Chevron CEO Warns White House Additional SPR Release Plan "Not A Wise Move"

Chevron CEO Warns White House Additional SPR Release Plan "Not A Wise Move"

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 12:50 PM

Chevron CEO Mike Wirth spoke at the Economic Club of New York on Thursday to warn about the Biden administration's cunning plan to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve around the $70 a barrel level. He said filling the SPR at that level is "not necessarily a wise move."

Wirth explained the SPR should be refilled regularly to maintain adequate reserves at reasonable levels while limiting volatility in price. He said Biden's communication to the oil industry about a minimum price floor at which the US government will purchase crude provides no "meaningful" incentive for oil companies to ramp up production.

The chief executive continued to say if companies operated this way, their trading desks could easily hedge the price of crude in markets themselves, adding the SPR is currently "at a level where we wouldn't want to see it go any lower."

1669944437239.png

Wirth was on a roll criticizing the Biden administration. He said their energy policies were very "lazy" and "sloppy" because of the inability to tap into the nation's abundant resources. He means that the Biden administration has inhibited the fossil fuels industry from expanding, indicating a considerable need to improve energy infrastructure such as pipelines, transmission lines, and ports to ensure all parts of the country are well supplied at all times.

"Durable and meaningful permitting reform" would be a "huge step forward," he said.

Wirth's comments followed a CNBC report Wednesday that cited multiple sources who said the Biden administration is mulling over more SPR releases ahead of winter.

The White House appears to be bracing for another potential energy spike in the coming months. Their ability to release additional oil from the reserves could face more pressure from a Republican-led House of Representatives at the start of the new year.

"It is imperative that DOE maintain the nation's petroleum reserves in a manner that does not limit our ability to prevent or reduce the adverse impacts of true energy supply shortages," Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., and Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich. recently said.

Wirth's comments provide valuable insight into how the fossil fuel industry views the Biden administration: an inexperienced bunch of clowns ruining the country's energy independence.

Railroaders Say Morale, Quality-Of-Life At All-Time Low

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 10:35 AM
Authored by Clarissa Hawes via FreightWaves.com,

Nearly 115,000 railroaders were closely following two votes Wednesday in the U.S. House of Representatives after President Joe Biden called on Congress to immediately pass legislation to avert a rail strike.

The House voted 290-137 Wednesday to avert a possible rail strike amid debate over the national tentative agreement brokered by the White House between union employees and Class I railroads in September. Nearly 40% of the nation’s freight is moved by rail.

Railroad workers for the 12 freight unions have been operating without a new contract for over three years.

However, strict attendance policies and the lack of paid sick days have been sticking points for the majority of rail workers, including the nearly 60,000 members of four freight rail unions that voted to reject the national contract in mid-November.

“It’s been a long three years, depending on how you look at it,” Jeremy Ferguson, president of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers (SMART-TD), told FreightWaves.
“The workforce is cut back to the bone, and those that are left are having to pick up the slack.”

On Wednesday, SMART-TD issued a statement that it “does not support the notion of Congress intervening in our collective bargaining negotiations to prevent a strike.”

“We firmly believe in the workers’ right to fight for their own best interests, as well as the best interests of their families,” according to the SMART-TD statement.
“Unfortunately, threats to the economy have caused this Congress to believe that a strike aversion is the best course for this nation.

Separately Wednesday, the House passed legislation by a vote of 221-207 to add seven days of paid sick leave to the tentative rail agreement. Both pieces of legislation aimed to stop a rail strike now head to the Senate.

None of the railroaders FreightWaves spoke to for this article want to go on strike but said they wanted the rail carriers and shippers “to put employees over record profits” and address some of the major challenges, including precision scheduled railroading (PSR), the attendance policy and lack of paid sick leave, that have resulted in a mass exodus among railroad employees.

Railroaders say morale, quality of life at all-time low
One locomotive engineer says morale is at an all-time low at the Class I railroad where he’s worked for more than 25 years. He’s seen engineers with 15 or 20 years “tie up for the last time” and quit.

He’s among nearly 24,000 locomotive engineers and trainmen who make up the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET). BLET was among eight freight unions that voted in mid-November to accept the national tentative agreement reached between the unions and railroads in September.

BLET, the second-largest rail union, voted 53.5% in favor of ratifying the national agreement, while 46.5% of its membership voted against it.

While the engineer, who didn’t want to be named in the article for fear of retaliation, wouldn’t say how he voted earlier this month, he understands why four of the 12 freight unions, including SMART-TD, the largest union, rejected the agreement.

“I know some of the younger engineers voted for the agreement so they can receive their back pay because they plan to quit because they don’t have the seniority that I do,” he said.
“I don’t blame them — they want jobs where they are home more, can attend their kids’ events, and some are trying to save their marriages after being on call 24/7 for the past few years.”

He said there used to be several road engineers at any given time who were marked up as available to work once his shift ended. That’s not the case now, he said, as some have quit, were fired or took other jobs.

“Now, sometimes I get off the train after being gone on the road for a few days, drive an hour to my house, sleep for 10 hours, then I’m being woken up by a call from a crew dispatcher to report for work in two hours,” the engineer said.
“It’s not much of a life for road engineers and conductors anymore.”

He and his conductor both contracted COVID in 2020 at a time when all of the Class I railroads had slashed their workforces because of precision scheduled railroading (PSR) running longer trains with fewer employees. Around the same time, the rail carriers had made major cuts to middle management and ground employees, forcing him and others “to do more with less.”

Unable to work for three days because of COVID, he received a call from his dispatcher threatening disciplinary action if he did not return to work.

His railroad does offer short-term disability that pays him 65% of his hourly rate after seven days of unpaid leave, but he couldn’t afford to stay home. The engineer said he also faced immense pressure from his bosses to return before he was well. Prior to the COVID-19 vaccine being available, he said engineers and conductors continued to pass the potentially deadly virus back and forth and to other employees amid demand to keep up with the freight volume.

“I had friends that I worked with for 20 years who died of COVID, but we couldn’t even go to their funerals without facing scrutiny by management,” the engineer said. “We had no choice but to work.”

Ferguson said his membership wants changes to the railroad carriers’ emphasis on PSR and building massive trains.

“One of the biggest issues that we’ve had in the past year with precision scheduled railroading was trying to cut the workforce and then the attendance policies being ratcheted up to a level that we’ve never seen before. … Before, some people were allowed five to six days off a month [but] now are down to one day a month and no family time,” Ferguson said.

A Class I railroad conductor with more than 25 years of experience said he’s never worked at a job that spends so much money to train employees, only to spend double that amount to find something to fire them for once they are considered trained and marked up to work.

“There’s this rush to get everybody trained but management isn’t focused on teaching or ‘on-the-job training’ once they mark up at our railroad,” the conductor told FreightWaves.
“In the early days when I was starting out, I had a mentor who had been with the railroad a long time that would pull me aside and explain to me what I did wrong. There’s a learning curve to working on the railroad. Sure, I would get ribbed by the old-timers for a while, but they helped me.”

The biggest lesson he learned was to buy job insurance from companies that specialize in the rail industry.

“I explain it to new hires that it’s like ballerinas who have insurance on their legs and/or feet because that’s how they make a living,” the conductor said.
“Buying job insurance is a product of the way they treat people on the railroad; we have to do this.”

A locomotive engineer for another railroad agreed.

“The railroad wants to fire you at every turn — that’s why almost every single one of us carries job insurance,” the engineer said.
“I don’t know that there’s too many other industries on the planet that carries insurance to protect our jobs.”

A member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division (BMWED), who also declined to have his name published for fear of being targeted, said he was among 56% of the rank and file who rejected the tentative national agreement in October.

The BMWED has nearly 26,000 workers who build and maintain the tracks and bridges on railroads across the nation.

He voted against the contract over the Class I railroads’ refusal to provide paid sick leave for railroad workers. He said he was told by railroad management that his union contract provided him with ample weeks of vacation time to go to the doctor if needed. The maintenance-of-way employee said that even though he ranks relatively high in seniority and is among the first to pick his weeks of vacation for the next year, there’s no way he could predict when he needs to go to the doctor or use a day to stay home with a sick child.

“My wife is my hero,” the employee said.
“She has a demanding job, too, but she never uses her sick days for herself; it’s always for the kids because I can’t do it without repercussions. It’s been a huge strain on our marriage.”

He said most railroaders hope to avert a strike, which could result in economic losses of $2 billion per day. He said he and approximately 115,000 railroaders would be without paychecks right before Christmas.

“I’ve been called selfish and greedy because no paid sick time by the railroads is a deal-breaker for me, but the office employees at these railroads automatically get 80 hours of sick time,” the worker told FreightWaves.

“We worked through a pandemic and didn’t have the option of working from home or shelter in place like the office personnel,” he said.

“The railroad told us how proud they were and thanked us for being essential workers. When you offer some employees paid sick time and tell them to stay safe, but then management tells us to get back on the road because there are not enough workers, it sends a message that we aren’t important and we are only essential to their bottom lines.”

Elon Musk "Confident" Brain Chip Company Neuralink Can Begin Human Trials In Six Months

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 09:44 AM

At a live-streamed event on Wednesday evening, Elon Musk announced that Neuralink Corp's coin-sized brain chip could be implanted in human heads for clinical trials within the next six months.

"We want to be extremely careful and certain that it will work well before putting a device into a human, but we've submitted, I think, most of our paperwork to the FDA, and probably in about six months, we should be able to upload Neuralink in a human," Musk said during the event at the company's headquarters in Fremont, California.

1669945354426.png

Neuralink's brain-computer interface (BCI) is a small chip implanted in a human's head to allow a person suffering from a debilitating condition, such as the aftereffects of a stroke or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), to communicate with their thoughts.

Previously, Musk had promised human trials would begin in 2020, then 2022, and now the target appears sometime in the first half of 2023. He also revealed two other BCIs that could one day be attached to the spinal cord and restore movement in someone with paralysis.

"As miraculous as that may sound, we are confident that it is possible to restore full-body functionality to someone who has a severed spinal cord," the billionaire co-founder said.

One of the presentation's highlights was a video of a monkey "telepathically typing" on a screen with a BCI implant.

"To be clear, he's not actually using a keyboard ... He's moving the cursor with his mind to the highlighted key. Now technically, he can't actually spell. So I don't wanna oversell this thing, because that's the next version."

View: https://twitter.com/i/status/1598139730591301633

BCI technology has been studied in academia for decades. Last year, European research announced a person who has ALS had regained his ability to communicate after a brain chip was installed in his head. And Brown University recently said, "using a brain-computer interface, a clinical trial participant was able to create text on a computer at a rate of 90 characters per minute just by thinking about the movements involved in writing by hand."

Musk's entry into the space in 2016 has spurred increased investments via venture capitalists into startups pushing this cyborg technology forward.

Three-Judge Panel Rejects Biden Bid To Restore Student Debt Relief

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 08:55 AM

The 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals has denied a Biden administration request to temporarily reverse a lower-court order that blocked the rollout of Biden's student loan forgiveness plan.

The plan would forgive up to $20,000 in federal student loans for eligible borrowers who make under $125,000 per year, or $250,000 for households.

In a brief order, a three-judge panel of the New Orleans-based appeals court rejected the request - meaning the plan will remain on hold while the administration appeals a decision from a Texas judge which deemed the scheme (which undoubtedly garnered a few midterm votes for Democrats) illegal.

The next stop for the Biden administration will be to seek a reversal of the 5th Circuit's decision through the US Supreme Court, according to a court filing from the administration in a separate legal challenge, Bloomberg reports.

Court orders across multiple lawsuits have blocked the distribution of any debt relief under the plan since late October. The government has ceased collecting applications for relief while the legal battles over the proposal proceed.
Wednesday’s order comes in a case brought by the Job Creators Network Foundation, a conservative advocacy group, on behalf of two Texas borrowers who claim that their education debt was unfairly excluded from the program. -Bloomberg

Meanwhile, another lawsuit led by six GOP states is asking the US Supreme Court to keep the plan on hold while their legal challenge works its way through the system. The state officials say Biden exceeded his executive authority by failing to obtain congressional approval, adding that it will negatively impact local loan servicers.

Roughly 26 million people requested debt relief before the Department of Education stopped accepting applications.

"Gloomiest In A Decade" - US Manufacturing Surveys Tumble Into Contraction

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 07:06 AM

Following ADP's report of job losses in the goods-producing sector of the economy, it is perhaps no surprise that US Manufacturing surveys suggest that part of the economy is contracting.
  • S&P Global US Manufacturing PMI 47.7 (Contraction) in November (final), down from 50.4 in October - the weakest level since June 2020
  • US ISM Manufacturing tumbled to 49.0 (Contraction) in November, down from 50.2 in October - weakest since May 2020.

Source: Bloomberg

Under the hood, all the major ISM sub-indices contracted with prices tumbling to 43.0 and jobs and new orders falling...

Source: Bloomberg

Chris Williamson, Chief Business Economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence, said:

A combination of the rising cost of living, higher interest rates and growing recession fears have led to slumping demand for goods in both the home-market and abroad. Companies are consequently cutting production at a rate not seen since the global financial crisis, if the initial pandemic lockdowns are excluded. However, even with the latest production cuts, the downturn in demand has still led to one of the largest increases in unsold stock recorded since survey data were first available 15 years ago, which suggests that companies will continue to reduce production in the coming months to bring these inventories down to more manageable levels.
“Likewise, companies are slashing their purchases of inputs and raw materials at a rate not seen outside of the pandemic since the global financial crisis.
“This slump in demand is increasingly manifesting itself in a shift from a sellers’- to a buyers’-market for a wide variety of goods, as evidenced by improving supply chains, meaning price pressures are now abating rapidly.
“While supply chain worries persist, notably in relation to China’s lockdowns, companies’ concerns are increasingly moving away from the supply side to focusing on the darkening outlook for demand, meaning the business mood remains among the gloomiest seen over the past decade.”

Manufacturing Production is set to tumble...

That should bring down inflation, right Jay?

Continuing Jobless Claims Hit 10-Month Highs As Layoffs Exploded In November

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 06:10 AM

While initial jobless claims dipped last week (from 241k to 225k), Challenger Job Cuts exploded higher, jumping 416.5% YoY (up 127% in November)...

Source: Bloomberg

This is the biggest jump since the COVID lockdown crisis:

"The Tech sector has announced the most job cuts this year by far.
While other industries are cutting jobs at a slower pace, hiring appears to have slowed as well," said Andrew Challenger, Senior Vice President of Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc.

This year’s tech cuts are 535% higher than the 12,761 cuts announced through the same period in 2021. Job cuts announced in the East 6,762; Midwest 7,883; West 58,497; South 3,693

More symptomatic of a weakening consumer, holiday hiring plans are down notably this year...

Source: Bloomberg

Finally, Continuing Jobless Claims rose to 1.608mm, their highest since Feb 2022...

Source: Bloomberg

The decline in initial jobless claims was mainly due to distortions from seasonal factors, which had signaled a decrease of 37k from the previous week. Instead, seasonally unadjusted claims declined by 51k, pushing seasonally adjusted figures down by 16k.

It appears Powell's tightening policy is starting to have an effect on the labor market.

Fed's Favorite Inflation Signal Dips (Holds Near 40 Year Highs) As Savings Rate Crashed

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 05:42 AM

Among The Fed's favorite inflation indicators - it has apparently got many and picks and chooses as it pleases - is the Core PCE Deflator. Both the headline and core deflators dropped from September's levels (+6.0% vs +6.3% prior and +5.0% vs +5.2% prior respectively)...

Source: Bloomberg

Of course, while this will be greeted with euphoria - 'peak inflation' - we do note that it is still the highest levels since 1983...

Source: Bloomberg

Americans' income and spending were both expected to rise once again in October and they did with incomes rising 0.8% MoM (double expectations) - the biggest jump since Oct 2021. Spending also accelerated, rising 0.8% MoM (as expected)...

Source: Bloomberg

Adjusted for inflation, real personal spending rose 0.5% MoM - the biggest jump since Jan 2022...

Source: Bloomberg

But on a YoY basis, real personal spending rose 1.78% - the weakest rise since Feb 2021...

Source: Bloomberg

Finally, against all that, Americans' savings rate plunged to just 2.3% of disposable income - the lowest since July 2005...

Source: Bloomberg

Reflecting on Powell's comments, this de minimus drop in PCE Deflator does nothing to alter the path of Fed rates and the fact that the savings rate is nearing record lows suggests the consumer is on the brink of capitulation.

Banking Elites Are Using Crypto Bloodbath And FTX Fraud To Justify CBDCs

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 03:55 AM

Central bankers and international corporate financiers have long been pretending to hate the very concept of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Etherium while at the same time investing heavily in blockchain technologies and infrastructure. The purpose of the ruse is not clear, but more than likely it was an attempt at mass reverse psychology - “We don't like crypto and digital currencies because we supposedly have no control over them; free market proponents should embrace them blindly because that is how you will beat us.”

In the meantime, while major banking firms are investing billions into various blockchain products, central banks and global institutions like the BIS and IMF have been developing their own systems. In fact, the BIS notes with enthusiasm that around 90% of central banks around the world are already in the process of adopting CBDCs.

But why would anyone want to use government and establishment bank controlled cryptocurrencies when they have access to Bitcoin and dozens of other coins that are supposedly independent? Why trade freedom for more centralization?

First, existing cryptocurrencies are not as free as many people believe, with ample government tracking of blockchain transactions in place for years, the notion of the completely anonymous crypto user is a bit of a fantasy, and the idea that a product such as Bitcoin is going to “bring down” the central banks is becoming less realistic by the year.

Second, the crypto market is highly unstable in part because it is still very limited. While crypto use in America is higher than most other countries with around 12% of people using it as an investment (not as a currency), the rest of the world is mostly uninterested with an estimated global footprint of around 4%. Of that 4% only a handful of people actually own the majority of the market; these people are known as “whales” and they have the ability to tip the market up or down with little effort.

This happens in many other trade commodities and paper currencies also. The point is, crypto is not immune to manipulation.

Third, crypto is enticing to people because of the quick profits that can be had, but massive losses are also a danger. The overall crypto market has plunged by $2 trillion in the past year alone – Over 60% of its value. The implosion of huge trading companies like FTX also undermines the stability of the market and usually it's the average investor that ends up suffering the consequences.

All of these factors and more can be used by banking elites as a rationale for the implementation of CBDCs and global regulation of crypto trading. And, if the bloodbath in existing coins continues, people may even welcome CBDCs as a “safe” investment or currency system.

The investment losses in blockchain products along with the scandals in exchanges is a rather convenient opportunity for the banking establishment to promote their own currencies as a replacement. In the wake of the FTX event, multiple international banks including JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs have called for government regulation and a shift over to CBDCs.

The US House has scheduled hearings on FTX with an emphasis on regulation. In Europe, globalist Christine Lagarde and the ECB are calling for global cooperation on monitoring and controlling cryptocurrencies. Lagarde wants a “digital Euro” to take the place of existing coins and blames FTX and the larger market losses on lack of oversight.

Numerous crypto analysts are also demanding regulation, calling crypto “broken and useless” until governments step in to mediate (control) trade. This is the exact opposite of what crypto activists originally intended over a decade ago when Bitcoin was in its infancy, and digital trade back then was sold as some kind of revolution against the banking oligarchy. However, it's easy to see where this is all going.

It means even more pervasive centralization. With paper currencies at least there is true anonymity, but with CBDCs the existence of the blockchain ledger precludes any and all privacy in trade. Not only that, but the institutional ability to cut off people from their wealth and economic access is going to be profound. If you think corporate and government led cancel culture is bad now, just wait until they can freeze your digital accounts at a moment's notice because of something you said on social media. And, in a cashless society there are few alternatives beyond some kind of black market.

CBDCs mean the total death of any economic freedom the public has left, and central banks are exploiting disasters like FTX to make that death happen even faster.

The Evil Of The Political Left Is Rooted In Their Exploitation Of Tragedies

WEDNESDAY, NOV 30, 2022 - 08:45 PM
Authored by Brandon Smith via Alt-Market.us

What is the root of all evil? Money? No, not really. Money is just a tool, like a hammer, a wrench or even a gun. When I think of evil I don't envision a handgun or a rifle or a big pile of hundred dollar bills. Instead, I see nightly news talking heads spreading disinformation and fear. I see mobs of over-emotional and ignorant activists setting fire to buildings, tearing things down because they don't know how to build anything useful and new. And above it all, I see a small group of elites hovering, licking their chops as they fantasize about the potential power that can be gained from exploiting the chaos.

The willingness to destroy and cause suffering for personal benefit is evil. The willingness to feed off the tragedies of others is evil. And these are the cold characteristics that currently define the political left.

There have been multiple criminal events and national emergencies over the past few years that leftists have been very quick to hijack or scapegoat onto conservatives, often with embarrassing results for themselves. The most recent being the Colorado “Club Q” shooting in which 5 people died and at least 19 were injured. Here was the mainstream media's reaction to the event, with little to no facts on hand to back their claims:

Leftists use a very predictable strategy when it comes to these kinds of high profile criminal acts – Immediately blame all conservatives and conservative principles for the crimes of one man. Even if the event had nothing to do with conservatives, let the public think it did. If a gun is involved, blame the legality of guns in general as if the weapon is the problem rather than the mental illness or psychopathy of the perpetrator.

As it turns out, the Club Q shooter suspect, Anderson Aldrich, is actually a member of the LGBT community and identifies as non-binary with They/Them pronouns. Watch this CNN anchor's response as she is forced to admit on air that the suspect does not fit CNN's original narrative:

She is clearly upset and bewildered at the revelation, and the guests even start making excuses, suggesting that perhaps the suspect is lying about his gender identity (which is rather ironic). But why did they react this way? Aren't they supposed to be objective journalists merely reporting the facts as they become available? Yes, I realize the very idea is ridiculous, but it shouldn't be. The mainstream is a hostile force seeking to demonize around half the population of America and we have grown used to it.

With this latest information on the Club Q shooting the story has all but disappeared from the news feeds as if it never happened. Just like the Waukesha Massacre perpetrated by a BLM supporter, or the the alleged attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi, and dozens of other recent crimes in which the facts do not serve the establishment narrative.

What can we learn about leftists from the Club Q scenario in particular?

First, they are robotic in their responses rather than empathetic. They never pause to consider the complexities of the situation or wait to find out the truth. They jump to the conclusions they WISH were true, rather than seeking to learn more. Much like children.

Second, though the vast majority of crime in the US is committed within Democrat controlled cities and states, the left only wants to highlight a certain type of crime – mass shootings by straight white males. These events serve their political interests while the others do not. You will not hear Democrats mention the high murder rate or black-on-black crime in anti-gun cities like Chicago, for instance. They don't care, because there's no benefits or power to be squeezed from that ongoing tragedy.

Third, leftists are not interested in justice, they are interested in control. Justice is about punishing the people that actually committed the crime; but for them punishment of a suspect is secondary to the control that might be derived from the fear and panic the crime caused. Leftists will use any and every crisis or tragedy to demonize their political opponents.

It's very difficult for the media to attach conservatives and the concept of hate crimes to a shooting enacted by a member of the gay community. Just as it was very difficult for them to attach white conservatives to hate crimes against Asians last year when most of the attacks were committed in heavily leftist cities by mostly black assailants.

Fourth, leftists will happily stand on the bodies of victims to undermine rational conservative positions. In the aftermath of Club Q, there was a mass campaign to attack the conservative stance against the grooming of children in public schools and “all ages” drag shows. Leftists have decided for some reason that the sexualization of children is a hill they are willing to die on, and they will stop at nothing to justify drag dances and gender identity propaganda targeting kids.

We can speculate on why Democrats are so obsessed with getting kids in front of dancing drag queens flashing their crotches, or forcing kids to use made-up identity pronouns while questioning their biology, but the simplest explanation is that they want to groom impressionable children into the leftist fold so that they can be controlled for the rest of their lives.

It's not the LGBT part that we have a big problem with, it's the propaganda and targeting of children we have a problem with. Even if the Club Q shooter turned out to be a hardcore conservative instead of a trans person, that still wouldn't change the underlying situation. Two things can be true at the same time – Mass murder is wrong, and targeting children with political ideology and gender cultism is also wrong.

Fifth, leftists often claim they have no interest in taking away American gun rights while at the same time demanding our guns be taken. It seems schizophrenic if you don't understand the concept of gaslighting, but narcissistic people often learn that saying one thing and doing the opposite is an excellent way to confuse their victims.

As mentioned, they don't care about most crime in the US; they even try to deny rising crime statistics. However, they LOVE a mass shooting, especially the tiny percentage that involve military-style rifles, because they think it will give them the political capital needed to get a majority of people to support further gun restrictions or outright gun confiscation.

It is a fact: Leftists want to end gun rights in the US regardless of the constitution. And, they are willing to punish ALL gun owners for the crimes of a handful of people. Again, this is not about justice, this is about control. Why do they want to take away gun rights if they don't actually care about the deaths of the people involved in crime? We can only conclude that a well armed population is a considerable obstacle to their agenda.

The media will now have to play a game of spin as the Colorado shooting case unfolds. They are already claiming that the suspect is not actually trans, as if the suspect is faking as a means to avoid hate crime charges. If this is true, it would be a meaningless gesture as hate crime charges make no difference in the overall prosecution of multiple murders. Also, generally speaking, people who commit hate crimes would be loathe to identify as the thing they are supposed to hate.

The fact remains that you cannot separate the political left from the tragedy-whoring and crisis opportunism they employ. Without constant calamity leftists serve no purpose and have no platform. They need disaster to remain relevant, and they need panic as a tool for centralizing power. They need the populace to be constantly afraid, mostly of threats that do not exist and suspicions that are misplaced.

They will attempt to gaslight and claim that conservatives are somehow the same – But we are not. We are not afraid of what we think they might do, we stand in opposition to what they are ALREADY doing. We aren't concerned about phantom enemies and imagined crises, we are concerned about the very real antagonists on our doorstep.

This is one of the many differences between leftists and conservatives: We're not going to attack fellow Americans for things they have not done nor suspect people without evidence, we are only interested in stopping the trespasses that are happening right in front of our eyes. We aren't going to be victimized while our attackers pretend to be victims and we aren't going to pretend we don't see agendas that are obvious. Most of all, to the best of our ability we rely on the truth to make our case while leftists rely on deceit and spin.

The fact is, there is a divide now between leftists and conservatives that can never be mended. We are so different in our goals and our principles it is as if we are two different species, and for now only one side has acted consistently to destroy the other.

IMF Chief Says US Must Keep Raising Interest Rates Because "They Owe It" To The World

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 03:30 AM
Authored by Katabella Roberts via The Epoch Times,

The head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, has cautioned against the Federal Reserve slowing down with its interest rate hikes as it attempts to tame soaring inflation.

Speaking in an interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday, the IMF Managing Director was asked for her thoughts on pausing interest amid concerns that a strengthening U.S. dollar is weakening other currencies around the world, particularly those in poorer nations, and contributing to a cost of living crisis in those countries.

Georgieva said that the Central Bank “has no option but to stay the course” until the cost of living significantly declines.

“They owe it to the U.S. economy, they owe it to the world economy, because what happens in the United States if inflation does not get under control can have also spillover impacts for the rest of the world,” Georgieva said.

The dollar is up 18 percent this year and hit a new fresh two-decade high in September after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by another 75 basis points.

Verge of Crisis

In October, the U.N. Development Programme (UNDP) warned that developing economies are on the verge of a significant crisis due to the financial and monetary policies of developed nations like the United States.

“Rich countries have the resources to end the debt crisis, which has deteriorated rapidly in part as a consequence of their own domestic policies,” UNDP said.
“These policies have sent interest rates in developing economies skyrocketing and investors fleeing,” UNDP said.

“Market conditions are shifting rapidly as a synchronized fiscal and monetary contraction and low growth are fuelling volatility around the globe: 19 developing economies are now paying more than 10 percentage points over US Treasury bonds to borrow money on capital markets, effectively shutting them out of the market. Holders of many developing economy bonds are seeing them trade at deep discounts of between 40 to 60 cents on the dollar,” the UNDP said.

“The international community should not wait until interest rates drop or a global recession kicks in to take action: The time to avert a prolonged development crisis is now.”

Also in October, the United Nations, in its Trade and Development (UNCTAD) report, warned of a looming global recession driven by the monetary and fiscal policies of advanced economies, including that of the Federal Reserve.
UNCTAD warned that developing countries would edge closer to debt default unless central banks in advanced economies revert their course of action.

Despite concerns regarding the impact of domestic monetary policy on developing nations, the U.S. central bank has dismissed the possibility of easing its tight monetary policy, as inflation came in at 7.7 percent in October, way ahead of the Fed’s 2 percent goal.

Jim Bullard, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, in an interview with MarketWatch on Nov. 28., said he believes the FOMC [Federal Open Market Committee] will likely need to be more aggressive with their rate hikes going forward, raising them to at least 5 percent in an effort to cool down red-hot inflation.

The committee is scheduled to meet again on Dec. 13–14 for its final meeting of 2022.

Georgieva on Tuesday noted that inflation remains high in the United States and Europe, adding that “the data at this point says: too early to step back.”

Senate Approves Legislation To Avoid Rail Strike

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 05:31 PM
By Zachary Stieber of the Epoch Times

The U.S. Senate on Dec. 1 approved legislation aimed at heading off a nationwide rail strike, a day after the House passed the measure.

Senators voted 80–15 to pass the bill, which would impose a tentative agreement on rail workers and prohibit a potentially costly strike. Congress is allowed to take such action under the Railway Labor Act; it last took action to prevent a shutdown in 1994.

President Joe Biden has said he will sign the bill.

A dozen unions representing more than 100,000 workers hammered out the agreement in the fall, but four of the unions later voted against ratifying it.

Workers had been preparing to strike on Dec. 9 absent the legislation or a new deal being reached.

Operators have warned that lost economic output resulting from a shutdown could reach or even eclipse $2 billion a day, while business groups have said a strike would disrupt the transport of crucial items, including food and chemicals.

“A rail shutdown would’ve killed our supply chain, hurt workers and small businesses, and sent consumer prices through the roof. Passing legislation to avoid one was the right move to protect American jobs and keep our economy moving,” Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) said after the vote.

The Senate is split 50–50. To pass the filibuster, a measure needs at least 60 votes. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) was among the Republicans pledging to vote against the bill, which would impose a tentative agreement on rail workers.

The House of Representatives on Nov. 30 passed the bill in a 290–137 bipartisan vote, and separately approved seven days of paid sick leave, which wasn’t part of the original agreement.

The agreement includes a 24 percent pay increase over five years and five $1,000 payments.

Reaction
The Association of American Railroads, which includes major operators, hailed the Senate vote.

“The Senate acted with leadership and urgency with today’s vote to avert an economically devastating rail work stoppage,” Ian Jefferies, the group’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

“As we close out this long, challenging process, none of the parties achieved everything they advocated for. The product of these agreements is a compromise by nature, but the result is one of substantial gains for rail employees. More broadly, all rail stakeholders and the economy writ large now have certainty about the path forward,” he added.

The industry thanked the Biden administration for pressuring Congress to act, even as many unions had urged Congress not to intervene.

Some spoke out against the Dec. 1 vote.

“What took place in the United States Senate today is a symptom, and further illustration, of a larger issue in our country. Almost every elected member of Congress campaigns on being ‘for the working class’; the actions of many today demonstrated they are for the corporate class,” the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen said in a statement.

“The dereliction of duty and inability to hold corporations accountable for a lack of good faith to their employees will not be forgotten. Those who spoke against us provided no basis and resorted to their only skill set: passing blame and avoiding the issues.”

Amendments
Before taking up the bill itself, the Senate voted on amendments.

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) offered an amendment that would have implemented a 60-day “cooling-off period” during which a strike couldn’t be initiated.

“My amendment would certainly avoid a strike. We all agree on that,” Sullivan said on the floor. “It will give negotiators more time to get to an agreement, and it will not make Congress the entity of last resort in these kinds of negotiations where the knowledge of the issues that are very complicated have not been thoroughly studied and have not received the due diligence that I believe every American, every union member wants us to have.”

The proposal was defeated 26–69.

Another amendment, offered by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), would have added seven days of paid sick leave to the agreement, as the House did. It was rejected in a 52–43 vote—it needed 60—despite support from some Republicans, including Sens. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) voted against the amendment.

“I am proud that the House of Representatives passed legislation to guarantee seven days of paid sick leave for all rail workers. While I’m disappointed that we were unable to get the 60 votes we needed in the Senate, we did receive the votes of every Senate Democrat, but one, as well as six Republicans,” Sanders said in a statement after the vote.

He said that he would do everything he could “to make sure that rail workers in America are treated with dignity and respect.

Lebanon Pushed Into Deeper Crisis As Parliament Again Fails To Elect President

THURSDAY, DEC 01, 2022 - 05:35 PM
Via The Cradle,

The Lebanese parliament on Thursday failed for the eighth consecutive time to elect a new president, as a majority of lawmakers continue to oppose the options laid on the table.

During the first round of voting on Thursday, 111 votes were cast in the 128-seat parliament, with 52 lawmakers casting blank votes, while 37 voted in support of Michel Moawad, the son of the late president René Moawad.

The 37 votes cast for Moawad are a drop from last week’s session, when 42 lawmakers voted for the candidate who is backed by the anti-Hezbollah bloc made up of the Lebanese Forces (LF) party, the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP), the Kataeb party, and a few ‘independent’ lawmakers.

Some lawmakers even wrote in mock choices on their ballots, with one vote cast for Brazil’s socialist president-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Following the voting session, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri announced that a ninth attempt to elect a president will take place next week.

The Lebanese presidency, which has been reserved for the country’s Christian Maronite sect since the National Pact of 1943, has remained empty since the end of Michel Aoun’s term in September after six years in power.

Hezbollah’s ‘Loyalty to the Resistance’ party, along with its allies in the Amal Movement and the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) all oppose Moawad’s candidacy. Hezbollah’s lawmakers, specifically, have maintained that their preferred candidate for the presidency is the leader of the Marada Movement, Suleiman Frangieh.

The pro-resistance bloc has also been calling for dialogue to elect a “consensual president” among all political sides. However, US and Saudi-backed parties like the LF have opposed this. Christian political leader Samir Geagea said earlier this week that “dialogue with [Hezbollah and its allies] is a waste of time.”

In response to this divisive stance, PSP leader Walid Jumblat called Geagea’s remarks “absurd” and said that “talking to all parties is necessary to elect a new president.”

According to Article 49 of the Lebanese constitution, a presidential candidate is elected either by winning a two-thirds majority of parliament on the first ballot – 86 members, the same number required for a legal quorum – or by a simple majority of 65 votes in subsequent rounds.

So far, no candidate has been able to secure the support of enough lawmakers, in either the first or subsequent rounds of voting. Former president Aoun’s own election in 2016 came after a more than two-year vacancy at the presidential palace, as lawmakers made 45 failed attempts before reaching a consensus on his candidacy.

Further muddying the waters, the US, France, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia have all expressed their desire to see the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) commander, Joseph Aoun, be named as Lebanon’s new president. Since 2019, the Levantine nation has been shouldering what the World Bank describes as the world’s worst economic crisis in the past 150 years, caused by rampant corruption in the financial sector.

1669948128506.png

A prolonged power vacuum would only exacerbate the situation, as Beirut is currently unable to enact sweeping reforms demanded by international lenders as a condition for releasing billions of dollars in loans.

At a forum organized on 4 November at the Wilson Center, US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf, warned that the current situation in Lebanon could lead to a “complete disintegration of the state and the collapse of its security forces.”

Leaf added that, as the crisis becomes more unbearable, she expects Lebanese lawmakers to pack their bags and leave for Europe, abandoning the country as “unsalvageable.” “We are putting pressure on political leaders to do their job, but nothing is as effective as popular pressure. Sooner or later, people will rise again,” Leaf pointed out.

She added that collapse will enable Lebanon “somehow to be rebuilt from the ashes, freed from the curse of Hezbollah.” The US official concluded that the US and Saudi Arabia share the same vision for Lebanon, and are cooperating to achieve it.

FABIO FRUSTACI/EPA
Italy is to use more cash and fewer credit cards, bucking a global trend towards electronic currency, after Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister, dismissed card payments as “private money”.

Meloni, who was elected in September, is finalising her first budget, which is due to include a rule allowing shopkeepers and businesses to refuse cards and demand cash for payments up to €60. The rule would raise the current limit of €30 and includes permission to sell and buy goods worth up to €5,000 in cash, up from €1,000.

Meloni has an unusual justification for supporting banknotes over plastic. She told parliament: “The only legal currency in Italy and Europe is the paper notes issued by the European Central Bank. Electronic money is not legal currency

SHARM EL-SHEIK, EGYPT--It is time for the world to stop using fossil fuels because Pakistan has flooding and the global climate is changing, and billionaires should hand over their money to pay for the damage, said War on Want's Asad Rehman, who was helping to coordinate the "climate justice" protesters at the UN COP27 climate summit. In this interview with The New American magazine's Alex Newman, Rehman compared rich countries' economic development to burning down other people's houses. Fossil fuel lobbyists are responsible for stopping "progress" on climate, he added. Asked about coming blackouts across the West due to "green" policies this winter, Rehman suggested retrofitting homes and making more solar panels would fix the problem.

Janet Yellen Says the Real Reason Inflation is Out of Control is Because Americans Are ‘Splurging’ on Goods (VIDEO)

By Cristina Laila
Published December 1, 2022 at 6:45pm

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Wednesday evening blamed Americans for record-high inflation.

It isn’t Joe Biden’s fault for spending trillions of dollars in the last year-and-a-half.

It isn’t the Democrats’ fault for passing trillions in spending through the reconciliation (no GOP votes needed).

The real reason for inflation is because Americans ‘splurging’ on goods.

“They were in their homes for a year or more, they wanted to buy grills and office furniture, they were working from home, they suddenly started splurging on goods, buying technology,” Yellen said on Stephen Colbert’s late night show.

The Treasure Secretary said the bottlenecks created supply chain issues.

Yellen also blamed Russia for soaring gas prices and high food prices.

Switzerland, Facing an Unprecedented Power Shortage, Contemplates a Partial Ban on the Use of Electric Vehicles

It turns out that you can have battery-powered cars, or you can have renewable energy, but you can't have both.
eugyppius

The Swiss Confederation usually imports electricity from France and Germany to keep the lights on over the winter, but this year neither country has any power to spare. Many French nuclear power plants are down after years of postponed maintenance, while in Germany we suffer from a superfluity of idle wind turbines and a (self-imposed) shortage of natural gas.

The Federal Council of Switzerland has therefore published draft legislation, which outlines four tiers of escalating measures to conserve electricity and avert potential blackouts. The first prescribes a lot of temperature restrictions for things like refrigerators and washing machines. The second includes more unusual rules, such as the demand that heating in clubs and discotheques “be set to the lowest level or switched off completely,” and that “streaming services … limit resolution of their content to standard definition.” The third foresees cutting business hours, banning the use of Blue Ray players and gaming computers, and also limiting the use of electric cars, which should be driven only when absolutely necessary. A fourth and final tier mandates closure of ski facilities, casinos, cinemas, theatre and the opera.

A lot of these rules look unenforceable, but they said the same thing about contact restrictions during the pandemic. It turns out that the state really can prevent you from socialising with people in your own home if it wants to, especially when there’s no shortage of prying neighbours eager to snitch.

Feasibility isn’t the point, though. It’s the optics here that are most astounding. Electric vehicles, which politicians have heavily subsidised as one of their primary policy responses to climate change, are just now crashing against that other great arm of the green agenda, namely renewable energy. You can’t drive everyone into ever greater dependence upon the electrical grid, while also orchestrating an energy transition to wind (which hardly blows in Germany, except in the north) and solar (which generates no meaningful power in the depths of the Central European winter). Gas from Russia was the magic ingredient that kept the whole renewables charade going, and we’re out of that now. There’s no way to cover up the failure; not even the green-friendly German media has any excuse or messaging angle here.

So Much for Renewables: Leftist Germany Sees Green Push Wrecked by Russia’s War

PETER CADDLE1 Dec 202284

Donald Trump’s warning that Germany’s dependence on Russian gas left it vulnerable has been proven — yet again — as the country’s leftist government’s plans to go green have been utterly destroyed by the Ukraine war and its attendant gas shortages.

Any hopes of Germany lowering its carbon emission have quite literally gone up in smoke, recent reports are indicating, with the ongoing energy crisis brought about by Russia’s exit from the EU energy market forcing the country to obtain energy by burning traditional fuels.

While previously the darling of leftist activists in both Europe and the United States for its militant attitudes towards climate change, Germany’s green agenda has up until now been fueled by imports of Russian gas which are used to subsidise its green efforts.

However, with the supply of hydrocarbons collapsing as a result of worsened relations with Moscow, Germany has been forced to burn large amounts of coal in order to keep the lights on, massively increasing its carbon emissions.

Obviously not too pleased at this development, Germany’s ruling Green party government has attempted to offset its increased coal burning by bringing forward a ban on the fuel in one of the country’s largest states, North Rhine-Westphalia.

With the fuel having previously been set to be banned in the state by 2038, it has now been brought forward to 2030, with the German federal climate minister, Robert Habeck, saying that such a move will more than offset the increased burning of coal right now.

However, according to a study seen by Der Spiegel, the earlier ban is set to have very little effect on the environment, with the study noting that any carbon kept in the ground by the sooner ban will be overshadowed by short-term burning due to the fact that the projected need for the fuel is much lower from 2030 on than it is right now.

Overall, the research indicates that around 164 million tonnes of extra carbon is set to be put into the atmosphere as a result of Germany’s current use of coal even when the plan to bring forward the 2030 ban on the fuel is taken into account.

As a result, the scheme has reportedly been labelled as being nothing short of a “sham” by the organisation responsible for the study.

While Germany’s carbon targets had already been left under threat as a result of the closure of various nuclear power plants, the country’s overreliance on Russian energy has now completely collapsed its green agenda, with the country being forced to feed its energy addiction using coal.

With renewable energies completely failing to pick up the slack during a cold and dark November, this has left Germany as one of the worst carbon emitters in Europe, with Die Welt reporting the country as being only behind Poland in terms of EU polluters.

Ironically, the country’s own green agenda is partly to blame for its relapse to some of the worst carbon fuels, with politicians openly refusing to utilise domestic deposits of natural gas — which produces far less carbon when burnt — in favour of investing in green technologies that have done little to help the country over the last month.

While the nation has deposits of the fuel that would be able to fully supply it for at least the next two decades, the German government appears to be showing no sign of reversing course on their policies regarding domestic fossil fuel production, with both the Social Democratic Party and the Greens recently turning their noses up at the possibility of fracking being used in the country.

Germany Announces Plans to Again Hike Immigration to Bolster Aging Workforce

PETER CADDLE1 Dec 2022152
The German government has announced plans to boost the number of migrants arriving in the country in the hopes of bolstering its ageing workforce.

Germany’s Federal Minister of Labour, Hubertus Heil, announced on Wednesday that his government was aiming to let even more migrants into the country in the hopes of outnumbering its ageing population.

The EU member state has already seen record levels of immigration, with its total migrant population growing by 4.4 million people since 2014 on the back of the massive influx of foreigners from the likes of Syria and Afghanistan.

However, while leftist politicians in the country often praise the influx as being positive for the country’s economy, statistics published on Tuesday indicate that many of these migrants remain unemployed to this day.

According to a report by Die Welt, Heil does not seem to be dissuaded by this fact, arguing that even more migrants are needed in order to boost the currently floundering German economy.

“Our goal is the most modern immigration law in Europe, because we compete with many countries for clever minds and helping hands,” he said, arguing that getting “the right people” would ensure “prosperity” in the country.

1669959315192.png

Such increased immigration is to be achieved through a points-based system that will allow foreigners who already have a job reserved for them, have decent enough skills that they would be likely to get a job, or have other qualities that the German authorities deem attractive, to more easily gain access to the country.

Germany is no stranger to mass immigration, with the country reportedly seeing its migrant population spike by 4.4 million between the end of 2014 and June 2022, with the numbers likely to increase even further as a result of the country’s lax immigration rules and the Ukraine war.

While a lot of this growth is the result of the country’s Merkel-era migrant crisis, immigration has once again spiked in recent months, with the net influx of foreigners reaching an all-time high for Germany post-unification in the first six months of this year.

However, while various politicians and social justice activists have praised the massive surge in Germany’s foreign population as being a good thing, especially for the country’s economy, figures put out by the country’s statistics agency Destatis appear to throw doubts on such a claim.

For example, while advocates of immigration say that it will allow businesses in the country to fill job vacancies as the country’s native population gets older, figures indicate that wide swathes of migrants from outside of Europe remain unemployed in the country.

For example, the employment rate for Afghans in Germany sits at 45 per cent, compared with just under 95 per cent for the country’s overall population.
Things look even worse when it comes to Syrian nationals, with the population reported as only having an employment rate of 35 per cent.

While the new immigration plan does appear to prioritise allowing in migrants who have already locked in employment in Germany, those wishing to avail of the scheme will not actually be required to find a job before arriving, a factor which may only add to the number of unemployed migrants in the country.

Dear Establishment Republicans: If You Won’t Step Up To The Challenge Of Saving Our Nation, Step Down

BY: JORDAN BOYD
DECEMBER 01, 2022

Establishment Republicans who refuse to listen to voters’ wishes should make way for real conservatives who will get the important jobs done.

There’s no doubt that our nation, which a majority of voters say is headed in the wrong direction, needs salvaging.

Half of Americans are counting on Republican politicians to get serious about the myriad of crises facing our country and actually do something effective.

The problem? Congressional Republicans are, as of late, historically weak.

They never seem to tire of capitulating to the Democrat’s radical policy whims.

They refuse to hold tyrannical bureaucrats and politicized departments accountable for acting unjustly. And they refuse to leverage their power to stop bad-faith policies in their tracks.

Over and over and over again, the GOP establishment and its allies have burned Republican voters in favor of protecting their power.

Just this week, 12 Senate Republicans joined their Democrat colleagues in passing legislation that will sic LGBT activists on religious Americans. Those dozen GOPers didn’t just betray their colleagues, who warned them against eroding Americans’ First Amendment rights, by voting for the bill. They betrayed their constituents, who overwhelmingly rejected the idea that the government could persecute them based on their deeply held beliefs about marriage.

Support for the ill-named Respect for Marriage Act was not an isolated sin.
One day after they handed religious Americans over to the mob, those same Republicans began scrambling with other GOPers to pass Democrats’ omnibus spending package, which foots all sorts of inflationary spending through 2023.

Once again, the GOP establishment’s more rational colleagues warned their so-called allies, in a letter, against throwing taxpayer dollars at unpopular conquests such as the proxy war in Ukraine. Especially before the newly elected Republican House of Representatives could weigh in.

“On November 8, 2022, the American people made their voices heard at the ballot box. Using the Democratic process, millions of Americans sent a message — they want divided power in Washington to curb the worst excesses of both parties,” the lawmakers wrote. “The undersigned stand with the voters.”

So far, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, his loyal posse, and House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, however, have ignored pleas to wait for freshmen legislators to enter the Capitol’s chambers.

That wheeling and double-dealing doesn’t simply happen on a regular basis with Democrats on the House and Senate floors. It also happens with the corrupt corporate media.

The media have proven over and over and over again that they are public enemy number one. Yet, many Republicans still view them as an asset.

They give interviews, send statements, and even leak information to Swamp journos with the hopes that they will gain exposure. That always has and always will backfire because the media has clear left-wing agenda that they gladly weaponize against their political opponents.

If GOP legislators refuse to acknowledge that, they need to vacate office immediately.

Republican voters deserve representatives who rightfully refuse to engage with a pundit class that explicitly hates conservative voters. In an ideal world, red politicians would use the time they devoted to blabbing on leftist tv programs to skillfully expose the propaganda press’s hoaxing.

In the words of my colleague, Federalist Editor-In-Chief Mollie Hemingway, “the Republican voters are sick to death of Republican leadership, their fecklessness, their impotence, their weakness.”

Conservative voters deserve better than toothless letter-writing campaigns and politicians who will sell their souls (and a potential senate majority) for the chance to personally stay in power.

Here are the days when voters vote out weak establishment Republicans to replace them with strong conservatives who will get the job done efficiently and effectively.

The re-elected and newly elected House and Senate Republicans of this year must pioneer aggressive oversight, preemptively strike at the media, and fight tooth and nail for policies that protect, not harm, their voters.

If they fail to do that, they have not only doomed their constituents to another two to four years of rule by deadbeat cowards, but they have sabotaged the future of actionable conservatism in the U.S.

New Study Has Some Bad News for Wind Energy Advocates

Spencer Brown | November 30, 2022 2:00 PM

A new peer reviewed study from German scientists found that offshore wind farms — the sort of supposedly "green" alternative to existing energy sources with which President Biden and Democrats want to fill America's coastal waters — are not as safe for marine ecosystems as their proponents may argue.

The researchers looked at one area and ecosystem in particular — the North Sea — where the world's largest offshore wind farm (OWF) opened earlier in 2022. Relying on modeling and simulations in order to see what the "systematic, large-scale, time-integrated response of the ocean to large OWF clusters" would be, the study's authors found evidence that offshore wind power generation, supposedly great for the planet actually introduced factors that negatively impact sea life.

According to a summary of the study, researchers reported that their "results provide evidence that the ongoing off shore wind farm developments can have a substantial impact on the structuring of coastal marine ecosystems on basin scales."

Now, for the science, as explained by the study's authors:

The wind wake effect of offshore wind farms affects the hydrodynamical conditions in the ocean, which has been hypothesized to impact marine primary production. So far only little is known about the ecosystem response to wind wakes under the premisses of large off shore wind farm clusters. Here we show, via numerical modeling, that the associated wind wakes in the North Sea provoke large-scale changes in annual primary production with local changes of up to ±10% not only at the offshore wind farm clusters, but also distributed over a wider region. The model also projects an increase in sediment carbon in deeper areas of the southern North Sea due to reduced current velocities, and decreased dissolved oxygen inside an area with already low oxygen concentration. [...]

In addition to impacts on the regional atmosphere, multiple physical, biological, and chemical impacts on the marine system have been identified.

The under-water structures, such as foundations and piles may cause turbulent current wakes, which impact circulation, stratification, mixing, and sediment resuspension. Most studies conclude that the direct hydrodynamic consequences of the wind farm structures are mainly restricted to the area within the wind farms. However, some speculate also, that the cumulative impacts of an increasing number of offshore installations might result in substantial impacts on the larger scale stratification. Larger scale effects of offshore wind energy production, well beyond the wind farm areas, are introduced to the atmosphere by infrastructures above the sea level and the energy extraction itself. Atmospheric wakes appearing in the lee of wind farms extend on scales up to 65 km and beyond, depending on atmospheric stability, with a wind speed reduction of up to 43% inside the wakes leading to upwelling and downwelling dipoles in the ocean beneath.

Those impacts, according to simulations focused on North Sea projects run by the researchers, led them to their conclusion based on evidence showing "that the increasing amount of future OWF installations will substantially impact and restructure the marine ecosystem of the southern and central North Sea."

As examples, the study cited the "diversity of marine fauna" in the southern North Sea, including "economically relevant fish stocks" which could see offshore wind farms "impact the survival of fish early life stages in specific areas" due to "variations in the match-mismatch dynamics with their pray or as a consequence of low oxygen conditions." The study also notes that "estimated changes in organic sediment distribution and quantity could have an effect on the habitat quality for benthic species such as lesser sandeel and other benthic species that live in the sediments in the deeper areas of the southern North Sea."

While there's significantly more research yet to be done on the impact of offshore (and onshore) wind farms on the ecosystems where they're constructed, proponents of the alternative and supposedly "green" power generation method act as though there are no ill effects caused by wind farms.

What's more, President Biden and his anti-energy independence administration have made offshore wind farms a priority of their radical "green" agenda. Earlier this year, the White House announced its goal of creating 30 gigawatts of offshore wind generation capacity by 2030. The "clean energy" they claim is provided by offshore wind, however, according to the study quoted above, might actually not be so clean and could — if the same impacts noted in the North Sea apply to U.S. coastal waters — harm the ecosystems Biden claims his "green" energy will save.

The Three Traits of Tyranny

According to John Locke and the American Founders
Thursday, December 1, 2022
Dan Sanchez

History John Locke Founding Fathers Tyranny
The American founders who drafted and signed the Declaration of Independence grounded their case for separating from Great Britain on a philosophy of government derived from the writings of John Locke: especially from Lockean notions of legitimate government vs. illegitimate government, i.e. tyranny.

In his Two Treatises of Government, Locke wrote:

“Political power, then, I take to be a right of making laws with penalties of death, and consequently all less penalties, for the regulating and preserving of property, and of employing the force of the community, in the execution of such laws, and in the defence of the common-wealth from foreign injury; and all this only for the public good.”

Here, Locke defined “political power” as power within right, i.e., legitimate government.

For Locke, the opposite of legitimate government (“political power”) is “power beyond right,” which he called “tyranny.”

“…tyranny is the exercise of power beyond right, which no body can have a right to. And this is making use of the power any one has in his hands, not for the good of those who are under it, but for his own private separate advantage. When the governor, however intitled, makes not the law, but his will, the rule; and his commands and actions are not directed to the preservation of the properties of his people, but the satisfaction of his own ambition, revenge, covetousness, or any other irregular passion.”

In these two passages, we can see Locke’s criteria for distinguishing legitimate government from tyranny.

  1. Rule of Law vs. Rule of Man: Legitimate government involves “making laws” and “the execution of such laws.” Tyranny is “When the governor, however intitled, makes not the law, but his will, the rule…” In modern terminology, this is the distinction between “the rule of law” and “the rule of man.”
  2. Public Good vs. Private Advantage: Legitimate government is “only for the public good.” Tyranny is the use of power “not for the good of those who are under it, but for his own private separate advantage.”
  3. Rights Protection vs. Rights Non-Protection: And the whole purpose of government, according to Locke, is the protection of “rights”/“property,” by which he means rightful ownership of possessions as well as one’s own body. Thus, tyranny is when a ruler’s “commands and actions are not directed to the preservation of the properties of his people, but the satisfaction of his own ambition, revenge, covetousness, or any other irregular passion.”

According to the American Founders, in each of the above three regards, the British government was behaving tyrannically. Thus the Declaration of Independence and thus the Revolution.

BOOM: DeSantis Just Gave Woke Hedgefund Activists At BlackRock The ‘Disney’ Treatment

Written by Wes Walker on December 1, 2022

You know that reputation Florida is getting for being a Citadel of Freedom? It has something to do with a Governor committed to putting the interests of the Citizens ahead of the interests of the activists.

What’s that? A representative government that actually represents the people who elected you? It’s such a crazy idea that it just might catch on!

We’ve already seen Disney’s not-so-new replacement CEO admitting that going to war with DeSantis in opposition to laws that would prevent the sexualizing of kids young enough to still have most of their baby teeth.

Parents denounced groomers wanting to sexualize young children. Disney backed the groomers against the parents under the guise of a bogus ‘don’t say gay’ narrative. Disney lost.

But since radicals never take a day off in their quest to subvert a traditional way of life and ‘fundamentally transform’ it according to their revolutionary vision… the battle to subvert America continued full steam ahead. This is where BlackRock enters the story.

BlackRock is an enormous hedge fund that has figured out a sinister new way to leverage ‘other people’s money’.

When you have assets under management measured in trillions of dollars, you have a lot of influence. When those assets under management include the voting shares of corporations — you suddenly have the ability to use the voting power purchased with unwitting investor money to push an anti-capitalist agenda.

It’s bond-villain-ish in its elegant malevolence, really. Here’s a story we ran about BlackRock doing exactly that, back in March. BlackRock CEO Speaks Openly About Corporations ‘Forcing Behaviors’ Of Ordinary People
Various watchdogs pointed out BlackRock’s cozy relationship with China and its ‘woke’ activist push of what’s been dubbed ‘ESG (Environmental, social and governance) investing’

Clearly, DeSantis caught wind of BlackRock’s agenda and was having none of it.

Florida’s Chief Financial Officer said on Thursday his department would pull $2 billion worth of its assets managed by BlackRock Inc (BLK.N), the biggest such divestment by a state opposed to the asset manager’s environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) policies.

…Republicans are set to assume control of the U.S. House of Representatives in January. This will allow them to hold hearings on ESG and grill the chief executives of BlackRock and other major assets managers about their ESG policies, and also pressure regulators to scrutinize them.

In a statement, Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis said the state’s Treasury, which he oversees, would remove BlackRock as manager of about $600 million of short-term investments and have its custodian freeze $1.43 billion of long-term securities now with BlackRock, with an eye on reallocating the money to other money managers by the start of 2023.
— Reuters
If there was any doubt as to whether Florida was still a purple state or if it was now solidly Freedom-cheering, Flag-waving, Patriotic Red — wonder no longer.

That might explain the growing buzz about DeSantis as a bright spot as a future star of the Republican party — depending on who you ask — either in the coming Presidential cycle or the next one.

WEF Chair Klaus Schwab Spotted In Washington DC Hotel – Here’s Schwab’s Latest Plan To Make Your Life Miserable (Photo)

December 1, 2022 Bruce Hoenshell

Greg Price, who serves as the Senior Digital Strategist for X Strategies, LLC , has just reported Klaus Schwab is in Washington DC.

In a tweet, Price tweeted “A friend of mine was at the Waldorf Astoria in DC (formerly the Trump Hotel) and sent me this picture of Klaus Schwab sitting in the lobby.”

Before Price tweeted the photo of Schwab, senior editor of Human Events Jack Posobiec, took to Twitter and asked “Is Klaus Schwab visiting DC right now?”

Reminder: This guy wants you to own nothing, live in pods, and eat ze bugs.

They say, “You’ll be HAPPY!” Doesn’t he seem so happy in this picture? All that power and influence and wealth, he sits there with a perma-scowl.

Looks like such a happy human being. He wants us to be just as happy:

It just so happens another notable figure is heading to DC too, CEO of Apple Tim Cook.

Are they gonna talk about censoring Twitter?

While he’s in DC Schwab’s plan to make your life miserable has been exposed on George Gammon’s Rebel Capitalist channel.

Last week The Gateway Pundit reported Schwab, who sits as the chair of the WEF, received backlash after he praised China as a “role model” for other nations in an interview with CGTN’s Tian Wei.

Around the same time, Schwab made his remarks, mass protests started to erupt in China over the CCP’s extreme Covid isolation measures.

VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: If You Really Wanted To Destroy The US, Then…

OPINION OPED-hanson-GET
VICTOR DAVIS HANSON
CONTRIBUTOR
December 01, 2022

First, you would surrender our prior energy independence.

Reduce new gas and oil leases on federal lands to the lowest levels of any president in history. Cut back production at precisely the time the world is emerging from a two-year lockdown with pent-up consumer demand.

Make war on coal and nuclear power. Drain the strategic petroleum reserve to make the pain for consumers more bearable for midterm election advantage.

Cancel the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge oil and gas field. Block pipelines like the Keystone oil pipeline and the Constitution natural gas line.

Overregulate and demonize frackers and horizontal drillers. Ensure there is less investment for their exploration and production.

Make use of internal combustible engines or fossil fuel power generation prohibitively expensive. Achieve a green oil-dependency along the lines of contemporary Europe.

Second, print trillions of dollars in new currency as the lockdowns end, demand rises, and consumers are already saturated with COVID-19 subsidies. Keep interest rates low, well below the rate of inflation, as you print more money. Ensure that passbook holders earn no interest at the very time prices skyrocket to the highest per annum level in 40 years.

“Spread the wealth” by sending money to those who already have enough, while making it less valuable for those deemed to have too much. Ensure runaway high prices to wean the middle class off its consumerism and supposedly to inspire them to buy less junk they don’t need. Damn the rich in the open and in the abstract, court them in the concrete and secret of darkness.

Third, end America’s physical boundaries. Render it an amorphous people and anywhere space. End any vestigial difference between a citizen and resident. Up the current nearly 50 million who were not born in the United States – 27 percent of California’s population – to 100 million and more by allowing 3 million illegal aliens to enter per year.

Fourth, destroy the public trust in its elections. Render Election Day irrelevant. Make proper auditing of 110 million mail-in/early ballots impossible. Normalize ballot harvesting and curing.

Urge leftist billionaires to infuse their riches to “absorb” the work of state registrars in key precincts to ensure the correct “turn-out.”

Blast as “election denialists,” “insurrectionists,” and “democracy destroyers” anyone who objects to these radical ballot changes, neither passed by the U.S. Congress nor by state legislators. Weaponize the FBI, CIA, and Department of Justice.

Fifth, redefine crime as one rich man’s crime, another poor man’s necessity.

Let those who need “things” exercise their entitlement to them. Rewrite or ignore laws to exempt the oppressed who take, or do what they want as atonement for past systemic racism and oppression.

Six, junk the ossified idea of a melting pot and multiracial society united by common American values and ideals. Instead, identify individuals by their superficial appearance. Seek to be a victim and monetize your claims against perceived victimizers. Call anyone a “racist” who resists.

Encourage each tribe, defined by common race, ethnic, gender, or sexual orientation affinities, to band together to oppose the monolithic “white privilege” majority. Encourage social and tribal tensions. Racially discriminate to end discrimination.

Greenlight statue toppling, name changing, boycotting, cancel culturing, ostracizing, and Trotskyizing. Erase the past, control the present, and create a new American person for the future.

Seven, render the United States just one of many nations abroad. Abandon Afghanistan in shame. Leave behind thousands of loyal Afghan allies, billions of dollars in equipment, a billion-dollar embassy, and the largest air base in central Asia. Appease the theocracy to reenter the Iran nuclear deal.

Beg enemies like Venezuela, Russia, and Iran to pump more oil when it is politically expedient for us to have abundant supplies – oil that we have in abundance but won’t produce. Discourage friends like Guinea from producing more energy and cancel allies’ energy projects like the EastMed pipeline.

Trash but then beg Saudi Arabia to pump more oil right before the midterms for domestic political advantage.

Eight, neuter the First Amendment. Enlist Silicon Valley monopolies to silence unwanted free speech while using Big Tech’s mega profits to warp elections. Declare free expression “hate speech.” Criminalize contrarian social media.

Nine, demonize half the country as semi-fascists, un-Americans, insurrectionists, and even potential domestic terrorists. Try to change inconvenient ancient rules: seek to pack the court, end the filibuster, junk the Electoral College, and bring in two more states.

Twice impeach a president who tried to stand in your way. Try him when he is an emeritus president and private citizen. Raid his home. Seek to indict a future rival to the current president.

Ten, never mention the origins of the COVID-19 virus. Never blame China for the release of SARS-CoV-2 virus. Exempt investigations of U.S. health officials who subsidized Chinese gain-of-function research. Ignore the Bill of Rights to mandate vaccinations, mask wearing, and quarantines.

We have done all of the above. It would be hard to imagine any planned agenda to destroy America that would have been as injurious as what we already suffered the last two years.
