Hillary/Obama in 2008?
Could be the one ticket that actually succeeds in getting a negative popular vote, as in less than zero. Not because Hillary's female or Obama's an African-American, but because (people seem to be having such a hard time understanding this) they are sitting legislators, not executives such as governors. (It goes without saying that Hillary's personality disorders will prevent most from voting for her; the voters will cashier her on that basis, without even looking at her lack of executive credentials.)
The electoral landscape is littered with the corpses of Congressmen and Senators who thought they could be elected President. There have been hundreds of them...Kerry and Edwards are just the latest casualties. The American electorate wants its chief executive to have (gasp!) executive experience, something just about all legislators lack.
If the Democrats want a viable candidate, they better be looking toward someone in their rapidly dwindling pool of state governors. Except, they should pass over anybody remotely resembling Michael Dukakis, who, as we all remember, was a laughable disaster as a presidential candidate.
