I have a used book store I exclusively patronize these days. Old guy who's been there for decades. Books like $2 for paperback and up to $4 for hard copy. Plus in the summer he puts out scads of free books in front of the store. And if you like, he'll take back your read books for store credit. He'll order stuff for you. The place is jammed with books and all dry and dusty. Sometimes I sneeze. But I don't have any adulterated books in my collection. Go to used book stores.
Is that the place on Jefferson Rd., near Winton? There is a really cool used book store there that meets this description. If not, please share the location of your book store!

I've always thought this will ultimately happen to the Bible. So many use the online Bibles, and it would be so easy to start small, changing something here and there, and completely altering the meaning of verses. Before long, the Bible as we know it is gone. That's one reason I bought an 1880's copy a few years ago, because just like 1984, things will be changed

Now that's an interesting thought I hadn't thunk. Glad I have mine on the nightstand.

Nor does the average end-user understand legal phrasing/speak - as Bill Clinton famously noted, to wit:

“It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is. If the—if he—if ‘is’ means is and never has been, that is not—that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement. … Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true.”

It's Rick's. Directly opposite Rutgers St. on Monroe Ave. You may have to park on Rutgers. Be careful in there, it's really jammed up with books and the aisles are tiny. You don't want to break an ankle, LOL.

Epubor works great. I've used it for 6-8 years....couple versions. On laptop.
Able to convert multiple formats, epub, azw, mobi,,text, pdf. Check site out.
You drag & drop your Amazon Kindle e-books into the box, .AZW or.MOBI
1) Epubor reviews the book or books, removes digital rights management.
2) You choose what type of format you want to use, .ePub, push Convert button, and in 10-15 seconds, done.
3) Transfer your .ePub copy into your filing folder. Done, Rename it your way.
4) When done with Epubor, delete all books in the Ultimate folder, then delete your .AZW or .MOBI books. You won't need them anymore
Note: I save my books in .ePub format because 85-90% of the world uses it. And it's free. My .pdf files, I keep as .pdf
The .ePub format takes up way less space on your hard drive compared to .mobi, or .azw.
And make sure you have a filing/renaming system of storing your e-books.
And the biggest storage device you can afford, I have somewhere between 1-2 terabytes at this time and it will only go up.
I believe that for the Kindle readers, you can now read .epub books on the newer Kindles.
