Leftists reacted with fury after Fox News host Tucker Carlson said people who wear masks outside should be mocked and that parents who made their kids wear them were engaging in “child abuse.”

Carlson noted that masks were “purely a sign of political obedience like Kim Il-Sung pins in Pyongyang” and that the only people who voluntarily wear masks outside are “zealots and neurotics.”

He then asserted that the tables should be turned on Biden voters who have been harassing conservatives for almost a year for not wearing a mask in public.
“The rest of us should be snorting at them first, they’re the aggressors – it’s our job to brush them back and restore the society we were born in,” said Carlson.

“So the next time you see someone in a mask on the sidewalk or on the bike path, do not hesitate. Ask politely but firmly, ‘Would you please take off your mask? Science shows there is no reason for you to be wearing it. Your mask is making me uncomfortable,” he added.

The Fox News host went on to call mask wearing “repulsive” while asserting that forcing children to wear masks outside should be illegal.

“Your response when you see children wearing masks as they play should be no different from your response to seeing someone beat a kid in Walmart. Call the police immediately. Contact Child Protective Services. Keep calling until someone arrives,” Carlson said.

“What you’re looking at is abuse, it’s child abuse, and you are morally obligated to attempt to prevent it,” he added.

As expected, Carlson immediately began trending on Twitter, with hysterical leftists hyperventilating over Tucker once again challenging their cult. Many called for the Fox News host to be fired while others ludicrously described him as a “national security threat.”

As we highlighted yesterday, even Dr. Fauci now admits that the risk of vaccinated people spreading COVID outside is “minuscule,” and yet some health professionals are pushing for the mask mandates to be made permanent.

The transmission of COVID-19 outdoors is almost non-existent, making mask mandates merely a political tool of population control.

In a recent open letter to the German government and state premiers, five leading members of the Association for Aerosol Research (GAeF) wrote, “The transmission of SARS-CoV-2 viruses takes place indoors almost without exception. Transmission outdoors is extremely rare and never leads to cluster infections as can be observed indoors.”

The humorless left just doesn’t get Tucker Carlson. After his latest commentary, the left lost it and is calling for his ouster at Fox News. Carlson has a way of mocking their agenda by using sarcasm and humor, but they still don’t get him.

Carlson’s commentary last night called for an end to making people wear masks outside.

Twitter decided to twist Carlson’s words by saying he called for all mask-wearing to end. He only said it was time to push back on OUTDOOR masks.

CNN played parts of Carlson’s commentary (video below) on wearing masks, shaming him for his call to go maskless. They don’t understand that he’s making a point about the outrageousness of wearing a mask when it’s been repeatedly stated that masks do more harm than good.

Carlson isn’t alone. Others are also calling for an end to wearing a mask outdoors:

The former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb is pushing for the United States to ease COVID restrictions. He said the US should “lean more aggressively forward” into lifting lockdowns and restrictions.

This comes as the CDC is expected to release updated guidance on wearing masks outside. Dr. Anthony Fauci finally admitted on ABC News that it’s common sense that going without a mask outdoors exposes you to a very, very low risk of getting COVID. The bigger question was asked by Tucker Carlson tonight. Why has this common-sense move taken so long to announce? Carlson’s call for Americans to take off their masks and turn the tables to take their power back is spot on.

During a Squawk Box interview, Dr. Gottlieb said he believes declining cases is a trend that is “locked in at this point,” and he doesn’t see another surge in COVID.

“I think oftentimes a mistake we make is that we’re quicker to implement these precautions than we are to lift them because we’re worried that once we lift them, we won’t be able to reimplement them. I think we need to lean more aggressively forward and look at ways to try to relax some of the provisions that don’t really make as much sense anymore.”

Gottlieb believes the focus should be on relaxing outdoor mask mandates still enforced in many states:

“I think we should be thinking about lifting mask ordinances outside. I think we should be thinking about lifting limits on gatherings outside and trying to encourage people to go outside now that the weather is warming, take more activities outside in the face of declining risk overall.”

“I think we could feel more assured because they’re being driven by vaccinations and greater levels of population-wide immunity, not just from vaccination, but also from prior infection. There’s been a lot of Americans who’ve had this infection and have a level of immunity from their prior disease.”

Charles Hoffe has been a medical doctor for 28 years in the small, rural town of Lytton in British Columbia, Canada. The town is comprised of many indigenous groups and the “First Nations.”

When Dr. Hoffe was given 900 doses of the Moderna experimental COVID-19 injections, he administered the doses through the Lytton Medical Clinic to those who wanted them.

He chose not to inject himself.

Dr. Hoffe reports that the result of injecting 900 people among the indigenous First Nations community was that 2 people went into anaphylactic shock, one person died, and several others have suffered what appear to be permanent disabilities. He relates how one of his patients is in so much pain now, that she prefers death to life.

By contrast, no one in the community died or became permanently disabled due to the COVID-19 virus for the past year.

Dr. Hoffe reported these adverse reactions by email to the medical personnel in his community who were responsible for the roll-out of the Moderna shots, which included pharmacists, nurses, and doctors in his area, a total of about 18 people he says.

His email expressed grave concern over the side effects he was seeing, and he asked if perhaps they should pause the injections for a while.

He reports that within 48 hours he received a very stern rebuke from his superiors at the Interior Health Authority accusing him of causing “vaccine hesitancy” and that they were going to report him to BC College of Physicians and Surgeons.

They forbade him from saying anything negative about the Moderna shots by issuing a gag order against him.

Dr. Hoffe explains that this is a method of intimidation that is being used against other doctors who have become too afraid to speak out, because the College of Physicians and Surgeons has great authority to shut down doctors’ careers, or heavily fine them.

As he continued to see more injuries the following week, he became very angry about his gag order. He was told that if he had any concerns about the injections that he had to contact the medical health officer in charge of the Moderna roll out.

He did, but when he did not receive a reply, he decided to write an open letter directly to Dr. Bonnie Henry, British Columbia Provincial Health Officer, in direct defiance of his gag order since he made it public.

Dear Dr. Henry,
The first dose of the Moderna vaccine has now been administered to some of my patients in the community of Lytton, BC. This began with the First Nations members of our community in mid-January, 2021. 900 doses have now been administered.
I have been quite alarmed at the high rate of serious side-effects from this novel treatment.
From this relatively small number of people vaccinated so far, we have had:

1. Numerous allergic reactions, with two cases of anaphylaxis.
2. One (presumed) vaccine induced sudden death, (in a 72 year old patient with COPD. This patient complained of being more short of breath continually after receiving the vaccine, and died very suddenly and unexpectedly on day 24, after the vaccine. He had no history of cardiovascular disease).
3. Three people with ongoing and disabling neurological deficits, with associated chronic pain, persisting for more than 10 weeks after their first vaccine. These neurological deficits include: continual and disabling dizziness, generalised or localized neuromuscular weakness, with or without sensory loss. The chronic pain in these patients is either generalised or regional, with or without headaches.

So in short, in our small community of Lytton, BC, we have one person dead, and three people who look as though they will be permanently disabled, following their first dose of the Moderna vaccine. The age of those affected ranges from 38 to 82 years of age.
So I have a couple of questions and comments:

1. Are these considered normal and acceptable long term side-effects for gene modification therapy? Judging by medical reports from around the world, our Lytton experience is not unusual.
2. Do you have any idea what disease processes may have been initiated, to be producing these ongoing neurological symptoms?
3. Do you have any suggestions as to how I should treat the vaccine induced neurological weakness, the dizziness, the sensory loss, and the chronic pain syndromes in these people, or should they be all simply referred to a neurologist? I anticipate that many more will follow, as the vaccine is rolled out. This was only phase one, and the first dose.
4. In stark contrast to the deleterious effects of this vaccine in our community, we have not had to give any medical care what-so-ever, to anyone with Covid-19. So in our limited experience, this vaccine is quite clearly more dangerous than Covid-19.
5. I realize that every medical therapy has a risk-benefit ratio, and that serious disease calls for serious medicine. But we now know that the recovery rate of Covid-19, is similar to the seasonal flu, in every age category. Furthermore, it is well known that the side effects following a second shot, are significantly worse than the first. So the worst is still to come.
6. It must be emphasised, that these people were not sick people, being treated for some devastating disease. These were previously healthy people, who were offered an experimental therapy, with unknown long-term side-effects, to protect them against an illness that has the same mortality rate as the flu. Sadly, their lives have now been ruined.
7. It is normally considered a fundamental principal of medical ethics, to discontinue a clinical trial if significant harm is demonstrated from the treatment under investigation.
8. So my last question is this: Is it medically ethical to continue this vaccine rollout, in view of the severity of these life altering side-effects, after just the first shot? In Lytton, BC, we have an incidence of 1 in 225 of severe life altering side-effects, from this experimental gene modification therapy.

I have also noticed that these vaccine induced side effects are going almost entirely unreported, by those responsible for the vaccine rollout. I am aware that this is often a problem, with vaccines in general, and that delayed side-effects after vaccines, are sometimes labelled as being “coincidences”, as causality is often hard to prove. However, in view of the fact that this is an experimental treatment, with no long-term safety data, I think that perhaps this issue should be addressed too.
Furthermore I have noticed, that the provincial vaccine injury reporting form, which was clearly designed for conventional vaccines, does not even have any place to report vaccine injuries of the nature and severity that we are seeing from this new mRNA therapy.
It is now clearly apparent with medical evidence from around the world, that the side-effect profiles of the various gene modification therapies against Covid-19, have been vastly understated by their manufacturers, who were eager to prove their safety.

Interior Health (IH) is reassuring Lytton and area residents about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines, after a physician in that community shared a letter in which he claimed that the death of a Lytton resident was linked to the Moderna vaccine.
In a letter to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry dated April 5, Dr. Charles Hoffe claimed that there had been “numerous” allergic reactions — including two cases of anaphylaxis — among people in Lytton and area who had received the Moderna vaccine. He also claimed that three people were exhibiting “ongoing and disabling” neurological deficits.
Hoffe also claimed that the death of a 72-year-old patient with COPD, 24 days after the man was vaccinated, was “presumed” to be vaccine-induced. The physician did not produce any evidence to prove that any of the events resulted from the vaccine.
“It has been a challenge for us to investigate this thoroughly and take reports seriously,” says Dr. Carol Fenton, Medical Health Officer with IH. In a written statement issued on April 14, Fenton says that “There have been no deaths or lasting adverse reactions connected to the Moderna/Pfizer vaccines, or any COVID-19 vaccine, in Lytton, Interior Health, or B.C. at this time.”
The statement adds that IH knows unequivocally that the vaccines are safer than COVID-19 itself, and that the vaccines have been demonstrated to be safe and effective through all levels of clinical trials.
“There is a detailed process to review all adverse effects following immunizations, and all serious events are recorded and reported to the provincial and national level to monitor for safety signals that may be missed at the local level. With the information we have from the vaccine roll-out so far, the COVID-19 vaccines are very safe.”
Fenton tells the Journal that while there will always be some variations between medical practitioners, when it comes to the safety of vaccines it is important to look at consensus-based reports from those who are trained in the field.
“These people are the experts of the experts,” she says. “I can answer most vaccine questions, but I don’t consider myself to be an expert in vaccines. The decisions and analyses are defined by people with the skills and expertise to parse through the information we have.”
The immunization clinics being run by IH have trained vaccinators on site to monitor for and respond to allergic and anaphylactic reactions, which are rare, but can occur with any vaccine or medication.
“The safety of people in Lytton, Nlaka’pamux, and Northern St’at’imc Nations and all communities is the top priority, and our recommendation is that all individuals should get immunized when they are eligible,” says the statement. (Full article here.)

Dr. Gottlieb Slams "Byzantine" CDC Reopening Guidelines, Says "More Flexibility" Needed

For more than a year now, former FDA head Dr. Scott Gottlieb has provided analysis and (occasionally) criticism of the federal government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. But in recent weeks, Dr. Gottlieb, who led the FDA during the first two years of the Trump Administration, has sounded increasingly critical of the Biden Administration. First, he pushed for the CDC to end its requirements on outdoor masks, arguing that the agency had waited too long already. No sooner did an editorial penned by Dr. Gottlieb appear in WSJ than President Biden scheduled a press conference to announce the change.

The good doctor has also warned that President Biden's projections to have the vast majority of American adults fully vaccinated by the end of the summer was far too rosy, and failed to account for the large number of young people refusing to take the vaccine altogether.

But during one of his regular appearances on CNBC's "Squawk Box", Dr. Gottlieb warned Thursday that the CDC and FDA need to further relax certain aspects of their COVID-19 restrictions, or risk sacrificing their credibility in the eyes of the public

"The challenge is if we don't lift restrictions with the same speed as we imposed them we lose credibility...because the public will be wondering if this is a one-way street. We have to be willing to lift the mask ordinances completely and I think the risk to the CDC as an institution is that they lose relevancy and that people stop listening to them," Dr. Gottlieb said.

The doctor also warned American businesses not to wait for the CDC to tell them that it's safe to stop wearing masks in the office and other behavioral guidelines during the period between when most American workers are already back in the office (at least part time) but new cases continue to be reported.

"If businesses are waiting for prescriptive guidance from the CDC...I think they ought to think twice and maybe try to develop guidelines on their own or it will look like the guidelines the CDC gave to summer camps which are byzantine and hard to follow," Dr. Gottlieb warned.

"I think there's going to be pockets of vulnerability, there are pockets in the country where vaccination rates are lower...there's going to continue to be these hot spots across the country it's a big diverse nation..." Gottlieb added.

"Guidance for the nation as a whole should be to give more flexibility to individuals to go out without some of these restrictions that we had in place during the peak of the epidemic."

On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In,” White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci stated that the level of infection is high enough that both he and the CDC “would feel very uncomfortable” saying children can go out unmasked and “You want to keep getting those numbers down. That’s why we have children wearing masks when they’re outside until they can get vaccinated.”

Fauci said, “I think it’s the same context that we just discussed about the level in the community. Right now, there’s a level high enough that the CDC would feel very uncomfortable, as do I, about saying, no problem, let the kids go out without masks. Border crossers who tested positive for the Chinese coronavirus are continuing to travel into the United States after being released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the New York Times reports.

A report by the Times notes that President Joe Biden’s administration is still not testing border crossers for coronavirus even as they are released into the U.S. interior. Instead, DHS is only testing border crossers who have obvious coronavirus symptoms.

Many border crossers who test positive are skipping out on their quarantine and boarding buses and getting on planes to travel inside the U.S. interior.
The Times reports:

Migrants who have a positive result are transferred to a shelter operated by the city. Others spend a night or two at the respite center and then board planes or buses to their destinations around the United States. Some of them could well have infections contracted in Border Patrol facilities that did not register on tests during the brief time they spent at the respite center, immigrant advocates warned, and could unknowingly expose others as they travel to join friends and family elsewhere in the country. “They want to leave,” she said, “and if they realize, ‘Hey, I can just take a taxi from this hotel back to the bus station and get out of there,’ then they’ll do it.” [Emphasis added]

DHS officials confirmed to the Times that five percent of single adult and family border crossers tested positive for the coronavirus after the agency released them into the U.S. interior since the beginning of March.

Likewise, about 12 percent of all Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) in DHS custody have tested positive for the coronavirus.

In other areas, the positive rates are soaring. From April 7 to April 15 in southern California, 15 percent of border crossers released into the U.S. interior tested positive for the coronavirus. An official with shelter services for UACs told the Times that 1-in-5 migrant children are testing positive for the coronavirus when they arrive at the facilities.

After a border crosser tests positive for the coronavirus — either in DHS custody, because they showed obvious symptoms, or following their release by DHS — they are put up in hotel rooms or shelters to quarantine for 10 days at most.'

The Times reports that hundreds of border crossers are being housed in each of the hotels where they are placed after testing positive. In Holtville, California, for instance, roughly 200 border crossers were quarantining at one time — many from Cuba, Brazil, Ecuador, and India.

For months, Breitbart News has chronicled the Biden administration’s insistence on releasing tens of thousands of border crossers into the U.S., many of whom end up testing positive for the coronavirus afterward and keep traveling into the nation’s interior.

Last week, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against DHS, alleging that the administration is creating a coronavirus crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border and potentially infecting Americans with the virus by exempting border crossers from testing and quarantine requirements that Americans are subjected to.

The Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Title 42 order, the only border control left in place by the Biden administration from former President Trump, has allowed federal immigration officials to quickly detain and return border crossers to their native countries.

As Breitbart News reported in March, though, top DHS officials have urged Biden to use Title 42 authority less and less in an effort to eventually phase out its use, which experts have said would cause an unprecedented level of illegal immigration and a massive public health crisis at the southern border.

Democrats for months have asked Biden to stop using Title 42 and instead release all border crossers into the U.S., even without coronavirus tests, to spare foreign countries from the virus’s spread. This month, Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX) requested Biden end Title 42 use.

While the mainstream media has, by and large, dismissed the theory that SARS-CoV-2 was created and leaked from a high-security biocontainment lab in Wuhan, China, a number of high-ranking U.S. officials are sticking to it, and there’s probably good reason for this.

On the whole, if the virus was actually a natural occurrence, a series of improbable coincidences would have had to transpire. Meanwhile, a series of highly probable “coincidences” point to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) being the most likely source, and to dismiss them as a whole simply doesn’t make sense.

Media Struggle to Prop Up Unproven Zoonotic Theory

I first mentioned that the outbreak had the hallmarks of a laboratory escape in an article we posted well over a year ago, February 4, 2020. On the upside, some members of the media are now finally starting to inch toward more honest reporting on this — probably because U.S. officials keep leaning that way.
That doesn’t mean some aren’t still trying to defend the official narrative. Take The New York Times, for example. The original headline of its March 26, 2021, article about Dr. Robert Redfield, former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, read: “Ex-CDC Director Favors Debunked Covid-19 Origin Theory.”1

Three days later, that headline was toned down to: “The CDC’s Ex-Director Offers No Evidence in Favoring Speculation That the Coronavirus Originated in a Lab,”2 with a correction notice noting that the earlier headline “referred incorrectly to a theory on the origins of the coronavirus. The theory is unproven, not debunked.”

Well, the truth is, all other theories are equally unproven — and are riddled with far more holes. The theory that the virus arose through natural mutation, for example, looks like Swiss cheese in comparison to the lab-leak theory.

In a February 16, 2021, article3 in Independent Science News, molecular biologist and virologist Jonathan Latham, Ph.D., and Allison Wilson, Ph.D., a molecular biologist, reviewed the evidence for a laboratory origin and the reasons why a zoonotic origin “will never be found.” I also summarized their review in “How We Know SARS-CoV-2 Leaked From a Chinese Lab.”

The half-baked idea brought forth by the World Health Organization’s investigative team, that the virus somehow naturally evolved in some unknown part of the world and then piggy-backed into Wuhan on top of frozen food, is held together by even fewer facts.

Among the more compelling “coincidences” that hint at lab-origin are the facts that the WIV has admitted storing and working with bat coronaviruses collected significant distances away from the lab, and that it’s the only biosafety lab in China that studies human coronaviruses. These viruses include RaTG13,4 the closest known ancestor to SARS-CoV-2, obtained from miners who fell ill with severe respiratory illness after working in a Mojiang mine in 2012.

WHO COVID Report ‘Totally Flawed’
In a March 30, 2021, opinion piece in The Washington Post,5 Josh Rogin accurately points out that the WHO’s report6 on the origin of SARS-CoV-2 is so flawed, “a real investigation has yet to take place.” We simply cannot count that report as the result of a true investigative effort.

“DETERMINING THE ORIGIN OF THE SARS-COV-2 VIRUS SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS,” HE WRITES.7 “IT IS A FORENSIC QUESTION, ONE THAT REQUIRES THOROUG

H INVESTIGATION OF ALL POSSIBLE THEORIES, AND ONE THAT SHOULD ENCOMPASS BOTH THE SCENARIO THAT THE VIRUS JUMPED FROM ANIMALS TO HUMANS IN NATURE AS WELL AS ONE RELATED TO HUMAN ERROR IN A WUHAN LAB.

BUT A FATALLY FLAWED INVESTIGATION BY THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION AND CHINESE OFFICIALS AND EXPERTS ONLY MUDDIES THE WATERS, AND IT PLACES THE WHO FURTHER AT ODDS WITH THE U.S. GOVERNMENT AND THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION.”

As noted by Rogin and many others, the investigation was far from independent and transparent, as China was allowed to select its members, who then relied on their Chinese counterparts when it came to data collection. It’s no surprise then that this team decided the natural origin theory is the most credible, while the lab-accident theory is summarily dismissed as unworthy of further consideration and study.

In a March 25, 2021, CNN interview,8 Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated, “We’ve got real concerns about the methodology and the process that went into that report, including the fact that the government in Beijing apparently helped to write it.” Rogin adds:9

“SPECIFICALLY, DECLASSIFIED U.S. INTELLIGENCE, CONFIRMED BY BLINKEN’S OWN STATE DEPARTMENT,10 ALLEGES THAT THE WIV WAS CONDUCTING UNDISCLOSED RESEARCH ON BAT CORONAVIRUSES, HAD SECRET RESEARCH PROJECTS WITH THE CHINESE MILITARY, AND FAILED TO DISCLOSE THAT SEVERAL LAB WORKERS GOT SICK WITH COVID-LIKE SYMPTOMS IN AUTUMN 2019.”

Someone’s Not Telling the Truth
According to the WHO report, the labs “were well-managed, with a staff health monitoring program with no reporting of COVID-19 compatible respiratory illness during the weeks/months prior to December 2019.” “In other words, the WHO is saying the U.S. intelligence is wrong,” Rogin writes.11

Not a word is mentioned in the report about U.S. government claims that the WIV engaged in the very research required to create a novel coronavirus with the specific affinity to infect human cells.

Recently, Shi Zhengli, who heads bat coronavirus research at the WIV spoke at a Rutgers University seminar, calling the WIV’s research “open“ and ”transparent.” Former deputy national security adviser Matthew Pottinger disagrees. In an interview with Lesley Stahl on 60 Minutes, he said:12

“THERE WAS A DIRECT ORDER FROM BEIJING TO DESTROY ALL VIRAL SAMPLES — AND THEY DIDN’T VOLUNTEER TO SHARE THE GENETIC SEQUENCES. THERE IS A BODY OF RESEARCH THAT’S BEEN TAKING PLACE, CONDUCTED BY THE CHINESE MILITARY IN COLLABORATION WITH THE WIV, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT.

WE’VE SEEN THE DATA. I’VE PERSONALLY SEEN THE DATA. WE DON’T KNOW [WHY THE MILITARY WERE IN THAT LAB]. IT IS A MAJOR LEAD THAT NEEDS TO BE PURSUED BY THE PRESS, CERTAINLY BY THE WHO.”

As noted by Pottinger, Shi published studies showing how bat coronaviruses were manipulated to render them more infectious to humans, and the U.S. government has in the past received reports of safety concerns due to lax standards at the WIV.

“THEY WERE DOING RESEARCH SPECIFICALLY ON CORONAVIRUSES THAT ATTACH TO THE ACE2 RECEPTORS IN HUMAN LUNGS JUST LIKE THE COVID-19 VIRUS,” POTTINGER TOLD STAHL.13 “IT’S CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE. BUT IT’S A PRETTY POTENT BULLET POINT WHEN YOU CONSIDER THAT THE PLACE WHERE THIS PANDEMIC EMERGED WAS A FEW KILOMETERS AWAY FROM THE WIV.”

US State Department Suspects Lab Leak
In a March 21, 2021, interview with Sky News Australia,14 David Asher, former lead investigator for the U.S. State Department’s task force that looked into the origins of COVID-19, also stated that the data they collected “made us feel the Wuhan Institute was highly probably the source of the COVID pandemic.”

According to Asher, three workers at the WIV who worked with the RatG13 coronavirus — the closest relative to SARS-CoV-2 identified to date — appear to have actually been the first cluster of cases of COVID-19. They fell ill with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 as early as October 2019. At least one of the workers required hospitalization.

He also pointed out there is evidence in the genetic sequence of SARS-CoV-2 suggesting it’s been synthetically altered. It has the backbone of a bat coronavirus, combined with a pangolin receptor and “some sort of humanized mice transceptor.” “These things don’t naturally make sense,” Asher said, adding that experts around the world agree that the odds of this configuration occurring naturally is “very low.”

Another troubling indicator that something was amiss at the WIV was the Chinese government’s taking down of a WIV database in September 2019. According to the Chinese, this was done because of “thousands of hacking attempts.”

Gates Helps Launch Drive for Global Vaccine Distribution

(Associated Press) A new mass fundraising campaign aims to inspire 50 million people around the world to make small donations to Covax, the international effort to push for equitable global distribution of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Called Go Give One, the campaign was launched Wednesday by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the WHO Foundation and corporate, religious, and world leaders.

The campaign will contribute to the $3 billion in Covax funding needed to vaccinate almost 30 percent of people in 92 low-income countries sometime next year. That support will come from donors like those who contribute to the Go Give One campaign as well as cost-sharing agreements.

Meanwhile, the $6.3 billion that’s so far been committed to Covax has come primarily from global governments, in addition to the World Health Organization, Unicef, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

Go Give One aims to mobilize small-dollar donors around the world to give roughly $10 each toward the cost of COVID-19 vaccines — which are priced at about $5 a shot. The specifics of the campaign are still being ironed out, organizers said. The global campaign will collaborate with public health-care systems and individual mass vaccination sites to advertise the campaign.

Organizers also plan to involve businesses through workplace giving campaigns and promotions on corporations’ social-media platforms. Facebook has also pledged to host a fundraising campaign for the effort and match as much as $5 million contributed through the platform.

Gavi and Unicef are already appealing for donations from individuals to support Covax, and some donors have launched their own campaigns on crowdfunding platforms. Go Give One, however, aims to jump-start a unified effort that can be replicated around the world, said Anil Soni, chief executive of the WHO Foundation. It will aim to provide companies with a simple giving platform that they can share with employees and customers.

The approach is similar to previous cross-sector campaigns to fund HIV treatment, when donors contributed small sums to provide medication to HIV-positive individuals. Soni, who spent years working at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and later the Gates Foundation and the Clinton Health Access Initiative, says those campaigns showed the difference one person can make in a global crisis.

“It was that individual engagement that caused collective action that caused governments to do their part,” he said.
Equitable access to the vaccine is essential to ending the pandemic, Soni stressed, and one of the goals of the Go Give One campaign is to remind people who are able to get vaccinated that others still lack access. While the pace of vaccination has slowed in the United States, Soni expects vaccinations to continue for some time.

“There is a bifurcation of the world in which there are privileged communities where people are getting vaccinated, particularly in wealthy countries, and then there’s low-income countries and low-income communities … where vaccine access is absolutely not available,” Soni said.

After a year of lockdown, loss, and disconnection, vaccination will be an emotional experience for many people — and they’ll have a 15-minute observation period to sit and drink that feeling in.

“What’s been generated from that moment so far is millions of selfies,” Soni said. “We haven’t given people the opportunity — while they’re sitting, waiting, and really basking in this moment of hope — to do something for someone else.” Go Give One aims to change that.

100 Percent Fed Up reports – During her speech at the Health and Freedom Conference in Tulsa, Dundas shared a video of her incredible appearance before the Orange County Board of Education. The outspoken freedom fighter blasted Orange County Health Care Agency Director Dr. Clayton Chau and Orange County Schools Superintendent Al Mijares for trying to “find a way to sidestep and entirely remove informed parental consent for the COVID vaccine. Dundas accused them of trying to “turn Orange County Schools into vaccine centers.”

Dr. Chau was recently forced to shelve his proposal for the county’s digital COVID-19 vaccine verification plan, which he claimed would likely be in the form of a QR code that could be scanned. Dr, Chau was forced to put his plan on the back burner after the public became outraged over privacy and tracking issues related to his vaccination verification plan.

The outspoken human rights attorney continued, “The COVID-19 vaccine is an experimental medical protocol authorized under the emergency use authorization act, and as such, you cannot mandate it for anyone, nor can you sidestep informed consent.” She explained, “There’s a reason that kids can’t smoke, drink, drive, have sex, vote, or die for this country, and that’s because the law says they don’t have the capacity to understand those decisions—and that applies here more than ever!”

“Hear me loud, and hear me well—We will not be morphing our school campuses into COVID vaccine centers for delivery of an experimental medical protocol that killed every ferret they had in the study until such time they had to abandon the study,” she told the school board and members of the audience.

Dundas reminded everyone of the last time such a plan to “conduct experimental medical protocols on vulnerable populations” took place. “It was under Joseph Mangala’s direction!” she said, adding, “He was an MD, known as the ‘Angel of Death.’ He was part of the SS. In 1943, he was assigned to Auschwitz where he saw an opportunity to conduct gene research quote ‘focused primarily on children,’ with no regard for the health or safety of the victims!” She added, “This is on the internet. If you don’t believe me, you can Google it!”

Dundas demanded that both individuals involved in the plot to vaccinate the kids without parental consent be immediately censured, and demanded that they immediately resign.

“Dr. Chau and Dr. Mijares, you are hereby on notice. Last week, you appear to have knowingly hatched a plan to sidestep and/or violate international, federal, and state law, not just the Nuremberg Informed Consent language but also the black letter law of the EUA, as well as California State Law, which punishes, and I quote: ‘The willful failure to obtain a subject’s informed consent by imprisonment in county jail for one year or the imposition of a $50,000 fine – or both,’ through the planned insertion of experimental gene-altering protocols onto the very children you were elected and charged with protecting.

“And tonight, we are asking the Orange County Board of Education for an immediate letter of censure to these individuals – and if they don’t resign, for an immediate notice of termination. And that letter also needs to go to the professional boards, because they have no business being in these positions! So help me, God, the People of Orange County will hold this policy to account.”

Tennessee’s local health departments will no longer have the power to enact mask mandates beginning on Wednesday, Republican Governor Bill Lee announced in a press conference Tuesday morning.

The governor’s decision will go into effect through Executive Order 80, which contains a provision that the governor’s office said will both strip the power to enact mask mandates from most health departments and “address economic and regulatory functions” around the state.

“After more than a year of public-led health interventions, we’re in a different season. It’s time to shift our focus now more toward recovery, and not restrictions,” said Lee.

While the governor’s executive order doesn’t affect the six health departments that operate in Tennessee under local instead of state authority — including Davidson County, home of Nashville — Lee said that his office has spoken with officials in each of those counties and told them that the governor wants any mandates to end by May 30.

“We think that will be happening in cities across our state,” he said.

Nashville Mayor John Cooper, a Democrat, announced separately on Tuesday that capacity limitations in the city would be lifted on May 14. The mask mandate for indoor businesses, however, would remain in place, and Cooper did not indicate when it would be lifted.

Lee acknowledged that, while COVID-19 continues to affect Tennessee residents, the novel coronavirus no longer represents a threat that rises to the level of a state-wide crisis. The governor suggested that the positive developments could be attributed to Tennesseans taking personal responsibility and to the availability of new tools for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, including vaccines.

“Above all else, Tennesseans have embraced the idea of personal responsibility, and have allowed us to get in this state from a public health crisis to a managed health issue. For the first time since COVID-19, vaccine has become a reality. It has been made available to everyone who wants it in every single county of this state,” said Lee.

The governor, speaking to reporters in a press conference, emphasized the wide availability of COVID-19 vaccines across the state and encouraged people to get it. “Anyone can get a vaccine today, no appointment necessary. I got a vaccine.

It’s safe, it’s the most effective way to manage our health, and more Tennesseans are doing that every day,” he said.

Lee also said that he was pulling “The Tennessee Pledge,” a set of pandemic guidelines that were issued for businesses across the state earlier in the pandemic. While those business guidelines were never mandatory, the governor said it was important to “retire” them to send a “clear message” that residents “know how to manage their own day-to-day operations without a government playbook.”

The “Tennessee Pledge” was no longer available on the state government’s website as of late Tuesday.

April 27, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — The attorneys general of twelve states have signed a joint letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, calling on the world’s top social networks to do more to suppress negative claims about COVID-19 vaccines.

“The people and groups spreading falsehoods and misleading Americans about the safety of coronavirus vaccines are threatening the health of our communities, slowing progress in getting our residents protected from the virus, and undermining economic recovery in our states,” declares the letter, spearheaded by Connecticut Attorney General William Tong and co-signed by his counterparts in Delaware, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia.

Given “anti-vaxxers’ reliance on your platforms, you are uniquely positioned to prevent the spread of misinformation about coronavirus vaccines that poses a direct threat to the health and safety of millions of Americans in our states and that will prolong our road to recovery,” the law enforcement officials continue.

But Facebook “has not taken sufficient action to identify violations and enforce these guidelines by removing and labelling misinformation and banning repeat offenders.”

Specifically, the attorneys general want Facebook and Twitter to “remove from all their platforms the accounts of prominent ‘anti-vaxxers’ who have repeatedly violated the companies’ terms of service”; “consistently apply misinformation labels and popups on Facebook pages and groups that discuss vaccines or COVID-19”; and to stop allowing so-called “anti-vaxxers” to “skirt its policy of removing misinformation that health experts have debunked, by failing to prevent them from using video and streaming tools like Facebook Live and sites like Bitchute, Rumble, and Brighteon to evade detection.”

Approximately 95.9 million Americans have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 so far, but hesitancy persists among much of the population. A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll found, for instance, that 73% of Americans say they are unwilling to take the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, use of which was temporarily paused due to concerns about blood clots.

While many officeholders and media figures blame online “misinformation” for lingering vaccine hesitancy, considerably less contemplation has been spent on how the government’s own actions contribute to mistrust, from public health officials’ contradictory guidances on every aspect of the pandemic (including masks, lockdowns, and social distancing) to mixed messaging about vaccinated people still potentially transmitting the virus to others.

In addition, COVID vaccine skeptics point to the fact that clinical trials for the currently-authorized COVID-19 vaccines were performed in less than a year, when such trials traditionally take a minimum of two to four years. One of the innovations of the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed was conducting various aspects of the development process concurrently rather than sequentially, but that does not fully account for the condensing of clinical trial phases — each of which can take anywhere from 1-3 years on its own — to just three months apiece.

Vaccine defenders note that the number of deaths reported to have followed the COVID vaccines is an extremely small percentage of the overall vaccine recipients, and that being listed in the VAERS reporting system does not necessarily establish a causal link to the vaccine. But skeptics argue that leaders’ widespread preference for pressuring Americans into compliance and shutting down debate on the subject, as exemplified by the Tong letter, evidences a lack of interest in earning Americans’ confidence by getting to the bottom of those deaths.

As India reports growing numbers of COVID-19 deaths every day, the US and other nations are sending critical supplies while cutting off travel links. But Washington has just taken its first steps toward an evacuation as it warns all Americans still in India that it's time to get out of Dodge.



Bloomberg reports that the US has - via the State Department and local consulates - warned any Americans in the country to start making arrangements to leave as soon as possible, while also advising anybody with travel plans "not to travel to India or to leave as soon as it is safe to do so."



There are still 14 direct daily flights between India and the US, and others that connect through Europe, according to the State Department



It's particularly urgent for Americans to leave since shortages of beds and oxygen at Indian hospitals have led to sick Americans being turned away, according to the State Department. "US citizens are reporting being denied admittance to hospitals in some cities due to a lack of space," the website of the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in India warned in a health alert. "US citizens who wish to depart India should take advantage of available commercial transportation options now." All routine US citizen services and visa services at the US Consulate General Chennai have been canceled.

But before they can return to the US, anybody traveling from abroad - whether they're citizens, or not - must have a COVID-19 test done between three and five days before travel. Those who ahven't been vaccinated should also stay at home and self-quarantine for a week, the embassy urged. Which is why individuals should start working on plans to leave now.

The latest numbers out of India continued to set new records for most cases reported in a single day anywhere in the world. Indian authorities confirmed 379,257 cases over the past 24 hours, while another 3,645 infected patients died, pushing India's death toll further past 200K to 204,800.

New research shows that vaccination dramatically reduces the odds that seniors get hospitalized with COVID-19.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that those aged 65 and older who had received both doses of either the Pfizer or the Moderna vaccine were 94% less likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 than seniors who had not been vaccinated. Seniors who had received only one dose were 64% less likely to be hospitalized.

“COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective, and these real-world findings confirm the benefits seen in clinical trials, preventing hospitalizations among those most vulnerable,” said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky.

In the United States, over 81% of seniors have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and nearly 68% have been fully vaccinated.

The CDC examined hospitalizations in two U.S. hospital networks that include 24 hospitals in 14 states.

Other evidence also shows that the prioritization of seniors during the vaccination campaign has yielded results. A Washington Examiner analysis recently found that in 14 states, COVID-19 cases had fallen 86% among those aged 65, compared to 71% for younger age groups.

Nursing home residents and staff were among the groups targeted in the first vaccination phase. From December to March, cases in nursing homes dropped 96%, according to the industry group American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living.

Stranded In India, Expats Scramble To Escape India's COVID Horror Using Private Jet Loophole

On Saturday, we noted how India's super-wealthy have been in a panic to flee the country's exploding COVID-19 crisis - taking private jets to London before the UK adds their country to its "red list" of restricted pandemic-stricken nations.

Now, AFP reports that Indian expats who live and work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but were on travel to India are desperately scrambling to return to Dubai. Fearing a prolonged flight ban between India and the UAE, the expats are trying to use an exemption granted to private business planes instituted last year during the first wave of the pandemic.

According to the report, "After the UAE shut its airspace to curb the spread of coronavirus in March last year, some residents raised the funds for seats on shared chartered planes that were permitted to fly to Dubai."

India on Thursday reported 379,257 new COVID-19 cases and 3,645 deaths - the most since the pandemic began. To date, India has recorded nearly 18.4 million cases and almost 205,000 dead.

Meanwhile, some 3.5 million Indian expats are estimated to live and work in the UAE.

On Sunday, some 300 weekly commercial flights were suspended in the latest pandemic flight restrictions in one of the world's most busy air corridors - stranding not only low-paid workers on short-term contracts, but also members of wealthy families who traveled to India for holidays, work or medical emergencies.

One Indian businessman living in Dubai, T Patel, is desperately trying to bring his brother's wife and three children back from Bengaluru, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka which has a population approaching 10 million.

"I am exploring the private jet option. It is a lot of money but if I have no other way of bringing them back, then I will go for it," said Patel, who added that he paid $10,500 to get his parents and niece to Dubai - around 20x the cost of regular tickets.

"I waited for two months and finally hired a private jet for $42,000, the cost of which was shared by a few equally desperate residents," he said.

Days before the new travel ban, dozens of charter flights brought passengers from India to Dubai. Charter companies say demand has since surged.

To charter a 13-seat jet from Mumbai to Dubai costs between $35,000 and $38,000 - around 35x the price of a regular ticket. Prices are even higher between other cities. That said, operators are now looking to the government to clarify rules surrounding private planes landing in the UAE.

"Chartered flights need to get approval from the General Civil Aviation Authority and the foreign ministry to operate. But we do not know who is exempted to travel," according to Tapish Khivensra, CEO of Enthral Aviation Private Jet Charter.

According to civil aviation authorities,UAE nationals, diplomats, official delegations and "businessmen’s planes" are excluded from the Sunday ban, as long as passengers adhere to a 10-day quarantine.

Purushothaman Nair, a long-term resident of Dubai, said he was ready to "spend a fortune" to return to the UAE.'

"My wife and I came to India for just 10 days. We have to fly back to Dubai at any cost," he told AFP. "here are many people who are willing to pay up. How can people with business interests and big responsibilities in the UAE afford to stay away for a longer period?" asked the government employee.

"The fear of contracting the virus is a bigger worry."

Another worker, Jameel Mohammed who hasn't seen his young son for more than two years, told AFP: "If I cannot make it in a few weeks, my job is on the line. My employer is already putting pressure on me and asking me to travel to the UAE via other countries."

"I can’t afford that kind of money. But if the choice is between losing my job and borrowing money, I will do the latter and fly back."

CHICAGO (CBS) — Next month, the city of Chicago will offer “Vax Passes.”
They will allow vaccinated people to attend certain concerts and events. More details on how it works are expected in the next few weeks.

Asked about the city’s “Vax Pass” initiative, Mayor Lori Lightfoot said the city is “constantly looking at ways in which we can incentivize folks to get the vaccine.”

“We’re going to be looking at ways in which we can incentivize people to get vaccinated, and do that by looking at preferred seating, preferred admission. So that’s still very much a work in progress, and we’ll have more to say on that in the coming days,” she said.

The mayor said vaccinations among the city’s Black population are still lagging behind every other demographic.

“So we really need – particularly 18 to 44, where we’re seeing the lowest uptake – we need you to get vaccinated. Do it, of course, for yourself; but for your family, for your grandparents,” Lightfoot said. “There’s plenty of opportunity now all over the city to get vaccinated for free – let me emphasize that, for free. So don’t be a bystander. Get in the game. Get yourself vaccinated.”

On Tuesday, Doctor Allison Arwady, head of the Chicago Department of Public Health, said the “Vax Pass” is another way to convince people to get the COVID shot.

“Younger people in particular may be excited about the idea of getting into events for example that might be limited to people who are vaccinated,” Arwady said. “So we’re exploring some possibilities of concerts or events that might not be just youth focus, but would probably have a youth flavor to it. We’re working with some club organizers and others and there will be more information coming.”

Arwady added that the city is working on another vaccine-related initiative called “Vax and Relax” that could provide special offers for people who’ve already gotten their shot.

“Working with the barbershops and beauty salons nail salons. The main incentive, I would hope is to get a vaccine, but if I had the opportunity to get a free haircut or get my nails done in this sort of more of a like let’s celebrate the fact that this is how we are going to get past COVID,” Arwady said.

She added that the outreach to get more people to get the COVID vaccine is to possibly go to where they are.

Thousands of women have reported changes to their monthly cycle after getting the COVID vaccine.

Anne Thompson received her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine April 12, on what should have been the last day of her period.

“I continued to have spotting the entire time. And now two weeks post getting the vaccine, I think it was three days ago, I started my period again,” Thompson said

Her next period came a week a half early, prompting Thompson to wonder if the vaccine had somehow impacted her menstrual cycle.
It’s a question researcher Katherine Lee asked after her own experience.

”I had spotting when I normally don’t have any sort of menstrual symptoms, because I have the Mirena IUD,” said Lee, a postdoctoral research scholar in the Division of Public Health Sciences at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Lee reached out to Kate Clancy, an associate professor of Anthropology at the University of Illinois, who then tweeted about it.

“That tweet was sent February 24th, and I’m still getting, like, every minute an additional 20 notifications, that have some kind of engagement with that thread two months later,” Clancy said.

The overwhelming response prompted the researchers to create a survey, which they posted on social media. In all, 59,000 people have started the survey, describing varying experiences.

“People are reporting some differences in the timing of their cycle,” Lee said. “Some people report much lighter periods and other people report a much heavier period.”

Clancy said researchers have also heard about bleeding and spotting for postmenopausal women.

One woman emailed NBC 5’s Lauren Petty and said she has been menopausal for nine years. She got her first Pfizer dose in March, started bleeding that night, and it continued for 10 days.

“I honestly haven’t had many of my patients complain about any irregularities in their menstruation,” said Dr. Elizabeth Yepez, a gynecologist at Rush University Medical Center.

UK Study Finds Pfizer Vaccine Doesn't Offer "Full Protection" From Mutant COVID Strains

As shortages of COVID-19 vaccine supplies force more countries stretch the time between the first and second vaccine doses to try and vaccinate more people, the latest data out of a UK study of vaccination rates has stumbled on a disturbing finding: the study found that people who have had one dose are still at risk from mutated strains of the virus.

The study, published Friday afternoon in London by Imperial College London and published in the journal Science, examined the immune responses of health-care workers following their first dose of the Pfizer jab.

It found that people who had previously been infected saw significantly enhanced protection against mutant strains of the virus typically referred to as "variants". Those who only received the jab, but weren't previously infected, showed an immune response that was "less strong after a first dose, potentially leaving them at risk from variants." The findings show that those who have received the Pfizer jab aren't "fully protected" from COVID-19 variants.

Professor Rosemary Boyton, Professor of Immunology and Respiratory Medicine at Imperial College London, who led the research, said: “Our findings show that people who have had their first dose of vaccine, and who have not previously been infected with SARS-CoV-2, are not fully protected against the circulating variants of concern. This study highlights the importance of getting second doses of the vaccine rolled out to protect the population.”

Imperial College published the results in full on its website.

Meanwhile, another study released Friday came to a similar conclusion, showing that some patients who have received their first dose still wind up in the hospital with COVID symptoms.

The news appeared to weigh on US stocks, which tumbled to their lows of the session shortly after the news broke. Analysts claimed the study is a problem for the global growth outlook - which has already taken a hit thanks to to the latest data out of China - as countries like Canada aim to stagger doses by months to try and make the most out of limited supplies.


According to the latest data released on Friday, 65% of British adults have already received at least one dose, while 3,736,654 people were vaccinated in the past 7 days. More than 25% of adults in the country, meanwhile, have received both doses. 48,748,962 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have now been administered in the UK, while the US just announced that 100M Americans have now been fully vaccinated.



But the latest study data available suggests that patients who have received only one shot are still vulnerable. Researchers say the findings are reassuring because vaccines are never 100% perfect and failures are expected. But others have said that the most vulnerable patients may be letting their guard down too soon after one vaccine.

The study analyzed a quarter of all hospital patients in England, Scotland and Wales between early December and early April, and is one of the first to look at the impact of vaccinations on the numbers of people subsequently admitted to hospital.

Prof Calum Semple, study leader from the University of Liverpool, told the BBC that this data represented strong real-world evidence of few vaccine failures.

"It's reassuring that the numbers admitted are very, very small - and mostly in those at risk of severe disease," he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Annemarie Docherty, a study co-author and honorary consultant in critical care, warned that this is just the latest sign that patients are assuming they're "safe" immediately after being vaccinated, rather than weeks later.

"It's entirely possible that elderly people will catch coronavirus again and may die," she said.

In the study, 526 people who tested positive for coronavirus were admitted to hospital from 21 days after one vaccine dose, and 113 died - out of more than 3,500 hospitalised patients in the study. The data comes from the ISARIC/CO-CIN study, which has been presented to the government's scientific advisers, Sage, but not yet reviewed by other experts. More complete NHS hospital data is set to be released in due course.

HOUSTON — Houston police said dozens of people were found inside a home in Southwest Houston on Friday.

According to police, initial reports are that more than 90 people were found inside the home in the 12200 block of Chessington Drive, which is just off the Beltway near Highway 69.

The Houston Police Department said the incident was initially reported as a kidnapping but now believes it's a case of human smuggling after making the discovery inside the home.

"This is definitely more of a smuggling thing and not a trafficking thing," Assistant Chief D. B. Edwards said.

According to police, there were no children found inside the home. They said there were about five women and the rest were men. They were found in basic clothing and were all huddled together in two sections of the two-story home. They were not tied up.

Police said those who were found had not eaten in a while, so they provided food and water.

Houston police said there were COVID concerns because several of the people found inside the home reported a loss of taste and smell and some had a fever.

The family that owns the house said one man was renting it and police said neighbors didn't report seeing anything suspicious before the discovery was made.

Biden Mulls Vax Mandate For All US Military After Huge Numbers Refused

President Biden told NBC News in an interview which broadcast Friday that he's mulling ordering all US military personnel to get a COVID-19 vaccine as commander-in-chief. "I’m not saying I won’t" rule it out, he emphasized in the new interview.

This would also mean that anyone wanting to enter military service would have to receive the jab as a requirement to get in, which would likely cause a blow to military recruitment in the near-term. However, he didn't outright say he's ready to pull the trigger on the policy, which if enacted would constitute the largest federal government-ordered mandate in terms of forcing the vaccine on some 1.3 million active duty service members, not to mention over one million more reserve personnel.



Describing the decision as a "tough call" he suggested it was being hotly debated. "I don’t know. I’m going to leave that to the military," Biden told NBC News's Craig Melvin.

"I’m not saying I won’t. I think you’re going to see more and more of them getting it. And I think it’s going to be a tough call as to whether or not they should be required to have to get it in the military, because you’re in such close proximity with other military personnel."

In follow-up to Biden's comments, national security advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed that a DoD-wide vaccine mandate is "something the Department of Defense is looking at in consultation with the interagency process and don’t have anything to add on that subject today."

The whole debate was sparked in earnest when multiple headlines earlier this month took note of the large numbers of military members who were rejecting the vaccine.

For example, one recent USA Today report noted that nearly 40% of US Marines who have been offered a COVID-19 vaccine have refused to recieve it, according to Pentagon figures. And an earlier report in The Guardian described that "Reluctance to be vaccinated for Covid-19 is now rife in the US military, with about a third of troops on active duty or in the national guard refusing to be administered the vaccine."


The Hill notes of the latest numbers as of this week that "Roughly 780,000 service members, or close to one-third of the total force, are partially or fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to the latest Department of Defense numbers."

The broad reluctance among America's military members to receive the jab probably has a lot to do with the vast majority being young, fit, and healthy — obviously far above the average American. And it's clear at this point that this health demographic tends to experience fewer or minor symptoms if they get infected, if any symptoms at all.

Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs Terry Adirim earlier this month tried to combat this mentality among military ranks, however, calling the wealth of anecdotal evidence in the end "not true". But so far it still looks like a large chunk of armed personnel are not convinced that the vaccine is worth getting, hence the Pentagon mulling the mandate.

Majority Of US Companies Will Require Workers To Provide Proof Of Vaccination

It looks like American colleges won't be alone in making vaccination mandatory for any students who want to return to campus next semester. Despite the White House's determination that vaccination shouldn't be mandatory by law, more than 60% of American companies are reportedly leaning toward requiring proof of vaccination from their employees.


According to a new survey from the Rockefeller Foundation, 65% of businesses will offer some kind of incentive for employees to get vaccinated, while 63% said they will require proof of vaccination before workers can return to the office.

Another 35% said disciplinary actions are on the table, including the possibility of termination, for those who refuse vaccines.

The survey, released Thursday, represents the responses of 957 businesses across 24 industries. Most of the respondents were US businesses with 250 employees or more.

Even after employees have returned to the office, testing will remain a critical piece of the safety plan provided by most employers.

Looking ahead, roughly two-thirds of employers are planning to allow employees to work from home full-time through 2021, and 73% intend to offer flexible work arrangements when the pandemic is over. However, 73% of businesses want employees to work from the office at least 20 hours a week.

"This is not just a bubble that goes back to 'normal', there will be some positive flexibility after the pandemic ends and we go back to in-person work," said Mara G. Aspinall, a professor at Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions and one of the authors of the survey.

As far as employee concerns go, most workers said they're mostly worried about their personal health, risk of infection and safety of the workplace. And when it comes to returning to the office, 38% of employees want to return eventually but not immediately and about one quarter said they are reluctant to return at all.

"The pandemic has changed the traditional office environment in many ways, possibly forever, yet a majority of employers are indicating they see real value in employees continuing to interact face-to-face," Nathaniel L. Wade, a co-author of the study who is also affiliated with ASU’s College of Health Solutions. "We really wanted to make sure we’re giving public information to help people make good decisions."

Most employees, about 51%, would prefer to wait until the government or health agencies allow them to return to work, and about 47% said they would return to in-person work when the entire workforce is vaccinated.

April 28, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Nearly half of the 46 people who tested positive for COVID-19 in a Kentucky nursing facility in March had been fully vaccinated against the virus more than four weeks earlier, according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released last week.

Twenty of the 26 COVID-positive residents and four of 18 COVID-positive healthcare personnel had received both doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech two-shot coronavirus vaccine at on-site clinics January 10 and 31, a full month before the outbreak on March 1, making them “breakthrough” vaccinated cases of COVID.

Two additional COVID-positive residents who had been fully vaccinated eight days before the outbreak were excluded from the CDC’s analysis.

When the outbreak occurred, 79 of 83 nursing home residents had been fully vaccinated, including more than 90 percent who had received both Pfizer doses a month earlier. CDC experts insist the vaccine should be fully effective two weeks after vaccination.

Among staff, 61 of 116 (52.6 percent) received both shots a month before the outbreak and another five had received their second injections at a clinic in February.

Data from four unvaccinated residents

No healthcare workers, vaccinated or unvaccinated, were hospitalized or died.

Three residents died. One was fully vaccinated. Two were not, according to the CDC.

These would have been two of only four residents of 83 in the facility who chose not to be vaccinated and there is no indication from the CDC why they declined to be vaccinated.

The CDC report acknowledges that “the health status of residents who declined vaccination might have differed from those who consented to vaccination.” In other words, they may have been extremely ill or frail or in palliative condition near death, although the report does not describe their condition.


Based on the data of four unvaccinated individuals of unknown condition, the researchers led by Alyson Cavanaugh of the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service concluded that unvaccinated residents had three times higher rates of infection as those who were vaccinated residents (75 percent vs. 25.4 percent).

5,800 ‘breakthrough cases’

The other 22 cases would have been counted among the 5,800 American “breakthrough” cases of coronavirus among fully vaccinated individuals reported to the CDC up until April 13, including 74 deaths.

The CDC report did not identify the nursing home in the state of Kentucky where the outbreak occurred in March. In February, in an apparently separate incident, three nuns at St. Walburg convent in Kentucky died and 28 were infected though they had recently received a first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

Prior infection?

“It is a good bet that most, if not all, of the sisters of St. Walburg have been naturally infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus — AND that they were infected at around the time of their first vaccination,” Pennsylvania immunologist Hooman Noorchashm wrote in an open letter to the Sisters of St. Walberg after the incident, imploring them to be tested for infection before taking a second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

“It is my opinion as a physician and immunologist that persons with recent or occult SARS-CoV-2 infections may be at risk of harm from indiscriminate COVID-19 vaccination — especially the elderly and frail with cardiovascular disease,” he said.
Noorchashm suggested that the sisters first have their blood tested for the presence of IgG antibodies and to perform another PCR assay for the virus immediately before any planned vaccination.

“If you are positive for either of these tests, it is my recommendation that you delay your second shots for a minimum of 6–8 months,” he said, though the sisters were scheduled to have their second shots in May.

If blood tests revealed any nuns to have had a recent natural infection, then they would already “almost certainly” be immune and vaccinating those with recent or current natural infections would risk reactivating, or activating, a “potentially deadly inflammatory response in their bodies,” he said.

The CDC report did not consider the possibility of the vaccination campaigns having activated a dormant infection.

Symptomatic index case
The CDC report blames an unvaccinated, symptomatic healthcare worker at the facility for the outbreak and used the incident to highlight the “imperative” that all healthcare personnel, as well as nursing home residents, receive experimental coronavirus vaccines. The vaccines have only been given Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Some media followed with reports that an unvaccinated worker had set off a coronavirus outbreak, “killing 3 residents.”

The CDC report did not explain how a symptomatic healthcare worker was on duty at the facility where it said personnel were screened daily for the coronavirus beginning a year earlier in March 2020 and have undergone twice-weekly SARS-COV2 testing since November 2020. It also did not explain how that person was identified as the “index case” when other vaccinated and unvaccinated workers were infected.

“Despite the overall numbers that occurred during this outbreak, vaccination was associated with a lower risk of being infected, lower risk of developing symptomatic disease, and lower risk of hospitalization and death,” Melissa Brower, a public affairs specialist at the CDC, said in an e-mailed statement. “In fact, vaccination was 86.5 percent and 87.1 percent effective against symptomatic COVID-19 in residents and healthcare personnel, respectively.”

The report estimated vaccine effectiveness against coronavirus infection among residents was 66 percent and among healthcare workers, who had a larger proportion of unvaccinated individuals, was 75 percent.

The researchers acknowledged that its calculation of “hospitalization and death outcomes might be biased” because of the lack of controlling for underlying health conditions.

CHARLESTON, West Virginia, April 29, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) has promised 16-to-35-year-olds “a $100 savings bond to every single one that steps up and takes the vaccine” in an effort to encourage widespread uptake of the jab among the young.

During a Monday press briefing alongside West Virginia’s health officials, Justice announced that the state has now vaccinated a little over 52 percent of its vaccine-eligible population (16 years of age and older), accounting for roughly 767,000 people, mostly middle-aged and above.

Justice explained that he wants to see the percentage of vaccinated residents grow dramatically, and that young citizens are holding the state back from achieving that goal: “One of the things we know that is happening right now, we know for sure that kids — 16 all the way up to 35 years of age — are having a real transmission issue with this disease.”

“Our kids today don’t really probably realize just how important they are in shutting this thing down … we’ve got to do something about this,” he said.

Recognizing the difficulty to “get kids across the finish line with this,” Justice suggested implementing a $100 savings bond incentive for 35-year-olds and under who take one of the experimental coronavirus vaccines available under the Food and Drug Administration’s “emergency use authorization” protocol.

The initiative is to be funded by the money received through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, passed by the U.S. Congress in March 2020 and signed into law by then-President Donald Trump. “We have these dollars available,” Justice said.

The governor issued a warning to West Virginians, saying that “if we continue on the path of 52 [percent vaccinated] then at some point in time we’ll get to 53 or 54; then it will be tougher, and we’ll get to 55 or 56. What’s going to happen then is, every other day, [a health official] is going to be reading names,” alluding to lists of deaths being recorded through lack of vaccinating against COVID-19. “There’s no way around it,” he added.

Justice expressed his fear that as much as 40 percent of his state will decide that “‘we don’t want to take the shot. We just aren’t going to do it.’ And if that be the case, we’ve got 588,000 [people] that are sitting on the side-lines, they’re not taking the shot.”

“So, we are going to be faced with wearing these masks that nobody likes for a long, long, long time,” threatened Justice, before saying that “we’ve got to do something about this,” working the latter phrase into something of a refrain throughout his speech.

Though the billionaire statesman lamented young people in West Virginia not receiving vaccines “as fast as we’d like them to take them,” he did suggest that there are “lots and lots of ways to get there.”

“I’m trying to come up with a way that’s truly going to motivate them — and us — to get over the hump,” Justice added.
“I truly believe that the good ideas that I come up with are coming from the good Lord as I’ve said many times — and I’ll take credit for the bad ones — but I do believe this is a good one.”

Justice claimed to rely upon the current guidance of “all of our health experts,” who advised him that “if we can get to 70 [percent vaccinated] right here, we’ll shut this thing down.”

On account of this advice, the governor estimated that if 80 percent of 16-to-35-year-olds “step up” to take the vaccine, then 275,000 more people will have taken the jab on top of the 767,000 already vaccinated, bringing the total vaccinated population figure to 71 percent in West Virginia.

“If we do that … If we stop it dead in its tracks these masks go away, the hospitalizations go away, the death toll and the body bags start to absolutely become minimal,” Justice promised. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) latest guidelines for vaccinated individuals, however, contradict Justice’s understanding, advising such people to still wear face masks in all indoor venues.

In addition to doling out a financial prize to those who come forward for a vaccine following Justice’s announcement, the governor has pledged to provide the gift retrospectively to those under 35 who received the vaccine before learning of the incentive.

Emboldening his efforts to convince as many people as possible to receive a COVID jab, Justice followed President Joe Biden’s lead, describing the act of vaccinating, as well as keeping U.S. savings bonds, as “patriotic,” even suggesting that young Americans “can always do with an extra dose of patriotism … a real dose of patriotism from the standpoint of a savings bond.”

Additional measures to assist vaccine uptake include paying pharmacies to open later and using social media, “whether its TikTok or Instagram or Snapchat … to be able to target our younger folks.”

Justice, previously a Democrat during the 2016 gubernatorial election cycle, attempted to quell any fears people may have about the numerous reports of side effects emerging after taking one of the available coronavirus vaccines, explaining that “our medical experts are going to tell you over and over … just how safe these vaccines are. They are safe beyond belief; they are safe in every way beyond absolute belief.”

According to Justice, there is little reason for anyone to be concerned about the jabs. “Think about the downside of the vaccination: it’s next to nothing,” he said, downplaying the growing log of debilitating ailments and deaths.

Data recorded in the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), on the other hand, paints a rather more grim picture, with a total of 86,080 adverse events reported to the system until April 16, including 3,186 deaths and 9,405 serious injuries.

Despite this, Justice did not relent, offering young West Virginians “a certificate that is a savings bond that is your part of stepping up, a certificate that is telling you how much you mean to West Virginia, how much you mean to your grandparents and your parents, and all those you are intermingling with in transmitting something that you may not even know that you got.”

Fraud and inaccuracies. I can't tell you how many signed up for the test, showed up and decided to leave and got a call back that they were positive. Also, how many tested negative but had it and others tested positive and never got sick. I wish they would do anti-bodies tests on the PCR's that were positive but didn't get sick. I think for the most part asymptomatic cases were just false positives.

NEW DELHI/MUMBAI (Reuters) - India's total COVID-19 cases passed 18 million on Thursday after another world record number of daily infections, as gravediggers worked around the clock to bury victims and hundreds more were cremated in makeshift pyres in parks and parking lots.

India reported 379,257 new infections and 3,645 new deaths on Thursday, health ministry data showed, the highest number of fatalities in a single day since the start of the pandemic.

The world's second most populous nation is in deep crisis, with hospitals and morgues overwhelmed.

Mumbai gravedigger Sayyed Munir Kamruddin, 52, said he and his colleagues were working non-stop to bury victims.

"I'm not scared of COVID, I've worked with courage. It's all about courage, not about fear," he said. "This is our only job. Getting the body, removing it from the ambulance, and then burying it."

Each day, thousands of Indians search frantically for hospital beds and life-saving oxygen for sick relatives, using social media apps and personal contacts. Hospital beds that become available, especially in intensive care units (ICUs), are snapped up in minutes.

"The ferocity of the second wave took everyone by surprise," K. VijayRaghavan, principal scientific adviser to the government, was quoted as saying in the Indian Express newspaper.

"While we were all aware of second waves in other countries, we had vaccines at hand, and no indications from modelling exercises suggested the scale of the surge."

India's military has begun moving key supplies, such as oxygen, across the nation and will open its healthcare facilities to civilians.

The oxygen crisis is expected to ease by mid-May, a top industry executive told Reuters, with output rising by 25% and transport systems ready to cope.
"My expectation is that by the middle of May we will definitely have the transport infrastructure in place that allows us to service this demand across the country," said Moloy Banerjee of Linde Plc, India's biggest oxygen producer.

Hotels and railway coaches have been converted into critical care facilities to make up for the shortage of hospital beds.

India's best hope is to vaccinate its vast population, experts say, and on Wednesday it opened registration for all above the age of 18 to receive shots from Saturday.

But although it is the world's biggest producer of vaccines, India does not have the stocks for the estimated 800 million now eligible.

Many who tried to sign up for vaccination said they failed, complaining on social media of being unable to get a slot or even to simply get on the website, as it repeatedly crashed.

"Statistics indicate that far from crashing or performing slowly, the system is performing without any glitches," the government said on Wednesday.
More than 8 million people had registered, it said, but it was not immediately clear how many had got slots.

A local official in Mumbai said the city had paused its vaccination drive for three days as supplies were running short, while officials said the worst-hit state of Maharashtra was likely to extend strict coronavirus curbs by another two weeks.

DEATHS LIKELY UNDER-REPORTED
Only about 9% of India's population of about 1.4 billion has received a dose since the vaccination campaign began in January.

However, while the second wave overwhelms the health system, the official death rate is below that of Brazil and the United States.

India has reported 147.2 deaths per million, the Reuters global COVID-19 tracker shows, while Brazil and the United States reported figures of 1,800 and 1,700 respectively.

However, medical experts believe India's true COVID-19 numbers may be five to 10 times greater than the official tally.

At Delhi's Holy Family Hospital, patients arrived in ambulances and private vehicles, some gasping for air as their oxygen cylinders ran out. In the ICU, patients lay on trolleys between beds.

"Someone that should be in the ICU is being treated in the wards," Dr Sumit Ray, head of the unit, told Reuters.

"We are completely full. The doctors and nurses are demoralised, they know they can do better, but they just don't have the time. No one takes a break."

The U.S. State Department issued a travel advisory on Wednesday against travel to India because of the pandemic and advised its citizens to leave the country. Family members of U.S. government employees in India can voluntarily return to the United States, it added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been criticised for allowing massive political rallies and religious festivals which have been super-spreader events in recent weeks.

AID STARTS ARRIVING
India expects close to 550 oxygen generating facilities from around the world as medical aid starts pouring in, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Thursday.

Two planes from Russia, carrying 20 oxygen concentrators, 75 ventilators, 150 bedside monitors, and 22 tonnes of medicine, have arrived in Delhi.

The United States is sending supplies worth more than $100 million, including 1,000 oxygen cylinders, 15 million N95 masks and 1 million rapid diagnostic tests, the White House said on Wednesday.

The United States also has redirected its own order of AstraZeneca manufacturing supplies to India, to allow it to make more than 20 million doses, the White House said.

India will receive a first batch of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine on May 1. Russia's RDIF sovereign wealth fund, which markets Sputnik V globally, has signed deals with five Indian manufacturers for more than 850 million vaccine doses a year.
Bangladesh said it would send about 10,000 vials of anti-viral medicines and 30,000 PPE kits.

Germany will send 120 ventilators on Saturday, and a mobile oxygen production facility next week, its defence ministry said.
