nah, never gonna happen.

The populace is so dumbed down they will roll over. There is so much fear and there's been so many high gargantuan figures of bailout money flying around that the sheep don't know whats important anymore.

Obama will save them, Obama will save the world.

I hear a whole lot of people who are mad, even furious, over the bailouts (all of them), but I don't know if any of them would actually riot. I do think that the people who would be more inclined to riot are Obama supporters and so they won't because they still believe that he will save them.

It was on our local news this morning that someone in Michigan is starting a campaign to boycott Alabama - Because Senator Richard Shelby is against the bailout - They are urging everyone to not buy anything from Alabama.

I found this:

Michigan Auto Worker Says "No Bailout.. Then Boycott Alabama"
Submitted by WDEF on December 10, 2008 - 7:39pm. DeKalb County News | Jackson County News

Some northerners are beginning to pay attention to the southern lawmakers fighting the bailout.
In fact, one worker at a U-S auto plant has started a campaign to boycott Alabama and it's foreign car makers.
He's upset by Senator Richard Shelby's opposition to the bailout.
He created the website "Boycott Alabama Now."

Joe Babiasz: “You will not go to the state, you will not vacation there, do any business there. Any of their products, their Mercedes, and any of the other….Toyota, Honda… you won’t purchase their cars.”

Joe Babiasz: “The goal is to have a nationwide boycott – to have thousands and thousands of people tell him, as well as the state Chamber of Commerce through links on the website that we won’t support your state. You don’t support us, we won’t support you.”

Here is a link to the website.

The question is whether Tennessee could be the next target.

After all, we are now the U.S. home to Nissan and Volkswagen.

And Senator Corker is just as vocal against the Big 3 leadership and union workers.

They bailed out AIG because their pensions are tied up with that company. They can always buy a car from somewhere else. I'm sorry, I know I'm too close to the forest to see the trees, but I just don't understand why congress was so willing to hand over the keys of the kingdom (700b) to a man who wanted NO oversight and promises of NO legal ramifications, but they refuse to give money to living breathing entities.

The people who work for the big three have mortgages and pay taxes and buy stuff. That is what I call tangible. How many more mortgages will go bad if these people aren't helped?

Why is it okay for the banks to be bailed out but not our own manufacturing?

They've already given everything away. I don't understand why the big three had to beg and beg and beg, and now they stand within a hair of saying no anyway. The money we are talking is already put aside for the industry.

My feeling is this is our governments way of putting the slam to the UAW.

I was against the original bailout and I am not really, in my heart, happy about this one, I just don't get the double standard here, and I think we should all start wondering what it is all about.

This country is slowing eating itself and I sure don't know what the answers are.

And please, spare me all the crap about worthless auto workers. I won't read it.

Gunnersmom, you're absolutely right! The problem is that people are still so steamed about the banking bailout that they get outraged at the mention of any other bailout, without thinking it through.

He has a clue. He knows his constituents are more or less split on the issue and that drumming up some fear will help to support his position. I doubt he really believes there will be riots.

Today I spent 3 hours writing emails to senators and reps thanking them for their steadfast refusal of support for crooked Detroit. Got 2 form letters back. :shr:

American auto industry has destroyed itself, we're simply seeing the flames and smoke now..............soon we'll see the ruin.

Save a seat for me!

Let 'em riot. As has been said about other undesirables....."they're offing all the right people."

If any Northerner wants to boycott any Southern state, I am all for it, and I think they should all leave the South as well. They are trying to Unionize North Carolina, turn it into the mess they have up "there". North Carolina is getting all the transplants, and now all the welfare crap from up there as well.

So please, Boycot the South, leave us the hell alone. I for one am done with the pro union, pro democrat, anti gun, anti god garbage that floats down stream from up there.

Boycot Alabama indeed!
