring me to an allergist as well as an Infectious Disease Specialist at the University of Iowa Hospitals. He wants to make sure that the infection doesn't come back.
So, does anyone know of any vitamin therapy that is effective for treating/preventing reinfection of MRSA? I know that super doses of Vitamin C will help, but are there other vitamins anyone would suggest, and at what doses?
Thanks for the suggestions!
