The long awaited, at least by me, sequel to John Wick 2 is now here. A nice review is at the link below. The trailer is also there.

‘John Wick 3 — Parabellum’ Review: Exhilarating Martial Arts Classic

The “parabellum” in the title of John Wick: Chapter 3 comes from the Latin Si vis pacem, para bellum — translation: If you desire peace, prepare for war, a line spoken by one of the movie’s great character actors. As effective as that line is, though, my favorite is a much simpler one that comes from our hero, John Wick (Keanu Reeves), when he’s asked, “What do you need?”

His answer?

“Guns. Lots of guns.”

Just watched the first....again. Forgot we’d already seen it. Looking forward to the second. Definitely a “cult” type of film I think. It would be fun for this old guy if we could have a crime-fighting action hero using something other than Glocks and AR’s. How about something esoteric like a N-frame Smith in .44Special.

That would be “The Matrix”.

He uses a Kel-Tec KSG in the second one, that esoteric enough for you?

He says it in this one too, or at least he does in the trailer.

ETA: Per tvtropes, he does say the line in the movie, and it is an explicit homage to The Matrix.

ROFLOL!!

Wick uses some interesting arms in all 3 movies.

though the KSG is downright speshul.

The N-frame?? Isn't that Eastwood's piece??

we had a link somewhere (or I followed a link and forgot to leave bread crumbs, in which an ex-SEAL/CIA operator taught Keanu to enter a room properly.

It was REALLY COOL to watch Missy Peregrine do her entry into a room PRECISELY (down to the footwork) as Keanu was taught (the SEAL had just taught a gal who had a game gig to do the same thing and had gotten kudos from the producer of her game on the entries.)

Looking forward to seeing JW-3.

It'd be REAL cool to have the cut footage of him doing his hobby of bookbinding/restoring.

Jut re-watched the first one, and it turns out it's the first one where he uses the KSG (it has an Eotech sight mounted), right after he escapes from the church.

Can't wait to see it. It's on my list of 'must-sees'.

I only recently viewed JW1 and JW2 on tv for the first time (FABULOUS!) and want to see JW3 on the big screen.

Someone in Hollywood was asked who was the closest in real life to John Wick, and the reply was Keanu Reeves.

Now did that mean he's a hit man in real life?

I'm not a fan. Trite, almost non-existant storylines. Seems tailor made for ADHD types. But, most action movies are these days.

Not really.

Keanu throws himself into the films. He goes and STUDIES with people who are PROs at what his film self is supposed to do. And he does damn near all his own stunts.

We went and saw the movie this evening, fun popcorn movie, if you are a fan of the first two you should find part three very enjoyable. The segment with the two Belgian Malinois was lots of fun.

Goodness before greatness.
Where have I been. Never heard of John Wick 1 or 2.

Like the Breitbart article mentioned, when Neo began flying in The Matrix, they, the producers left me with no other way to respond than to load up on popcorn for the next CQC scene. Even those get stretched beyond reasonable though.

If I wanted to see Superman, I’d bought a ticket to Superman.

As much as I liked The Matrix... Well, my next day off should be at the rifle range, not a theater. I’ll catch it a year and a half from now at home with my wife.

I guess I should see JW1 & 2 first.

I never saw it on the big screen. I have the dvd's here at home. We liked them just fine and will like the 3 the same way. Keeanu is just very cool and I love to watch good acting. He is a good actor who takes his work seriously enough to actually learn how to handle a gun and shoot it. And that's why they are good movies.

But then, I have all the Matrix movies on blu ray too, lol.........

Can't wait to hear him say, Need lot's of guns........ lol.....
