Hillary Clinton makes a wisecrack about Melania Trump's 'Be Best' program

Hillary Clinton on Thursday took a sideswipe at first lady Melania Trump and her “Be Best” initiative.

“I think she should look closer to home,” Clinton said on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” when asked how she feels about the first lady’s anti-cyberbullying initiative, suggesting she should examine her husband’s online behavior.

The first lady’s initiative works to promote well-being, online safety and opioid abuse among children. At times, Melania Trump has promoted anti-cyberbullying tips as part of her campaign — immediately drawing attention to her husband's penchant for Twitter-based attacks.

In December, the president targeted 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg after she won Time magazine person of the year, posting on Twitter that the activist must work on her “Anger Management problem.” Despite championing her initiative that promotes internet kindness, Melania Trump remained quiet.

In 2018 remarks, the first lady defended Be Best, said she wasn’t “surprised” at the criticism and that she remained “committed to tackling” the problem of cyberbullying. "And I hope that like I do, you will consider using their negative words as motivation to do all you can to bring awareness and understanding about responsible online behavior," she said.

It’s not abnormal for sitting first ladies to solicit advice from their predecessors, but there are no signs that Hillary Clinton and Melania Trump have spoken about the role. Clinton is the unique example of a former first lady who also ran for president, however — and the bitter 2016 campaign left bruised feelings on both sides. A spokesman for Clinton did not respond to a request for comment.

Usually, the handoff from one East Wing is a smooth and cordial affair. Laura Bush reached out to Michelle Obama to let her know she was “just a call away,” and Obama extended a similar courtesy to Melania Trump when her family moved into the White House.

But Melania Trump never reached out to her for advice, she has said.

"No, no she hasn't," Obama said during a 2018 interview.

"Mrs. Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as first lady in her own way," the first lady's spokeswoman said in response. "When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House."

Hillary is one to talk about a husband's behavior

AND - the agenda DEMANDS that Michelle say Melania didn't even as much as call.

Orange Man bad which makes his wife even worse.

And why would this even be newsworthy except the MEEDIA is supporting the agenda?

Control the information - control the decision making by the Electorate.

No matter what I may think of her husband (my views are mixed actually) Melania Trump has got to be the most classy, dedicated and hard-working First Lady I've seen in my adult lifetime.

Mrs. Carter tried but expected to be the wife of a career Naval Officer, not a First Lady; Nancy Reagan tried the fashion plate thing but came off as harsh and out-of-touch (true or not), Barabra Bush is nearly up there (or tied) with Malania (to me), Laura Bush tried but seemed totally lost, Hillary made the mistake of trying to be in government and it was a disaster, Michele tried but made it clear she hated the job (she even said so when she thought she was off-camera) but Melania has gone out of her way to be the best First Lady she can be.

She doesn't control what her husband says, she doesn't get into politics (that's his job) and she said when he got the nomination that her causes would have to do with protecting children if her husband was elected and she has done so.

She has also single-handedly managed State Dinners, used her interior Design training to upgrade the White House and has been gracious in the face of her husband's public revelations of hiring a prostitute while she was pregnant or when old photos of her previous life as a young actress have shown up on Facebook (she just ignored them, the Lady-Like thing to do).

I actually had a very liberal friend post them and say "what would say if YOUR daughter saw these" and I said, "I would tell her that we all make mistakes in life, what defines us is not our mistakes but how we either pick ourselves up and learn from them and move on or we decide to simply wallow in them and keep repeating them."

I think whatever her past choices as a very young woman, she has done a fabulous job of the position she has now - to me it is a highly inspirational story.

Too bad Bill didn't stuff a grenade down old Hilldog's drawers years ago. Then we wouldn't have to put up with her BS today, and Bill would be a national hero and we could celebrate "Bill Clinton day".

When Obama initially ran for for president, I had a chance to walk through his tour bus. The SS agent that gave me the tour was very pleasant/professional. The bus was very nice, but it stunk. The smell was unreal. Obama was busy inside an event center giving his fundamentally changing America speech to a bunch of stargazed white guilt voters. So I'm not surprised that Melania didn't contact or ask Michelle back after Melania ran into that wall of stink in the White House. I'll bet it took a lot of cleansing to remove that smell. That smell is unforgettable.

Smart enough to stay FAR away from the two witches of Endor! (And I believe I read she refused to move into the White House until it had been spiritually cleansed and blessed... VERY intelligent woman!

I never saw that anywhere! I had a priest come and bless my house when I moved in here. Wasn't as complete as I wanted, priest was a fancy boy with italian leather shoes, didn't want to walk the property lines with all the weeds.
WAY COOL!
