..and to be honest, I still don't know the answer to what I posted, even though a couple of you shared possibilities

Oops. Apology. My brain thought jward, but my fingers seem to have got things scrambled up. You, unquestionably, are a jewel; eggceptional even. babysteps gave the eggsactly-correct answer, though it would be clearer if written '...left with their...' (but the way it was written is more in line with how the puzzle was crafted). Ok, no more yolking around, stay on the sunny-side up, and stop cracking me up!
