HEALTH Flu shots

My Mom died of cancer in 2016. She never, ever had a flu shot. She never drank, smoke, or did drugs. She lived a clean life. She did however, have the typical vaccines of the 50s. Like polio, etc.
Yeah, but in the 1950's we only had the polio shots we got in school. I don't remember any other shots. Now kids get 49 vaccines before they enter kindergarden. I got 2 polio shots in grammar school. I missed the smallpox shot cuz i was so scared of needles that i threw up and they thought i was sick and skipped me. So yeah, we had two vaccines back then.

It is still in the multi-dose vials
From the CDC:

Do flu vaccines contain thimerosal?
Flu vaccines in multi-dose vials contain thimerosal to safeguard against contamination of the vial. Most single-dose vials and pre-filled syringes of flu shot and the nasal spray flu vaccine do not contain a preservative because they are intended to be used once.

A list of available flu vaccines and their thimerosal content is available.

Last years Vac was only 30% effective. That means that you had a 70% chance of becoming ill from the flue. Now they are trying to develop a vaccine for the covid, however they are shooting for a 40% effectiveness. That would mean 60% chance of contracting the beer flue.

Me? I will place all my faith in the Lord and supplement with zinc, D3, copious quantities of Sriracha, Mrs Renfro's ghost pepper salsa and any thing else I can eat that will interact with the mucosal lining nose/lips to butt. I have had a bout of pneumonia about 5 years ago and a yearly very mild cold.

Now never have had a flu shot and never it seems get the flu. Think will stay with my Vitamin C and the other vitamins and minerals. No thanks to the mercury and other junk that they put in these vaccines. I know people who get the flu shot and get the flu every freaking year. Not me.

noooo way - they have been warning about mixing the regular flu shot and the new Virus vaccine coming out ....

I want the option to have the Virus Vaccine - could be restriction put onto people that aren't inoculated against the Virus >>> it'll be your problem for not thinking ahead ....
Close enough. I have been concerned about the ingredients of this years flu shot. I have not had the flu shot in 35 years and not had the flu and will not get the flu shot now. I was just wondering if this years flu shot would be used to get whatever is in the COVID19 vaccine into you without your knowledge since so many have said they would refuse the COVID19 vaccine. Sometimes my woo-woo amazes me.

Got mine last weekend. For years I was required to get one for my job. This year I debated whether to get one but made the decision to continue with what has worked.

Personal theory that actually has science and anecdotal evidence to back it up

The flu shot might help us with the flu, a little. But it lowers the immune system for weeks to months afterwards.

Think about it. The flu shot stimulates the immune system. It makes the body things it's fighting off a disease. Which causes it to use up some of its weapons. The absolute worst time to get exposed to a disease is in the days after recovering from another one.

This is why so many people report getting very sick after getting the flu shot

Anyone who gets the flu shot should be treated like a Bubble child without an immune system for a while.

Our daughter is pushing my dh and I to get the flu shot this year - if nothing else, to protect THEM! She even said she'd pay for it. I told her I'm not getting it. Period. I had the flu shot once and was very sick after getting it. I also got the pneumonia vax, as I'd had pneumonia the year before. Several months after getting that vax, I got pneumonia.

I'm not putting those toxins into my body. I already told her that. And she keeps pushing. I told her that we don't go much of anyplace, that if I were to get the flu, it would be from THEM, not the other way around!

Unfortunately, she and her dh are more liberal than we'd like. They don't listen to our reasoning. They have their own reasoning, which according to them is the right one.

Every person I know That has died of cancer or has cancer had one thing in common, They all took the flu shot. Including my wife she got the shot every year even when she knew a week later she would be sick as a dog with the flu.

Flu shots are a roll of the dice anyway.

I never have and never will. I may get the flu now and then, but it just naturally builds my Immunity system up for when something really ugly comes along.
I never get the flu shot. Never get the flue. Might get the sniffles, but that is it. I used to work in a bld with about 60 or 70 people, back in the 90's. The one's that that always got the flu shot were the ones that always got the flu. Always !

The shot you get today, is probably for a different strain. I figure I am building up my immunities. Had the discussion with my GP, he had to agree.

After two vaccinations at the same time DW came down with Guillain-Barre symptoms within the hour. Needed a walker for four months. Her writing went from the calligraphy she was known for to looking like a drunken fourth graders. Cognition and memory were badly effected but are now coming back. I thought I would have to retire early to take care of her.

No more vaccinations for her.
