Starting my Xyngular Keto diet to and I am scared of not liking the foods and failing. I’m used to eating mostly junk food. Anybody been on this? It is pricey! But maybe I will make it a lifetime change.

I did the dairy free keto diet. It is a bit more expensive. It does work. Love the various meals and food possibilities.

I used a facebook group to answer questions, get recipes and overall help.

Here is the group.

Eat good meat and vegetables. It's easy. Who doesn't like steak? Bacon? ;)

Breaking the carb addiction is the worst of it. Once that's done, ya feel SO much better that you welcome the change. Don't be so freaking rigid with it that you can't do it. Don't cut out dairy unless there's a good reason (allergic). Milk, butter, cheese...all good.

I don’t know what Xyngular means, but I did keto for over 6 months by the book, very strictly back in 2015. I loved it. I felt absolutely amazing, lost 40 lbs, and got into the best shape of my life. I’m slowly easing back into it. Honestly I don’t know what’s not to like. Whatever meat you want, cheese, dairy, lots of avocados, nuts, some veggies, even a bit of fruit (berries) now and then. My favorite meal was a grilled ribeye with blue cheese crumbles and bacon with a side avocado salad. You get full faster and stay full longer, so you'll likely only end up eating two meals a day. Good luck! Tons of resources out there online.

It took me a week or so to stop craving sweets and potato chips. We found lots of alternatives at Aldi, of all places. I eventually had to stop the diet, though, because of gout flares. However, I'd still recommend it as a decent way to jumpstart a weight loss regimen. I lost about 20lbs in six weeks from not having sugar/carbs.

Been sugar bingeing since the *election,* and can't quite get a handle on proper eating again, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Keto doesn't have to be expensive if you don't get sucked into buying all the expensive MCT oils, almond flours, etc. Stick to basics like ground beef, eggs, and butter. I also like canned sardines (read the ingredients labels, before purchase!) Cabbage is cheap, and easy to make into kraut. I did feel MUCH better when I stuck to it, and it wasn't hard, at least not earlier. Also easier, if one lives alone.

If you fall off, just get back on again. Every is a new day to get healthier.

My husband and I were 100% carnivore for 6 months. It got frickin expensive to eat grass-fed/finished ribeyes, but life was so much simpler and we felt great. We went from eating a tremendous amount of crap at all times of the day and night to eating some breakfast (hard boiled eggs/bacon) and a early evening steak. We called it our mandatory feeding. We had an 8 hour window. Usually closer to 6 hours. We just weren’t hungry nor craving anything. We fell off the bandwagon HARD when Covid hit. Meat prices jumped and we panick bought all kinds of food. That just opened the gate to sugar. OMG, it’s like crack. So, we have to fast and get this crap out of our bodies and start again. We purchased a Ninja Foodie (we made every ribeye in our Ninja air fryer and they were always superb!) It’s expensive to eat this way. but worth it.

Actually, my grocery bill got cut almost in half when I went carnivore. I was only eating once a day and never hungry.
I started a keto recipe thread btw, here:

I called it Wheat Alternatives, but all the recipes I post will be Keto.
What is Xyngular?

Breaking the carb addiction! Oh hell, I remember walking down the aisle in a supermarket, brain screaming "CARBO'S, CARBO'S, CARBO'S, over and over. That was 20 years ago. I love the diet. Anytime my B.P. goes up, I go on it, and within a week, my B.P. is 110/70 again.
And, you can eat junk food. Smokey Links and Spam are definitely junk food, and you can have as much as you want!
Heartburn, if you have it, will be gone the first week, also. SO will the tired period of your afternoon, between 2 and 5pm. Energy? You won't believe how much you have!
Great diet!

Been ket for years, although admittedly about a year ago fell off the wagon.

Been back on keto since September, it's not hard!
Check out Diet Doctor, lotsa good info, it REALLY isn't hard, ya just have to make the decision to start.

Easy tip.....just count carbs (don't count carbs in green veggies, olives, cauliflower, sauerkraut, cabbage, zucchini squash....those are FREE carbs).
Keep carbs definitely below 50, below 25 is better....THAT'S KETO.

Doesn't HAVE to be expensive. Eat burger, toss a cheap roast in the crockpot with plenty of vegetables, chicken, eggs, cheese, pork, fish (I love sausage, smoked and pickled fish for snacks). Unless you are trying to do something else to complicate things at the same time and literally setting yourself up for failure (like go organic or ?? DON'T do that!) it's not that expensive, because you simply aren't as hungry over the course of the day.

Gads...I've seen the prices on crap foods these days...chips, cookies, breaded shite from the frozen section, sugary cereals...there's where the money flies away at the grocery store.

From a quick web search:

What is Xyngular?
Xyngular is a wellness company offering nutritional kits to help customers improve their health. These kits contain several dietary products in the form of capsules, liquids, and drink powders.
This health and wellness company offers meal replacement drink mixes and appetite control supplements. The products are sold via MLM marketing.
What is MLM?
MLM is known as multi-level marketing, a type of network marketing designed so distributors make commissions based on sales generated from their recruits.
To qualify as a legal multi-level marketing business, the company must make profits on a certain percentage of product sales.
Xyngular offers its distributors health supplements to sell and the opportunity to recruit other distributors to make more money. This company’s compensation plan allows distributors to make money with retail sales, online sales, recruits, and bonuses to generate multiple income streams.
The commission rate is high, at 42% on all repeat sales up to eight levels on the downline recruits.
Xyngular Share is the new app that distributors can use to share their business, access marketing materials, etc.

my opinion - KETO is great, Xyngular not so much!

Definitely agree with the others. You don't need and MLM to do Keto.

Most mornings I would have scrambled eggs and bacon with unsweetened ice tea.
Lunch was a spinach, chicken salad with bacon and lots of thousand island dressing.
Super... often wasn't hungry. If so, a meat and veggies. Lots of green veggies.

Drank A LOT of water.
Exercise. I walked 3-5 miles per day.
Cut down on carbs as much as practical. Eliminated sugar.
I was losing 1-1.5 pounds per day. And felt great.

I'm getting back on the wagon. Starting a hybrid version. I eat enough carbs aka cereal to keep from getting a monster headache as my glucose runs out. Should be able to roll over to full keto in a week.

I never felt better than when I was full keto.

I ended up combining that with Fasting ( See Jason Fung), and had fantastic results.

Hot tip:
Salt is your friend. Don't be afraid of it.

Hot tip 2:
Avoid magnesium deficiency leg cramps by soaking in Epsom salt baths or foot soaks.

Carnivore for two years now, and feeling great. My weight is normal, as is my blood work and all other indicators. No veg is needed, eat like a lion, meat, organs water. Yes I eat eggs and some dairy and bacon and shellfish etc when I feel like a change but 3-5 days a week, it's usually just beef.
My top tip, buy cheap joints of beef like top side etc and cut them into steaks - so much cheaper. then make beef broth from the scraggy ends and extra fat. Butter fried beef cubes are delicious, as is raw chopped beef with egg yolks. It's all good and costs less than my old weekly shop. Only need 3 cast iron also, one pot, one frying pan and one dutch oven.

Great stuff! But understand this first:

Keto Desserts and Gut Issues
R/T - 5:43

Do you have gut issues when you consume keto desserts/sweeteners? Here’s what you need to know.

In this video, we’re going to talk about keto desserts and gut issues. Keep in mind that I never recommend snacks throughout the day. I’m primarily talking about keto desserts that you’re having right at the end of your meal. If you have gut issues, you should not be having any keto desserts. The ingredients in keto desserts can add to the inflammation in your gut.

Let’s break down the ingredients you should avoid.
1. Sugar alcohols - Erythritol - Stevia - Monk fruit - Xylitol - Maltitol - IMO (Vita Fiber)
2. Flour alternatives - Almond flour - Coconut flour - Chia seed flour - Chickpea flour - Hazelnut flour
3. Vegetable fats - Coconut out - Safflower oil - Sunflower oil - Corn oil - Soy oil
4. Nuts and seeds (all of them) If you have gut issues, it’s ideal to consume full-fat animal proteins—including fatty fish, beef, organ meats, and sausage.

These will help keep inflammation down in the gut. You want to have a 2:1 fat to protein ratio if you have gut issues. Primarily stick with animal fats and animal proteins.

Yep, Keto diet. worms, maggots and grass, all raw and made into a smoothie in the blender is the way to go.....

I had raw maggot smoothies for 4 months when I was in China.

God has a plan, Trust it!
Why in the world would you want to use a MLM expensive program to do a diet that is easy, and inexpensive and the best one to do by yourself?

I've been doing Keto now and lost 22 lbs so far. Its been easy peasy, not hungry, eat regular food, and I don't need to prepare other foods for family and myself. We all eat the same, which means everyone else is eating healthy too.

I'm not strict keto...but rather what they call dirty, lazy keto. There is a wonderful group on Facebook dirty lazy keto started by a woman who lost 130 pounds, half her body weight. Dirty because it uses artificial sweeteners..I wouldn't be able to give up my diet Pepsi. Lazy because you don't obsess over counting macros. Even doing this way I still lose quite a bit of weight.

Pinterest has many recipes!! And chaffles are wonderful!! Chaffle house is another Facebook group with many chaffle recipes.

Good luck!

OP... you don't need to pay for information. It's all free.
First of all look at keto to be a lifestyle change, not a diet per se.
Stop all grains. That means stop buying bread and pasta and such. Eat healthy fats. Eat those veggies.
Carbohydrates make you hungry. It's a sugar addiction that you can break within 3 days.
Healthy fats and protein keep you more satiated so you eat less junk.
Concentrate on eating non processed foods. If it comes in a box or bag don't consume it.
I only eat 2 meals a day and exercise while fasted in the mornings.
Eat fermented foods also for good gut health. Think pickles, kraut, and kimche.
Try eating several small meals per day. I call it grazing. Don't starve yourself.
Try to understand food combinations. Never eat fat with carbohydrate. Your liver can only process one, while the other goes to body fat storage. Hope you didn't like Mexican or Italian food anyway lol.
Start researching hormones, especially ghrelin. That is the sneaky bastard that keeps telling you that you are hungry.
Undoubtedly after a few weeks your ghrelin levels drop. This is when you introduce a cheat meal or day with high carbs. Examples would include teriyaki rice bowls, Power bars, sweet potatoes, etc... BUT stay away from brown rice! Too many anti-nutrients and a major reason for gut problems. Only eat white or wild rice.
Don't eat any fats on those days! Bump your ghrelin levels back up which surely will help with the thyroid and metabolism.
Stay away from Gluten at all costs. Major inflammation issues.. Pain and bloating. Nobody wants that.
Cut all sugar!!!!

One of my favorites:
Take a can of albacore and 1 ripe avocado. Add spices like pink salt and pepper, garlic, onion, chives. Then I put a little mustard and real mayo and whip it up like a tuna salad. Add a pickle or two. And just eat as is. No wraps! And then I finish it off with a seaweed snack to get my iodine which feeds my thyroid. I ate that at 11 this morning and still not hangry.

Sometimes for dinner I will eat a large salad and then have some eggs on the side.

I started reading Mark's Daily Apple several years ago. I learned from those who were diabetic and celiac. I had neither but just used their knowledge for my own preventive measures.

This lifestyle of eating will definitely make you healthier and live longer. And contrary to what some claim, it's still a hell of a lot cheaper than filling your grocery cart with processed foods.

I hope to help as many peeps as possible. It's just about educating ourselves to live healthier and pain free lives. I should have been a nutritionist. LOL.

I am 50 but don't look or feel like it. Good luck!
