WEATHER Hurricane Helene

How would the media have reacted if President Trump had been sitting on the beach while towns all over America were being wiped out by a hurricane?

I am old enough to remember when this picture of Bush flying over Katrina was a national scandal with the MSM Grandstanding.

Bush was eviscerated by the press for his Air Force One flyby over New Orleans on day three after Hurricane Katrina hit. Here is Kamala Harris three days after Hurricane Helene...

The people who blamed Bush for Katrina will now insist that the disaster in North Carolina right now has absolutely nothing to do with the Biden Administration and it’s outrageous for you to insist otherwise

North Carolina Amateur Radio Operators

These past 48 hours, working as net control for an emergency amateur radio net for Hurricane #Helene, has not only been very humbling but a true honor to be part of.

Yesterday, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Don (NG4D) and Jimmy (N4SZF) and a few others, made phone calls while Dan manned the radio. Collectively, hundreds of phone calls and text messages were made to family members at the request of stranded ham radio operators in Western, NC.

Today, Dan worked with the help of Jimmy (N4SZF) out of the Iredell County Emergency Operations Center from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM handling hundreds of requests from people in the affected area and from people outside the affected area looking for missing loved ones. Again, Dan manned the radio and Jimmy and others made phone calls and text messages.
Being able to reunite family members with loved ones after they were desperate for answers was an amazing experience. The kind words and tears when these calls were made... No words... Hard to describe the feeling.

Thank you to Iredell County Emergency Management and members of the Iredell County Fire Marshalls Office for entry into the EOC and assistance setting up.

The EOC might not be much to look at due to funding and we may have been locked out of the AuxComm Office but we made it work with a portable antenna and portable radios.

Being in one building was nice, but the lack of radios and antennas on the tower made Sunday's operation difficult. No worries though, Dan, Don, and Jimmy will continue the net tomorrow at 9:00 AM in the comfort of our own homes doing what we do best. Being professionals in an amateur world.

Continued thoughts and prayers for those fighting to stay alive in these hard hit areas tonight.

So glad to hear this! Especially since earlier reports of HAM operators being off-line..

But--what does THIS mean?--
we may have been locked out of the (EOC) AuxComm Office but we made it work with a portable antenna and portable radios.

Big question on how the affected people will be able to vote? We are getting down to the 30 day mark and no way they will repair roads and vital services in order to go to poll places that are no longer there.
BINGO.

Erik Erickson has been talking about that on WSB--and whether the "slowness" of FEMA and the Fedgov to respond is -- mainly-- to disenfranchise these voters.

(they don't care if they ALL die)

Everyone here knows the Fed Gov and this administration is not worth a shit and cant be counted on except to tax you more. Ignore these pieces of shit and do what we as patriots do best. If you are close enough to lend hand, do so, if not if you can spare any $ send some. But not to the Red Cross, or any gov people they are worthless. Several groups mentioned above are likely credible. Its up to us to help our fellow man regardless of color, religion or political affiliation. This is about our humanity and our Faith as Christian people and Americans.

Come on folks, Kommiela has sent plenty of JOY to our beleaguered neighbors. Don’t say she hasn’t sent her best….. :kaid:
In addition, if you’re a Rhino, you are the ultimate tool/fool as evidenced by Bush boy compared to Grandpa Biden during a disaster. The MSM just uses you like the little toady you are…

I called my friend Thomas in Tennessee and I got a message that calls cannot be completed, circuits are busy, etc.

Thomas and I served together in the Calif. Nat'l Guard and we both deployed to Iraq. He moved to a Cookeville near I-40 and when I was travelling through Tenn. I would stop and visit during normal hours.

I am in Florida now and cannot travel and if I could, I don't have the resources to go to Tenn. at this time. JFYI...

Biden finally realizes there's a crisis in North Carolina and other southern states

Biden says "we've given everything that we have" to the people in Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, GA, and FL dealing with the floods from the storm.

The Harris/Biden administration hates America.

Just a little tangent - I got a report from my brother at noon today about the situation where his mother & father in-law are in Florida - they are about a mile inland from the Manatee River which is located on the extreme southern edge of the Tampa Bay. The in-laws (in their 80's) are fine with a little wind damage, a leaky roof, but no flooding. Of course, no power or water. He has a generator, but I mentioned to brother that gas and bottled water are going to be hard to come by for a while. He's thinking about either making a run or flying down there to help out.

Brother and SIL stayed at a rental place nearby, right on the Manatee last winter, and that neighborhood was flooded out by the storm surge which came up the river. Houses likely needing to be dozed as the water came up in them about 4 feet. Nobody can afford insurance. Mostly second, winter homes, cheeseball construction, and they are going to be a complete loss except for the land they sit on.

If you’re wondering why Biden and Harris aren’t lifting a finger to help the people in Tennessee and North Carolina, it’s because they hate rural Americans (and everything rural America represents and preserves) and are happy to see them replaced by illegal immigrants.

They also don’t want Western North Carolina to vote in 6 weeks

Asheville, North Carolina, and many other towns, are completely destroyed right now.

3 million people across the country are without power and 64 are dead and counting..

Kamala on Hurricane Ian relief:

The Biden administration will focus on “giving resources based on equity” by directing funds to “communities of color”
