I don't think so... I had mentioned to a co-worker that I thought it sucked that we were being given two options. Use up all our vacation time or go to an unsafe work environment. Talked a little about taking this to legal but he thinks it would be bad for continued employment at this time. Can't say I disagree. I am deferring to his view for the moment...
I think you are confused, Prince William is married to Kate and they've been together since college and have several children together (and seem quite happy).More like "Prince William came to his senses and needs to get away from his wife."
If my three legged German Shepard can dig a hole and swim too... we're gonna make it also. Hang in there. We’re going under.
Perhaps MAD as in Cold War MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) or all three.Mad as in anger or Mad as in Hatter?
You're really late. That was my virgin IGNORE.
Anecdotally that makes sense, but I saw somewhere an overlay chart back when the Chinese were claiming we had it first. That chart was for pneumonia like symptoms in hospitals as compared to other years. It didn't indicate it was here earlier.Social distancing helps a lot. Cuomo said today time required for a doubling of cases in NY is growing. I suspect when they get to testing people for antibodies they will find this has been going around much longer than they thought. We had a surge of people with pneumonia last October and none of them tested positive for the flu. Our granddaughter teaches grade school here and was hospitalized with pneumonia at the time and 4 other teachers in the school had it then too. None of them had a bacterial infection or tested positive for flu.
wth is wrong with people???
Johnny’s Select has done me right. Placed a large order last week. Four days later I was spraying the box. They have everything you want. Of special notice are their quick crop green mixes. They also have sprouting materials. Several varieties of single or mixes for fresh eating sprouts. That is allSome of the seed companies are stating a month shipping lead time.
"What is the quickest way to stop this virus? Science. The science of stopping a virus is "quarantine".
How would it work? When someone gets sick, they get quarantined and their contact list is quarantined."
Unfortunately, while helpful, no, that won't do it, we'd still have asymptomatic, infecting all, walking among us.
What has been needed is to test everybody, then anybody positive, sick or not, is made to go into quarantine.
Failing that, no universal testing, quarantining everybody everywhere is only option to getting ahead of this.

Affirmative. Both. That's the real reason I escaped Washington State. I had a Loraina Bobbit on my hands.Mad as in anger or Mad as in Hatter?
By definition, 1/2 of people are below average...

As we reported yesterday, with the world sharing its data, we are starting to get a better handle on understanding the coronavirus. This real-time exchange of data and insights going on across the globe right now is invaluable to global efforts to fight the spread of covid-19 more effectively.
Germany has recently contributed two important pieces to the puzzle. First, it has been conducting *many* more tests per capita than other countries (500,000/week). Due to this, they have a better picture of the true # of infected people.
Their recent data suggests that the real Case Fatality Rate (CFR) for covid-19 is closer to 0.4% -- substantially lower than the rates calculated for most other countries, who don't test as aggressively.
A 0.4% CFR is still concerning, but is substantially better than the previous 2-3% estimates from just a few weeks back.
Second, because it tests so many people, Germany is swiftly building a database of people who recover and therefore have anti-bodies against the virus. It plans to fast-track these folks' return to work, so that they can get the economy recovering faster without fear of infecting others.
In this way, valuable insights lead to more effective policies -- just like the Czech Republic has done with the #Masks4All movement. As we get smarter, we get stronger.
This, folks, is how we'll beat covid-19.

Good Lord please have mercy.
I had tears in my eyes!!! Love love this!!!LOVE THIS!! At President Trump's Coronavirus presser today, spoken at the podium by Mike Lindell, of My Pillow:
"God gave us grace on November 8, 2016 to change the course we were on. God had been taken out of our schools and lives, a nation had turned its back on God. And I encourage you to use this time at home to get back in the Word, read our Bibles, and spend time with our families. Our president gave us hope, where just a few short months ago we had the best economy, the lowest unemployment, wages going up, it was amazing. With our great President, Vice President, this administration, and all the great people of this country praying daily, we will get through this and get back to a place that's stronger and safer than ever."
I was thinking about R0 and how imprecise it is.
Surely sanitising a warehouse etc will be of no real use, once it is opened again all you need is one infected person to spread the virus probably quite quickly to all others.
My apologies if it's already been posted here earlier, but I am told...
There is an intriguing opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal (March 29, 2020) by
Dr. Jeff Colyer (governor of Kansas between 2018-2019).
He describes an observation from China in which he states that none of the Wuhan
hospital’s lupus patients (who were presumably taking hydroxychloroquine for years)
were positive for the coronavirus. Not definitive science…but an intriguing data point.

Yes. An agent based computer simulation of persons and environment would generate a better model as it would take all those factors into account.R0 is the combination of virus attributes and the environment it's in. R0 is different depending on how people interact. If you don't start with that understanding, you won't grasp what R0 means at all.

Italy figured out a great way of making their numbers go down.
#1 Only test people who go to the hospital. Anyone who dies as home or in a nursing home isn't counted.
#2 Announce that anyone over 60 will only get palliative care in a hospital. Which keeps sick old people at home. I
Most European countries seem to be doing the same. No ambulance pickups available for life threatening symptoms. No one wants to admit just how bad it is.
...at the very least the administrators that made decisions based on money and bonuses should be forced onto the floor with the doctors with the exact same personal protection as the doctors and nurses, with the understanding that during any medical emergency they would be required to be there. Once their lives were suddenly part of the equation I do believe they would cut a few less corners.
...even if it's for a laptop!and we always keep a spare
She hasn’t seen her kids in 6 days.. Sleeps in her car in the hospital parking because she doesn’t want to bring anything home
I saw a report from China where One infected person on a long distance bus infected everybody on it. The six foot rule is pointless in a sealed environment with doors opening and CIRCULATING THE AIR. FURTHER it was seen the droplets went 14 feet from front to back of the bus. If all six were infected, worked multiple different shifts, different days etc you could end up with dozens, hundreds of cases maybe thousands when you add the other people who came in contact.Message from a local Oregon Facebook friend (known her my whole life. Trust this info.)
Inside information, SIX of the infections in Marion County drove Cherriots bus. No driver keeps a set route forever, they rotate, and most have been floating daily as drivers get sick. Imagine the potential for aerosol on the city bus.
