How America's OIL MESS shows we're moving towards FASCISM

Glenn Beck

Democrats are pushing forward a bill to ‘reduce inflation,’ even though it will have the exact OPPOSITE effect. This all relates to the far-left’s effort to reduce global climate change, Glenn explains, but why should we trust President Biden to fix ANYTHING? Glenn uses America’s current strategic oil reserve MESS to prove that a) Biden cannot be trusted to solve ANY of our issues and b) to show how America is moving towards FASCISM with a dangerously fast pace…

Senior Economist 'Fact Checked' By Facebook For Saying US Is In Recession

MONDAY, AUG 01, 2022 - 08:22 AM
Authored by Steve Watson via Summit News,

An experienced economist has been ‘fact checked’ and corrected by Facebook after he stated that the U.S. is now in a recession.

Phil Magness, a researcher and educator with the American Institute for Economic Research, reacted to the incident by commenting “We live in an Orwellian hell-scape.”

Facebook uses ‘independent’ fact checkers at Politifact, a brazenly partisan operation, which ‘corrected’ Magness’ post about the Biden administration attempting to change the definition of a recession.
1659385932848.png

Magness provided examples of previous statements by Biden himself about being in a recession that were never fact checked:

1659386104933.png1659386200444.png

The economist also noted that practically every other country defines a recession as two consecutive quarters of negative growth:

Biden and his underlings have engaged in gaslighting on the definition of recession throughout the past week, and it has continued into this week:

Meanwhile, on Brian Stelter’s clown show Sunday, New York Times columnist and ‘economist’ Paul Krugman replied “No, we aren’t and no, it doesn’t,” when asked “Are we in a recession and does the term matter?”

Krugman said “None of the usual criteria that real experts use says that we’re in a recession right now,” which is blatantly not true.

“What does matter?” Krugman further stated, adding “The state of the economy is what it is. Jobs are abundant.”

As for Krugman’s repetition of the Biden talking point about jobs…

First Grain-Laden Ship Safely Departs Ukraine's Odessa Port

MONDAY, AUG 01, 2022 - 07:30 AM

Turkey has confirmed that the first shipment of Ukraine grain has left the port of Odessa, after six months of war-time blockages, under the UN-brokered deal to secure safe passage of grain ships signed by Moscow and Kiev last month.

"The ship Razoni has left the port of Odessa bound for Tripoli in Lebanon. It is expected in Istanbul on August 2. It will then continue its journey after it has been inspected in Istanbul," a Turkish Defense Ministry statement said.

Via AFP

The Kremlin also hailed the success based on the terms laid out in Isanbul: "As for the departure of the first ship, this is very positive. A good opportunity to test the effectiveness of the mechanisms that were agreed during talks in Istanbul," Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

According to Ukrainian officials the 186-meter long Sierra Leone-flagged Razoni cargo ship is laden with 26,000 tonnes of corn, and is expected to soon be followed by other ships.

The deal was signed on July 22 - with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres having hailed it as a "beacon of hope" after previously estimating that some 50 million people are facing "acute hunger" due to one of the biggest single global exporters of wheat. "Ensuring that existing grain and foodstuffs can move to global markets is a humanitarian imperative," Guterres said more recently.

Following the two warring sides signing "mirror" agreements with the United Nations, it took less than a week to get the joint coordination center based in Istanbul up and running. The coordination center, staffed by Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, and UN officials is tasked to "oversee departures from the ports of Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny, in which ships must circumvent mines, and will conduct inspections of incoming ships for weapons," Turkish media has described, noting too that all vessels must traverse Turkish waters.

Media estimates have commonly indicated that some 20 million tons of grain, largely from last year's harvest, have been "held hostage" and are piling up at blockaded ports.

The New York Times writes in a recent report on the crisis, "But despite fanfare in Brussels and Washington, the accord is being greeted cautiously in the fields of Ukraine. Farmers who have lived for months under the risk of Russian missile attacks and economic uncertainty are skeptical that a deal will hold."

1659388150625.png

And more from the report:
"The opening of the Black Sea ports is not by itself the magic answer," said Georg von Nolcken, chief executive of Continental Farmers Group, a large agro-business with vast tracts around western Ukraine. "It’s definitely a step forward, but we can’t assume that the deal will bring Ukraine back to where it was” before the war," he said.

The blockage has ignited wild price swings for crops and the cost of transporting them. Storage is running out for the latest harvests, leaving many scrambling for makeshift solutions.
The grain blockage from what's been dubbed the world's breadbasket saw a global spike in food prices which made the ability of poorer nations to continue imports an immense challenge. Moscow has tended to blame Ukraine for the crisis, after its military mined the ports.

Ukrainian officials have lately voiced concerns that Russia may be looking to 'sabotage' the deal - for example, by missile strikes on ports and infrastructure crucial to commodities exports. More ships are said to be waiting to leave.

Senate Dem Proposal Would Hike Taxes On Lower Incomes

Manchin-Schumer is projected to increase taxes $11 billion more on Americans earning below $200,000 than those earning over $400,000.

Michael Shellenberger

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (left) and Senator Joe Manchin (right) are trying to persuade Senator Krysten Sinema to support a tax increase.

When Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) went on NBC’s “Meet the Press” yesterday he said that the $700 billion climate change, energy, and health care proposal he announced last week with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer would not raise taxes. “We should not increase taxes, and we did not increase taxes,” he told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

But a new study by the U.S. Congress’s nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation has found that not only would the legislation increase taxes, it would increase taxes by $11 billion more on Americans earning below $200,000 per year than on Americans earning between $500,000 and $1 million, in 2023.

And the legislation would increase taxes by $3 billion more on Americans earning below $200,000 per year than on Americans earning between $200,000 and $500,000 per year

As such, if Democrats pass the legislation, and President Joe Biden signs it into law, it would violate the promise President Joe Biden made not to increase taxes on Americans earning less than $400,000 per year. Biden reaffirmed this promise during his State of the Union Address in March of this Year. “And under my plan, nobody earning less than $400,000 a year will pay an additional penny in new taxes. Nobody.

Democrats say that Schumer-Manchin isn’t really a tax increase because the higher taxes would be indirectly passed on to employees by corporations required to pay the new 15% minimum tax by reducing their after-tax wages. It’s a “bogus argument,” said Steve Rosenthal, senior fellow at the Tax Policy Center, of the tax increase. Rosenthal said that anybody pointing it out was engaging in “a gotcha kind of thing.”

But neither Rosenthal nor anybody else is questioning the assumptions made by the Joint Committee on Taxation, which calculated the tax increases. It is standard economic practice to assume that companies would pass along at least some of their tax increase to employees.

And the Joint Committee is a widely respected and nonpartisan committee that is staffed by Ph.D economists, accountants, and attorneys and has been in existence for nearly 100 years and is trusted by members of Congress from both parties. Moreover, its analyses is supported by a calculation by the National Association of Manufacturers, which calculates that the higher taxes would reduce reduce workers’ income income by $17 billion and GDP by $69 billion.

Economists have long observed that taxes on corporations are passed on to workers, customers, and shareholders. If the goal is to reduce income disparities then one must raise taxes more on people earning higher incomes than on people earning lower ones, and the Schumer-Manchin legislation does not do this.

Democrats argue that the legislation will save lower-income people money by reducing energy costs, but there are good reasons to doubt this.

Fertiliser prices hit new highs as multiple problems affect global supplies
Factors include reduced supplies from Russia and Belarus, China export ban and Canadian rail strike

Fertiliser prices have broken new records as global supplies are hit by multiple factors including reduced supplies from Russia and Belarus, disruptions to the supply chain, a China export ban and a Canadian rail strike.

“It’s a series of events we’ve never seen before and it continues to look like it’s going to get worse than better,” said Josh Linville, the director of fertiliser at the US commodity trader StoneX. “People thought the Russia-Ukraine war would be quick and Russia would be back out in the market and that’s not been the case.”

Prices for raw materials that make up the crop nutrient commodity market – ammonia, nitrogen, potash, urea, phosphates, sulphates and nitrates – have risen 30% since the start of the year, and are now higher than the levels reached during the food and energy crisis when prices jumped in 2008, according to CRU, a UK-based commodity consultancy.

Tractor bales up straw

Prices of Nola urea, one of the easiest fertiliser commodities to track, is trading at a 34-year high of $880 a US ton – in 2020 the price was $182. Prices are up 60% since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.

Linville said he was now witnessing grain prices moving in response to fertiliser prices, not vice versa. “It’s something we’ve never seen before,” he said. “It’s new territory for everybody who has ever been in this market.”

Grain prices have been volatile since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as importers are heavily reliant on supplies shipped from the Black Sea region.

Russian fertiliser companies have not been hit with sanctions, through a number of Russian executives connected to the industry have been placed on sanctions lists. The country’s industry and trade ministry on 4 March recommended that its producers temporarily halt fertiliser exports.
A grocer sits with four loaves of bread in Lilongwe, Malawi. Africans are feeling the impact of the Ukraine crisis in increases in the price of grain, as well as fuel and fertiliser.
The ban was largely symbolic, however, since most of the country’s fertiliser exports move through ports disrupted by the conflict in Ukraine.

Belarus, which exports potash through Lithuanian ports, was hit with export sanctions after it permitted Russian troops to stage and enter Ukraine across its borders. Russia and Belarus are the world’s second- and third-largest producers of potash, a key ingredient for producing nitrogen-containing fertilisers, after Canada.

“There’s a sheer logistical problem of how to get it out of Baltic and the Black Sea ports, it’s difficult to find buyers because people don’t want to engage with Russian companies,” sai Mike Nash at the commodity market analyst Argus.

“The logical conclusion to this is demand destruction,” he adds. “I don’t see any change while this conflict continues.”

Last year, China tightened its controls on exports of fertilisers, primarily nitrogen and phosphate, effectively shutting off the supply to the global market through to June this year to try to limit a rise in domestic food prices.

Beijing’s move exacerbated a shortage of global supplies and helped contribute to a surge in prices across international markets. According to Nash, the likelihood of China lifting restrictions in June is remote.

While the loss of Chinese, Russian and Belarusian exports have pushed fertiliser prices up further, a labour dispute at Canadian Pacific Railways is expected to aggravate shortages.

Canada’s Nutrien Ltd, the world’s biggest fertiliser producer, said it could weather a freight shutdown lasting a few days but a longer shutdown would force it to consider slowing potash production. The company said last week it planned to increase potash output by nearly 1m tonnes this year to about 15m tonnes in response to the uncertainty of supply from eastern Europe.

OPINION
The World Has a New Weapon: It's Called 'Fertilizer' | Opinion
GORDON G. CHANG , AUTHOR, COMMENTATOR
ON 6/21/22 AT 6:30 AM EDT

Add one more critical shortage to the world's swollen list. Countries for months have been hoarding fertilizer—and now they are weaponizing it, making sales in return for geopolitical favors.

Last July, China's National Development and Reform Commission stopped major companies from exporting fertilizer. In September, Beijing imposed a prohibition on exports of phosphates, a primary fertilizer ingredient, until at least the middle of this year. In October, Chinese officials added inspection requirements to aid enforcement of the bans. The moves were a reaction to rising prices in China and elsewhere.

China's fertilizer bans created shortages. The country's traditional customers had to search the world for alternate supply, eventually depleting other sources. "The ripple effect is that the entire world trade balance goes down, and there's just not enough out there to go around," said Josh Linville, director of fertilizer for StoneX, to Progressive Farmer.

India, for its part, blocked exports of urea—also fertilizer.

Export bans, unless short-lived, generally violate World Trade Organization rules.

Beijing gets around the prohibition on export prohibitions by calling its measures "temporary."

China then figured out that it could dole out fertilizer in return for favors. It has, despite its export bans, been selling small amounts to the Philippines, which Beijing hopes to wean away from the U.S. Chinese officials are now holding out the prospect of bigger sales to Manila.

India is now wielding urea like a dagger against its Chinese foe. In the middle of last month, New Delhi confirmed it would sell Sri Lanka 65,000 metric tons of the fertilizer.

India's urea allows Sri Lankan farmers to plant in the May-August season and arrives at a time of critical need. The country was spending about $400 million annually to import fertilizer, but had not been able to make purchases recently due to the lack of foreign exchange. The government in March 2021 banned chemical fertilizer to conserve depleted currency reserves.

India's sale relieved severe pressure on the embattled Sri Lankan government of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The politically dominant Rajapaksa clan had borrowed heavily from Beijing for misconceived ventures scattered throughout the country. China extended around 17% of the country's total debt, although some believe that figure is higher. Whatever the percentage, Sri Lanka, just off India's southeast coast, was becoming extraordinarily dependent on Beijing.

China Warns U.S. Against ‘Dangerous’ Taiwan Policy

Pictured above, Chinese President Xi Jinping (R) shake hands with U.S Vice President Joe Biden (L) inside the Great Hall of the People on December 4, 2013 in Beijing, China.PHOTO BY LINTAO ZHANG/GETTY IMAGES

In April, the Sri Lankan government declared a suspension of repayment of foreign debt. The BBC reports that the country's first default since independence is "largely because it cannot service loans from China that paid for massive infrastructure projects." Beijing has now lost clout largely because India used its urea sale to diminish Chinese influence.

Trade experts are becoming worried about export bans. The World Trade Organization, as a part of the so-called "Geneva Package," last week took action to make sure that countries would no longer refuse to sell food to the UN's World Food Program and would not generally restrict food exports. Egypt, India, and Sri Lanka, however, have made it clear they are against any rule forcing them to sell food. The disagreement inside the 164-member body highlights the intense global scramble for wheat, corn, rice, and other staples.

There is no mystery why food is now becoming scarce. Russia's war against Ukraine led to the blockage of Black Sea ports, transit points for grains from the "breadbasket of Europe." Moreover, sanctions imposed on Moscow disrupt trade in food and fertilizer. Before the February invasion, Russia and Ukraine accounted for 29% of the world's wheat exports. "War is tipping a fragile world towards mass hunger," The Economist proclaimed in an article aptly titled "The Coming Food Catastrophe."

Yet war is not the only factor. There is also the worst drought in America's West in 1,200 years; China's declining food self-sufficiency; and civil wars and crises, some raging for decades, especially in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

As a result, countries are now adopting export bans on food. India, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Serbia, Russia, and Ukraine have prohibited wheat exports.

According to the International Food Policy Research Institute, 14 countries have stopped the export of foodstuffs since the beginning of the war in Eastern Europe.

Washington, D.C.-based trade expert Alan Tonelson tells Newsweek that we are witnessing the deglobalization of food. As he points out, the Biden administration may keep Russian sanctions in place even after the war ends—and countries might in any event reduce food dependence on the aggressive Vladimir Putin. "Some Balkanization of the global food supply system looks likely," Tonelson, who blogs at "RealityChek," notes.

Yes, countries, in our era of deglobalization, have just found new weapons: food and fertilizer.

Leslyn Lewis warns of coming food shortages due to Trudeau’s green agenda
'As a nation that has prided itself on being an agricultural giant, we should not be facing the kind of food shortages that other countries around the world are experiencing.'

Sat Jul 30, 2022 - 12:26 pm EDT

OTTAWA, (LifeSiteNews) – Conservative Party of Canada MP and leadership candidate Dr. Leslyn Lewis warned that Canada will face a “food shortage” should the country push ahead with the Liberal Party’s green policies which attack Canadian farmers.

“We are heading directly for a food shortage unless our government starts supporting our farmers,” wrote Lewis in a platform blog update this week.

“As a nation that has prided itself on being an agricultural giant, we should not be facing the kind of food shortages that other countries around the world are experiencing.”

Lewis recently said attacks on Canadian farmers via so-called net-zero targets are like “sorcery” and a real cause for concern for Canada’s future food supply.

The government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is pressing ahead with an attack on Canadian farmers by pushing forth an agenda that would force them to reduce the amount of nitrogen-based fertilizer.

Concerning food shortages, Lewis noted that in the early days of COVID many “people talked about how it was a wake-up call to prioritize food security.”

“People talked about the importance of shopping local and supporting Canadian farmers so that we would never face the supply chain issues we did in early 2020,” wrote Lewis.

But the Conservative Party leadership contender said that Canada’s federal government under Trudeau has “thrown all of that out the window.”

“Instead, the Liberals used COVID-19 as an opportunity to push their virtue-signaling green agenda and further attack our farmers, weakening the industry.

And when Net-Zero policies were already threatening to cripple the industry around the globe, now the Liberals are making Canadian farmers pay for the war between Russia and Ukraine,” she wrote.

Lewis noted how no other G7 nation besides Canada has “a national carbon tax” nor have they put “a tariff on nitrogen fertilizer from Russia.”

“Those governments understood that with the amount of planning that goes into farming, it would take time to adjust. There simply wasn’t enough time to protect this year’s crop and feed people if they started what amounts to fining farmers for fertilizer purchase orders that were placed a year before the war had even started,” wrote Lewis.

Lewis said the Trudeau Liberals have “prioritized optics over good policy and didn’t provide an exemption for this year’s crop.”

“This will have devastating impacts on the cost of living and food affordability,” she added.

Lewis noted how some solutions could have been brought forth to help farmers, such as using Canada’s abundant natural gas reserves to produce local nitrogen.

“There are times when incompetence looks very much like a deliberate attempt to dispossess individual farmers and concentrate food production in the hands of mega land owners and even the state. Either way, our farmers are paying the price of short-sided Net-Zero policies, and soon that cost will be transferred to you – the consumer in the form of high food costs and shortages,” wrote Lewis.

“It’s time to wake up to reality, and secure our food supply chains. Our farmers have fed us for countless generations and they have always been good stewards of the land. It’s time we had their backs. Our country won’t survive without them.”

Trudeau’s climate plan includes provisions to decrease nitrous oxide emissions, which the government says mainly come from farmers, in Canada from its 2020 levels by 30 percent by 2030.

Dr. Joseph Mercola in a recent opinion piece wrote that looming food shortages are not happening by accident. He referenced the “Reset the Table: Meeting the Moment to Transform the U.S. Food System,” document published by The Rockefeller Foundation July 28, 2020.

Mercola explained that the “Reset the Table” document “describes how they intend to seize control of the food supply and the supply chain under the guise of ‘equity,’ ‘fairness,’ and ‘environmental protection’.”

“One key to this enterprise is data collection. They want to collect data on everyone’s spending and eating habits. Expanding broadband access is part of that,” he added.

The high cost of food forces many to flock to food banks in record numbers
As it stands today, Canadians are already facing huge price increases in the cost of food due to rampant nationwide inflation spurred on by massive money printing.

While the government places the food inflation rate at 8.8 percent year over year, many staple items such as chicken, and some vegetables have increased in price by over 20 percent.

The high cost of food no doubt is one of the main reasons Canadians have been flocking to food banks in record numbers.

Food Banks Canada CEO Kirstin Beardsley said the summer of 2022 may very well be the worst summer Canada’s food banks have ever witnessed.

“You’ve got more people coming through the doors because they aren’t able to put food on the table for their families, you’ve got fewer people in the community who are in a position to give — they might not need a food bank but their budgets are stretched,” Beardsley said.

OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – Conservative Party of Canada MP and leadership candidate Dr. Leslyn Lewis said attacks on Canadian farmers via so-called net-zero targets are like “sorcery” and a real cause for concern for Canada’s future food supply.

“It’s agriculture, what is being attacked. And that’s why I believe that there’s an agenda,” Lewis said during a recent campaign stop speech.

“This whole net zero … nobody is ever asked to define net zero. And that’s what the farmers are fighting over right now,” she added.

Lewis noted how, as an example, “you eat a piece of steak, that steak, the carbon footprint is calculated by every single thing that that cattle consumed up until you ate it, and then the fact that you ate it, that what the carbon footprint is.”

“And so, the nitrogen in the soil, the feed, the transportation of the feed, everything is calculated. And then they do an equation and then they say it’s not sustainable.”

Lewis said net-zero farming practices is what happened in countries such as the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.

“And the problem is, is that even for agricultural production, where farmers have gone to even zero tillage, and has invested in technology, and they thought that that would have been enough, and that’s what the government in Holland said, that would have been enough, then they changed the rules and they said, no, it’s not enough, all that money you invested, I’m sorry, it still doesn’t meet net zero,” Lewis said.

“And that’s the problem because the net zero calculation is almost like it’s sorcery.”

Lewis before has blasted the current cancel-culture crusade against red meat by pushing bugs as a source of food.

In a recent campaign blog update posted on her website, Lewis wrote, “Mega corporations shouldn’t be buying up all our farmland. Governments shouldn’t be interfering in how we farm. Bugs are not beef. Let’s stand up for farmers and protect our food security.”

Lewis also noted how the green push to force a phase-out of abundant oil and gas reserves is hypocritical considering what the elites are trying to promote as substitutes.

“When you look at an electric car, and if you’re going to do a net zero calculation on an electric car and you look at … a cobalt mine or a lithium mine, and you look at the degradation of that and then you look at the fact that five-year-old African children are working in those mines,” Lewis said.

“And then you look at the battery in an electric car and how it gets disposed of afterwards and the years that it would take to break down that battery, and you do a carbon footprint on that, you would see that that is far more damaging than agriculture.”

Lewis said as prime minister she would “secure” Canada’s “food supply.”

“It’s key to our national sovereignty, and the literal health of our country,” Lewis wrote.

“A Lewis-led government will always stand up for Canadian farmers and our agriculture sector.”

The Canadian federal government under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is pressing ahead with an attack on Canadian farmers by pushing forth an agenda that would force them to reduce the amount of nitrogen-based fertilizer.

Trudeau’s climate plan includes provisions to decrease nitrous oxide emissions, which the government says mainly come from farmers, in Canada from its 2020 levels by 30 percent by 2030.

The Great Reset of Klaus Schwab and his World Economic Forum (WEF) has as part of its agenda the promotion of eating bugs to replace beef, pork, and other meats that they say have high “carbon” footprints.

In recent days, there has been an unprecedented uprising of farmers in the Netherlands opposed to green policies.

Lewis: ‘Great Reset’ is not a conspiracy but real
In a recent blog update, Lewis noted how the WEF “was never a conspiracy — it was an actual book written by the head of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, about how to usher in a ‘green economy.’”

“We have watched leaders around the globe — like our Prime Minister — operate in lockstep and proclaim that COVID has given us a great opportunity to ‘reset’ and reimagine our economic and social future,” Lewis wrote.

“I will stand against WEF policies that undermine our sovereignty, erode our freedom, and attempt to shape our destiny into their post-nationalist state.”

Lewis noted how the idea that a group of “elites could go around the world ‘penetrating’ political democracies and concluding that ‘you will own nothing and you will be happy’ goes against the values of free enterprise and sovereignty that built Canada into this incredible country.”

Dutch Farmers Are Protesting A Government Policy Canada and Ireland are Now Proposing, Is The U.S. Next?
While President Biden hasn’t declared climate an emergency, some feel it’s a waiting game. Just ask Illinois farmer Sherman Newlin.
While President Biden hasn’t declared climate an emergency, some feel it’s a waiting game. Just ask Illinois farmer Sherman Newlin.(Farm Journal)

By JENNA HOFFMAN July 29, 2022

Ag carbon emissions are high on some country’s government dockets this year, as the Netherlands released a 13-year, 25-billion-euro plan to cut nitrogen oxide and ammonia emissions by 50% by 2030.

Canada’s Take
Canada—a country whose ag industry $134.9 billion of its 2021 GDP—followed in the Netherland’s footsteps last Friday, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiling a plan to cut nitrogen emissions 30% from 2020 levels by 2030.

Trudeau’s report also outlines recommendations for farmers to use, among other practices:
1. 4R strategies
2. Variable rate technology
3. Cover crops

Kristjan Hebert of Saskatchewan, Canada farmer, says farmers in his area use most of these practices already. He says they’re more concerned about how these proposals will change before they’re written into law.

“The problem is that some of these pretty poor ideas come on a boat from the EU and get dropped off in Ottawa,” he says. “What’s going on in the Netherlands, and what took place in Sri Lanka, is getting overlaid on top of our policy.”

Audio 20:53 min report from Illinois on corn

In response to Trudeau’s announcement, Fertilizer Canada released analysis showing significant production loses if the legislation passes, as farmers say they will need to shrink grain output to meet the 2030 goal.

According to the analysis, Canada could lose over 160 million metric tons of canola, corn and spring wheat between 2023 and 2030 if the Trudeau’s plan is put into action.

Ireland Builds on Ag’s Parameters
Canada and the Netherlands are not alone in drafting new climate policies directed towards ag.

Ireland’s government is proposing new laws which will give government the power to hinder any farmer from buying, holding or spreading fertilizer, according to the Irish Examiner. It says anyone looking to get their hands on fertilizer will have to be registered as a “professional fertiliser end user.”

This news comes on the heels of Ireland finalizing its 5th amendment to the Nitrates Action Programme, a move that tightened the reigns on water quality issues. Ireland’s Minister O’Brien says the policy amendments are important in achieving the country’s climate goals.

“Protecting and improving water quality, along with biodiversity, is a national priority in Ireland, and these amendments provide additional clarity to Ireland’s Nitrates Action Programme in order to achieve this objective.”

Is the U.S. Next?
In early July, The Hill was filled with talks that President Biden might declare a climate emergency following Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) nixing an economic package that contains new spending on climate or tax increases, according to Jim Wiesemeyer, ProFarmer policy analyst.

Instead of a climate emergency, Biden moved to pen a series of executive orders to address climate through:

1. Program funding to help strengthen flood control, bolster utilities and organize heating and cooling assistance for low-income communities.
2. A switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy through domestic offshore wind built by Vineyard Wind.
3. Workplace heat inspections, including parameters for when employers can force employees to work—or not—amid extreme cold or heat.

While President Biden hasn’t declared climate an emergency, some feel it’s a waiting game. Just ask Illinois farmer Sherman Newlin.

“I feel like every day is one day closer to having the President declare a climate emergency,” he says. “Once that happens, I don’t know what it will mean for ag, or what it’s going to open up the door to.”

Newlin says he checked out on climate emergency conversations months ago because its “it doesn’t feel right and it’s so far out there.”

AgriTalk Host Chip Flory echoed Newlin, saying it feels like “forced sustainability”—a path he feels farmers have been walking for quite some time.

Manchin-Backed Spending Bill Would Tax Oil Companies $25 Billion And Spend $370 Billion On Climate Change

MONDAY, AUG 01, 2022 - 05:40 PM

At a time when the Biden administration is both vilifying the oil and gas industry at any chance they get, yet also paradoxically searching for new supply to bring online to mitigate soaring prices in the sector, a new $25 billion tax bill could be on its way to oil companies.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Joe Manchin's that was introduced last week includes the $25 billion in new taxes, Bloomberg reported this weekend. The hikes are similar to ones that would have raised $25 billion over 10 years in the House-passed Build Back Better Act.

The newly implemented tax bill for oil companies would come from a "long-lapsed tax on crude and imported petroleum products to 16.4 cents per gallon", a summary of the bill, which was released late on Sunday, indicated.

The Superfund tax previously "stood at 9.7 cents per barrel until it lapsed at the end of 1995", Bloomberg noted. It was formerly paid with the intention of helping clear up hazardous waste sites (hence the "Superfund" name).

The Bill released last week was 725 pages, and so we're certain that more wonderful goodies will make their way into the public discourse as the bill moves closer to the President. In addition to the crude tax, Bloomberg writes that it places a "new first-time fee on methane emissions rising to as much as $1,500 a ton and increases the royalty rate companies pay to the government for oil and gas produced on federal land."

In other words, the Biden administration would be trying to tax new oil supply online. Good luck with that.

And, of course, what would any completely ass-backwards bill be without about $370 billion in spending to help fight climate change at the very same time the country is in the midst of an inflationary crisis?

As Zero Hedge contributor Quoth the Raven wrote last month, the war on capitalism continues:
It’s so clear this isn’t just a leftist war about clean energy, it’s a war on capitalism and profitability. The left absolutely hates that oil companies make money. Biden recently complained they are “making more money than god” but failed to say they “lost more money than god” when they burned through $20 billion in 2020.
Leftists politicians believe these companies simply don’t deserve it. The left wants a state planned economy where they dictate which companies are virtuous enough for them to be the bearer of profits, regardless of how integral the products or services are to them in their daily lives.
And as we see, as these companies return back to profitability, all of a sudden it’s important to immediately denounce them. This is a war on capitalism.

POSTED ON AUGUST 1, 2022 BY JOHN HINDERAKER IN ENERGY POLICY

“GREEN” IS UNSUSTAINABLE
The administration’s “green” energy proposals, like those that have been adopted in Europe, are leading this country toward an economic, social and strategic disaster. It is hard to think of any set of policies, adopted by any government at any moment in history, that rival our “green” mania for sheer destructiveness. Although, that said, Sri Lanka’s brief commitment to “sustainability” comes to mind.

Speaking of sustainability, this piece by Stuart Gottlieb in today’s Wall Street Journal, titled “Biden’s Climate Plans Are Unsustainable,” makes some great points.
[T]he greatest threat to [environmental] progress—particularly in the critical realm of climate—comes not from such emerging mega-emitters as China and India, although they certainly play a role. It comes from the energy and climate initiatives promoted by the Biden White House, which are themselves unsustainable—so aggressive and unduly optimistic that they risk a backlash that would set back the cause of environmental sustainability for generations.
This is true for at least three reasons.

To begin with, the agenda is economically unsustainable. According to the federal Energy Information Administration, global demand for energy will rise nearly 50% by 2050, with fossil fuels still accounting for roughly 75% of world supply. Though many Democrats insist this simply proves the urgency of making the transition, there are no economic models showing how that could occur without causing massive harm to the underlying economy. A McKinsey & Co. report shows that achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 would require nearly $6 trillion in new spending globally every year for the next 30 years—roughly equal to one-third of all tax receipts by every government in the world.

My experience with energy-related studies by companies like McKinsey causes me to think that this estimate is probably low by a factor of several times, if not orders of magnitude. But McKinsey’s numbers are bad enough. It simply isn’t going to happen.

The current agenda is also geostrategically unsustainable. It is increasingly clear that both Russia and China view aggressive Western climate commitments as an opportunity to increase their power and influence. We have already witnessed what Europe’s reliance on Russian natural gas has wrought: unacceptable dependence on one of the world’s vilest governments.

Meanwhile, China is seeking to dominate Western markets for renewables (wind turbines, solar panels, lithium batteries) while enjoying its own right as a developing country, conferred by international conventions, to keep burning cheap fossil fuels as it powers its rise toward passing the U.S. as the world’s largest economy.

Is the Biden administration deliberately trying to sell us out? Is Joe Biden a paid agent of the Communist Chinese, or perhaps of the Putin regime? I have always assumed that the answer is no, but the troubling question is, if Biden were a Chinese agent, what, exactly, would he be doing differently? The answer: nothing.
And the current agenda is politically unsustainable. Without committed action by the Group of Seven nations—the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the U.K.—there is little hope for real climate progress in coming decades. Yet these are also the world’s leading democracies, accountable to their publics. There is a real danger that voters in these countries will rebel against climate policies that ramp up energy prices, hinder economic growth and even lead to rationing and blackouts.
I should hope so! Blackouts are coming soon, likely to a neighborhood near you.

I would say that the certainty that voters will rebel against blackouts is not a “danger,” but rather the salvation of our civilization.

If the Democrats continue with their mad “green” dreams, the inevitable result is that the day will come when we flip our light switches and nothing happens.

Understand: if the Left gets its way on energy, the question is not “whether.” The question is “when.” When that day comes, and it will, there will be Hell to pay.

One last thing: some climate hysterics are even more extreme than the Biden administration. Check out this account from an admiring left-wing source of “climate activists” who roam city streets, letting the air out of vehicles’ tires:
One of the group kneels down, unscrews the tire valve cap, stuffs a lentil inside, and puts the cap back on. The tire immediately lets out a startled “pfft” noise, a leaflet is slapped onto the windshield and the group melts back into the night.
The Tyre Extinguishers movement started in the UK, spread to a clutch of other countries, and has now landed in the US. Since June, dozens of SUV and pickup truck owners in New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Chicago have discovered their vehicles with flat tires along with a note on the windshield declaring: “Your gas guzzler kills.”
As angry as normals will be when their lights don’t go on or they can’t heat their homes, they might be even more irate if they find that “environmentalists” have disabled their SUVs. And, by the way, where I live two-thirds of all vehicles sold are SUVs.

On energy, as on a number of other issues, the Democratic Party is on a collision course with reality. Call me an optimist, but throughout human history when ideology meets reality, reality generally wins.

Manchin-Schumer climate bill takes aim at cow burps and farts
by Breanne Deppisch, Energy and Environment Reporter

| August 01, 2022 05:00 AM

The Democratic climate and healthcare bill includes $25 million to combat enteric emissions produced by cows and farm animals, largely through burps and manure.

The $369 billion Inflation Reduction Act announced by Senate Democrats this week includes funding to address “enteric methane emissions from ruminants,” including by finding alternatives to the animals’ diets, according to the text of the bill.

Cows and other farm animals produce roughly 14% of human-induced climate emissions.

Agricultural researchers have developed a bevy of new methods for reducing enteric methane emissions, including filtering masks for cow noses and feed additives — both synthetic and natural.
Farm Bill Politics

One feed supplement developed by Dutch bioscience company BSM reduced methane emissions in dairy cows by 30% and in beef cattle by 80%.

Meanwhile, a study published last spring by University of California, Davis researchers found that introducing seaweed into cattle feed can reduce methane emissions from beef cattle by as much as 82%. “We now have sound evidence that seaweed in cattle diet is effective at reducing greenhouse gases and that the efficacy does not diminish over time,” said Ermias Kebreab, professor and chairman of the Department of Animal Science and director of the World Food Center.

Still, none of these feed additives have been approved for use in the United States. “Nobody knows how long it’s going to take,” Kebreab told Inside Climate News last month. “We are a long way away from that at the moment.”

Though methane emissions from cattle are shorter lived than carbon dioxide, they are 28 times more potent, according to researchers at UC Davis’s Department of Animal Science.

Republicans took aim at the provision.

“This is another example of how out of touch Senate Democrats are," said Patrick Creamer, the communications director for Republicans on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. "Americans are struggling with high prices at every turn — the grocery store, the gas pump, even at home with utilities — and yet Senate Democrats want them to pay billions for Green New Deal programs that were roundly rejected when they were first proposed. With inflation at 9%, these misplaced priorities are reckless and dangerous. ”

Another $300 million in the bill would be aimed at collecting and analyzing information on carbon sequestration on farms.

World leaders have made reducing methane emissions a major priority, and the U.S. and EU agreed last fall to cut these emissions by one-third over the next decade.

“Cutting methane is the biggest opportunity to slow warming between now and 2040,” Durwood Zaelke, a lead reviewer on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, told the Guardian last year.

The possibility that climate policy could focus on cow farts or penalize beef eating has been the source of controversy for years, especially after the introduction of the controversial Green New Deal resolution by left-wing Democrats in 2019.

A document released by the office of Green New Deal proponent Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), which was later retracted, said: “We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast."

REVEALED: Pelosi-Linked Lobbyists Are Pushing China’s Social Credit System For American Citizens.

AS PELOSI STAYS MUM ON TAIWAN, HER NETWORK IS LOBBYING FOR CCP SOCIAL CREDIT COMPANIES.

Ant Group – a payment platform used to implement “vaccine passports” and a “social credit” system in China – has retained a number of American lobbying firms, including some with ties to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former President Barack Obama, and failed presidential candidate Senator Mitt Romney.

Ant Group is an offshoot of the Chinese company Alibaba, previously flagged by the U.S. State Department as a “tool” of the Chinese Communist Party and crucial to the regime’s build-up of “technology-facilitated surveillance and social control.” Ant Group also owns AliPay, a digital payment platform used by Beijing to institute vaccine passports, which have been used to render citizens unable to leave their houses and forced into quarantine.

Ant Group is a key component of China’s broader “social credit” system, sharing the data it collects on users’ spending habits and online activity with Chinese Communist Party regulators.

Social credit systems have raised concern in the West, with many fearing the weaponization of government and business surveillance to restrict individuals’ access to the economy and services based on specific behaviors – or even ideologies.

Despite these fears, several American lobbyists are working on behalf of Ant Group, appearing to help broaden the company’s operations and reach inside of the U.S.

Throughout 2021 and 2022, Ant Group hired four external lobbying and public affairs firms to help with objectives including “outreach regarding corporate profile and operations of Ant Group and its subsidiary Alipay US.”

The OB-C Group has been representing Ant Group since January 1st, 2022 on “matters regarding regulatory issues for ANT Group and its subsidiaries.”

Among the firm’s consultants working for Ant Group is Larry O’Brien, who has been described by the Washington Post as a “major Democratic operative.”

“Mr. O’Brien has been a long-standing participant in the House Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) maximum level individual donor program, the Speaker’s Cabinet, and in the “Pelosi Team 100” program. Over a period of two decades, Mr. O’Brien has had an extensive degree of involvement and interaction with the House Democratic leadership, with myriad Democratic members across a wide array of House committees and with the leadership of the DCCC,” explains his professional bio.

He has also worked “at the most elevated participation level with the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee (DSCC),” charging its “premier individual donor group, the Legacy Circle, since the inception of the program in 2006.”

“He was designated a “Lifetime Member” of the Legacy Circle in 2014. In addition, he is the recipient of what the DSCC describes as one of the highest honors it can bestow, an award of lifetime membership in its “Majority Trust” program. In the award letter to Mr. O’Brien, Senator Schumer, then Chair of the DSCC, stated, “I can’t think of a more qualified Democrat to receive this honor,” his bio continues.

Another Ant Group lobbyist on behalf of the OB-C Group, Thomas J. Keating, served in the House of Representatives in the Office of Sergeant at Arms for over 13 years, with his most recent role as Director of Police Services.

Several other establishment D.C. figures – including advisors to the campaigns of George H.W. Bush and Mitt Romney – are also working on behalf of Ant Group according to the OB-C Group’s lobbying registration. For three months of work, the firm received a retainer of $60,000.

Lobbying firm Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld is also currently representing Ant Group, beginning its work for the Chinese company on January 27th, 2022.

In addition to Democratic congressional staffers and advisors to George W. Bush, Ed Pagano, who served as Senate Liaison and Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs in the Obama administration, is also working on behalf of AliPay.

Another government affairs firm – Rich Feuer Anderson – began lobbying for AliPay on January 1st, 2022, conducting “outreach regarding corporate profile and operations of Ant Group and its subsidiary Alipay US.”

Among the consultants working on behalf of Rich Feuer Anderson are alumni of the U.S. Treasury Department, Senate finance committees, and Democratic officials.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made much of her trip to Asia this week, though upon landing in Singapore, appeared to intentionally leave out references to China or Taiwan.

‘Resist, Wake Up, Stop Obeying’: Holocaust Survivor Draws Parallels in Current Society to Nazi Germany
By Matt McGregor

1659404304702.png
August 1, 2022 Updated: August 1, 2022

Vera Sharav was only 3 years old when her world collapsed.

She and her family were chased out of Romania and herded into a concentration camp in Ukraine during World War II, where they were left to wait, and starve.

“The cloud of death was always there,” Sharav told The Epoch Times.

Weekly, a list determined who would be sent where; whether it be a death or slave labor camp, she said.

While at the camp, she said her father died of typhus when she was 5, which had been widespread throughout the camps because of the cold and malnutrition.
After three years at the camp, she was rescued in 1944, she said.

“My mother got wind that a few orphans would be transported out of the camp, so she lied and said I was an orphan to save my life, and that’s how I wound up leaving,” Sharav said.

This began what she called her odyssey as a child without parents, left to her own intuition and keen critical assessment of others’ intentions.

“I had to assess who I could trust to take care of me,” she said.

While on a train to the Port of Constanta, Romania, where there were three boats awaiting to take groups of people to Palestine, she befriended a family. However, upon arrival, she found herself assigned a boat with other orphan children that would separate her from the family with whom she felt she could trust. So she rebelled.

“No matter what, I could not be convinced to get on that boat,” she said.

“Miraculously, in the end, they gave in to me.”

Seasick, she fell asleep that night, only to wake up to find that the boat with the orphans had been torpedoed by who she said she found out decades later to have been the Russians.

Though she carried guilt for having survived, she was grateful she resisted because that resistance kept her alive, she said.

“I do not obey authority, and it saved my life.”

Weaponized Medicine
These memories returned in 2020 during the web of COVID-19 restrictions that spun out of control with the help of media propaganda, she said.

“So now, when people are obeying authority mindlessly, giving up their rights to make decisions about their own lives and what goes into their own bodies, I think back to that time,” she said.

Today, Sharav is a medical activist and founder of the Alliance for Human Research Protection, a network of lay people and professionals who work to uphold humanitarian values and ethical standards established in the Hippocratic Oath, the Nuremberg Code, and the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights.

Most recently, she’s joined with Scott Schara, co-founder of Our Amazing Grace’s Light Shines On, Inc.

Epoch Times Photo Scott Schara. (Courtesy of Scott Schara)

Both Sharav and Schara discussed with The Epoch Times what they saw as parallels between the National Socialist regime in Germany and the current medical directives being carried out in the United States through government funding.

Since the death of his 19-year-old daughter Grace in a hospital in 2021, after having been injected with a combination of drugs that he found out later was part of a federal hospital protocol, Schara called what was happening “genocide.”

He has been crusading to tell his daughter’s story and network with others who have had a similar experience while bringing attention to the protocols that he believes amounted to the murder of his daughter, who had Down syndrome.
Under the Nazi regime, Sharav said, medicine was weaponized, as it has been today.

Though the Jews were the primary target, she said, the first medically murdered victims were disabled German infants and children under the age of 3.

This later expanded the operation—titled T4 for the street address of the program’s central office in Berlin—to the disabled of all ages, including the mentally ill and senior citizens, Sharav said.

“The Nazis called them worthless eaters,” she said. “T4 was a concerted effort to be rid of what their propaganda called the ‘economic burden.’”

Schara pointed to a 2021 Medicare Trustee’s Report, which evaluates the cost of keeping the elderly and disabled federally funded.

“Thirty-nine percent of that federal budget goes to those two groups right now, which is $2.2 trillion a year,” Schara said.

On page 11 of the report (pdf), there is a call for “substantial changes” to address financial challenges.

“The sooner solutions are enacted, the more flexible and gradual they can be,” the report states.

For Schara, the implication, while not overtly stated, suggests a call for eugenics that was supported by academic elites early in U.S. history, and later adopted by Nazi Germany.

Ten years after he took power, Adolph Hitler launched his genocide program that had been introduced in incremental steps with the help of propaganda portraying the regime as heroes, Sharav said.

“What happened to Grace, and what happened to many disabled and elderly in Western Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States in March and April of 2020 was medical murder,” Sharav said.

‘Built on a Lie’
Genocide isn’t new to the United States, Sharav said, as it was Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court Oliver Wendell Holmes who voted in favor of the 8-1 majority opinion in the 1921 case Buck v. Bell, which upheld the Virginia Sterilization Act of 1924 and the forced sterilization of Carrie Buck, who was alleged to be mentally defective.

Holmes said it would be better to prevent the mentally disabled from being born than to allow them to “sap the strength of the state” or “let them starve for their imbecility.”

“The principle that sustains compulsory vaccinations is broad enough to cover cutting Fallopian tubes,” the justice wrote in his opinion. “Three generations of imbeciles are enough.”

Carrie Buck, however, was never actually mentally disabled, Sharav said.

“Arguments for eugenics are always built on a lie,” Sharav said. “But it’s an ideology that continues to poison public health policies.” And he blames this type of thinking for the medical decisions that ultimately contributed to Grace’s death.

‘The Banality of Evil’
As he continues to try to wrap his mind around what happened to his daughter, Schara says he gained some insight from the writings of Holocaust survivor Hannah Arendt and her concept of the “banality of evil.”

“It opened up a whole different view of the world for me,” Schara said.

Sharav’s experience made her familiar with the concept. The banality of evil is the normalization of mass murder by making it a bureaucratic routine that is handed down as orders through the chain of command to the person who pulls the switch, gives the injection, or turns on the gas, she said.

“No one called it murder,” Sharav said. “The Nazis were very adept at propaganda and language. The Jews were called ‘spreaders of disease,’ not unlike the epithets thrown at those who didn’t take the jab.”

Throughout 2021, the spread of COVID-19 was blamed on “the pandemic of the unvaccinated,” a phrase that was used by President Joe Biden and governors such as North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper.

“The whole language of it is dehumanizing,” Sharav said.

‘A Slippery Slope’
Schara applies the concept to the fact that 67 percent of Down syndrome children are aborted in the United States, he said.

“Doctors encourage the mother to get an amnio (amniocentesis) test, and if the test shows Down syndrome or another disability that would complicate the parent’s life, he encourages an abortion,” Schara said.

What Sharav said she’s seen in an unholy union when medicine gets into bed with the government.

“The Hippocratic Oath goes out the window,” she said.

The pledge to “do no harm” got replaced with allegiance to “the greater good,” Sharav said.

The question then remains, who has the authority to decide what’s best for the greater good, Sharav challenged.

What supports the greater good is having respect for the individual, Sharav said, and to pursue policies that advocate for the many over the individual is to open the door to medical practices that will cause harm.

“Look at what Big Pharma is doing now to children, aggressively pursuing them to be jabbed when they aren’t at risk at all from COVID-19,” she said.

It’s a slippery slope that—with the help of advanced technology—society is sliding down rapidly compared to the snail’s pace that it took for Hitler to implement his “Final Solution,” Schara said.

“We’re headed there exceptionally fast,” Schara said. “Today, the ‘Final Solution’ is the reduction of the entire human population under the ‘Sustainable Agenda’ of Agenda 2030.”

Unlike the physical camps that required ink tattoos for identification and guards to manage the prisoners, the new prisons are digital, Sharav said, managed remotely by surveillance through smartphones and cities.

“With smart technology, you can manage billions all at once,” she said. “It’s chilling.”

It’s hard for many to fathom that an elite few would conspire to cause widespread harm, Sharav said.

“People will say, ‘They made a mistake; it was an accident.’ But no, the elite, just like the Nazis, have this arrogance in which they believe they are superior and therefore entitled to rule the rest of us because they think we are inferior,” Sharav said.

Control vs. Faith
Schara said his concern is with an elite ruling class that is godless, believing only in what is measurable and controllable.

He emphasizes his faith in God as a powerful weapon to combat the dark agendas that have escalated beyond the comprehension of the average person, working 60 hours a week just to make ends meet.

“We should not fall trap to the false light that Satan will eventually ride in on to steal more souls. God’s true light protects those who believe,” he said.

“We the People” can reclaim sovereignty by learning to trust in intuition, experience, and the ability to assess lies from truth, Sharav said.

“Stop watching mainstream media,” Sharav said. “They’re all reading from the same script. They have bombarded people with fearmongering, which is exactly the same thing that the Nazis did. That’s how they controlled the population: through fear.”

For Sharav, the mission that has been laid at the feet of people throughout the world is the same as it was for her as a child: “Resist. Wake up. Stop obeying.”

GLOBAL WARMING MYTH: In 1995 The New York Times Warned that East Coast Beaches Will Be Gone in 25 Years

By Joe Hoft
Published August 1, 2022 at 8:15a
Stop_global_warming_sign_under_tons_of_snow1.jpg

In 1995 the New York Times reported that in 25 years the beaches on the US East Coast would no longer be visible – they would be underwater due to global warming. Today evidence again proves The New York Times and climate change radicals were wrong.

On Monday, September 18, 1995, the New York Times wrote an article that claimed:
This, say the scientists, would inundate parts of many heavily populated river deltas and the cities on them, making them uninhabitable, and would destroy many beaches around the world. At the most likely rate of rise, some experts say, most of the beaches on the East Coast of the United States would be gone in 25 years. They are already disappearing at an average of 2 to 3 feet a year.
NYT-1995-Beaches-are-gone-in-25-Years3.jpg

Now twenty-seven years later, the beaches are still here. Not one of the beaches is underwater and the frightening prophecies of the global alarmists are proven false again.

The below pictures are satellite images from the Jones Beach area on Long Island. The pictures show the beaches from 1995 through 2021. The beaches are still here. They have not fallen into the ocean. The sea levels are not so high due to global warming that the beaches are gone.

NYT-Beaches-1995-to-Present.jpg

The radical predictions about the rate and impact of global warming that are made by the for-profit/for rent global warming scientists are not science.

The original statements were shared to frighten people. People will give up their freedom when frightened. They only want protection. Look at the COVID lockdowns to see another example of mass manipulation.

Bill Gates and Other Radicals Pressed Joe Manchin to Vote for Biden’s Behemoth Climate Change Bill

By Joe Hoft

With inflation at 40-year highs, the Biden Democrats want to push through another behemoth spending bill. This one is supposedly related to climate change.

Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia said this week that he would vote for another massive Biden spending bill. This comes with 40-year high inflation crushing families across the U.S.

1659405441873.png

According to Yahoo, Bill Gates, Larry Sommers and others were responsible for changing Manchin’s mind about voting for the bill.

Bill Gates was among those who lobbied U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin—a frequent key Democratic holdout—to support an economic package focusing on climate and health care, after more than a year of negotiations.
The push for the conservative Democrat to support what is now the Inflation Reduction Act—but was, until recently, the Build Back Better Act—included more than 20 leaders of clean energy manufacturing companies with plans to put down roots in Manchin’s West Virginia. They included Bill Gates, who owns a venture capital firm that has backed a battery start-up there, Politico reports.

Also among those who pitched in on lobbying efforts: former U.S. Treasury Secretary and Director of the National Economic Council Larry Summers.

“It was across the board,” Collin O’Mara, CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, told the political news outlet of the effort to obtain contrarian Manchin’s support. O’Mara reportedly played a key role in persuading Manchin to resume talks.
Gates, the billionaire founder of Microsoft has a checkered past. He was very outspoken about the China Coronavirus and related vaccines even though he’s not a virologist. He also was reported with Jeffrey Epstein multiple times yet he didn’t seem to be too concerned with Epstein’s death.

1659405491378.png

Larry Summers was also reportedly related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Summers must know that the U.S. economy cannot stand another trillion in debt. What are these people thinking?

Climate Maniacs and the Rapid Advancement of Agenda 2030

BY LLEWELLYN H. ROCKWELL JR.
August 1, 2022

Climate Maniacs

Brain-dead Biden and the gang that controls him are promoting an argument that is strange even by the low standards of that criminal gang. “It’s hot outside.

Let’s shut down the American economy and go green.” It doesn’t make sense, and its purpose is to kill people and destroy America in the process.

If the temperature goes up, is this good or bad? As Matt Ridley points out, on balance it’s very good: “Global warming is real. It is also – so far – mostly beneficial.

This startling fact is kept from the public by a determined effort on the part of alarmists and their media allies who are determined to use the language of crisis and emergency. The goal of Net Zero emissions in the UK by 2050 is controversial enough as a policy because of the pain it is causing. But what if that pain is all to prevent something that is not doing net harm?

The biggest benefit of emissions is global greening, the increase year after year of green vegetation on the land surface of the planet. Forests grow more thickly, grasslands more richly and scrub more rapidly. This has been measured using satellites and on-the-ground recording of plant-growth rates. It is happening in all habitats, from tundra to rainforest. In the four decades since 1982, as Bjorn Lomborg points out, NASA data show that global greening has added 618,000 square kilometres of extra green leaves each year, equivalent to three Great Britains. You read that right: every year there’s more greenery on the planet to the extent of three Britains. I bet Greta Thunberg did not tell you that.

The cause of this greening? Although tree planting, natural reforestation, slightly longer growing seasons and a bit more rain all contribute, the big cause is something else. All studies agree that by far the largest contributor to global greening – responsible for roughly half the effect – is the extra carbon dioxide in the air. In 40 years, the proportion of the atmosphere that is CO2 has gone from 0.034 per cent to 0.041 per cent. That may seem a small change but, with more ‘food’ in the air, plants don’t need to lose as much water through their pores (‘stomata’) to acquire a given amount of carbon. So dry areas, like the Sahel region of Africa, are seeing some of the biggest improvements in greenery. Since this is one of the poorest places on the planet, it is good news that there is more food for people, goats and wildlife.

But because good news is no news, green pressure groups and environmental correspondents in the media prefer to ignore global greening. Astonishingly, it merited no mentions on the BBC’s recent Green Planet series, despite the name.

Or, if it is mentioned, the media point to studies suggesting greening may soon cease. These studies are based on questionable models, not data (because data show the effect continuing at the same pace). On the very few occasions when the BBC has mentioned global greening it is always accompanied by a health warning in case any viewer might glimpse a silver lining to climate change – for example, ‘extra foliage helps slow climate change, but researchers warn this will be offset by rising temperatures’.

Another bit of good news is on deaths. We’re against them, right? A recent study shows that rising temperatures have resulted in half a million fewer deaths in Britain over the past two decades. That is because cold weather kills about ’20 times as many people as hot weather’, according to the study, which analyses ‘over 74million deaths in 384 locations across 13 countries’. This is especially true in a temperate place like Britain, where summer days are rarely hot enough to kill. So global warming and the unrelated phenomenon of urban warming relative to rural areas, caused by the retention of heat by buildings plus energy use, are both preventing premature deaths on a huge scale.

Surely this will change in the future? Probably not. Britain would have to get much, much hotter for summer mortality to start exceeding winter deaths. Not even Greece manages that. And the statistics show that – as greenhouse-gas theory predicts – on the whole more warming is happening in cold places, in cold seasons and at cold times of day. So winter nighttime temperatures in the global north are rising much faster than summer daytime temperatures in the tropics.

Summer temperatures in the US are changing at half the rate of winter temperatures and daytimes are warming 20 per cent slower than nighttimes. A similar pattern is seen in most countries. Tropical nations are mostly experiencing very slow, almost undetectable daytime warming (outside cities), while Arctic nations are seeing quite rapid change, especially in winter and at night. Alarmists love to talk about polar amplification of average climate change, but they usually omit its inevitable flip side: that tropical temperatures (where most poor people live) are changing more slowly than the average.” See this.

Brain-dead Biden says that we should respond to this good news by destroying the American economy through the Green New Deal. According to Joel Kotkin, “‘The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all… ‘Do you guys think of it as a climate thing? Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.’ So said Saikat Chakrabarti, former chief of staff for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and generally acknowledged author of the Green New Deal.

Sometimes it is wise to find out what ideas’ originators actually think. That is true for documents that have lit up our lives, such as the US Constitution, as well as for those that have darkened them, such as Mein Kampf.

This is true as well for the nascent Green New Deal, which President Joe Biden has essentially adopted as his own. Even if Congress fails to pass it entirely, Biden will seek to impose many of its goals through administrative diktats on gas-powered cars, land use, airplanes, any form of fossil fuel and nuclear power.

Green New Dealers will also extend the welfare state, including to those who choose not to work.

As Chakrabarti indicated, the Green New Deal is not another environmental ameliorative, but something far more fundamentally transformative. The Biden administration’s embrace of it is somewhat surprising given that the likely economic fallout of this plan – particularly for the working class – made both Biden and House speaker Nancy Pelosi distance themselves from it during the fall campaign. But now the Green New Deal has resurfaced, having made the metamorphosis from a leftist fantasy into a serious political initiative.

Remarkably, despite this record of distortion, climate hysteria has become the abiding faith of the dominant media, universities and a large swath of the corporate establishment, particularly on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley. Some have even embraced the hardly capitalist notion of degrowth, an ideology which suggests, in essence, the Western working and middle classes must sacrifice comfort and aspiration to save the planet. (Often at the urging of the world’s wealthiest people, with their grand estates and private jets!)

Although most industrial unions backed Biden, the first clear victims of his embrace of the Green New Deal are obvious: people working in energy and fields that depend on reliable and affordable energy, such as oil workers, truck drivers, factory and logistics workers. For example, a move to ban fracking – which vice-president Kamala Harris has supported – would, according to a US Chamber of Commerce report, cost several million jobs. This will be made much worse by the green turn against nuclear power and natural gas, notes long-time environmentalist Ted Nordhaus.

Under the Green New Deal, displaced workers will be placed on the dole, or encouraged to take a job in the ‘green economy’. Yet these jobs, notes a recent Building Trades Union study, pay far worse, and are less likely to last long or be unionised, than those in the conventional energy industry. ‘It’s pie-in-the-sky bullshit about these green jobs being good middle-class jobs, because they’re not’, said Terry O’Sullivan, general president of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, in conversation with Politico. ‘I’m concerned about union members and union families being left behind… and I think they’ve already been left behind.’”

Why do they want to do these horrible things to us? It’s part of the same plan as the deadly Covid vaccines to kill a large part of the world’s population and control what remains. Gary Barnett offers a good summary of their agenda:

“As of late, and after a global assault on humanity that is unmatched in history, expansion of the ‘reset’ (takeover) of society is ramping up to epoch proportions.

With this will come an onslaught of claimed monsters to frighten the masses into even more panic; the leading one before and after the ‘Covid’ hoax is complete, will likely remain the ridiculously named fraud called man-made ‘climate change.’ In fact, this has already begun, but will vastly escalate over the next few months and beyond in my opinion. At some point, ‘climate change’ will likely be disclosed as the core issue at hand so far as those wishing to gain total control of the masses are concerned, replacing in importance in effect, the other fraudulent tools of tyranny such as ‘virus pandemics,’ but not eliminating them as part of the conspiracy of depopulation and control.

This scenario has been planned and played out for decades, but is now getting into a very advanced stage in this plot to alter life as we have known it; relegating humanity to a two-tiered societal shift that consists of a controlling class sometimes referred to as the global ‘elites,’ and a slave class made up of the masses. This is meant to culminate with the master class of claimed elites imposing a technocratic hierarchy so extreme as to eliminate freedom of the individual entirely. To accomplish this, it is required that collectivism of the majority be the prevailing manner of ‘thought’ and politics, and that individuality be destroyed in favor of a communistic approach. So describes the postmodern mindset that has consumed the so-called intellectual left for some time, but unfortunately, it is not specific or unique to just the left today, but filters into the thinking of the ruling class of all political levels of thought. Therefore, the façade of right and left being political opposites is exposed as a lie, but this truth is generally avoided at all cost, and this attitude allows for radical totalitarian policies to flourish. Hence, critical thinking, truth, honesty, logic, and reason, disappear from view to be replaced by mass ignorance and indifference. Because of this great paradigm shift in societal reality, we are left to either fend off at all costs this assault by the state, or simply accept our slavery voluntarily.

In the midst of ‘Covid’ insanity, the agenda of ‘climate change’ is first and foremost on the minds of the globalists. In fact, this fake pandemic is being used (as purposely planned) to advance that agenda, and as stated by Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum: ‘Climate action must stay top of the global agenda as we emerge from COVID-19.’ According to these monsters, ‘climate change’ is the real threat, and this ‘pandemic’ is ‘laying the groundwork for the efforts required to tackle climate change.’ In addition, the climate and ‘Covid-19’ are considered to be completely interconnected and a convergence of crises.

The United Nations is parroting this same line of propaganda in saying that in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, our challenges are interconnected and can only be addressed through reinvigorated multilateralism with the UN at the center of our efforts. They have pledged to strengthen global governance for the sake of present and coming generations. The UN’s Secretary General stated that:

“The Covid-19 pandemic has served as a wake-up call and with the climate crisis now looming, the world is experiencing its biggest shared test since the Second world War.”

The fraudulent ‘virus pandemic’ has led the way to the future’s real and most major agenda being sought by the globalists, which is climate change legislation and mandated climate policy used to destroy the economic and monetary systems, to destroy farming and agriculture, to eliminate the individual, and to reshape the world into a complete technocratically controlled global society that will solidify the completion of the 2030 Agenda.

While this may seem like the end of the so-called crisis to some, it is only the beginning of hell on earth. The next few months will tell the tale, as every manner of tyranny possible will be attempted, and the citizens responses to this assault on humanity will be gauged in order to see just how far and how fast this takeover plot can be driven.”

I am an optimist. I believe the American people will awaken to the danger and oust these monsters before it’s too late. But it all depends on you.

Climate Change being Geo Engineered for the next great problem – Climate Collapse
globalintelhub's Photo

GIH - Private power groups that rule the world behind the shadows of governments have perfected their modus operandi through the use of Artificial Intelligence and 70 years of practice. These private groups can be traced back to the British East India Company, but they may have been operating for much longer than we can evidence (documentation was not so great 300 years ago like it is today). It's important for readers to understand their model - divide and conquer, or "Problem - Reaction - Solution." They engineer a problem (create a patent pending "Coronavirus") which causes panic, which is exacerbated by the Media fear mongering and terrorizing people (who voluntarily choose this abuse), and they present the solution: The Vax. This is the same model used to conquer oil rich Iraq, strategically important Afghanistan, and other places.

Operation COVERT-19 or "COVID" has run it's course and is in the final climax.

People are waking up to the reality that the Vax is not what it was as presented, and people are pissed. We can expect to see some kind of Vax scandal in the next 12 months, but it doesn't matter - 70% of the population has received at least one dose. There is no more 'selling' of the Vax that can produce more positive results - those who were susceptible to that PsyOp were victimized so it's time for the next carcass- Planet Earth.

"Climate Change" is going to destroy Earth, say the Elite. They say that factories, cars, cows, and people produce toxic elements such as carbon that are destroying the environment, and so we need to destroy these things, in order to save the Earth, they say. Ironically, the 95% of climate scientists that support this theory, have received money from the Federal government. [1] Only a complete brainwashed idiot believes this nonsense, when the same people saying this trot to "Climate Conferences" in their fire breathing dragons (Gulfstreams) that produce more of this 'pollution' than multiple commercial jets or hundreds of cars. Not only that, these same "Elites" are spending tens of billions per year spraying toxic heavy metals into the air including Barium, Aluminum (in the dust form of Alumina), Strontium, and other particles (Graphene, for example). [2] The evidence of this program is so obvious, all you need to prove is your phone camera and take a water sample to your local county government for testing, they will test your water for about $10 - $30 depending on the county. You can see hundreds of tests here. [3] We don't know exactly who is doing this but we know it's funded by the US Military, UN, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Spain has admitted the UN's involvement in a recent decree, as picked up by local papers. [4]

FXz1lMSUcAEz9Kq.jpg

One of the leading resources on this topic is GeoEngineeringWatch.org; [5] this program is global and seems to be more prevalent around populated areas. It affects plants, animals, and people. Motivations can be 1) weather modification 2) military applications (radar and wireless work better due to metal dust in the clouds) 3) stop humans to see what's going on in the skies creating a thin 'blanket' than is always present 4) slow death of humans by creating cancers, asthma, and other raspatory issues 5) create climate volatility, which can be used as an argument to tax us Trillions due to "ESG" regulations 6) Terraforming of Planet Earth with unknown / hard to identify motives or methods.

Likely it's a combination of all these reasons, but for the purposes of this article's argument we are going to stick with reason number 5, creating climate collapse.

The weather last few years is nothing short of apocalyptic. This may be due to cyclical Earth Changes such as Pole Shift (there is hard geologic evidence that the north and south poles were in hundreds of different locations) [6]. Even if that is the case, the Aerosol Spraying program is heavily affecting weather patterns, damaging plant/animal biospheres, and causing more extreme natural dangers such as fires, storms, volcanoes, earthquakes, etc. Aerosol Spraying is but one of many weapons in the arsenal of Geo Engineering, the most deadly are space based beam weapons or "Directed Energy Weapons" DEW which can not only create/modify/destroy a Hurricane, they can create Earthquakes (tectonic beam weapons), make it rain, or make it not rain. As part of the circumstantial evidence, isn't it interesting that there is a drought in every US/Alliance enemy for the past 20 / 30 years? North Korea has had drought [7] after drought making weather scientists scratch their heads why this happens in North Korea but not South Korea. Here's an update from GeoEngineeringWatch.org and the must watch Dimming documentary with expert testimony:

At the end of this article, we will include a small list of important documents that you can read and see for yourself. The evidence is all around us, it's all public, it's all patented, it's hidden in plain site. The "Climate Change" narrative is also part of hiding GeoEngineering which may have other purposes other than creating a 'fake crisis' that can be 'solved' by having citizens shell out for yet another "Carbon Tax."

The ESG Market
You may be thinking, why? Surely it's not just depopulation, even if that is a shared goal. Let's look at the ESG market. According to Bloomberg, [8] ESG assets are on track to reach $53 Trillion by 2025 - that's a huge number, or roughly 1/3 of all global assets:
No niche at $50 trillion in ESG assets
Assuming 15% growth, half the pace of the past five years, ESG assets under management could climb to more than a third of the projected $140.5 trillion global total by 2025. ESG assets are on track to reach $53 trillion, based on our analysis, up from $37.8 trillion by year-end. They jumped to $30.6 trillion in 2018 from $22.8 trillion in 2016.

While Europe accounts for half of global ESG assets, the U.S. has the strongest expansion this year and may dominate the category starting in 2022. The next wave of growth could come from Asia — particularly Japan. Exclusionary screening based on religious values and other criteria makes up the biggest chunk of ESG investing, at about $20 trillion globally in 2018, according to McKinsey and the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance.
ESG projected global AUM

ESG Projected Global AUM

ETFs set for $1 trillion ESG organic growth
ESG exchange-traded funds’ cumulative inflows should surpass $135 billion before 2021, and we expect growth to accelerate, with $1 trillion possibly entering such ETFs globally in the next five years. Of the $203 billion in 2020 ESG fund inflows through 3Q, about $49 billion — or 24% — went into ETFs. The pace isn’t slowing, with investments in ESG ETFs expanding for a 27th straight week and November inflows reaching a monthly record of $13 billion.
As you can see, this is a huge growth industry. It's not hard to see how GeoEngineering is tied to the ESG market - what's a few billion per year to create a trillion dollar problem, which has a ten trillion dollar solution?

Climate Change is not a hoax, it's a limited hangout. [9] Climate Change is real, in fact they should be calling it Climate Collapse. However, they are leaving out the facts of the case, what is causing the climate change is celestial factors which are cyclical (even the Bible says Earth goes through periodic Earth Changes) AND aggressive GeoEngineering which is being organized by the same people who are trying to get us to pay for the carbon tax. Sound familiar?

This has been in the works for years. Some texts have suggested that carbon emissions would be used as a mechanism to force countries into a new united global framework, such as the UN but more powerful. This super-state would operate more like the European Union but on a global level. This is all speculation but something to keep in mind as we are seeing the 'regulations' rolled out to 'save the planet.'

We are simply stating here that "Climate Change" is a secret term that means something different to the Elite vs. the unenlightened masses, it's not a hoax - that's a fallacious argument meant to distract you from the truth. Climate Change is being created by the Elite - meaning large organizations some of which are NGOs. We cannot document weather modification tools such as high energy directed weapons and other tools, it's far easier to document the metals being sprayed because it's ubiquitous (there are reports it's being done in Moscow - so please explain me how if we are at 'war' this operation is being coordinated?)

This is an obvious issue that we can rally behind, and something we can literally point to and say "Please stop this."

Germany Powering Down
01 August 2022
Ludwigshafen, Germany
Mind dump, sans edit

This does not feel like the Germany I lived in. The Germany I remember was clean, safe, orderly. Today, Germany feels like a Blue State in America. Going broke while preparing to freeze and starve. Still waving rainbow and Ukrainian war flags from the windows.

Germany is running amok. Flinging open the barn doors to invasion. Hitching crucial energy dependence to the Russian wagon after being warned by President Trump, as if adults should have needed to be warned.

And now I am in Ludwigshafen. Home of a massive BASF chemical facility on the Rhein River.

The destruction of Germany has reached advanced stage. Millions of incompatible aliens from afar. The cancer of woke. A long and perpetual series of national errors that mere epic incompetence cannot possibly explain.

BASF is a massive chemical company manufacturing, among other things, nitrogen-based fertilizers using natural gas and air.

And now Nord Stream 1 pipeline trickles natural gas from Russia at roughly 20% capacity. At this rate, Germany likely will run dry in roughly January or February during dead of winter. Nord Stream 2 rests silent and dry.

German winters are cold. Very cold.

More than a century ago, German Chemist Fritz Haber invented the Haber Process for converting natural gas and air into fertilizer. The Haber Process is one of the most important inventions of mankind. Few people seem to realize that the fertilizer generated from the Haber-Bosch Process materially contributes to the population explosion that sustains billions of people who never would have been born.

German Chemist Carl Bosch led pioneering efforts to take the Haber Process to an entirely new level, in Oppau, Germany. Just a short distance from where I write these words.

Bosch took Haber’s Process to stratospheric heights and thus is called the Haber-Bosch Process.

BASF grew massive in large part by using the Haber-Bosch Process to manufacture and sell fertilizer globally. The gargantuan plant sits directly on the Rhein River where ships come and go.

And now, the natural gas flow into Germany has been squeezed. Russia is blamed but that is a lie. The German government had and has at its disposal numerous tools which could be used to mitigate or even evaporate the problem.

Yet it charges forward into the fire. Weimar-Republic-Style. The German Way. The Ragnarök-Process: Transmuting Chance into Catastrophe for which, mythologically, a cold winter is required.

A man who is fulfilling his myth is the epitome of focus.

The cold winter is coming. The Germanic tribes are collecting wood as quickly as possible.

Germany is an authoritarian state. Normal citizens cannot just venture into the woods to collect firewood. This is a job for specialists. And now, Germans are signing up on waiting lists for professional wood collectors to fetch their firewood.

Recently, BASF said they are prepared to sell their natural gas back to the German grid so that Germans do not freeze this winter. ‘Heating islands’ are being prepared to keep the huddled masses from freezing.

These heating islands will offer wonderful opportunity for German tribes to meet and greet Somali tribes.

Imagine the next steps. As BASF and other fertilizer manufacturers run dry, so too will massive amounts of nitrogen-based fertilizer and massive numbers of people will starve to death. And there will be long winters, famine, and war, Ragnarök-style. All these things have been known across the world.

The mind burst is done for today. Good night from Germany.

BASF cuts ammonia production in response to soaring gas prices

27 Jul 2022 | Euan Sadden

Germany’s BASF, one of the world largest fertiliser producers, is to implement fresh cuts to its ammonia production in response to soaring natural gas prices, the company announced on Wednesday.

"We are reducing production at facilities that require large volumes of natural gas, such as ammonia plants," BASF’s chief executive said during a media call following the release of the company’s results for the second quarter 2022.

He added that the higher energy costs would be passed onto consumers and farmers can expect a sharp increase in fertiliser costs next year.

According to the company, the gas bill for its European production sites during the second quarter of 2022 has increased by around €8 million compare to the same period last year.

The company reported that, where possible, it will substitute natural gas for alternative energy sources such as fuel oil while increasing ammonia purchases from external suppliers in order to plug immediate supply gaps.

The company also reports that it expects to be able to sustain operations at its Ludwigshafen production site in the event that the German government activates the “emergency” phase of its response plan to natural gas shortages.

Under the emergency plan, all participants in the German market are obliged to take coordinated action to avoid gaps in supply and to achieve the target storage level of 85% by October 1, 2022.

“Should the German government declare the third and final 'emergency' stage, we currently expect that BASF would still receive sufficient natural gas to maintain operations at the Ludwigshafen site at a reduced load,” BASF chief Martin Brudermuller said, speaking at a press conference on Wednesday.

European gas prices have soared after Russia’s Gazprom announced on Tuesday that it would reduce daily gas deliveries to Germany and other central European countries via the Nord Stream pipeline to 33m cubic metres a day or around 20% of the pipeline’s capacity.

Germany imports approximately 55% of its gas from Russia with most of it being delivered via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.

The statement from BASF follows an announcement from Yara International that it is reducing fertiliser production at several plants and has so far curtailed output amounting to an annual capacity of 1.3 million mt of ammonia and 1.7 mt of finished fertilizer.

Impacts and Repercussions of Price Increases on the Global Fertilizer Market

Executive Summary
Global fertilizer prices are at near record levels and may remain elevated throughout 2022 and beyond. Fertilizer prices account for nearly one-fifth of U.S. farm cash costs, with an even greater share for corn and wheat producers.

Fertilizer accounts for 36 percent of a farmer's operating costs for corn, and 35 percent for wheat. These elevated prices could have implications for crop production in 2022 and 2023.The Russian invasion of Ukraine has exacerbated the already limited fertilizer supply situation and has triggered import-export restrictions that will compound shortage concerns.

The United States is a significant producer of nitrogen and phosphorus yet imports large quantities of potassium-based fertilizers. Although fertilizer prices began increasing in 2021, many U.S. producers were able to avoid the later surge in fertilizer prices caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, because fertilizers for 2022 plantings were purchased in 2021. However, as the Russia-Ukraine war continues, the impact of fertilizer prices could likely take a heavier toll on 2023 agricultural production decisions, domestically and abroad.

This report examines the global fertilizer landscape, with a focus on the three main macro-fertilizer groups—nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK). We look at (1) the major suppliers; (2) the major users; (3) the major exporters and importers; (4) the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine; and (5) discuss how the United States fares relative to other countries.

Introduction
Current fertilizer price increases are reminiscent of the Great Recession period (Chart 1), when prices nearly doubled across all major fertilizer groups at the end of 2007. At that time, fertilizer prices were fueled by rising demand in many emerging markets, increased use of corn and other crops for biofuel production in the United States, Brazil, and Europe, the surge in energy prices, and Chinese fertilizer export tariffs. However, fertilizer price increases during the Great Recession were short-lived once the demand for fertilizer fell, due to a decline in global agricultural trade coupled with slowing economic growth and low commodity prices.

Much like the period of the Great Recession, similar issues have fueled higher fertilizer prices in 2022. Global fertilizer demand remains strong. Some countries have reduced their fertilizer use since 2007, but many have continued to increase their crop nutrient use. While the United States’ share of global fertilizer demand has dropped from 20 percent to 10 percent since 2007, many of the emerging markets have stepped up their use of fertilizers.

Line graph showing the prices per ton of Urea, DAP, and Potash. The prices have spiked to nearly record highs since January of 2020.

The surge in natural gas prices in the middle of 2021, especially in Europe, resulted in a reduction in producing ammonia—a key input of nitrogen fertilizer production. Coal price increases in China also led to a rationing of electricity usage, causing some fertilizer production plants to decrease production. This resulted in China imposing a quota on fertilizer exports, particularly phosphates, until June 2022, citing the need to ensure domestic availability and food security.

China’s suspension of fertilizer exports significantly diminished the global supply.

Numerous factors have worsened existing supply chain disruptions caused by COVID-19. These include export restrictions enacted by Russia and China, plus international sanctions on Belarus and on Russia. Russia and its ally, Belarus, are both major fertilizer suppliers to the global market. Recently, many countries have imposed restrictions on Russian imports. In response, Russia imposed initial restrictions on nitrogen and complex nitrogen fertilizer exports through June 2022. As of May 23, 2022, the Russian government increased the current six-month quotas on some fertilizer exports. Thus, expanding nitrogen fertilizers by 231 thousand tons to 5.7 million tons, and expanding complex or compound nitrogen-containing fertilizers by 466 thousand tons to 5.6 million tons. A decree released on June 1, 2022, codified the Russian government’s intent to maintain fertilizer export quotas through the end of 2022. Supply issues may contribute to elevated fertilizer prices for a prolonged period, as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues.

Fertilizer Supply Outlook
Combined, China, Russia, the United States, India, and Canada produce more than 60 percent of the world’s fertilizer nutrients (Chart 2). Russia and the United States each produce less than 10 percent of global fertilizers, while China produces approximately 25 percent. The degree of concentration in production increases with individual components of the NPK complex. Ten countries produce 71, 86, and 95 percent of N, P, and K fertilizer, respectively.

Nitrogen fertilizers are primarily made from nitrogen in the air and produced by the Haber-Bosch process. The Haber-Bosch process is the main industrial procedure to produce ammonia, combining nitrogen from the air with hydrogen under extremely high pressures and temperatures. The process requires lots of natural gas. Given the availability and price of natural gas, many countries are limited in their capability to engage in such extensive production.

Phosphorus and potassium are mined minerals; such reserves are not available in many countries. China produces more than one-third of the world’s phosphorus, followed by the United States, India, Morocco, and Russia, respectively.

Combined, these five countries produce more than three-quarters of the global supply of phosphorus.

Potassium production is the most concentrated. Two-thirds of all potassium reserves are supplied by only three countries: Canada, Russia, and Belarus. Canada produces approximately one-third of the global potassium supply, while Russia and Belarus combined produce the other third. Because crop production uses these three macro fertilizers in some combination, almost every country relies on obtaining their fertilizers from the few countries with available fertilizers.

Where and How are Fertilizers Used?
Although fertilizer production is highly concentrated, fertilizer use is dictated by soil composition and the crop being produced. As a result, fertilizer use is widely distributed globally (Chart 3). Some countries are heavier users of fertilizers on a per hectare basis than others. Based on the 3-year average data (2017-2019) from the International Fertilizer Association (IFA), China is the largest user of fertilizer, using nearly one-quarter of global fertilizer supplies. India, another large fertilizer producer, is the second largest user. Much of India’s usage is fueled by the Indian Government’s heavy subsidization of fertilizers. The United States accounts for approximately 10 percent of global fertilizer usage with most of it being used in grains and oilseed production. The share of global usage of individual NPK components does not significantly differ from the share of overall fertilizer use.

A country’s fertilizer usage is affected by many factors, including, but not limited to the type of crop, and a fertilizer’s price, availability, and adoption rate. China is the largest consumer of fertilizer on a per hectare basis, consuming more than 340 kilograms. Brazil is the second largest user, consuming 246 kilograms per hectare, nearly twice what is consumed by the United States. Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) remains the smallest consumer of fertilizer, consuming less than 20 kilograms per hectare on average.

Fertilizer usage does not only vary by country and by crop, but also by the method of application (Table 1). Most of the direct application of ammonia happens in North America. Fourteen percent of all U.S. fertilizer application is in the form of direct ammonia, which accounts for nearly one-quarter of all nitrogen fertilizer application. Mexico and Canada apply 11 and 10 percent of their fertilizers as direct ammonia, respectively. Ammonia accounts for 17 and 16 percent of Mexico and Canada’s used nitrogen, respectively. Ammonia is typically used in grain production’s pre-planting stage. Brazil, Argentina, and China have yet to adopt direct ammonia application. Australia’s use of direct ammonia is negligible. China continues to be a heavy user of blended fertilizers, consuming nearly half of its fertilizer in some combination of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.

Major Fertilizer Exporters and Importers
The main fertilizer exporters fall along the line of the highly concentrated producers (Chart 4). The fertilizer sector is vulnerable to disruptions, because there are few exporters. Five countries/regions export more than 60 percent of all fertilizers—Russia, Canada, the European Union, China, and Belarus. Five countries/regions export approximately 60 percent of nitrogen fertilizers—the European Union, China, Russia, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia Five countries/regions export more than 75 percent of phosphorus fertilizers—China, Russia, the European Union, Morocco, and the United States. Five countries/regions export more than 90 percent of potassium fertilizers—Canada, Russia, Belarus, Morocco, and the United States. Russia and Belarus command nearly 25 percent of the global export market share of all fertilizers. Combined, they supply more than one-third of global potassium exports, a vital product that few other countries have at their disposal on which most countries rely to make fertilizer blends.

However, Canada is the largest exporter of potassium fertilizers, accounting for approximately 35 percent of all exports. Disruptions from any of these major exporters may cause significant fertilizer shortages and increases in prices.

Series of pie charts showing global fertilizer exports, 2017-2019. Russia is the largest exporter, followed by Canada, the EU, and China.

Fertilizer imports are normally dictated by a country’s crop production area, and the type of crops being produced. A country’s blending facilities influences its imports, since it needs nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to manufacture blended fertilizers. Large crop producing areas—such as Brazil, Canada, and Mexico—heavily depend on imported fertilizers; Brazil, Canada, and Mexico each import more than 60 percent of their fertilizer. The United States imports nearly 20 percent of all its fertilizer, despite producing a significant amount of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers. Much of its imports are potassium-based fertilizers, but it also imports nitrogen and phosphorus. Some of these imports are likely being used by manufacturing and blending facilities to make compound fertilizers, some of which are re-exported (Chart 5).

Except for the aforementioned countries, the rest of the world imports approximately 25 percent of its fertilizer. The relatively small volume of imports is likely due to two factors. First, most of the countries in the ‘rest of the world’ category have low fertilizer application rates. In comparison, on a per hectare basis, Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) uses 7 percent of the fertilizer used by the United States and 5 percent of the fertilizer used by China. Second, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Iran are in the top ten global nitrogen producers, while Morocco is a leading phosphorus producer.

Russia and Belarus play critical roles in the global fertilizer market, accounting for nearly 20 percent of global exports. Mexico and Brazil receive more than 25 percent of their imports from Russia and Belarus—a considerable dependency. The United States purchases 14 percent of its imported fertilizer from Russia and 3 percent from Belarus. Because Russia and Belarus are two of the limited suppliers of potassium-based fertilizers, economic sanctions on Russia and direct sanctions on Belarusian potash are negatively impacting the global potash supply.

Two stacked bar charts showing fertilizer import dependence. The first shows the comparison of imports and domestic production by country, with Brazil, Canada, and Mexico relying heavily on imports. The second shows the total imports of fertilizer from Russia and Belarus to major countries, with Brazil, Mexico, and Indonesia getting more than 20% of their imports from Russia and Belarus.

Impact of Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine
The geopolitical conflict between Russia and Ukraine is impacting global supply of fertilizers and food. Russia originally imposed restrictions on nitrogen, phosphate, and potash fertilizer exports until June 2022, effectively removing nearly 15 percent of the global supply. Although these restrictions were announced, the actual imposition of the restrictions is unclear, because Russia stopped publishing trade data. According to Trade Data Monitor, there are no records of fertilizer exports from Russia since January 2022. However, many countries, including the United States and Brazil, have reported fertilizer imports from Russia through April 2022. The uncertainty surrounding Russia’s fertilizer supply will likely cause prices to remain elevated until the Russia-Ukraine war ends, because ramping up fertilizer production takes an average of three to five years if the necessary reserves are available. However, phosphate and potash reserves are limited in several countries.

Some countries have imposed import restrictions as a part of their sanctions on Russia. On April 8, the European Union imposed quotas on importing certain fertilizers as a part of a package of sanctions. Although these sanctions will not take effect before July 2022, they are likely to maintain and increase pressure on the global fertilizer market. The United States has also imposed restrictions on Russia, restricting access to pipeline parts and other inputs that may be vital in their fertilizer production process. However, although the European Union and the United States have some sanctions on Belarusian fertilizers, the United States has no direct sanctions on Russian fertilizers.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has resulted in a halt in Ukrainian fertilizer production. Although Ukraine is a relatively small fertilizer producer, according to the International Fertilizer Association, it produced 1.58 million metric tons of fertilizer in 2019 and supplied more than 75 percent of its domestic nitrogen consumption. In addition, in 2021, 65 percent of Ukrainian imported fertilizers came from Russia and Belarus. Although Ukrainian farmers continue to plant crops in 2022, their available fertilizers were mainly purchased in 2021. Given Ukraine’s position as a major grain and oilseed exporter, fertilizer shortages could further decrease Ukrainian production, which would have impacts on global food security.

Implications of Fertilizer Price Increases for the United States and the World
The increase in fertilizer prices has strained U.S. producers and in other countries. While the United States produces a significant amount of nitrogen and phosphorus, it imports a significant amount of fertilizer, especially potassium fertilizer. However, the global shortage of fertilizer is likely to keep fertilizer prices elevated in the United States.

Although fertilizer prices began rising in 2021, many U.S. producers were able to avoid the surge in fertilizer prices, because the fertilizers used for this year’s planting season were purchased in 2021. Cases in which fertilizer was purchased in 2022, many producers had to appropriately adjust their fertilizer mixes to match the planted crop acreage, minimizing their fertilizer expenditures. Some producers may have increased their soybean, acreage planting because soybeans require less fertilizer. This is because soybeans have a natural nitrogen fixing capability. The decision also reduces the acreage necessary to plant corn and other grains. Nitrogen fertilizer tends to be used for corn and other grains more so than other row crops. In response to high input costs, some producers may have chosen to reduce the overall acreage planted, while others chose to maintain acreage but change crop mix or modify other practices. Given the current relatively high prices of commodities—corn, wheat, and soybeans—reasonable profit margins are possible, despite the high input (fertilizer) prices.

Producers in other countries are faced with similar decisions as the United States. Brazil has already experienced a 15-percent year-over-year reduction in first quarter 2022 fertilizer imports. This could negatively impact its second corn crop production for 2022. The SSA countries have already seen a reduction in their fertilizer use due to the short supplies, low stocks, and high prices. The SSA countries already have very low fertilizer application rates. Reducing these rates further could negatively impact crop yields, threatening food security for some of the more vulnerable populations.

The global outlook for 2023 may be even more dire. As the Russia-Ukraine war continues and the supply of fertilizer remains limited, high prices are likely to have a more profound impact on 2023 planting decisions. Producers in the United States may be able to increase production, despite commodity prices remaining high, but will have to grapple with the expectedly high input prices for commodities.

Deadly Positive Feedback Loops during Food Crisis
02 August 2022
Ludwigshafen, Germany

This is one of the positive feedback loops occurring in food-shortages and famine. When people steal too much, farmers stop growing. High prices lead to real food shortages lead to critical mass: famine. Famine creates famine.

In famine, you own nothing you cannot protect or hide. Governments typically become the worst gangsters.

Dutch Farmers Have Stepped Up Their Game, They’re Taking Their Protests to Another Level

BY RHODA WILSON ON JULY 29, 2022 • ( 14 COMMENTS )

On Wednesday, Dutch farmers sent a clear message to their government. They will not acquiesce. They will not give up their land. The farmers are protesting because the Netherlands government wants to impose new climate goals of reducing nitrogen output by 2030, which will force farmers out of business.

“We the Dutch Farmers are fighting for our future, and yours as well: without farmers, there is no food,” their FundFreely page notes.

Speaking to Newsmax earlier this week, former Principal Deputy Assistant at the US Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) Mandy Gunasekara said: “[The Dutch government] have sold out to a very extreme environmental agenda that pushes really bad outcomes. The reality is that what the Netherlands is doing this is a recipe for famine.”

Dutch farmers stepped up their protests on Wednesday by dumping manure and garbage on highways and setting fires alongside roads. The latest demonstrations came a day after a government-appointed mediator sent invitations to farmers’ organisations to discuss with the country’s ruling coalition ways of reducing nitrogen emissions.

A couple of weeks ago, Dutch political commentator and legal philosopher Eva Vlaardingerbroek told Breitbart that her homeland is being used as a “pilot” for the Great Reset agenda. On Tuesday, Vlaardingerbroek discussed the Dutch farmer protest on GB News. “Even more so than health, controlling the food supply is probably the best way you can control people,” she said.

Yesterday, I read in a Facebook post that they are attempting to list Joshua trees as endangered based on "climate change." If they are successful, this will open the door for environmentalists to lock up land and resources across the US.

Good Vs. Bad News: Ukrainian Grain Has Set Sail, But Unrest Could Limit a New Crop
“There are still more questions than answers, but we did get a vessel out the door,” says Dan Basse, president of AgResource Company.

“There are still more questions than answers, but we did get a vessel out the door,” says Dan Basse, president of AgResource Company.(Farm Journal)

By SARA SCHAFER August 2, 2022

For the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine, a ship with grain left Odesa on Aug. 1. The ship, the Razoni, was carrying 26,527 metric tons of corn, said the United Nations.

The vessel had been stuck in port since Feb. 18, before the start of the war. Its passage was part of the U.N.-backed deal between Russia and Ukraine signed in July to resume exports of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.

“There are still more questions than answers, but we did get a vessel out the door,” says Dan Basse, president of AgResource Company. “At least we know we have a corridor.”

Listen to Dan Basse discuss the situation in Ukraine with AgriTalk’s Chip Flory:

Audio on website 12:00 min

The shipment occurred a day after Oleksiy Vadatursky, the multi-millionaire owner of Nibulon, was killed, along with his wife, Raisa Vadaturska, during Russian shelling of Mykolaiv.

“He was the founder of Nibulon, which is the largest private grain company and exporter within Ukraine,” Basse says. “They were clients of ours, and I’d met him several times. It's such a sad day. The Russian rocket came into his bedroom in the dark of night. So, to believe he wasn’t targeted, I think would be a misnomer.”

More Vessels to Ship?
This current export agreement between Russia and Ukraine needs to be renewed every 120 days, Basse says. His estimates show there are around 55 vessels ready to ship out.

“If you move out just one vessel per day, it will take half of the current agreement just to get the stranded vessels out,” he says. “Plus, when you're only moving during the daytime and not at nighttime, the chances of getting a lot of grain out the door are not that great.”

To add to the complexity, Basse says grain companies are nervous about standard operation after the attack on Nibulon’s owner.

“We have a lot of other grain companies in Ukraine saying, ‘I don't want to put my people in harm's way.

Do I need to have my managers or operators sleeping in different hotels and other places? It's very complex,” Basse says. “There's lots of nerves and emotions; drama is high.”

Growing Crop Concerns
As the battle in Ukraine stretches on, just how many crops are planted, harvested and shipped remains a guess. In May, USDA forecast Ukrainian wheat production to fall 35% year-over-year with corn production down more than 50%.

Ukraine Agriculture

“Normality is a long way down the road for Ukraine and agriculture in general,” Basse says. “The real problem we're having now is trying to understand what the Ukrainian farmer will do with new crop.”

The price of wheat coming off the combine, if you were harvesting today in central Ukraine, would be about $2.70 a bushel, he says. That is up from $2.20 per bushel a few weeks ago, but excessive transportation costs exist to get the grain to port or other locations.

“They will start a new planting season in wheat at the end of August and early September,” Basse adds. “Our discussion with farm clients there is they're not planning on planting any winter wheat. So, what does that mean for the world going forward? And if you don't have a crop going in the ground, by the end of September early part of October, it will create a shortage of world grain.”
