When I was in grade school, our teacher arranged for a man to come and talk about his experiences during WW2.

He said that the Germans came and rounded up all the Jews in his village. He was a young child at the time. They were each allowed to take 1 suitcase of belongings. He was with his mother and father.

They were taken to a place where a ditch was dug. Several would line up and then the Germans would shoot them in the back of the head and there bodies would fall into the pit.

He was not shot and laid for 2 days in the pit with his father on top of him. The Germans shoveled lime on the bodies after they finished shooting the people.

The people in line could hear the gun shots and when they got closer, they could see the pit with all the bodies in it.

When his turn came, his father put his hand on his shoulder and then when his father was shot he pushed his son in front of him and his father landed on him.

I asked him how many Germans there were. He said not many, maybe 4 or 5.

I asked him what did the people do. He said nothing. Just stood in line and waited for there turn.

I asked him why did the people in line not charge and attack the Germans, sure, I said, some would die but most would be able to escape. Many might be injured, but a hundred people could overwhelm the few Germans. He said he did not know why the people did nothing, maybe they just could not believe what was happening and did not know what to do.

He also said it could happen here. I shook my head no, and said it could never happen here. He said of course it can, it can happen anywhere.

I vowed never just to stand in line and wait my turn to be murdered. I also did not believe it could ever happen here.

I was wrong about it never happening here. I hope I am not wrong about standing in line and waiting to be murdered because I could not believe it was happening, and did not know what to do.

The people in Orlando, also could not believe it was happening, they ran and hid. It worked out ok for some, but not for many. Many of the Jews, ran and hid. It also worked out ok for some, but not most.

I hope that if I am ever in these circumstances, that I attack, fight, and get others to join me. Sure maybe I will be dead, or injured, but at least I fought back and maybe decreased the number of dead.

I hope all of you will band together and fight and attack if your caught up in something like this. This was only one man and he killed 49 people and injured 53. Just one man.

Right now we are being attacked from within and outside our boarders. Maybe you all will hide and run and hope you will not be murdered. Maybe it will work out fine for a few of you. It did not work out fine for most of the Jews.

Yes I know that some fought back, but many just stood and took it. Will we learn from these lessons or will we repeat their mistakes.

Many of the Jihadists men are cowards, many are not. I think at this time, they are expecting Americans to cower and run, and not expecting someone to fight back. Wouldn't it be something it everyone turned and attacked the attackers instead of running for cover. There are objects that can be used as weapons all around you, even if you do not have a gun.

It takes time for first responders to get there and help you. Really, you are the first responder and you need to make your actions count.

Yes, wouldn't it be something, if the Jews attacked the Germans right on the spot. It would have changed everything. Yes, they would have changed tactics and yes, things would be different, still many dead.

All of us need to stand up and say no more!

The Jewish man that talked to us in grade school all the years ago was taken in by some kind Germans and survived to tell his tale. He was just a child and had no say in what happened. We are not children and will have to decide what we are going to do, cower or fight.

Yes. Hate to say it but you had 300 people in that night club and unless some other solid information comes to light only one shooter. His AR15 had either 20 or 30 round mags so he had to reload several times. Not only that with all those people they could of rushed him and pinned him down. There is only so many people you can shoot if you get bum rushed in close quarters. I don't want to call the gays limp wrists but to just cower and wait to die isn't in my DNA. They might get me but if your facing certain death anyway I would rather die on my feet like a man.

Coco, I have already made that decision...and considered 'weapons'. For instance, when grocery shopping, I carry a pencil...for marking items off my shopping list.. I will not go quietly into that good night.

Yes, so many just recorded their horror and hid hoping not to be the one shot. There was one door in the bathroom and he had to come through it.

I find that an extremely irresponsible comment.

Jihad is a "fabricated" excuse?

History has shown time and time again that 'jihad' cannot be contained or used by a secular force.

These shadowy 'tyrants' that are using jihad to implement some global police state. Do you honestly think they can turn the jihad off and on like a faucet or have they unleashed a genie that won't go back into the bottle? And that is assuming this global cabal even exists...

I have seen some evidence of one but they have been largely irrelevant for quite some time.

The Bilderburgs, the Bohemian Grove, the Illuminati... There time has passed them by and it is now the time of jihad.

There may be a secular force that is contributing to the jihad ( progressive/communists ) but they really should have looked at the example of Lebanon in the 1980's where the leftists allied with the Muslims against the Christians... Once the Muslim/Communist 'alliance' got the upper hand and they knew the Christian/Right would be defeated, the Muslims turned on and killed the leftists.

It has happened time and time again and this new group will be no different.

just something to think about while we are on this topic,

remember its not the size of the dog, its the size of the fight in the dog, that counts,
while most americans are not close to a gurkha, even if its one for one, its still better than cowering in a corner

and remember a good knife is quiet and if you practice, is somewhat effective ,(go read up on bill bagwells articles) and no Im not saying bring a knife to a gunfight, but if a person was behind that jihadi lowlife in that bar, it might have made a difference

Who wins?

Yeah, you know who freakin' wins.

Via the Army Rumour Service a Gurkha soldier's father posted this story (translation is a bit quirky):

Lone Nepali Gorkha who subdued 40 train robbers

MANOJ ADHIKARI/SANTOSH POKHAREL
POKHARA, Jan 13: Gorkha soldiers have long been known the world over for their valor and these khukuri-wielding warriors winning the British many a battle have become folklore.

A retired Indian Gorkha soldier recently revisited those glory days when he thwarted 40 robbers, killing three of them and injuring eight others, with his khukuri during a train journey. He is in line to receive three gallantry awards from the Indian government.

Slave girl Morgiana in the Arabian Nights used her cunning to finish off Ali Baba´s 40 thieves, but Bishnu Shrestha of Baidam, Pokhara-6 did not have time to plot against the 40 train robbers. He, however, made good use of his khukuri to save the chastity of a girl and hundreds of thousands in loot.

Shrestha, who was in the Maurya Express to Gorakhpur from Ranchi on September 2 while returning home following voluntary retirement from the Indian army--saved the girl who was going to be raped by the robbers in front of her hapless parents, and in doing so won plaudits from everybody.

The Indian government is to decorate Shrestha with its Sourya Chakra, Bravery Award and Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Medal and the 35-year-old is leaving for India Saturday to receive the first of the awards on the occasion of India´s Republic Day on January 26.

“The formal announcement of the awards will be made on Republic Day and on Independence Day on August 15,” said Shrestha, whose father Gopal Babu also retired from the same 7/8 Platoon of the Gorkha Regiment around 29 years ago.

His regiment has already given him a cash award of Indian rupees 50,000, and decided to terminate his voluntary retirement. He will get the customary promotion after receiving the medals. The Indian government will also announce a cash bounty for him and special discounts on international air tickets and domestic train tickets.

The band of about 40 robbers, some of whom were travelling as passengers, stopped the train in the Chittaranjan jungles in West Bengal around midnight. Shrestha-- who had boarded the train at Ranchi in Jharkhand, the place of his posting--was in seat no. 47 in coach AC3.

“They started snatching jewelry, cell phones, cash, laptops and other belongings from the passengers,” Shrestha recalled. The soldier had somehow remained a silent spectator amidst the melee, but not for long. He had had enough when the robbers stripped an 18-year-old girl sitting next to him and tried to rape her right in front of her parents. He then took out his khukuri and took on the robbers.

“The girl cried for help, saying ´You are a soldier, please save a sister´,” Shrestha recalled. “I prevented her from being raped, thinking of her as my own sister,” he added. He took one of the robbers under control and then started to attack the others. He said the rest of the robbers fled after he killed three of them with his khukuri and injured eight others.

During the scuffle he received serious blade injury to his left hand while the girl also had a minor cut on her neck. “They had carried out their robbery with swords, blades and pistols. The pistols may have been fake as they didn´t open fire,” he surmised.

The train resumed its journey after some 20 minutes and a horde of media persons and police were present when it reached Chittaranja station. Police arrested the eight injured dacoits and recovered around 400,000 Indian rupees in cash, 40 gold necklaces, 200 cell phones, 40 laptops and other items that the fleeing robbers dropped in the train.

Police escorted Shrestha to the Railways Hospital after the rescued girl told them about his heroic deed. Mainstream Indian media carried the story. The parents of the girl, who was going for her MBBS studies, also announced a cash award of Indian rupees 300,000 for him but he has not met them since.

“Even the veins and arteries in my left hand were slit but the injury has now healed after two months of neurological treatment at the Command Hospital in Kolkata,” he said showing the scar. “Fighting the enemy in battle is my duty as a soldier; taking on the dacoits in the train was my duty as a human being,” said the Indian army nayak, who has been given two guards during his month-long holidays in Nepal.

“I am proud to be able to prove that a Gorkha soldier with a khukuri is really a handful. I would have been a meek spectator had I not carried that khukuri,” he said.

He still finds it hard to believe that he took on 40 armed robbers alone. “They may have feared that more of my army friends were traveling with me and fled after fighting me for around 20 minutes,” he explained.

The jihadist version of Islam originated in the 18th-Century movement known as Wahabbiism.
In my opinion it is a manifestation of the beast in Revelation.

The final conflict will feature the radical jihadists.

Jihad originated with Muhammad...

I have had a gun and a knife pulled on me and both times I attacked instead of running or hiding and both times I took the weapon away and put them in the hospital. You never know what you will do when it happens to you, I thought I would run but instead I attacked. They were not expecting to be attacked they expected me to run, beg or hide when that didn't happen it surprised them.

I am a little old lady but I have chased off one tough with a gun and disarmed another with a knife. He promptly booked it too. Both threatened students that I was responsible for. Mother hen instinct, I guess...

A very good analogy. You have to make the decision ahead of the need. You have to reinforce that decision over and over again in your mind. When the event happens you will not be able reason out a response. It needs to be automatic.

Believe it or not...it's a real pencil. Ball up your fist and slide the eraser end between the middle fingers,...and you have a very good 'stabbing weapon'. Such ideas are for areas where you can't (legally) carry...

Strictly a fabricated excuse for tyrants to institute an out of control state.

I would say "carefully resurrected" is a better phrase than fabricated, but it's pretty much just semantics either way.

The point is well taken no matter how it is phrased.
